High class, excellent in all ways. None
An almost faultless hotel. The owner and her staff were outstanding hosts, very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation and the service are first class and the place is spotlessly clean. Very quiet, central location in the historic centre, with free parking across the square or private garage if required. Lots of good restaurants and easy access to the Dali museums, local nature reserves and the coast. Highly recommended. No criticisms at all except the swimming pool is a little small, but we had access to the "sister" hotel's swimming pool which was very good.
Very friendly staff. Phantastic room, very spacy, large beds, excellent atmosphere, outstanding architecture, godd breakfast. The room ( 104 ) we had was luxury class!!!!
Room decor - size of room and beds - facilities in the room - upgrade automatically provided if available - friendliness and efficiency of staff - location None worth mentioning
Situated in the medieval area of a small village, close to many attractions and superb beaches in the Costa Brava region. Small hotel with friendly family-like atmosphere and staff that really care. The pool area was not crowded vven though we visited during high season, most of the time we had it to ourselves. The family room consisted of two large double beds next to each other and it acommodated the four of us easily. Even though the village is small, it offers nice restaurants. Please be aware that the cathedral area parking, athough free and within easy walking distance from the hotel, needs to be vacated on market days. Otherwise you end up picking up the car in a compound which will set you back 154,50 Euros. The problem was solved by the service-minded hotel owner who both drove me to the compund, and used her own cash as as they did not take credit card. In this way we made it in good time to our flight.
The best in this hotel is the all thing toghether: price, personal, room the city. This is one of the best hotel I have been and I travel a lot for business.
altogether a really nice quiet place to stay , very friendly staff. one suggestion they should recommend restaurant in the village.
It was lovely, clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a small boutique hotel, very classy!
This is a great place for an overnight stop if exploring this area of Spain. Try if you can to book room 103, it really is luxurious, and very spacious. The decor is very rich and the whole place is beautifully restored. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. Only niggle was I had to pay an extra 6 euros for the parking which wasn't mentioned on the booking.
the hotel is as you would expect, plus great service and great food.
Clean room, excellent & helpful front of house, great food, access to clean private swimming pool. Ideal base for surrounding area/beach/skydiving etc Some staff spoke English breakfast fairly basic and no fresh fruit available (apart from apples)
Excellent food & very large portions, it was a challenge to eat 3 courses Very quiet hotel out of season, wanting to close the bar well before 11:00pm
Very friendly staff (reception, bar, restaurant, cleaners...), beautiful swimingpool set in a XVII century convent only for hotel guests, very nice town, children friendly. A great experience. If anything, breakfast could have been better. Did not manage to get a proper cup of tea in there!
Staff not very helpful.
Fantastic staff, very welcoming. Good food Lovely swimming pool and breakfast on the roof with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Real family hotel.
It was quiet yet in the town. Good parking facilities and a swimming pool for guests. A good restaurant and a fine roof terrrace for breakfast
Very pleasant hotel & settings, food was excellent & should receive an award for the standards. Very comfortable surroundings & rooms. A very enjyable stay, we will be staying again. It would be good if it had a swimming pool, there is plenty of room to fit one into the grounds?
Great location, caring & friendly staff and good value for money. The interior of the hotel is modern and comfortable and breakfast outside on the roof terrace with the Med in the distance is not to be missed!
Charming location in quiet village, very nice rooms. Helpful staff. Free parking. Close drive to natural park.
Everything was fine (except air aconditioned, which you expect for a three stars apt-hotel) and we will come back (avoiding the hot periods). No air aconditioned. The wifi didn't work for both of our computers (and not precisely because of our lack of expertise).
Big complex, very impersonal, smell of sigarettes in the room... but good price off course. Only tolerable out of season
Unbeatable price for a room for 4! Totally clean and basic, but it suited us perfectly.
Good location, room was big(for 2)nice view(room 501) Booking on line was a nightmare! I booked for the 14/15th but when I recieved the confermation it was for the 13/14th(and still don't know if it has been cancelled,we phoned the hotel to cancel they knew nothing about it! So since then i've been watching my bank account.anyway we went without booking, and low and behold there was room at the "inn", we took a room for 2/4 personnes, towels for 2, 2 chairs on the balcony,as for the kitchenette, there were couverts for 4 people,!!! But just one saucepan!!! Not even a microwave!!and the fridge,it took all day to freeze a few ice-cubes, as for the resturant, the evening buffet was very poor,(17?pp)not much of a varity on the salad bar!(only if you like peppers!!)as for the hot stand, you really had to be hungry to choose something, and what's more it all looked dried up,we were glad to get back to our room to tuck into some of the shopping we had bought in the afternoon,
Price vs quality one of the least in the environment. There are much better locations. Breakfast was really poor.
The provision of clean bedding and towels on a daily basis.Location was good for our purpose. Two single beds pushed together do not make a comfortable double bed which we requested. The 1st room we were offered had a dreadful view of untidy properties. The hotel reception was in need of decoration and gave a poor first impresssion.
Location was excellent, staff very helpful, had a great time with the family. Breakfast was very basic and not to our taste.
