The breakfast was good value; access to the hotel and ease of finding. air con in the room The room was on the small side
I stayed for three nights. My room was clean and adequate and normal for this type of reservation. Breakfast was adequate and typical for France. Easy access to the hotel from freeway. TV channels excellent incl CNN I requested a non smoking room and was given one. However strong cigarette smoke odours pervaded the access corridor to my room and at times I could smell cig smoke in the room.
pleasant and easy stop with friendly staff
Very easy to find right by main road junction. Efficient reception, facilities pretty much as expected for a budget priced chain hotel. Plenty of choice for continental breakfast. Room very basic, only one pillow per person and no more available. Probably slightly overpriced compared to similar chains.
Plactic bathroom Cubicle. Very basic reception, bar , dining room and seating area combined.
Poor position, tiny room and tiny bathroom (I only weigh 8 stone but if anyone was bigger they would find it difficult to get in and out of the bathroom), bathroom door wouldn't close which meant we had to use the public toilet along the corridor, poor view of a garden shed.
Staff excellent and good value for money Nothing
Staff and the speed of the internet.
Value for money and easy to get to, local amenities eg restaurant, shops close by Not enough pillows
Having to wait until 0800hs for breakfast
The lake and setting were lovely. The room smelled of cigar smoke. The food in their restaurant was overpriced and varied from adequate to terrible. As an example of the latter, we would cite the "Menu du Terroir" that was virtually inedible, and a "crème brulée" that tasted like instant pudding. Shame on this hotel for dishonoring the French cuizine!!
The friendliness of the staff and their attention to detail.
Hotel rooms were excellent, just renovated, staff also very friendly, and excellent quiet location right next to the lake. Well recommended and very good value for the money.
Comfortable beds and DVD player in the room
The location is nice. The room was terrible with noisy air conditioning unit next to our window and the staff not very helpful. The latter is probably because they did not have enough people - just one person doing pretty much everything, except for the cleaning.
the location was very agreeable, it was conveniently located and quiet. Staff were helpful, and there are not a lot of good hotels to choose from in the Foix area the breakfast buffet was not good value and I am glad I did not choose to pay for it
good area for parking and quiet and lovely painting on the headboard; clean sheets and bathroom, good breakfast. disinterested receptionist, restaurant was closed as it was a Sunday night, although the restaurant had been advertised and it was one of the reasons we booked there.it was a long way out of town and thus we had to get back in the car to go to the town. a dishevilled shabby feel to this hotel, with worn out carpets etc
Nothing Tiny room, shoddy equipment, suffocating stench in room, air-conditioner did not work--manager refused to look at it or fix it, staff rude and unhelpful
We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful, particulary the young lady who acted as receptionist/maitre dix in the restaurant. We would prefer to have had a proper shower and more space to "put" things
Beautiful building and gardens with swimming pool.
The help and attitude of staff was really good. Food was well above average for a three star hotel. Good secure car parking.
A nice location with a great courtyard dining area - although we arrived too late for the pool that looked good too. A good stopover
Very good hotel. Service and food excellent.
Staff were so welcoming. The food in the restaurant was excellent - one of the best meals we have ever had.
Convenient location, clean rooms, helpful staff, and comfortable beds ensuring a good night's rest. Good for an overnight stay as we were on way to northern France rooms rather small for 3 people, although we managed. Had booked for 3, but when we arrived the 'ancillaries' - towels, cups, coffee, soap etc were only for 2. Rather expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at.
Classic Campanile with all its good qualities
good parking and nice place
Very clean and modern bathroom Small motel type rooms. Could be soundproofed better. Though might be about right for the price
The place and the staff
the WIFI the menu was not adapted for vegetarians and there was only one fish dish offered
one night stay, with family, facilities and service rather basic for the price charged, good location to visit city and surrounding smell of smoke, even if non smoking facilities, impossible to find (known problem to staff); but signs cannot be read from main street
I suppose that a Campanile is a Campanile - it is what it is and I did not like it and its lack of services. Lack of lounge or bar. They could (would?) not serve a drink at about 11 o'clock in the evening
Quiet, pleasant spot quite convenient for Foix (if you have transport). All you need for a short stay. Excellent restaurant to be recommended both for dinner and breakfast. A very pleasant place to stop.
