Located in lovely old village good food (breakfast & dinner) can cater for vegetarians
The owners of the hotel were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, and they always went over and above the call of duty to ensure we enjoyed our stay! Can not praise them enough
staff -- very friendly and quite informative about what to do in the area which was helpful to us. Room decor very nice.
The owner could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Not only was Enrico a superb chef, he was also the perfect host. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for excellent cuisine and a superb base from which to explore South Eastern Tuscany. Nothing
The host of the hotel is very kind and symthetic.
Quiet, inviting Tuscan hills are the backdrop for this hotel. The host and hostess clearly have a passion for what they are doing and you, as guest, feel it warmly. Great attention to detail - in the room as well as at dinner. Molto grazie e a la prossima !
Mostly we enjoyed our hike around the vineyards and up to Montemerano. We were there at the end of October and wished that we had been told ahead of time that it was off season at the hotel. The pool, spa, restaurant were all closed.
My room was excellent (for one person) and breakfast was outstanding, particularly the wide choice including scrambled egg, cereals, croissants, toast, fresh bread, jams, honey, fruit and delicious freshly baked cakes. To eat well at the restaurant ie 3/4 courses costs 45 euros or more and wines (all from their own vineyards) range from 14 euros upwards. (We had just 2 courses from a la carte - ample - for around 25 - 35 euros plus coffee). Lovely location surrounded by their own vineyards, olive groves and attractive garden. Nice swimming pool. Lighting in the restaurant was a bit dim for us oldies!
peace and quite
Very nice hotel surrounded by vineyards and a beautiful, large garden with a great variety of threes and flowers. Nice pool area. very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant; the green homemade ravioli is alone worth killing for!
During the past 41 years we have visited every region in Italy and stayed at some of the best hotels. Relais Villa Acquaviva now resides in our Pantheon of favorite hotels in the world. The setting in the Italian countryside is superb...you feel one with nature. The entire complex is thoughtfully integrated into the land and the rooms (we had three...one for ourselves, ages 71; our daughter and son-in-law; and two granddaughters, ages 12 and 14)are beautifully done with every amenity possible. The pool and tennis court are both top notch. We ate both nights at the hotel and the meals were, by every measure, gourmet. Our only regret: We only stayed for two nights, which we will remedy next year. thank you fabrizio! We only stayed two nights! There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that one week is more appropriate!
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely surroundings and good pool area. Internet access. High standard of food and good breakfast selection. No daytime pool drinks or snack service available during second half of our stay (1st week Sept). Delicious fruit salad at breakfast seemed to stop after our second day. Our first room was dark and had very limited drawer space, but the hotel kindly moved us to to another superior room which was bright, excellent and made all the difference to our enjoyment..
Sleep in a hotel built in 11 century, confortable, clean, wonderful view, priceless.
Fantastic views over Sorano - worth every penny
Wonderful hotel, great room and fantastic village...
The idea of staying in a nearly thousand year old castle. Highest point in town with awesome views. Nice rooms.
Great location , quite room Everything fine
Unique hotel, nice view from our room, location. Minor bathroom smell
cuisine in the restaurant was excellent
The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
Breakfast was one of the best during our trip in Italy. Inconvenient location. The facility is more of a 'motel' rather than a hotel/resort. Pool was closed. For this price, we could have stayed at a very nice B&B in the same region.
Nice and cosy hotell in the countryside. Very good restaurant and food. A car is needed, but there is a big parking place about 50m from the hotell. Church bells nearby are noisy ( ear plugs may be needed ).
The staff spoke very little English but they welcomed us very graciously and saw to our every need. It was like we were family. A nice light breakfast was included. Parking was free. This little hotel is a gem. They have a great restraurant that is relatively inexpensive. The town is real layed back with a little grocery, a bakery, a gelato hang out and a couple restraurants. This was the most relaxing stop on our three weeks in Italy. Many hill towns are an easy day trip. Parking in Orvieto by the train station is free for visiting Orvieto or for taking the train to Rome for day trips.
Accomodation most rudimentary and is being camoflaged as eco. Very difficult not to be offensive as it is a con trick. !00 Euros per night plus 30 Euros per person for an appalling dinner is totally unacceptable. This is a B&B that gives all honest houses a bad name. I am surprised that you deal with this stable I will not even attempt to list the cons. Do not appreciate having to get up every hour of the night to put wood in a wood fire in order not to freeze to death whilst a rudimentary heating system was on holiday- I do not consider a poor hungarian goulash a tuscan dish
Beautifully and tastefully decorated house and friendly host in beautiful country side.
Big swimming pool, a lot of comfortable sunbeds Small appartements, resounding gangways, no TV, and not really detached rooms.
Simple but nice appartement close to some nice old tuscan villages... Great seimmingpool and sport facilities.Nice for kids also.
The hospitallity of the staff at Terre Gialle was great. We had to arrive at the residence at 11pm but because of delays we manged to arrive at 2am, finding the staff waiting for us without any problem. The environment is great, peacefull and all you hear are the birds singing. Staff was very helpfull, showing us where the points of interests are withing the area and giving us some helpfull tips and information.
The residence is very nice. The building has a real character and has been very well restored. The small park is very calm and well-maintained. The small town nearby is also charming. In addition, it has all necessary shops and services. But the thing that we liked the most was the manager, who is great, funny and really helpful.
Great place, friendly stuff, wonderful nature. A room is a bit on a compact side, but everything worked Ok. A car is a must. I think that washing machine and microwave would be a desirable addition to an apartment.
Great atmosphere and location. Very quiet and an all round lovely stay.Beautiful property. Some signs around Sovana so you can find it more easily.
A lovely room, looking over the beautiful gardens and Doumo. The local restaurants were excellent.
This hotel is a gem. What a find. Great for couples, beautiful gardens, private property from town. Great breakfast.
Excellent hotel with a fantastic garden and pool area. Good breakfast and good service. Sovana is a little gem in itself. Beds were too hard for my liking.
The warm contact with the personnel. The awesome garden, the surrounding nature. The quietness, the peace, the view of the beautiful near-by church. Well, it is a little bit on the kitschy side, but it doesn't matter...
very small rooms and very high price, the room was next to the kitchen and was very noisy early morning also no free wireless connection, they said it was broken
nice and friendly staff, beautiful location and garden
Lovely location . Very quiet . Mix with italians rather than english . Beautiful hotel , good facilities , nice restaurants in very small village .
The quite beautiful romantic location. The garden is lovely. When it is cold and rainy the open fire place should be in use.
Parking, breakfast, and a central location were the main advantages. The hot springs at Saturnia were about 1 kilometer from the hotel.
The staff were great. the room was clean. There is a resteraunt nearby which was wonderfull. Close to saturnia hot springs, a geat relaxsation resort.
Hospitality Room-Doors are in the open-air unprotected.Breakfast room not inside connected with sleeping area. Bad for winter time!
The Hotel room was spottless the design modern, comfortable and functional. It is located in farmland and the yard has fruit and vegetables that were offered to us. 2km away are the hot springs of Saturnia where you can take baths at the falls free of charge or at the fountains for 7.50 euro. You can choose to dine at any nearby town at the top of the mountain which has senery and history. I highly rcommend this property if you want to do something different and away from the tourist crowds. A swimming pool would have been nice
Lots of space (we had the suite). Excellent location. The owners are really nice.
Hotel is charmingly decorated and the room was good and so was breakfast. The hostess was welcoming and gave us excellent advice about walking into town. The only problem was that during the night, someone in the floor above walked about several time in the night in high heel shoes on tiled floor and this woke us up each time.
