10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I spent one night at Masseria Susafa this June during our road trip through Sicily. This was by far our favourite hotel - it is remote, with 360 degree views of gorgeous countryside that will take your breath away, every meal was divine, the attention of the staff was infallible and the amenities were nothing short of luxurious. We left after one night feeling completely restored and we hope to be back soon for a much longer stay! Ps. We highly recommend the cooking classes!
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like about this hote. Just a caution to guests with cars that the road to the hotel isn’t paved and is very uneven, be careful!

They have a selection of jams, honey, chocolate and other customized items for sale in their shop. The facilities are all in excellent condition, the views are breathtaking and they create an authentic farm life experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were especially attentive and kind and we felt very welcome. The location is exceptional - yes, the road for the last 7 kms is a bit rough, but it is entirely worth it when you arrive at this beautiful place. The views from all sides of the Masseria were wonderful, changing with the light and weather. The different areas to sit in, the gardens and the pool were all so relaxing and the whole place is very well-maintained. The restaurant in the former granary where breakfast was served is stunning, but at night we loved sitting outside in the gardens. Breakfast was excellent and the food overall very good. We highly recommend the Masseria Susafa!
Cons: We couldn’t fault anything at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing oasis in the central valleys of Sicily, for complete relaxation, and visiting nearby cities. Fantastic breakfast, great dinner options in the courtyard of the beautifully restored former mansion.
Cons: You have to be aware of the access road being bumpy - and be sure you meticulously follow the one road from the suggested highway exit, else you will end up stuck in nowhere land and have to do a detour of around 45kms to eventually reach the Masseria.

The inside has been totally redone and is part of a small boutique also. The floors were heated the beds were clean and the bathrooms were outstanding. The view from my balcony was spectacular because we could see the national Park and the mountains. I need to make a quick comment about the staff. 7.0 Good
Pros: Early check-in, friendly host, welcome drink on arrival, beautiful surroundings and lovely views, rustic charm, fresh flowers in bedroom, tasty vegetarian evening meal consisting of farm produce (good value for money, 18€/person).
Cons: The doors not shutting, the washbasin not draining in the bathroom, mouldy shower cubicle. Very cold room on a rainy day. Very disappointing breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the farm to table experience was awesome. Pietro and his mom gave us attentive service and the tour of the farm was both enjoyable and informational. People should be aware that this is a vegetarian facility, no meat production, but lovely nuts, cheese and eggs all produced on site.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of Agriturismo Cuca is perfectly situated with stunning views of the mountains and the hill town of Polizzi Generosa. As soon as you enter the driveway you feel as if you have found a real gem yet undiscovered. What you will find is peace and bliss. Nothing slick here. The real thing. We were warmly greeted by Pietro, a passionate botanist and sustainable farmer ,his mother and their dog Lupe. Soon after we were served fresh figs,(in the garden) hazelnuts and an amazing tea of herbs and spices blended by Pietro all from the farm. Dinner did not disappoint and ended with delicious liquors made by Pietro. Breakfast was also a treat with copious amounts of coffee fresh bread cheese and homemade jams. This gorgeous area deserved more time than I had and I definitely plan on returning and will absolutely be staying at the Cuca!! This place remains in my mind and was a highlight for myself and my adult children.
Cons: No negatives
4.5 Okay
Pros: A lovely mountainous area. Vegetarians would like the local food from the owners' small-holding. Quiet and a ten minutes drive from the local town.
Cons: The property, the rooms and the facilities had not been touched in years. Everything on the property looks shabby and uncared for. (Not even a sign at the rusty old entrance gates to indicate the property.) Our room was dark and very damp (in mid September). Turned out that a radiator leaked. The water supply was a mere trickle and after running for five minutes into a tiny hand basin, the water got warmer. (I do not exaggerate!). Pietro and his mother were welcoming and good cooks - breakfast was very good. But this did not overcome the general ambience of neglect. For example, there was nowhere to sit comfortably in our room. This was important as the uplands are often rainy in the Summer. (However, to be fair, our fellow guests liked this experience or rural deprivation.) For our main holiday, we did not share their views. We were disappointed and desperate for a warm and light room and a wash in hot water. Very poor value for money.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner of this Agriturismo is very helpful and he went out of his way to provide an excellent service. Breakfast was delicious with various genuine local delicacies.
Cons: It is a little bit tricky to find.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Pietro is super nice and friendly, and speaks English, which is less common that you'd think Super tasty breakfast, and dinner with local plants (also vegetarian friendly) Great location
Cons: Niente

