The Hotel was right across the road from the beach very handy, is this place a beautiful seaside town? No its a good stop over if your travelling to France as I did, the facilities were good and the staff were very helpful. You must book a car park and the parking itself is a nightmare.
It was not too far from the beach. Cost of the hotel was reasonable. Nice staff. No everything was pretty straight ahead.
Staff were friendly and helpful unfortunately as there was a low occupancy there was a problem getting hot water. It would have been nice to have fresh fruit for breakfast.
Playa and playa and good start for the Cinq Terre park as well as the Porto Fino Coast
It was available Location, Cost, Restaurant Food.
Good location and good communication No WiFi, they were out of codes that were needed. Very narrow parkinggarage. Some staff did not speak english.
Near to the beach. No parking places.
The village of Cavi isn't so intersting, but it's very close to Sestri Levante
Peaceful location close to the main attractions I would kave preferred an en-suite but this was not available
The location is perfect, less than 5 minutes from the beach (100 steps though), with nice view, quiet place. Also the village is a genuine one, not a tourist trap as almost everywhere in surroundings. Staff was very friendly; on the last day we had to depart early and got packed breakfast within a few seconds. The room we stayed in required renovation, beds were VERY uncomfortable. Breakfast is limited. Given the standard the establishment is overpriced - but this is true with almost all hotels at the seaside in Italy.
Hospitality and friendliness of owners. Sharing a bathroom(WC).
Helpful staff, family atmosphere, close to the beach & the small village.. In need for refurbishment, although not a problem with the bathroom at the end of the coridor, ensuite rooms are a necessity for hotels these days I reckon. A bit uncomfortable beds..
nice place, super food. very nice people/staff. signs for the hotel too small, hard to find.
Ideal location; therefore, no traffic noise; one can hear crickets singing. Parking available. Friendly staff; suitable atmosphere for families. Room soundproofing not good. Uncomfortable beds, old furniture, no soap in the shower. Also breakfast is very skimpy, it would be nice to have some cereals and fruits included. Loud television in the dining room. Too expensive for 1 star hotel.
Nice people and adequate hotel. the price was a bit on the high end
Nothing Room equipment
We loved our time here! It is a small, family run pension and we felt very welcomed. The rooms are nice, clean and airy. There is art and attention to decoration throughout to add some ambiance. It was close to the beach, but not right on the beach--in fact our room's balcony overlooked the nearby hills (which are beautiful as well). Take advantage of dinner at the restaurant--it was the best meal we had in Italy. We came via train, so arrived on foot. It can be a bit of an adventure to locate, so use the map they provide on the web site.
The young couple who run the place were delightful. Very warm and friendly. The location of the hotel was lovely, in a quiet neighbourhood yet within walking distance of the beach. Our bed was uncomfortable, too soft mattress, and we didn't have a private toilet (but since the hotel was not full, it didn't really bother us)
Friendly and helpful staff, the hotell was clean and nice, the location of the hotel was great There was no air conditioning. I would have preferred freshly baked bakery products on the breakfast.
The suite we stayed in was ideal for a family. L'Albergo e favoloso
Very helpful staff, nice music in breakfast time, a nice sunny terrace, nice neighbors.
It's convenient for tourist as there's car park. Hotel staff is very warm. None
LARGE BALCONY COMFORTABLE ROOM. FREE INTERNET. COFFEE COLD FIRST THREE BREAKFASTS THEN WHOLE BREAKFAST AREA IMPROVED
The location was great. The amenities were good. Great to have air-conditioning. We got many bites from bed bugs.
Great location in a pretty and vibrant town Dining room is dated and in need refurbishment.
Friendly staff at reception, great location the breakfast staff were not very helpful, coffee was brought when we had almost finished eating.
It's not like me to leave a bad review. This hotel is in a good location for Chiavari but question why you want to be in Chiavari anyway. Nice to visit and shop for a day but stay somewhere else. The room here are very unispiring. Rooms dull and small. Town dead at night. Not a great place.
Staff were very helpful with toursim tips and we arrived quite early and they let us go into our room before check in time.Breakfast was great
Service and location Room is very small and overpriced, at least, for the Easter period. Internet (5 Euro for 40 min) is practically inaccessible.
Excellent views and a superb resturaunt with views across the bay. good pool. Rooms a bit noisy with flushing water from other rooms.
Very friendly staff.
The location is execellent. view is breathtaking, situated near the centre of Sestri Levante. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The rooms are very small and noisy.
View Driveway to the hotel was very steep and curvy. Suggest leaving car at bottom of hill and taking lift to the hotel.
