Pros: This medieval inn was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The breakfast was great and the location could not have been better! A great host who directed us to a few local attractions. I will be back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Authentic hospitality and friendliness
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner were excellent - our hostess, Marina, is an excellent cook - we have been staying at Auguas Santa at various times over 6 or 7 years and have always been very pleased - with the location, house,, food and especially with Marina!
Cons: nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The picturesque location of the property allowed us to really immerse in the countryside and to be 100% off stress and frenzy. At the same time it is possible and easy to access some bigger cities around like Ourense where we didn't miss the relaxing thermal baths (recommended!). The breakfast is just what we need to start the day, but the very best of all the experience was Marina. She is lovely and will treat you like you are family. The day we arrived, we got so late that everything was closed even in the city...Marina kindly and promptly prepared us a nice French tortilla so that we would not go to bed in our empty stomachs. She is the best!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the little village, unchanged since c15c including Marina’s house which has been in her family for ever! Interesting walks nearby on the Camino and other tracks with ancient ruins and underground church. Marina was a charming host and cooked us a very delicious meal. Alleriz is about 10mins away and well worth a visit
Cons: Room a bit small and we didnt like the bolster, but that’s an acquired taste!
7.1 Good
Pros: The owner was very helpful, she provided an evening meal so that we didn't need to go out again that evening.
Cons: The problem finding the property after a tiring day driving.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice, well decorated with rustic style. The breakfast was wonderful, home made products. The host was very kind and helpfull giving us tips on what to visit and the best restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The two houses are set opposite each other in a peaceful village setting with beautiful views across the valley. The whole place was excellently presented and the owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make everything of a very high standard. Our room was finished to a very high specification with a lovely modern bathroom and central heating. The original stone walls and other features have been sympathetically incorporated into the present-day building. Comfortable beds too! Beautiful garden and terrace with stunning views. Priscilla, one of the family of proprietors, was very efficient, welcoming, kind and obliging and gave us lots of local information about where to go and what to visit. Highly recommended.
Cons: We liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view at nearby vineyards from the room as well as the pool. Very helpful personnel, they cooked us great, homemade dinners at good price.

9.1 Excellent (296 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set around a courtyard, this beautiful country house dates from the 16th century and features its own wine cellar, and charming rooms. Surrounded by vineyards and close to the banks of the Avia River, it is set in the village of Esposende. The lovely, comfortable rooms at Pazo de Esposende have exposed stone walls and are decorated with frescos made by a famous local painter inspired by landscapes of the region. All rooms have heating, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. You can relax in one of the 2 relaxing lounges, where there is a fireplace, a TV, sofas, a table and chairs, and a reading corner. Pazo de Esposende is within 5 km of Ribadavia and the hot springs at Prexigueiro. Ourense can be reached in 30 minutes by car. Santiago de Compostela and Rias Baixas are within 100 km of the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Property has great caracter: renovated old building, nice rooms and outdoor sitting areas, bathroom very modern. Stunning surroundings with vineyards and great views.
Cons: No English spoken. Breakfast started very late, at 9:30. Nice breakfast, but they were serving everything at the table, which meant for example we waited a long time for the coffee, brought at the end of the meal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property was a beautiful hacienda. Tatiana was a delight. So friendly and helpful. Neither she or her partner spoke English yet we communicated very well. The hotel was immaculate. I’ve never seen a more well kept property.
Cons: Although the venue was gorgeous, it was not really close to restaurants so the dining was limited, since the property does not have their own on property.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is peacefully quiet, surrounded by vineyards and beautiful Galician landscape. The hotel's construction is nice and the rooms are comfortable and combine modern refitting with a traditional touch.
Cons: Our reservation was not respected. I specifically asked for a room with a double bed (there were options that indicated that it could be one double or two twins, but I chose the option which was specifically double). However, upon arrival, the hostess indicated that they only had twin rooms left. No form of compensation was offered, which could have been a kind gesture. Also, we arrived at around 6 PM, at which time both the host and the hostess indicated they would be unavailable for the rest of the day. I obviously respect their right to rest, but again, since this is a rather isolated hotel and scarce in services (no food is available on premises, for instance), it would have been nice to know that reception is available until a bit later.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful place!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It was charming, beautiful, historic, clean and well appointed. The hosts were fantastic and we really enjoyed dinner down the street at the Michelin restaurant, which was also excellent!
Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The flowers in the courtyard. And it was very clean.
Cons: The view to plastic junk yard. You need to call reception to get the gate open, so get roaming.