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience of the room, the view, the food and the owner
Cons: That we had to leave, our stay was so good.,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had dinner there on the 3 nights we stayed and the food, cooked by the host's mother was simple, very tasty and different each night. She used fresh ingredients from their own organic garden. Other guests from France and Holland did the same thing and we had some very enjoyable evenings - helped by some homemade liqueurs !
Cons: Difficult to find using satnav, had to phone for directions. The drive was very rough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is perfect. Pietro went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our single day in the mountains even in the absence of our own car, well above and beyond. The place is a working farm set in idyllic scenery with views over the mountains and valleys and up to the town of Polizzi Generosa perched on its outcrop. Spacious rooms in the apartment were comfy. Excellent fresh local food prepared by the host family for evening and breakfast focussed on very local products as far as possible (at a very reasonable extra cost for dinner), and we were supplied with bread and cheese for a hiking-lunch. I can't praise this place enough.

La Locanda Di Cadi - Petralia Sottana - Bedroom
10
8.9 Excellent (167 reviews)
Overview Reviews
La Locanda Di Cadì offers a Sicilian restaurant using locally grown ingredients. It has country-style rooms with wood fires and is located in Cipampini, 8 km from the Madonie Regional Park. Rooms at the Cadì come with a private bathroom, fridge and LCD TV. Wi-Fi is free for the first hour and laptops are available for guests’ use. An Italian breakfast is served daily. Traditional meals are cooked by the property’s chef, a well-known local journalist and personality. Staff can organise horse riding, cultural visits and theme evenings. The Madonie Shopping Centre is 4 km from the property. Cefalù and Enna are both a 1-hour drive away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best place I stayed in Sicily. It has amazing views to sicilian countryside. The owner is playing classical music in authentic restaurant while serving great meal from local products. As we traveled with children, we visited during a day Parco avventura de Medonia, which is in nearby forest where our kids enjoyed whole day performing some activities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Diego and Patricia are superb hosts! The location is quite isolated - a real treat after spending days exploring the cities and larger towns of Sicily. We loved the wood burning stove in the room. Dinner is a must - we loved the intimate experience of dining there with a meal prepared just for us, and we greatly appreciated the way we were taken care of with our request for a vegetarian meal - everything was delicious.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Personality of the owners
Cons: bathroom tiny. Feet in shower when using toilet...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Diego's place is a true gem, nestled in beautiful countryside. The rooms are nice and clean, but the highlight is the food! We enjoyed two dinners here and two breakfasts, and wished we had more. We used this as our base for exploring Cefalu (1 hour away) and Piazza Armerina / Caltagirone. Also very close to hiking and other small towns like Gangi.
Cons: May be a bit tricky to find at first, especially at night - but Google Maps / GPS will get you there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the best part of our two-week stay in Sicily. The location takes a page from heaven: rolling hills, wildflowers, and the clanging bells of horses. It’s a perfect spot for your Madonie Mountain adventures. But let’s not forget the most important part: the FOOD. Diego is an incredible cook and treated us to the best lunch and dinner of our young lives. Honestly, I can die a happy man after eating Diego’s incredible food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Locanda di Cadi is an entirely unique experience: a small guest house in a particularly pretty hamlet on the southern slopes of the beautiful Madonie mountains, with spectacular views south, both long and near. But what makes it unique is the passion and care which Diego and Patrizia offer their guests: having been many things in his life (see below) Diego's passion is good cooking, entirely from local produce of a very high quality (he made a round trip of more than 25 miles simply to buy wild mushrooms for our dinner - they were worth it!). In our 10 day stay he never once repeated the menu - because, he modestly says, 'I can't remember what I cooked yesterday'! Patrizia lavishes equal care on their guests to ensure they have all they need - and all at extraordinarily reasonable prices. For the discerning, this is a remarkable place. For those who choose, as we did, to stay as well as to dine in the restaurant, the facilities are simple, efficient and good. Everything works, and a lot more besides - including the good music Diego has playing in the restaurant. Both originally Sicilian, Diego has been, since graduating from Naples Conservatoire, a journalist (and director of one of Italy's leading daily newspapers), a teacher of philosophy and a brilliant pianist - for those lucky enough to hear him play the grand piano in the restaurant at the end of an evening's cooking. Cosmopolitan to his finger tips his fund of stories - and the wisdom to accompany them - come from all corners of the world from which he reported. Patrizia has been an architect practising mainly on landscape design (as well as the renovation of their Cimpanini property) and now teaching art and design in local schools in the Madonie - when not looking after their guests with great care and concern.
Cons: We liked it all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location - absolutely peaceful place in the Sicilian mountains - perfect for a relaxing stay. The place cannot be more authentic (stone village houses with locals living there). Rooms perfectly equipped (comfortable bed, kettle with a possibility to make a tee is a nice detail). Last but not least - if you want to have a real culinary experience, definetely come here! Full-course dinner where you get to know Sicilian couisine, taste local products and enjoy this all in a unique atmosphere that this place has. And breakfast (especially eggs) is perfect too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings were absolutely fantastic in this little medevial village. In the same house was this faboulus restaurant serving sicilian specialities
Cons: It was difficult to find, but once you’re there it’s mora than worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location in a mountain hamlet, surrounded by wild flowers. Very well appointed rooms, charming hosts, wonderful, inventive, locally-sourced food - couldn't be any better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely apartment in a delightful village. Ideal location for hiking in the Parc della Madonie. Spacious bedroom and very well- provisioned bathroom, both immaculately clean. All sorts of thoughtful touches like the provision of multiple adaptors, which we greatly appreciated. Delicious breakfast of orange juice, cappucinos, warm croissants, bread, butter and jam served in the breakfast room by charming Giovanna. Two good restaurants in the village (Lu Carme & Trattoria da Salvatore).
Cons: Room overlooked a busy street. The motorcycles in particular were very noisy.

