When I asked the owner to book a taxi to Le Cite he drove us there himself. Very friendly and helpful.
Domaine De Marseillens was stunning and Serge and Muryel welcomed us into their home as friends and not as paying guests. Our room was comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated in keeping with the building which was an old winery . Breakfast was a work of art with fresh produce every morning and the table decorations changed on a daily basis. We all sat at the one long table and conversation with other guests from other countries was very interesting! The property is quite a bit out of Carcassone and you need to take a taxi into the city at 14-20 euros each time. The bus runs only at school times.
Ann and I were welcomed by Muryel and Serge and given great advice about local trips and restaurants. The room was very stylish and the breakfast was delicious!
You really need a car if you are going to stay at this hotel.
The owners of this small hotel are fabulous nothing is too much trouble.Wonderful place to base yourselves in this region, but need a car to get around as limited tours after summer.
The building was formerly a residence of a bourgeois family. The rooms are decorated beautifully with excellent taste. Although the building is old, bathrooms are renovated and modern. This is a perfect place if you like the classical taste. I also loved this hotel for having good location, private parking, free wifi, friendly and very helpful receptionist. Would love to come back! no elevator
It is a high quality establishment with all equipment and services, new and in perfect condition. The host gave very personalised assistance and we appreciated his advice and attention. This was the best accommodation, of 8, we had in our trip to France. Nothing major. We would have liked a jug or kettle.
We were made very welcome in this beautiful and comfortable hotel. Lovely garden and close to all amenities.
everything is good nothing
Excellent location with on site secure parking. Very sympathetic high quality renovation of a substantial private house with excellent owner/host providing a high standard of personal service. None whatsoever
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very nice facilities. The host was excellent. The location perfect for Carcassone.
My host was charming and offered generous personal service. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated (a story of renovation) and it was easy walking distance to La Cite. The lovely garden was a pleasure to relax in with a drink and private. Private parking a great asset also.
We had a wonderful time at Demeure St. Louis. Barnard, the owner is really special and did everything he could to make our visit enjoyable. The room was one of the nicest we had on our three week trip around France.
great location and charming rooms with a view of Carcassonne it's across the street from the jail!
We wanted a decent hotel near Carcassonne, hopefully with a little style and comfort, and Demeure St Louis far exceeded expectations. The owner has an amazing eye for art and design and every detail has been carefully chosen. The breakfast was delicious and homemade. The proprietor did not speak much English but is very charming and managed to help us find a good restaurant and feel very at home during our stay.
Very well run hotel, friendly staff. The horses are treated well and are in fine condition. The domaine is located in a marvellous landscape.
Hotel was modern in apearance & decor. Room was clean & well equipped. Good walking area. Extemely long drive down narrow road, isolated
An attractive location and beautiful scenery.A warm welcome and pleasant, fresh room. A beautiful terrace for breakfast. Lovely. Our room was not serviced with change of towels or make up of bed. This may be hotel policy.
The meals were good. It is very peaceful. If you are not into outdoor pursuits (mainly equestrian), don't go here. You need your own transport as it is several kilometers from a main road.
The location is beautiful. Worth more than just an overnight stay. Plan on a couple of days to really enjoy the setting!
This is a magnificent place. It is out in the country, away from the cities and highway. The people are great. The other guests are very friendly. The food is the best I have had in France or Spain. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting privacy and a quiet place to stay. We originally planned to stay only 2 days and ended up staying for over a week. We would have stayed longer but we had reservations at a different place already. There were many very gentle horses to ride although we did not do any riding.
Very nice building, secluded area, nice staff Fittings were very fragile, we were asked not to even use one window curtain. Not an easy walk to town
I loved that it was out in the country. The owners seemed to take a real pride in the place and all the rooms were decorated with love and care. The evening meals each night were great: it was amost like staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. No. I think it is a charming place.
Great location -- a couple of kilometres off the public road, amongst vineyards and rolling hills. You can see the stars at night without glare from city or village lights. Good breakfast. No lock on door of suite -- each of the two bedrooms within the suite could be locked, but not the entire suite. We did not want to lock the children in their room and then lock ourselves in our room, which would have made it impossible for the children to get out of their room and to come to us if need be. Front door of hotel was also unlocked (and no one was monitoring it) late at night. Lots of cobwebs and dead insects in the rooms. There is a ping-pong table outside, but we did not see any games room.
The welcome was outstanding - we were given a drink before we went out to dinner. The hotel is beautiful despite a plain unwelcoming exteriour which is hard to recognise as an hotel. We stayed two nights and our room was not serviced before the second night - not sure if this is the difference between an hotel and a B & B. The bathroom was 'cosy' and it is fortunate we were no fatter than we are.
