The price The best was extremely hard!
excellent amenities and good food beds not very comfortable
The amount of facility's that was available. The bed was like trying to sleep on a slab of concrete.
friendly, polite, entertainment, clean comfortable rooms
The mattress was a combination of being extremely poor quality & extremely old resulting in uncomfortable nights sleep.
The staff were excellent This hotel is in dire need of modernisation and, in particular. the bedrooms. £80 per night for this standard of hotel is too much. The website is misleading.
not to busy and in a good spot
Cosy & excellent value on special promotions. None
Fantastic Staff - brilliant location Only 1 radiator worked in the suite - cold at times. Only 1 window capable of opening - rest were screwed shut!!!
Check iN was efficient One of the two rooms I booked was in an abysmal position. Having to pay for two nights when I only wanted one was also annoying. Breakfast was way too expensive as was the bar prices
The hotel is very stuffy and mostly for eldery people. the lounge and the bar where very quiet and did not have a relaxed atmosphere
staff most helpful and we were fortunate to have an upgrade of room as a result of our membership . We were at Blackpool for a show, unfortunately Restaurant did not open until 1900hrs too late for us however this is not a complaint under normal circumstances we would not eat so early.
nothing the food was late and cold
everything the weather
A lovely hotel, we had a really nice stay.
Location. Oasis. Breakfast queues.
Been staying at your hotel for the past five years in november and we have always had a pleasent stay, nice and relaxing atmosphere friendly staff and good food..
the hotel was very nice and the staff were very freindly and helpful, there prices were reasonable, but for families it could run out a bit expensive. as for my wife and i it was okay and we would definatlet go back
the package i booked was fab value for money and we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge
The hotel is in a good location with all the top class amenities you'd expect of a venue of this standard. All the staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant. Restaurant staff especially made you feel relaxed and were a good laugh. Have been before and will definitely return.
We got what we expected
the size of the rooms, the staff in the bar very customer focused. the hot ice package very good value for money and excellent breakfast menu. dvd didn't work very well, and there was dust under the tv, when checking package wasn't explained it was only on asking did we find out what was included.
Close to the pleasure beach. Home from home. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. Having to go home.
everyone was so freindly and helpful the food was fantastic very clean very modern great choice of wines the rooms were of a very good stanard could not fault the hotel in any way
Big room, friendly service and ease of access to Blackpool Promenade The Breakfast Buffet seemed disorganised as we had to wait nearly half an hour to get a table. When we got to our table, there were many tables not filled around us. They don't seem to be able to have enough staff/tables to accomodate all guests in a full hotel.
it was a very clean and staff were so helpful, room was amazing, had a great stay and will be returning.
Welcoming, friendly reception staff. Spacious comfortable room with air conditioning, big bed and beautiful bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Overall a very nice hotel, the breakfasts were amazing! The rooms were pretty basic, bedside lights did not work, no batteries in tv/dvd remotes, bathroom linen could have been better (no flannels or bath robes) Very noisey during the night!
The location of the hotel and the parking facilities. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
The bar staff were really nice The matress was a disgrace you could feel the springs through also we were wakened with banging at 7.45 from workmen in another room
we order a breakfast in room, and it wasnt nice at all, i had a upset stomach after eating it...
Location was brilliant. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to queue for breakfast in the morning.
Leaving Value for money
It was nice and homely.
Would have liked sky tv in the room.
Proximity to transport facilities
at the arival to the hotel the hotel had a different rate then it was originaly stated in my booking after sorting it out with hotel manager the rate was corrected but was at great inconvenience.
It ticked all the boxes Paying to park, the room rates are high enough to cover this
The hotel was very clean, the choice of food was good The hotel could do with 2 more lifts, there were a lot of disabled guests staying and the lifts are only large enough for 1 chair, creating a long wait for the others travelling in that party.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were charming and the breakfasts were fantastic ! We were joined by other members of our family for dinner and they too thought it all superb ! Will definitely go back !