Pros: Such a friendly an nice hostess. She makes a wonderful homemade marmalade that you get for breakfast and she has a lot of tips for the island. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and uniquely decorated with many personal and historic touches. The owner, Antonella, is friendly and very helpful and clearly loves having guests in this pretty house which is conveniently located in this quiet village high in the Madonie. The studio is small but perfectly formed with a very comfortable bed on the mezzanine level. The village is reachable by bus from Palermo and by taxi from Castelbuono if you prefer travelling without a car.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Little Maisonette in the middle of the town, nice furniture, breakfast with Croissants.
Cons: Maisonette was hard to heat, WiFi was not good at upper floor.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Secluded location outside of Polizzi Generosa. Quiet and peaceful. Owners/Staff were functional
Cons: Rooms were quite outdated and not so clean. Ours had a damp problem in the walls. Whilst location was beautiful, little care was taken to maintain the gardens. Location of Google maps was misleading, thank goodness for the sign on the street. Although we had beautiful weather, breakfast outside was not offered unless you served yourself. Inside service only. Nice hosts but very functional, not overly friendly for an owner run business.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was just what we were looking for, lovely building out in the country but an easy drive to Cefalu which we planned to visit. Excellent value for money and lovely freshly cooked food in the evening. At breakfast there was a fruit on offer which turned out to be a nespole, somewhat similar to an apricot in appearance but sweeter and with an easily removable skin - try it if they have it!
Cons: If you approach from the north (Collesano or the A19) best to drive passed the right turn to the property and then turn round and come back with the turning on your left as the right turn is very acute.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views from the room are magnificent. Anyone who loves nature would love staying here. The owner is very welcoming. Breakfast is good and nicely presented. We had dinner on 2 occasions and it was very filling and tasting very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The agriturismo is in a beautiful building in a really peaceful countryside location with glorious views. We ate under the pergola around the small cloistered courtyard. The food was fresh, with local meat, vegetables and fruit. One of the best cannoli I have ever had At breakfast the homemade jam and fresh ricotta were delicious. Luigi is a great host and we really enjoyed meeting him.
Cons: We liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice B&B outside Polizzi Generosa. 4 course dinner for only €25 and a bottle of house wine for €7,50. Nice views from the house and very nice for walking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Total desolation and privacy in a wonderful, secluded and absolutely quiet old mill. Simple yet tasty cucina tipica, attending yet reserved owners. Outstanding starting point to start wandering and get lost (mentally) in the Madonie mountains.
7.5 Good
Pros: All food was fresh and specially prepared The location was superb, quiet, marvellous views
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is so gorgeous! The hotel is made in very thick stone walls, and have an antique decoration inside. It felt like travelling back in time! We could see the cows nearby, as well as a group of boars stealing tomatoes from the hotel's yard. The food is also pretty good, specially the cannolo. This cannolo was the best one we ate in Italy!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Karen and Luigi were perfect hosts
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We like the area, outside of the village. The swimming pool was nice, a small playground for kids was okay. Views were amazing. Close to other villages in the mountains and mountains itself where you can spend a lot of time. The hosts are great people, the grandmother was a cook itself and they cook nice cakes and Sicilian dishes by their own using local products.
Cons: Wi-Fi could be better but we were high in the mountains so that is something that is quite normal.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect: high in the mountains with clean air and great views. Must be perfect as a summer retreat, unfortunately, we came there in April when swimming pool is closed. Dinner was quite decent. Place is clean and staff is very friendly (although none of them spoke English) :)
Cons: WiFi is very poor, especially in the room. I understand that it is because isolated location but anyway. However, my cell had signal there. Breakfast could be better. I suggest that is because we came in the "dead" season.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and pool
Cons: Breakfast was limited for an agriturismo at that price
9.3 Excellent