Situation swimming pool The common parties were not so clean.
right beside beautiful beach. right beside a v long country walk for miles beside a riverbank. fresh bed linen and towels and room cleaned every single day even Sunday. great views of spectacular scenes of beaches, bay and mountains. right beside loads of restaurants and shops. nice swimming pool. 4 good lifts. a bit of noise at night from street below however back of hotel would be quieter. we prefered seaview so it was worth a bit of noise from people outside and it wasnt loud if we shut balcony doors.
The hotel offers a fair value for money, has a great location and a friendly staff. Furniture is not new, but the beds were good and bedlinnen was changed every day. When you pay approx. € 110,00 per night for a 4 person apartment (breakfast excluded), the it offers a fair value for money. Everything in the hotel is 'used' and the entire hotel would benefit greatly from a big maintenance operation, new furniture in the rooms, etc.
Nice room, helpful staff, atractive decor
Hotel was very nice, no complaints at all. Location excellent. Staff efficient and agreeable. Would be happy to return.
Rooms were clean and modern and staff were friendly and helpful Very expensive compared to other local hotels. We booked the cheapest double (which still was not cheap) and the room was very small compared to rooms in other hotels locally. Breakfast was an extortionate price. We won't stay there again preferring the Hotel Univers in nearby Roses.
Hotel terrace, friendly staff and location. Easy excursions throughout Emporda area. Parking was free but difficult to find during holiday season.
The location within Ampuriabrava is Perfect! Close to beach/port/center The overall finishing of the hotel is not worth 4* for me ... The hotel doesn't have a soul, staff is very cold, ... misses style/personality!
Friendly, helpfull staff who always had a smile. The very high quality of the hotel which was well located for all activities. no
I really liked the level of english spoken by the staff, especially the receptionist and his helpfulness. The food, both lunch and room service was exceptional and by far the best food I've had in Spain for similar value of money. I didn't like that you actually have to book an appointment for the sauna, think you should be able to go there when you want to. The hotel manager didn't seem very friendly. The breakfast was a bit disappointing given how great the ohter meals were.
Nice pool Very small room
good value.great location
We,ve stayed at the Salins on several occasions, some very difficult times, over the illness and death of my mother who lived in Empuriabrava. We received nothing but courtesy and support from the staff, notably Jordi, who is always very welcoming and charming. We have eaten in the restaurant which is excellent. Our only observation is that on this occcasion, we noticed that the decor wasbecoming very worn. the curtain linings in our room were torn, the balcony chairs were wobbly. We much enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the hotel
A lovely part of Spain that would not be appreciated by all - as many prefer to play Bingo as I don't. I've visited this hotel for about six years now whilst passing through. It is excellent, clean, tidy, a superb Irish bar and as in most of Catalonia, they still have an ashtray at the bar; and probably the best furnished in every respect. The local food is very good and comes at an affordable price. It's heaven for God's sake. Normally I live in the south of France when I'm at home; but this beets it in every respect. Don't tell everyone! It's 586Km from where I live.
The rooms are very nice looking and clean, windows do a good job of filtering the street noise. 10 minutes walk from the beach, decent amount of parking around the hotel. Good value for money, considering that it's a resort hotel. The staff of the hotel seems to be the same as the restaurant - usually nobody at the reception. Restaurant downstairs is very overpriced - have to go a bit further to eat. Far from the beach relatively to most other hotels in the town.
Fine were: retaurant, lovation, stuff, room, Pool, nearby boattrip, retsuarant location, climatisationt, price, parking place street between hotel and pool
The staff were very helpful, the hotel is very clean and has been fitted to a high quality and is perfectly situated for access to the town centre
Hotel staffs are very kind and well organize for all services. Hotel restaurant served excellent foods, specially fishes and sea foods and also waiters are very professional. Breakfast doesn't have variety.
On arrival the outside of the hotel is basic looking, reception is spotless & very friendly.our room was at the back of the hotel 214 - lovely room, V.comfy & V.clean, (we have stayed in 5* rooms more basic than this one) with amazing veiws overlooking the canal & mountains, was a lovely suprise! We were slightly dubious about the irish bar but it turned out to be a real locals hang out just playing brit music in the evenings, although loud we couldnt hear it from the room at all. it is a beautiful 10 min walk to the beach with places to eat & drink all the way.I Chose the area only as we were skydiving. we couldn't have had a better weekend in such a beautiful, friendly town - we were not hassled once to eat/buy anywhere, very refreshing!! Not really a complaint but would have been nice to have been advised before arrival that the pool is across the road from the hotel. this would not be suitable for a single parent. this didnt turn out to be a prob for us just a bit strange!
good gym facility, views, no spa facility
Easy to find on the main road and flanked by canals and boats.Nice big rooms with very nice bathroom and fittings. We also had a sunny balcony overlooking the canal.Very close to the beach and in easy driving distance of many nice attractions and old towns. The hotel had a lively but friendly Irish bar and a good seafood restaurant. It was an easy 1 hour driver from Girona Airport. Although the wine was very reasonable the meals seemed overpriced.
the position is excellent the rooms were great and large with a wonderful view the breakfast was very poor and not value for money it also started to late at 8.15 we missed breakfast on our last day as we had to leave at 8.o clock
hotel well situated with car parking (very important) and very helpful, pleasant staff, very clean. we stay at good hotels in Paris for far less than Emporium price - their town is good to visit but they are very greedy -only to be reccomended to friends with then warning of price
The location. It isn't as nice as advertised & the hotel cost us extra just for a decent room. The air-conditioning didn't work. The internet service never worked. The "Buffet Breakfast" consisted of only a handful of items. Very mis-leading & disappointing advertising.