7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: They claim to have parking, but they really don't. It is only available for sub-sub compact cars. We had a tiny economy car, and we were told it was too large to fit. Also, the spa is terrible. The sauna doesn't get hot, and the "hot tub" is about 2 feet deep. Hard to imagine they can claim this as a valid amenity.

Pros: Beautiful, historic property with lovely gardens and pool. Amazing the amount of furnishings and antiques to gaze at. Lovely, simple breakfast.
Cons: We have not slept on a bed this uncomfortable in a long time. It ruined the otherwise perfect beauty of the property and the wonderful furnishings. It would have also been great to have been able to buy a beer or wine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building and setting were fantastic, the pool and atmosphere were excellent. In addition, the hosts were very helpful and wlecoming.

Cons: I really want to let you know that, the hotel is clean, the staffs are nice and everything is sooo good, but the PILLOWs (almohada) are too soft, especially the middle part (kind of long size pillow),that when you sleep with, your head will just FALL DOWN into the pillow and probably you will need band the pillow in the middle part to make it thinker and sustain your head, CANT SLEEP ALL NIGHT LONG ...SORRY

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy and cozy rooms. Quiet, enchanting property. Beautiful views from the quiet hilltop. Don’t miss experiencing Chef Miguel Gonzalez’s restaurant tasting menu. Be sure to leave time for breakfast - perhaps the best small hotel breakfast I’ve ever experienced. Exceptional service from Chef Miguel himself. Perfect for couples looking to get away. A treasure just minutes from Ourense!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Rustico San Jaime is a small and cosy hotel located in an Ourense neighbourhood, ideally placed to visit the region and specially “Ribeira Sacra”. It is somehow a “gastro hotel” as it is owned and managed by Chef Miguel Gonzalez, and so it is great for all of those who want to eat well and tasty. The breakfast is variated and is totally fresh done. As an option there is also dinner, in a seven plates degustation menu prepared by the Chef. Fabulous.
Cons: Nothing. All was great. I would give 20 stars if I could. Miguel Gonzalez is an high standard professional, and also an excellent person.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and location, nice rooms, very nice and warm welcome, amazing breakfast
Cons: Anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic experience staying here, would highly recommend. This lovely property is located on a quiet road with a few rooms for guests, a lovely swimming pool and a fantastic chef! Our room was lovely with access to a fantastic terrace. We sat out on the terrace on our first evening for a picnic and drink, while we listened to lovely music being played for the dining guests. The room was lovely and comfortable, although the toilet facilities were 'on view' in the room, wouldn't bother some people, but took a little getting used to for us. The standout experience for us was dinner on the second night, the restaurant was fully booked for the first night and so we booked in for the second night on arrival. The amazing eight course menu was phenomenal and the personalised vegetarian/ gluten free version that was prepared especially for one of us was amazing, it was the best dining experience we've had. We were given a table for two on the mezzanine, making it super personalised and romantic and we had such fun waiting and wondering what the next course would be. Every course was superb and the whole experience was amazing - I don't think I will ever taste artichoke as perfect as this. And the value for money was exceptional. Thank you for giving us this memorable experience, I don't think we'll ever forget it!! Just for information - there was an an event on the second day, which was noisy with loud music that definitely took away from the peaceful setting - but this was more than made up for by the special night we had once the event was over. I would think during the week or in general, it is probably a peaceful location. We would recommend without hesitation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Of the six accommodations during our 17-day-journey through Asturias and Galicia, this one was the most enjoyable one - by far. The delightful breakfast which offers many different components. The spacious rooms, furnished with aesthetic taste. The building itself with its interior and little outside loggias. On top of all that are Miguel Gonzalez' degustation menus which we enjoyed every evening (and everybody who decides to stay here should do the same). Still on top of that are the very likeable hosts, who always offer a smile and help, even when their schedule is demanding.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing to criticize,

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building was very interesting, the garden was nice, the room was a good size and the bed was great. Food in the restaurant was good.
Cons: The room obviously hadn't been checked before we entered it as there was an old packet of biscuits in the side table, an old bit of sticking plaster and a cotton bud in the bedside drawer and it could have done with a bit of a dust. Some of the glasses in the restaurant needed a better clean in the dishwasher.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly warm welcome from our hosts, they did everything to make us feel at home, including making special meals for my sick friend on their own initiative. The 500-year-old house has been lovingly restored. Warmly recommended.

Pros: Very helpful host, delicious meals, beautifully restored buildings, pet friendly!
Cons: couldn't connect to Wifi in our room but it's understandable given the thickness of the stone walls