8.5 Excellent
Pros: The family staff are friendly and very hospitable. The food at the restaurant was fantastic.
Cons: The location can be quite hard to find. I suggest one use google maps when near to take you at the exact location. A small inconvenience is the shower cubicle was too small.

Pros: Very comfy bed, nice room in an historic building, at the heart of the town. We received a very warm welcome and a lovely breakfast with home-made jams and fresh grapes from the garden.
7.0 Good
Pros: Sophia the young girl who spoke some english was extremely helpful - I needed to get to a property 35 minutes away on the sunday and she arranged her brother to drive for €30... The hotel itself is basic/rustic depending on how you look at things. All in all its a nice family run place.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house with modern upgrades. Super comfortable bed and sheets. Very nice hosts and close to main sites of interest.
Cons: What’s not to like
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property. It was like a fortress. Looked small outside but it was huge. Castle-sequel. The owners/family we’re wonderful and prepared a homemade breakfast, fresh preserves & pastries.
Cons: Lots of stairs to get to the rooms. It was colder inside than out. Very difficult to find.

Pros: Location is beautiful, the view from the terrace is amazing. Also the pool is great and people are super friendly. The surrounings are nice and we felt very welcome to explore. The rooms were really nice with a great view and enough space. We had food at the place and it was absolutly good.
Cons: The water was not drinkable but we discoverd this later, after we all had been drinking water. Nobody spoke English which was a bit hard. The shower was too small for each of us. The generator under the window was noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an incredibly lovely family. They truly could not be nicer. While the farm house is in the country, it is still quite close to great Sicilian sights: picturesque hilltop towns, Cefalu, Roman tiles. The evening meals were delicious typical Sicilian fare.
Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. We came here to have some relaxing time after cruising through Sicily for a week. The area is lovely and the views are amazing. We also got a very warm welcome and the lady immediately started to cook for a nice lunch. We also got an amazing 4 course diner in the evening. We defenitely relaxed here and would come back!
Cons: I loved the farm & the owners/people working here, but for a place like this I think it makes sense if they speak some words of English. The lady knew a bit of English, but the guy didn't spoke it at all. They also didn't really show us around the property, so we had to find our way around ourselves. We were also the only guests when we visited (November) and then the property is really silent due to it's size. However, we enjoyed that a lot because we came for a relaxed, peaceful, silent weekend, but be aware of this in off-season time.

Pros: Beautifully appointed room with a spotlessly clean bathroom. Would recommend to anyone who wants a trip away from it all Helen

Pros: The staff. Nothing was too much trouble. When I wanted advice on walking routes it was provided, when we talked about a local food speciality it was there on the breakfast table the next morning, when the days suddenly turned very wet and a bit chilly the heating was on even though I was the only person staying.
