Everything about the hotel, the rooms, the staff and the breakfast were great. The access to Penefiel and the wine country was easy and while we didn't get to take advantage of the spa, it looked exceptional. The hotel is in a semi deserted village surrounded by delapidated falling down casas. It was very unnerveing driving up to the place. Very uncomfortable.
The hotel is very well designed and decorated with a peaceful atmosphere. It could have been rather 'snooty', but the owners and staff were very approchable.
good service, good restaurant, excelent service in spa area, big rooms poor indicated from the main road
It was an outstanding experience, from getting their help with wine tours to wonderful dinners and the spa.
The owner and the hotel staff are extremely friendly. They helped us out in arranging wine cellar visits. Also the hotel itself is unique in its design and feel.
Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful For a four star hotel I would have expected to have a bathroom with a bath and tea and coffee facilities available in the room. We also had two beds pushed together which is not ideal. But the hotel is beautiful and well placed. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the food for breakfast and the restaurant were delicious. The open space for relaxing works very well. Spa is a little overpriced
Very peaceful calm atmosphere - the Spa was very well equipped . The surrounding area is not beautiful but of interest to wine lovers
Very adequate room No forewarning about the noise from wedding reception guests on Saturday pm/Sunday am. Dangerously slippery shower base.
Nicely reformed convent, excellent for discovering the Ribera wine region. Excellent Ribera del Duero winelist at very moderate prices.
A really outstanding hotel. Excellent bedroom. Perfect staff. Perfect position. Secure parking. Swimming pool. Nothing!
A very pleasant surprise. Comfortable room with modern conveniences, nice lobby, interesting refurbishment of an old convent, good dining room, all in a small town in the Ribera del Duero wine region of Spain.
.Well locate for our wine tour. Very nice architecture. Good parking. Quiet and comfortable No internet connection at the room.
Great architecture, perfect location, very nice furniture, excellent restaurant. Wish we had been there for a longer stay. We travel to many loacations and stay in many hotels, this was a very pleasant suprise difficult to find as the Garmin takes you to the wrong location
room view of penafiel castle lit up on the hill-magical. Wonderful courtyard/cloister. Position next to the old town and river.Relaxed ambience and peaceful. Good breakfast but wouldn't reccommend the evening meal unless you are into gourmet food and small portions. €11 for a small bowl of onion soup set the tone
The Staff were very friendly - we were staying during one of the World Cup Spain matches - they had a big screen set up with tapas etc in the cloisters - lots of fun. No
Location The rom, reception and corridor stink/smell really bad smoke cigarretes. lied about tv channels!!!!!!!!!!!! Pay extra money to your hotel for nothing I coud not watch channel I wanted as you advertised satelite tv!!! Restaurant food not available at the cafe or restaurant until pm.resumen: olor a cigarrillos en porteria, habitacion y corredores. no me gusta que me enganen anuncian tv channels y luego cuando protestas te dicen que me tengo que aguantar, solo tienen canales basicos. no me gusta que me enganen con la comida no te sirven comida hasta las 9 de la noche y anuncian puedes ir a la cafeteria a cualquier hora.
Friendly, competent staff, even though, to our shame, we speak little Spanish. Evening meal was very good in the restaurant and the breakfast copious.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean good beds and cot. Very good restaurant.
Excellent front desk staff Everything said in one room can be heard in the hall and in adjacent rooms.
Hotel was clean and they had a restaurant and cafe/bar. It was close to the city center. If you go, brush up on your spanish. This whole area of Spain do not speak much English.
Restaurant was very cheap but good quality. Breakfast open till 11.00 in the weekends. Staff at the reception was not very helpfull in finding information. For example: They were not able to find taxi's for us.
Close to the city center. Good view of the castle. Two twin beds pushed together to make a queen. At least use queen sheets so the beds don't separate.
the cafe bar was open for food when the restaurants in penefiel were shut
The receptionist was rude. Our room was not ready even though we arrived at 4.30 in the afternoon. We expected a room with a view of the castle but were given a room with a view of a concrete wall. After complaining and arguing with reception, we were eventually given a room at the front of the hotel with a view. The hotel was totally unexceptional in its style and facilities.