Returning to this Hotel after very many visits,I found,(as always,)that the room was exremely comfortable and very well appointed. Moreover it was quiet and restful. The great advantage of this Hotel is that it is set in rural surroundings(the peaceful Village of Mellor,),yet is close to the Centre of Blackburn.and is easily accessible from the Motorways.Food is also extremely good. All in all, very good value for money. There is nothing to dislike about this Hotel. The atmosphere is that of a Country Inn,yet combining all the facilities one would expect in a central City Hotel.I stay at it every year on an annual visit to Blackburn.I have never been disappointed.
From the welcome when I arrived to the efficiency of the check-out, my experience at the Millsone was first class. The restaurant staff were 5 star.
The quality and choice of food is excellent. The noise of the kitchen fans was fairly bad but at least they were switched off at 11pm!
the room was big enough, clean and nice decor. Breakfast was good.Countryside was beautiful. Unable to dine on Saturday night in resteraunt or bar, Should book table when booking hotel. Shortage of towels in bathroom.
Good breakfast Comfortable bed Pleasant hotel Looking a little tired. Carpets have been down for a very long time and could well be replaced, particularly in the bedroom.
Good food, good bar with decent beer. Room clean and well furnished, not modern but functional. wireless signal didnt reach to the room
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was top notch. The room and in particular the bathroom was getting a little tired and in need of an upgrade.
Small, comfortable room with large comfortable bed. Excellent dining room with good wine selection. Also a wide selection of bar meals and local beer.
There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The food was amazing and the room comfortable and had everything you needed.
A first class personal service, comfortable beds and excellent breakfasts and dinner
the service was impecible, the staff very friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic
So welcoming . great food and atmosphere and service great bed and bathroom None
just excellent in every way : room, breakfest
the decor was exceptional, the food excellent, the welcome very friendly no!
The hosts, the food and the attention to detail for comfort.
peace and quiet - easy access to Lancaster and district
Where to begin? James & Co. are really doing an amazing job. The other reviews aren't exaggerations; this place is simply wonderful. Pity that we won't be back to Lancaster again soon. Interesting beer from HRH The Prince of Wales. Good English wine and conversation. Tea with fresh scones and cream when we arrived one Friday morning a few weeks ago... Wo anzufangen? James & Co. machen wirklich erstaunlich. Dog somewhat easily distracted. At some times, some of the chickens weren't immediately visible from the room window. Der Hund lässt sich leicht ablenken. Manchmal waren manche der Hühner nicht sofort zu sehen vom Zimmerfenster.
The room was comfortable and clean. Overpriced for what it offered and it's location.
Excellent hotel staff very friendly room 4 excellent room would stay again & recommend to anyone
the staff is very helpful and polite ..... hotel is clean and new...... room is also clean, relaxing and new with a amazing sea view from the balcony. everything was just perfect.....thanks you guys from Number One South Beach!!! i will definitly be back and recommend my friends to stay at ur hotel!! nope .........
Probably the best hotel in Blackpool. The standard of the rooms, facilities and staff were the highest quality. It was obvious that the proprietor and his staff took pride in taking care of guests and providing an excellent service on a personal level to everyone. The rooms had the latest modern equipment in the bedroom and bathroom and the food in the restaurant was very good. I will defintely come back here the next time we're in Blackpool.
we both loved this hotel could not fault it excellent best hotel have ever been to
A beautifully, modern decorated hotel with quality furnture and fittings which is extremely clean and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful in advising a restaurant to eat in. The breakfast menu was superb. Situated just off the main promenade between central and south piers. A must for couples wanting something a little bit more upmarket whilst in Blackpool.
Very comfortable hotel to stay at.
Very good hotel with welcoming staff. A long walk to the room. The room was quite cold but a heater was provided on request.
The cleanliness of the room and the general warmth and comfort of the hotel The cooked breakfast was very disappointing. It was very oily and tasted like it had all been cooked in the same pan!! It sounded far nicer on the menu than it actually was.