A 2 star hotel, why does everybody expect a 5 star suite? The important parts of the hotel are nicely refurbished, everything is clean and comfortable (bathroom oldish, if you want, but functional, preferable to many modern sinks where the water does not go down...), WIFI in the room, a nice cafetteri, extremely kind personnel, a very good restaurant for a very reasonable price, with an excellent wine cellar, all products are local. Ask for a side street room and you won't hear anything! Go down to Empuriabrava and see what you get for this price, and where!! Surely, it is off the road, but again, you can locate it on the map, so, you know where you "end up". An extremely friendly place! Far off the jungle from Empuriabrava.
there is no any good point about this poor hotel
Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, rooms kept to a high standard. Pool area was a nice escape from the heat of the day. The hotel is very loud, noises seem to echo through walls as if they were very thin. In hotel entertainment on Tuesday night (playing to 4 people) could be heard on the 2nd floor late into the night. Breakfast is substandard and not to be recommended, bread/pastries hard, food unprotected from insects.
The staff were very helpful ,yet again !! Especially the very nice young lady from Uruguay.
The man on the front desk was the friendliest and most helpful of all the hotel personnel that we have encountered in Spain. The sound-proofing between walls was very bad.
Friendly, clean, very convenient for the drop zone. Good proximity to town. Food was very good. Bar had a lovely relaxing ambience. very noisy. Paper thin walls.
The rooms were kept clean and tidy. The pool area wsa ok. There was alot to dislike about this hotel, the food wasn't fresh, the breakfast was usually solid after being left out. The staff were unhelpful, after I had made a complaint. The walls are very thin, so noise travels through the hotel, they played loud music late into the night on a tuesday, even through there wasn't actually anyone in the bar.
It was close to the dropzone, and seeing as this was a skydiving trip, this made it ideal - and nicer than the Castell Blanc which is the other nearby hotel.
conditioning air ; silence ; breakfast and pool parties when you come the first time, you're not aware about card using : how to put it into the card reader to display light.
The hotel is absolutely lovely. I can't say enough good things about it. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was immaculate. The village is very pretty, and there are a few wonderful restaurants to eat in. Its very close to Cadaques and Roses if you want to stay there for just the weekend. Our room had a little balcony with a view as well which we didn't expect. it was lovely.
Beautiful new hotel. The owner was very nice. Gave important tips about our trip. We loved breakfast. Good taste even in small details. The room was upgraded without my knowledge, and charged for it.
Palau Saverdera is a beautiful village to walk around with the restaurants and bars of Roses only 5 minutes away. The hotel is beautifully decorated, rooms are beautiful with very comfortable beds and pillows. Great breakfast in the morning with lots of fresh produce. If you are going to be staying in this region you could not pick a better hotel!
Very nice staff. Nice little village - out of crowd, but close to beautiful touristic places.
The hotel is a wonderful gem of a place in the beautiful village of Paul Savadera. Merce is very friendly and makes sure you are welcomed and happy during your stay, with lots of advice on places to visit. A great place to stay.
The hotel is in a perfect shape, designed with a great taste. The rooms are comfortable and it was a calm place. The service is "rural" and we felt very well during our stay.
Eating in the village at restaurants recommended by the owner. Visiting neighbouring villages.
Village calm. Hotel decor attractive. Owner very friendly. The 'flashing' smoke alarm positioned just over the bed - very annoying. The soap dispenser next to the bath was far too high.
Extremely good.Breakfast and dinner very good
the rooms we booked were gorgeous, with exposed stone walls. we had a nice balcony and the breakfast was excellent.
Good setting for nature activities, helpful staff overall, No private parking, staff in restaurant not always up to mark
nice setting the discounted bboking.com price,as paid was 15 percent higher than the advertised price in the htel
Good location in the centre on San Pere Pescador. Helpful staff (though they did miss out some key info like how to open the locked door at night!), large room and bathroom. V hard pillows, very unusual room door locking system that's tricky to get the hang of, totally dead (no services eg TV room) and hotel all locked up by 8pm in low season (early Oct), no English TV which normally wouldn't be a problem but when it pours down with rain the entire weekend, it would have been nice to have.
Nice room, nice location Lack of a swimming pool, the desk service was available only a few hours every day
Cheap & Clean. The staff rather kind.
the area is beautiful the room and the bathroom
Staff, location, lobby atmosphere and breakfast Overselling on web site. Small and simple room. Should be called small boutique hotel with small and functional rooms. Price range based on comparison during this trip ought to be 60-70 Euro in late October
