fiendliness of staff, excellent food, great location and laid back breakfast
clean room, all the necessary ammenities, close proximity to the beach, friendly staff, wholesome breakfast
Great location, comfortable rooms and the staff are very attentive. An excellent place to stay on Guernsey
We recieved a very warm welcome on our arrival at the Cobo Bay Hotel, our room was clean and spacious with all the amenities you could need. Breakfast facilities were excellent and the location of this hotel can not be beaten, views over the bay are beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
friendly service and very helpful
Hot tub in the health suite was fab, just make sure you visit after 10am!
I have visited Cobo Bay Hotel four times. The staff are good. It is always clean. The rooms are very well designed. The food is great. The location is next to the best Sandy Beach on the Island for Families. The views of the sea and the colour of the rocks is wonderful.
our view, location, close to beach
Friendly helpful staff. Having bottled water in the room each day.
Great view across Cobo Bay, good food and attentive staff.
My room was very noisy with people talking outside at midnight and smoke drifting through the window even closed! a machine buzzed intermittently all night from the bar below , every three minutes, buzzed for 5 seconds, there was no night Staff to complain, i thought the second night would be quiter but no. I have no problem using this Hotel again, just that particular room
All of it. Very friendly yet professional. Courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good but didn't get a chance to try the carvery unfortunately.
very relaxing atmospher. The staff were there for your needs without being intrusive. only that they would benefit from a lift.
The staff and the food were second to none. nothing was a trouble There was a noise coming into our room which the staff did their very best to put right
Eat, drink and sleep
Good location, not on the beach but convenient to get around. We had a hire car but you could use buses or bikes as the island is small. Friendly staff, clean, good breakfast
Very noisy bedroom adjacent to busy road
Very comfortable room with the best-equipped bathroom I have ever encountered. Pricey, but there wasn't much choice, and it was very comfortable. Accessible by bus from St Peter Port, but not so easy to get to other parts of the island. It is better suited to people with own transport.
Enjoyable break - hotel staff, room & location excellent would go again.
Staff and food were excellent
Very clean and newly refurnished high quality hotel. Lovely grounds. I had a most enjoyable stay. All the staff were most courteous and welcoming. Good food in Renoir restaurant. Some of the connecting parts of the hotel and dining rooms were rather cold (during a very cold winter spell in February). Some of the breakfast food was not as hot as expected.
The hotel was very good. All the staff were very attentive, especially in the Renoir Restaurant. They kindly helped us celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversay on July 4th, with a complimentary glass of champagne. Please pass on our thanks and also to the chef and kitchen staff. We thought the food was really very good. Our only minor complaint is that the toilet in the bathroom did not flush very easily, so the handle had to be pumped several times. Waste of water!!
The setting, and quality of the hotel Cooked breakfast, cold
breakfast and Sunday lunch
Poor English of dining room and bar staff
This is a modern hotel with well equipped large rooms that are nicely decorated. The leisure facilities are good and the public areas comfortable with good service
I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the peace and quite. I only ate one evening meal at the hotel and it was very tasty. Breakfasts were excellent. And the golf course was well presented (short) but worthy.
There is not one particular thing I liked as I liked it all! Just amazing place and staff, will be going back and taking some friends for a spa weekend. I am suprised it has not been awarded 5* I spend a lot of time in hotels all over the country and abroad due to work, not many hotels meet my expectations and offer what they advertise on internet but this hotel is by far the best I have stayed in.
Very pleasant stay.hotel improvin.would recommend
Room was fine but the plumbing needs upgrading Breakfast was average
The bed was excellent Front office staff poor. We booked a cab 24 hours in advance and they failed to get it there for us. We had to ask four times and finally they called for another cab company. We had a problem with the bill and instead of informing us so we could correct i
Good location with excellent staff and facilities
The staff could not be any friendlier! The room was great, with a sunken bath and huge comfortable bed. The location is superb, right in the heart of town, with easy access to fantastic shopping and restaurants. No
Great hotel - never knew it existed before. Close to towm excellent food... 10/10 None
Central position - so convenient to town. A very pleasant stay, staff were very helpful and the facilities were excellent. Thank you.
