The Residenza d'Epoca 1861 is set on the beach of the ancient seaside town of Santa Maria di Castellabate and overlooks the magnificent Amalfi Coast. This is an elegant boutique hotel and with just 6 bedrooms it has a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Each room has a great sea view and there is also a unique cellar which houses the breakfast room and a bar. Here you can spend your days simply relaxing on the sandy beach or take part in a number of excursions and activities which the hotel’s staff will be happy to help you plan. Visit the island of Licosa or explore the Cilento National Park nearby. Try scuba diving or hire a bicycle from the hotel and go cycling. The hotel may only be bookable for long stays of 2 or more nights.
A fantastic location with a charming owner who went out of his way to stay open another night for us at the end of his season - cannot fault that! Excellent value for money for the view alone.
Tbe beautifully spacious and appointed room, with the most spectaluar view in a beautiful and charming town.
Very friendly staff and a nice place to sit out in the mornings to watch the world go by.
Lovely hotel right on the beach. Very friendly staff. Super rooms.
Residenza D'epoca 1861 lived up to our expectations. Carlo and his staff went out of thier way to make our stay a memorable one.The room (one of six) was beautifully appointed and the view from the balcony was to die for. The old style building is fronted by a seafront baordwalk and an adjecent beach. All esential facilities, restaurantes etc., are within walking distance. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel.
A restaurant in the hotel would be a great addition.
Superior room was lovely. View from the balcony was nice. Friend stayed in standard room on the same weekend and there was no comparison. Standard room was small and claustrophobic!
Holiday started off badly as we waited 30 mins outside the hotel for the reception to open. Eventually a fellow guest opened the door for me. I then called the Owners mobile from the reception telling him that I wanted to check-in. Morning of departure, We received a phone call at 11.10 saying that we should have been out of the room 10 mins earlier. We were told check out was between 11.00 and 13.00. Room cleaning entered the room around 11.40 while we were showering, preparing to leave. At 11.50 Owner arrived at room door telling us that we need to get out or else he will send in Maid again. Argued for 10 mins until we vacated the room at 12.10. Overall the hospitality was terrible to put it mildly !!
The peacefulness, relaxing atmosphere and coolness of the hotel in the midst of summer tourism.
There was little I did not like about this hotel, though it would have been nice to be able to enjoy breakfast on the privacy of our balcony, instead of outside on the sea front road (although this was a dead end road and not busy with traffic)
Nice hotel in a nice place.
The room had sometimes a bad smell - maybe a problem with the sewer.
friendliness, customer care, the area,
could not think of one thing
Great location: the Residenza is situated by the beach with bars that serve delicious food; it is just a minute from the town centre of Santa Maria with its friendly shops and restaurants. The rooms are stylish and specious with great see view, air conditioning and a large bathroom. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The tasty breakfast is served outside at the café overlooking the sea.