Diner was not acceptable at the price very poor.
location, food, service
Strong smell of drains in the public area, repairs were on going.
When we arrived the room given to us had no heating working, the front desk were very helpful and moved us to another room. However this also had no heating but again we were pleased the way it was handled by staff, an electric heater was installed. These things happen but it was the way it was put right that impressed us.
Room Service was disappointing - slow service, food was not as listed and expensive for the quality.
Very helpful staff, who were more than eager to please
The hotel provides only three disabled parking spaces - and fails to'police' those.
small but well equipped room Plastic backed mattress cover
Great Time, Staff very attentive None
Asked staff 3 things about my stay was told would get back to me never did, bar staff kept disapering from bar to serve food had to waite for them to return, would not sell coffe late at night if bar busy but could get coffe after most guest gone to bed.
Good Food Not near a town for off site food etc
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent facilities. Evening meal was delicious. None to note
Staff courteous friendly, hotel had nice layout, and quiet. On arrival, I stepped on a large piece of discarded chewing gum at the entrance to the hotel. The heel of my shoe took the brunt. The staff gave me a bucket of ice and a knife (brought to my room) for me to try to get it off. The gum had stuck into the grooves of the sides my heel. I could not get it off. On checking out, I once again stepped on chewing gum when leaving the hotel. This time I could not get it off the sole of my shoe, I found that my shoe was sticking to my pedals on the car. Subsequently I now need to have my shoes reheeled at the cobblers as I cannot get the chewing gum off. A disgusting experience. They really should check the entrance for cleanliness.
it was a beautiful room, so comfortable, and the food was of the highest standard, such a fantastic choice of well cooked, tasty breakfast food Nothing at all. it had everything we wanted in a hotel
The welcome on arrival, the comfort and appointment of the room including the bathroom and the splendid breakfast. The slowness of th computer at check out and the misinformation regarding my bill for drinks and snack in the bar; the mistake was eventually fixed and there was no dispute but the cashier was very slow to cope with this minor irregularity.
Disability access excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Speeed of checkout excellent. Wedding party guests included yopung children running around the bar area. Perhaps better segregation of noisy guests or a quiet resident guest area.
Fantastic breakfast, great location, just generally a good experience. The only complaint we have is about the evening meal - the dish wasn't as explained by the waiter and the service was slow. In addition, it wasn't good value for money.
Supremely comfortable bed gave us the best nights sleep in ages! The walls are "paper" thin and noisy if other guests choose to be a bit loud; the bathrooms need a makeover now
Room and View Bedroom a bit to warm
Ease of finding it Restaurant is poor, menu is the worst I have encountered in a 4* establishment. Bar and restaurant prices inflated (£4.55 regular glass of house wine, £26 for 3 course basic menu that was almost inedible). Noise levels through the night into early morning (0500) from their outside hot tub area. Do you want anything else?
No problems at all; only stayed overnight. Some people may think new restaurant is a little like a cafe, rather than an exclusive hotel facility. However, no adverse comment from us.
The friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff,it was also easy to find and a very relaxing break.
Very handy for the university. Nothing that I did not like.
Pretty designed Country Hotel with sufficient spaces and comfort. Entrance hall and bar very convenient, especially open fire place. Meantime the hotel starts to suffer from lack of maintanence; i.e. hall door closes with hard bang, entrance doors very narrow, don´t open automatically, difficult to enter with luggage, interior should be improved to keep 4star category.
Our sat nat kept giving us the wrong Green Lane in Lancaster. The night porter gave us very clear directions to the hotel and was very welcoming when we arrived. We only stayed one night arriving very late but the food. ambience and service at breakfast was excellent.
I thought the breakfast was excellent, in all aspects, as good as I have ever experienced. Neither my wife or I slept at all during the night, due to an exceptionally loud snorer in the adjacent room, so I would have to say the sound insulation between bedrooms was totally inadequate. This coloured our view of the hotel, to the extent that we would probably not take the chance again. Unfortunate, since everything else was good.
The breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. The bathroom was a god size. having a blind on the window was also a good idea. The adjoining restaurant looked like it had closed down from the exterior. I couldn't get 3 of four of the room lights to work. It feels like its lost its soul and would be better at half of its size.
Comfortable rooms, excellent food and efficient and friendly staff made for a very pleasurable stay.
the bed in my room ................fantastic...........most restfull.........l want one at home reception area was a let down only one client at a time seen to reception desk was low down and we had to wait while guest sorted out trivial matters for 20 mins whilst we just wanted to book in more reception staff needed
A very pleasant stay - very friendly staff in reception and The Walled Garden restaurant. Ideal for a trip to Blackpool without staying in the town. Well placed on the A6 and a couple of miles from the M55 and M6 - but it was not noisy. Bedroom was very warm
service good - location good - food outlets and ambience good. rooms too hot for the time of the year.
Excellent quality of food.
Friendliness of staff, quality of food, a hassle free experience. Do not like foam pillows, would have preferred a choice i.e. feather or down.
Service, food, swimming pool & helpful staff. Being placed in a 'garden room' at the perimeter of the car park. Would much rather have been in the main hotel.
Clean room, very friendly staff, convenient location and room facilities - ironing board and iron, mini bar etc... were very good. Food and drink options seemed to end early, 2130, so a late meal, which would have been useful for my situation, was a non starter - however bar staff were friendly.
friendly efficient staff with great food very comfortable lounge for pre dinner drinks
We stayed in the executive suite and it was great. Particluarly like the small touches, such as fresh coffee and a cafetiere in our bedroom. The breakfast was excellent.
Decor of room excellent, breakfast very good. Car parking nightmare & not adequately explained. Unacceptable to have to leave room to keep'moving' car - paying considerable parking, walking distances in rain etc. Room also way toohot with noobvious means of cooling - windows not opening.
Staff were professional and friendly. May be as a minor point put some 'night service' on as we couldnt get a drink after 9.00pm as the bar was too busy.
Nice bar and food, staff very friendly Bit noisy in the street below (central location)
Room and breakfast
We thought the staff were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful and big as was the bed. It has a really nice relaxing atmosphere and we'll definitely recommend and come back.
The hotel was ideally situated, and the room had been fitted out beautifully. Whilst in the shower, the hot light fitting fell out of the celing on to my husband's chest. Upon reporting this to staff, there was no apology.
Everything. The room was lovely, well appointed and cared for, the breakfasts were delicious! I had just found out that my painful 'sprain' was a broken leg(!) and they could not have been more kind and helpful no
helpful staff and delicious breakfast pity there was no on-site parking, but the Parksafe park was very handy and reasonably priced
The room was delightful and in the attic!
I thought the drinks were very expensive, £11 for 3 drinks in the bar. I also didn't like th efact that you can hear everything outside your room when ignorant people are walking past in the evening. Can I suggest that you have staff on each corridor at night making people aware that they need to keep the noise down as people are trying to sleep.
An excellent hotel, great location, friendly staff
location and surroundings room view and lack of air conditioning
everything was lovely - very satisfied
pool and room itself was OK Room 117 has terrible view and rooms seems dark-would not come back to that floor again. No staff in gym to ask about equipment.
Facilities were good as was the breakfast. Rooms were tired looking and the equipment was dated. Guests allowed to smoke throughout corridors despite no smoking signage. Noise from function rooms below bedrooms can be heard into early hours of morning and then noise from guests who attended function as they come back to thier room.
The room was comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly
Can't say enough about the helpfullness and quality of the staff. First rate. The "Nineteen" restaurant was very good and value for money. Bedroom was smaller than anticipated. Brasserie did not represent value for money due to limited (and slightly pretentious) menu.
the hotel location, pool, and staff + a very good breakfast with lots of choice rooms are a bit dated but still nice
room small, facilaties not all that