Rooms smelt of damp and collegues room had three pairs of dirty knickers in drawer
Staff were very friendly and helpful food was lovely Some of the fittings in the bathroom were broken - the shower tap and the toilet seat didnt fit the toilet. Also the ipod dock broke and we didnt get a replacement
We stayed in a basic room which was sub standard - no TV or working radio & was situated next to staff quarters. There was constant noise from these rooms. The reception & dininig /breakfast area had however been refurbished.
central location: parking on site: good food in house: good base for our tour around Guernsey shower fittings broken as reported on departure
This hotel is AA 2 star rated i have seen worse 4 star rated hotels - room of good size & staff very friendly whilst rooms very good need a bit of tlc - most likely as near end of season
The hotel ambience, the courteousness of the staff, and the great food made my stay a pleasurable and comfortable one.
the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were excellent and the hotel was ideally located.
Only overnight on B&B basis and all facilities not therefore used
IT was conveniently located and the staff was friendly and accommodating before and during our stay. Breakfast had a lot of variety.
Upgrade to room with balcony and sea view was much appreciated.
Lovely hotel with very attentive and happy staff. The booking stated all beds were queen size. This is not the case ours was a standard double in a small room
Having stayed in hotels worldwide for business for over 40 years I knew on arrival that I would enjoy my first visit to OGH. It is rare for me to re-visit but I am very loyal and I will return. room 221 was a disappointment - 319 met expectations and I hope to book 127 next time. local knowledge is a powerful thing...
Great location, very professional and caring personel, nice english style interior, fine restaurant Room far too small. The announced king size bed was certainly not larger than 140 cm. The night was uncomfortable. Maybe the upgraded rooms are in better relation with the projected standard of the hotel.
The facilities and the breakfast both rate very high No
The welcome and the staff, they couldn't do enough for you and nothing was too much trouble and they made our anniversary special The location. There was a lot of noise outside on Saturday night from young locals and we didn't get a lot of sleep. However, this was no fault of the hotels.
We could walk to the center of town in about 15 minutes, and from there, everywherein town. The bus stop just up the street from St. George's Hotel allowed us to go all over Guernsey. The full English breakfast every day was a treat! Whew! The weather was warm, but on the street level of a major street made sleeping difficult--keep the windows open for comfort or close them for noise? We tried both and neither was totally satisfactory.
The helpful & friendly staff, facilities and location.
Good service in all areas of the hotel. Generally plenty of staff on duty and all very cheerful and willing to be of assistance and service.
The central location made travelling round Guernsey very convenient. The hotel facilites and staff enabled us to have a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday. There were good facilities and support for my elderly mother.
Great Staff, very pleasant and helpful
Extremely pleasant well trained staff. Good food and comfortable bar in hotel. Rocquettes is popular with locals as well as tourists and is of a consistently good standard.
paying for towels at the pool
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable clean enviroment
Overall it was conventient and well run The room was tradgically underwelming as was the 'new' bar and resteraunt...it does not parallel the external look of the hotel
The hotel is in an ideal location for access to St Peter Port. The staff are helpful and friendly. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and would recommend staying in the superior room, which are more comfortable..
It was perfect in every way and will definitely be back
Good food, friendly and attentive staff
the atmosfer was very good
Very relaxing stay, the food was really good and the room was great. It's a shame we were only able to stay one night! One of our bathroom towels smelt quite strongly of sick - the smell hit you as you walked into the room.
The decoration and size of the room plus the food is always of a high standard and something a little bit different. There was a function booked in for that evening and I got the impression that had we not managed to get the last table for dinner at the bar, we wouldn't have been able to eat there. As residents, I feel that they should always be made to feel that they can eat in the hotel.
The hotel was excellent, just as the website showed. The price of the hotel food and drink was very good which meant that we stayed in more than we went out. The chef(s) was/were excellent too as the food was always well presented and cooked to perfection. We paid for a suite which was smaller than the deluxe room that our friends had! This was certainly a trick of the camera as the suites on the internet looked so much bigger. This wasn't a case of mines bigger than yours but we did feel a little cheated as we had paid 25% more for the priviledge. Also we all felt that there were time that the staff (bar staff in particular) were pushing us to spend more on wine or were closing earlier than we would have liked. We appreciate that staff have homes to go to but snuffing candles out at 10:00pm whilst we were in the bar was a little too apparent.