The hotel and views are just beautiful. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. As in most hotels in europe, using our eledtrical devices are never easy. I think either additional adapters should be provided or more outlets??
Hotel is located in a beautiful lush setting with views of the Mediterranean from certain areas (restaurant, bar and pool area, some restaurants) and within easy walking distance of beaches and the shops. Other rooms have good views of the surrounding hillsides. not a big issue but people should be aware rooms are on the small side
The views from the hotel are stunning. The food was excellent, though quite expensive, though not much more than restaurants in town. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We felt hotel was above our expectations.
I have nothing but raves about this hotel, its accommodating staff, the beauty of its location and the fabulous food and rooms - not one has a bad view. I would say there is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. People who go there should know , because it is high on a hill you have to take an elevator down to the beach - that doesn't mean the beach is across the street from the elevator. It involves a walk through town about 6 blocks and crossing a major street.
The view from the restaurant was superb, the pool staff (especially attentive, helpful and eager to communicate) and pool facility was excellent. Perhaps I would specify a room with view on next visit.
Rooms were large and comfortable, very clean. Right across the road from beach and in the heart of shopping and sites. 10min walk to railway. Front rooms that fronted the street were noisy, very noisy till very late at night. Changed to room at back of hotel and all was better.
great location right next to the beach, place was filled with antiques and had lots of character. Despite very central location it was a haven of tranquility. Bathroom was dated. Overall a little expensive for the standard delivered.
the hotel is very close to the beach and Cinque Terra by train .
People at the reception were incredibly nice and friendly. Our room was really clean and comfortable. The hotel also benefits of an amazing location, in a quiet residential area, just in between the sea front and the main shopping street. Buffet breakfast was great!
Somewhat pricey but an outstanding location, and great and helpfull staff
Great location. Specious rooms with nice balcony. Nice outdoor terrasse - good breakfast.
Close to the beach, close to shops, overall nice building, staff very kind absolutely. Noise of not isolated water pipes in the room. Could not sleep when people in adiacent rooms used bathroom facilities.
Nice setting, beautiful furniture, quiet, good size rooms, close to nice restaurents, close to the beach Quality of breakfast inferior compared to hotel status and price
The hotel was luxurious, the staff excellent and the food was top class. The food at the Nettuno ,owned by the same family, was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
everything no problems
the hotel itself, cleanliness of the room, additional facilities like the private beach, courtesy and efficiency of the personnel, the beautiful location, the park around the hotel, the view from the hotel
Views from top of the hotel plus the setting
superb kitchen/chef at excellent price for value. room was huge, redone and had magnificent balcony/view. staff helped with complicated directions and internet. extraordinary location with a private park overlooking ligurian sea. liked it all.
Nice castle hotel in a charming seaside town with easy access to Cinqueterre and Portofino area.Perfect views nice people delicious buffet breakfast.Everything luxurious and genuine. We loved it and would go back again !
Beautiful hotel with exceptionally pretty grounds. Nice staff. Wonderful location No complaints
It was absolutely beautiful, very clean, wonderful breakfast, great restaurant and bar, and everyone was very accomodating. We hope to go back. No, it was perfect!
The building was very beautiful While staff were friendly we had to ask them for information e.g. where breakfast was served and at what time. some basic written info in the room would have been helpful
Fantastic Location. Good breakfast
The views. The lack of common areas to relax. When the weather was bad there was no where to go except your room.
Wonderful old hotel newly renovated, but retains a lovely, historical feel. Perfectly located to walk anywhere - breakfast was outstanding! We had mosquitoes in our room - husband was seveerly bitten during our stay here.
Location, staff, service small bathroom
Hotel is a treasure trove of beautiful things. Bedroom was very comfortable. While it was possible to have a very enjoyable breakfast, the variety of fresh fruit was limited. They need to source an unsweetened muesli and of better quality. The cheese was supplied in pre packs, as were the honeys and jams, it was a pity not to be able to sample the wonderful cheeses of the region.
It was an amazing experience: beautiful, clean rooms; friendly, helpful staff; warm, neighborhood atmosphere.
We liked the hotell very much and would say that it clearly a very good alternative. Nice pools good staff. The breakfast was ok, terrible juice machine but if you ask they will make feshly squeezed juice and then its great. Sestri Levantes beach is a bit industrial with houndreds of umberellas.
A stylish hotel with attractive gardens/ bar and swimming pool - has an Agatha Christie atmosphere of rather sinister traditional elegance. Just by the beach - good views. Sestri Levante is a dreadful, touristy, very limited place - we wouldn't go back. Avoid it in the holiday season! We got badly bitten by mosquitoes in the pretty hotel garden. The breakfast crockery was dirty and food disapointing, mainly pre-packaged.