The signs for the hotel are badly placed, almost non- existent. The hotel might be 3kms from Foix, but, it is 6kms? From centre-ville, which is very important.
Brilliant and attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble
very friendly and accomodating owner/chef. She is very good cook, and had a good place to store our bikes.
La Barguillere is an authentic traditional-style French tavern and augerge in the heart of the Pyrenees. The rooms are simple, clean and full of character. The staff is friendly- almost like family. Meals and wines are the best in the valley, probably the region. The kitchen cooks with local, fresh, organic- slow food style. All very enjoyable. Go for the meals if you can't stay for the lodging. The longer I stayed- the more I appreciated La Barguillere. In fact I stayed there twice in one trip.
Friendly proprietor and excellent food. Somewhat noisy by roadside
nice and warm hotel. you feel at home with the family style welcome of the owners. The owner is an excellent chef and dinner was very tasty. no
The new owner, Mme Landes, is a natural hostess and excellent cook - she made us feel wonderfully welcome, was attentive to extra needs, and provided very good breakfasts and evening meals, using locally sourced food and wine. Our room had an external terrace which we enjoyed. No. Those booking in future should note that the management changed this season (we had no idea of this from the website) so reviews from previous years may mislead. The new owner offers (as far as we could see) a more sophisticated experience.
This is a new development of appartment hotel & all the equipement etc is brand new & good quality. Lack of attention to detail (no stair rail: no bedroom mirror etc) means it compares poorly with similar hotels we have used. Difficult to find - even the local villagers did not know it was open for business. A appartment hotel needs a good quality range of local services (restaurants etc) & these don't exist.
Fabulous location and views, interest and rarity value, size and luxurious comfort of room (was more like an apartment with equipped kitchen), warm and personal welcome. A fantastic find.
clean and comfortable. but no one there when we arrived and we had to phone them to come and let us in at 3pm in the afternoon.
Great location, comfortable, friendly staff and lovely views from the garden. Lack of air conditioning.
We were all very happy with this Hotel. Staff were professional and service was personal and excellent. For a two star Hotel we were very pleasantly surprised. Our children enjoyed the play area and we all enjoyed the swimming pool. I would recommend it.
Easy to find Plenty of parking excellent food at evening meal Helpful staff Nearby supermarket Hotel did not open until 8am (literally the door to the foyer/reception from the room corridor was locked) I would have prefered not to have half board, even though the food was very good. It may not have been an option or not clear that b & b was available. On ititial viewing the room was horrible, light electric blue curtains and multi-colour bedspread with lots of formica - a bit 1970'S. Breakfastfairly basic.
the view..amazing.. our first room was in very poor condition and smelt of damp. we asked to change because of this, which wasn't a problem, but then they went on to charge us more for the new room!i thought this was poor from their point of view.however, the new room was a vast improvement, much better condition/decoration, and the view was fantastic! they charged 7.50 euro per breakfast, which again was poor value - cereal with croissants, toast, hard rolls and jam, no ham or cheese or anything with it.not worth the money.also when we came to leave, they totted up the bill which was over 500 euro for a 3 night stay. luckily i had printed the email from booking.com and they had to honour that..on a good note however, the hotel was spotlessly clean.
I would have no problem recommending this hotel and staying there again. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was excellent value for money. The resturaunt in particular was superb and came as a great surpise/bonus. n/a
Friendly staff and good food.
Great food comfortable rooms
staff were very accomodating, rooms were basic but clean ,the food was nice, late booking in.
The Menu of the day at 19 Euros for three courses was good value The room was had everything you needed could have just done with a little up dating.
The hotel was great, The woman friendly and she has good english. It was very comfortable and the food was good. I think the showers had been fitted fairly recently and mine and my friends were not working.
Friendly and very helpful owners, room large and comfortable. breakfast and dinner fabulous!
The hotel is located in a small, pleasant town. Spacious, well furnished (in a rustic fashion) and very clean room. New and very clean bathroom. Reasonable breakfast (and good coffee - for France). The owners are multi-lingual. So that the owners can maintain a good work-life balance the restaurant is closed a couple of days each week (it was closed when we were there and we went to a nearby town for dinner).