Excellent.. We very much enjoyed our stay and very much appreciated the flowers and champagne that the hotel arranged for our wedding anniversary.. Thank you very much.
Attentiveness of staff and quiet atmosphere gave a very pleasant ambience. Room and en suite bathroom were of a very high standard. Food was good though not of gourmet standard. The number of electrical/electronic switches in our room was most confusing. With no lounge separate from the bar, It was very difficult to find somewhere to read where there was sufficient light, quiet and comfortable easy-chairs. Meat helpings were over the top.
Lovely room, very warm friendly atmosphere, beautiful setting would definately recommend
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff The lights in the bedroom weren't sufficient - just a bit too dark.
Breakfast The manager & his wife were very rude
Room was clean and hotel is well-maintained. Nice choice at breakfast. No elevator
We stayed for just one night, but during that short time we sensed a friendly and welcoming feeling. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. Nothing
The room was love, the food was good, and the staff were excellent. Would definately revisit. Nothing
The staff were very pleasant and helped us out on a number of occasions, for example sorting out an iron and ironing board, booking taxis and holding our luggage securely for us after check-out. The room and bathroom were very clean. The pool was nice. The breakfast was excellent but the restaurant staff were efficient but not very warm and quite dismissive on some occasions. We did not like that breakfast is only served until 9.30 on weekdays and 10 only on Sundays, it would be nice at least to serve until 10 on Saturdays also. The decor was pretty standard 'county hotel' style and the hotel was very clean but the furnishing and carpeting were noticeably worn, particularly in our room and the restaurant.
Very good food, clean hotel, rooms very good, lovely location.
Knowledgeable staff, friendly, great swimming pool, good fitness area. Restaurant little bit staid, but i guess its mainly for business during the week
Relaxing, no fuss good food & pleasant staff. N/A
Price and convenient location for me Room would benefit from being updated a little, but was ok
Friendly staff good food On flightpath but not that much of a bother also could hear noise from a generator or air con
The size of the room and its comfort. The friendly staff. Breakfast, the parking space.
Friendly and warm Room 201 sound of water at night and light coming under door
Had a lovely time and romance abound. Very relaxing and pool and garden area very peaceful. Just wished we had stayed longer
very resonable price. free use of spa was excellent. great time spent at la trelade little bit dated decor in rooms
Loverly reception staff and glorious views. It is a fair way from the town but is worh it for the views and walks on the coastline. Room decore is very basic, stained armchair, the bathroom is essential. The price is not reflective of quality, it is expensive as most services in Guernsey are.
Superb location, clean, friendly and lots of space. St. Peter Port not far away - bus stops at the hotel car-park. Or take a scenic walk into town along the cliff path - terrific views and only 90 minutes at leisurely pace. Can't think of any!
Stunning location - great building, close to St Peter Port and excellent transport (from directly outside of the hotel). Lovely restaurant - very spacious. Fantastic breakfast. Internet site did not accurately record room availability - so we had to move rooms after 2nd night - not great on a 3 night short break. Bath had not been cleaned properly. When we complained we were told it would be done the next day!! A lot of the crockery in the restaurant was dirty. Billing problems sorted by the manager.
All in all - amazing place to stay.. great views and great customer service.
nice rooms, good breakfast hotel closes at 12am, got locked out. receptionist was a bit rude
The View, also the room, good location The food was not up to my expectation. plus the fire alarm went off twice after 11.30pm, Health & Safety not very good.
Location and breakfast. We didn't use the pool because of the weather, but it looks to be good place to laze around on a hot day.
The view from the bedroom window and balcony was fabulous. The cleanliness of the pool meant we could not make use of it which was disappointing
Exellent location. Bright & clean. Warm & freindley reception
position of hotel friendliness of staff, lovely grounds-but wish the pool had been heated!