The nearby beach and the swimmingpool was both excellent and the staff was very nice
nice hotel, nice garden and pool.Besaide the most beautiful beach Very small room for the price
Hotel is old, with antiques all over the place and full of character
Afternoon coffee in the shady and mature garden was delightful. Relaxing around the pristine outdoor pool. The public rooms were kept scrupulously clean. The bathroom in our superior room was very cramped and in need of updating. The shower cubicle was so small it was impossible to do anything but stand there and I am not fat. The food was unexciting.
Nothing Staff were not that friendly and seemed to be looking for ways to charge extras if they could get away with it. Inefficient in bill checkout proceedure.
Very pleasant staff and good food
Helpful staff and convenient restaurant across road
Helpful staff. Good value breakfast. Rooms good size. Free bikes for visiting the town. Free wifi. Parking was cheap but has doubled in price recently. Position not as envisaged - thought was on the beach. Was quite expensive (but thius was high season).
Staff was very pleasant and helpful, cheerfully helping us with any problems or questions. The secure parking area was easy to use and inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. (5 Euros per day). Hotel was located half way between Portofino and Cinque Terre making both an easy day trip. Cinque Terre by train and Portofino buy car (note: Driving to Portofino by car should be considered an extreme sport and not for the faint of heart)
Very friendly staff Loud airco kept us up all night! Failing warm watersupply was a big downer!
Hotel staff very friendly and happy to give out useful information of the area. Clean rooms. no
Breakfast room renovation during our stay, thus ultra modest facilities in cafe nearby
the hotel is close to the chiavari train station (5min on foot) and is close to the unpaid free beach (7 min). Hotel restaurant is really amazing! you should definetly have dinner there atleast once! seafood ofcourse! staff are very welcoming and tried their best to advice us on what to do. they know more though of paid beaches, so you should reseach yourself on where the closest unpaid beach is (right next to the port just a pass away from the hotel). staff also adviced us on friday market around the corner! and you can get ferry tickets right at the reception. hotel has free wifi, but unfortunately we did not have a notebook, and the hotel does not offer an internet corner. but the staff allowed us to check our emails on their computer which was very nice of them!
Good Money&comfort balance
The size and appearance of the room and the friendliness of the staff The busyness of the road outside
The rooms were clean, modern and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were larger than most European Hotel rooms. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was perfect for starting the morning out. The noise from the train station.
location and price in comparison to others advertised on the web no complaints,
Noise, proximity of the railway
The front desk staff was the best that we encountered during a month long visit to Italy. They were knowledgeable ,and pleasant and really set the tone of hospitality. The hotel is small but the rooms were not cramped and though the train station is convenienttly nearby the rooms were soundproof. The beach and the old city were near and we liked the location very much. The breakfast was good and we would choose Ferrari again. We asked for the most accessible rooms because we were worried about the lack of an elevator. The stairs proved to be easy for us seniors--they are not steep and there is a landing midway so they posed no problem.
A very comfortable hotel, where the staff were exteremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious well appointed and very comfortable. Being only a street away from the railway line, the train noise through the noight was really bad!
The decoration, the ambiance, the cleanliness
The hotel is beautifully restored, still kept ethically to the original style of building, however, with a modern touch. Really nice rooms with beautiful bathrooms! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lovely Mediterranean. We chose to dine at the hotel 3 nights of our stay. We where here served a three-course dinner consisting of classic Italian food which was well-prepared by the chef. Everyday we experienced both the hotel and the rooms as being clean and well-kept. A small welcoming hotel which deserves a “+” in association with its 3 stars.
Loved the 'look' of the hotel and the wonderful terrace and outdoor spaces. also liked the it was close to the beach and had a swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was supposed to have a 'garden' view but really had no view as the garden was blocked by a large awning.
Exceptionally helpful friendly staff. Beatiful location. Garden view room amenity-wise was fine, but the seaview was significantly more impressive for the same price. By all means opt for the seaview if given the choice.
Nice and very friendly family Hotel, newly renovated, close to the beach and town center and very close to the train station. Ideal to visit the 5 Terre villages. You can eat typical home made Italian food at the Hotel. Sestry Levante as a village, is a nice place to stay. We went in April no tourists. Just beside the street, ask for a quiet room.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the location was convenient to the waterfront, the railway station and shopping area. Apart from our room having a balcony we also had use of the lounge area on the 3rd floor and the sun deck with lounges - great for sun baking. Great hotel in a fantastic location we will be back. No tea or coffee making facilities in our room.
V.A. is a beautiful hotel with pool and very nice ladies and gentleman. we were very satisfied with our visit. surrounding was ´interesting´ more or less industrial zone. but the area of V.A. excelent.
The room were spacious, delicious breakfast with many choices, lovely garden and pool, but most of all the gracious and friendly management. We liked everything, however we think one must have an auto to stay here.
Everything was perfect. Excellent service, good breakfast and nice environment. No negative aspects at all
Beautiful hotel, friendly and service minded personnel, parking facilities (both garage and outdoor parking) Location too far from village centre, walking distance too long for most people (>30min); no alternative transportation (taxi or public). In view of limited parking facilities in town, a scooter or motor bike are the best means of transportation. Although breakfast was ok, there was not much choice for non sweet food; Wifi only available in hotel lobby, signal not strong enough on terrace or in the rooms.
Aurora, the hotel manager was great on offering infos for excursions to the Cinque Terre, thank you Aurora. Also breaksfast was amazing, all with organic materials and room clean and comfy.
Nice and helpful staff, relatively quiet and peaceful at night, easy to accomodate 3 children in our family room.
Location is excellent -- a block from beach, town square and services, good restaurants... you do not need a car. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and cheerful. Room had three single beds, as requested. Breakfast had wide range of good foods, including a lot of proteins -- really held me over, and the room was large and pleasant. Bathroom small, with poor lighting; found hairs on bed linens; public areas "worn," and not as clean as I would expect for the cost.
The beds were tiny and hard as a rock. The bathrooms showers were way to tiny even for children. The breakfast didnt have much to choose from, No air conditioning in our room.
personel was gentle and flexible for any request (late arrival, early breakfast, etc)
restaurant, room, quietness
Central position Towels very poor quality
Beautiful beach town. But travel by car not the best way. Staff not very knowledgeable about their own community. I guess they dont get out much. I talked to wine merchant and book seller down the street. Hey! These guys get out and know what is what!
The staff were excelent from reception to bar staff The room was not what was shown on the booking process and was small for a family of 4, the breakfast was small and there was not a lot to choose from.
Kind, helpful hotel staff Very basic facilities
The staff was genuinely trying to please us. It is a tired property.... But in that town most are....
The hotel is situated on a hill top outside the town of Siestre Levante in a good & quiet location, its nice to get away from the town and to be able to relax on the hillside. The room we had No.12 had a nice balcony, table, chairs and I loved the private outdoor shower. There was good view of the sea & town and the sunset. The breakfast room also has a lovely view of the sea and town below. The breakfast was a comprehensive continental one good with freshly baked pastries/croissants, home made jam & enjoyable. Next door there was the Kontiki restaurant which the hotel offered a special deal of 25 Euros p/person excellent vale, the best restaurant I found in Siestre Levante, top class cuisine & good friendly service Hotel room top floor had a sloping roof and I kept knocking my head but you cant have everything.
The hotel is in a good location for visiting the historical part of Bologna. The hotel is very difficult to find in the city with the many one way streets and lack of clear street signage. It took many attempts to finally reach the hotel. The 24 euro price to park on the premises seemed high although we were happy to have this option in this busy city.
The staff was very helpful and lovely. Breakfast was tasty but only slightly varied from day to day. We were there 8 days We knew the hotel was some distance from the center and a car is required as the hotel is about 4-5km away uphill. Positively, there is a lot of free parking near the center. A big negative is the bang we hear every time someone close a door.
Great situation in the hills above Sestri Levante. Nice breakfast room with wonderful view. Good parking.
quiet, great view, helpful staff
Central location, quiet room, modern design in old building
the location is grate with a grate view.
Friendly staff, fantastic view. We stayed in room 12, which a previous reviewer said was for dwarfs. It does have a slanting ceiling, but it is fine near the bed, has lots of character and has a lovely balcony looking out onto the hills and sea. Nothing to do with the hotel, but sat nav sends you to completely the wrong place based on the address.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful. After one night I was able to shorten our stay with no problems. The rooms I was shown were much more cramped than the rooms pictured on the site. The beatufil hotel view is marred by a large hideous restaurant located right under it on one side.
Setting, comfort Difficult to find, address is not clear if you are not local.
The staff was very cheerful, helpful, and polite, breakfast was healthy and delicious, and necessities were within walking distance. The room was comfortable with good airconditioning and clean amenities. The atmosphere and decor had taste. Great beach. I have no negative comments.
