8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge and the decor interesting and quirky. The bed was very large and very comfortable. The room was super clean and spacious.
Cons: The Wi-fi did not work, there was no staff on site ( we saw the lady who let us in for about 5 mins when we arrived then no one else ever ! ), and the towels were almost threadbare. It was difficult to find and as it was part of a domaine, we didn’t expect it to be so closely surrounded by other properties. We could not have a wine tasting which was described on the website as there was no one around.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Thought breakfast was included in price,it was delicious, but all in all an expensive stop over.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located near the city and castle
Cons: A beautifully appointed suite with plenty of room and comfortable furnishings. The host was most welcoming and was very pleasant with good spoken English. Located in the centre but set back to be quiet away from the hustle and bustle. I would fully recommend this suite and hope to be back again

Pros: The owner was really kind and welcoming. He greeted us with some of his family winery's wine. Breakfast was wonderful and served to us on a cute little patio. We also got some great recommendations for dinner.

Pros: The staff Laurent (owner) and Noemie were charming and gave us the warmest of welcomes. The room was design with lots of attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruit, crispy baguettes, buttery croissants home made jam, great value for money! We felt like royalty throughout our stay!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: location overlooking bay was beautiful, small balcony was nice.
Cons: parking a little difficult
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perhaps one of the best views I’ve ever had in a hotel- was an absolute pleasure waking up in the morning and seeing only the sea! Very polite and helpful staff. Beautiful terrace and hotel balconies, although they don’t have wall separations from neighbors.
Cons: Rooms are NOT SOUNDPROOF- I could literally hear the neighbors whispering while lying in bed. Would’ve given a 9.6, but this killed it. Breakfast was mediocre - bad coffee.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very friendly staff and clear rooms.. and the view is awesome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the view over the harbour and town. Checkin / checkout was easy and our simple breakfast on the deck, in the sunshine, was perfect. Although the room was small, would happily stay here again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: World class view.
Cons: TV did not work. Old school door locked with a key from the inside.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location very friendly area even to the extent locals took us out on there boat for free
Cons: We had to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting was spectacular! Laurence was wonderful and we could not have had a more perfect experience. Cannot wait to return!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: View and proximity to beach just below Rooms modernized, decent size and comfortable. Balcony nice
Cons: Lobby area needs updating and could be really nice with view it has A coffee machine would be better than thermos coffee
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful. We were able to make our own hot drinks and enjoy them on our balcony in the morning. It was beautiful, the room, the view, the service . Very clean and comfortable. Most restful. Thank you
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: There were no staff on site other than for a few hours during the day. On the first night I had to deal with an asylum seeker. The third day was marred by a guest flying his drone from his room taking photographs of the hotel. Our room was not refreshed on the first day. Staff were brazenly smoking in the kitchen. The security is poor (though will not set out the details on this public forum). Ultimately we checked out early. Its a pity because the views are simply stunning and the shower is great.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing views of the sea, very friendly staff, delicious dinner.
Cons: The climb is very steep!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and the staff were both excellent..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a perfect stay at Le Catalan. The room was spacious and clean (with AC) and with a view of the bay of Banyuls. The stone-faced walls and the deco inside give the hotel a comfortable, homely feel. The dinner at the hotel restaurant is fantastic, so is breakfast, where there are both warm and cold options. Staff was great throughout and service in the restaurant was both friendly and super-professional. Overall, you always have the impression of being in a hotel with a higher star rating. The city centre is only a short walk away if one doesn't mind walking a bit uphill and downhill. There is also a small pebble beach a short walk away from the hotel which is great for snorkeling. I will definitely come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Catalan was very nice and just what we wanted: a couple of days at the beach. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was excellent, beyond expectations. An easy, and interesting walk down to the beach (175 stairs), but we managed twice a day. Also, definitely take the Petit Train ride into the hillside, stopping at a winery. We were served way more wine than the 8 Euro cost of the ride. I recommend Le Catalan and Banyuls-sur-Mer.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and view.
Cons: There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, despite being quite far away from the city centre, is located in a very pleasant, beautiful and quiet area of Barcelona. There are a subway station and a lot of shops a few minutes away. The view from our room (3rd floor, hill side) was stunning. The rooms themselves are comfortable, clean and well decorated. Last but not least, the staff is adorable, helpful in many ways and fully dedicated to customer’s satisfaction. We had a wonderful stay here and there is no doubt we will come back !
Cons: The only drawback is the fact that the bathroom isn’t isolated enough from the bedroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything. The staff, the location, the gorgeous views, the peace and quiet of the pool area, the private parking, the well equipped gym, although there was only 1 boxing glove ??, the spa/beauty room next door ( Caroline, the owner, is amazing), it had everything a 3 stars should have but a 4 stars atmosphere because of cosy size, position and probably prices. 50 euros for an extra bed.
Cons: The only thing is that is a very old property and some areas and rooms could do with an uplift to bring them into the 21st century. But it had character and it reminded me of holidays with my parents in the 80s.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb for couples. Great staff. Great pools. Amazing views.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All to like fantastic outside areas, the chief is top rate one of the best and is only 24. I would Recomend anybody who enjoys quality food to eat there.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The closeness to the beach. The swimming pool. The excellent room. The restaurant .
Cons: The breakfast area was too hot.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, clean and secure parking
6.8 Good
Cons: Small shower
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, beach opposite, room was clean, restaurant was lovely - food and wine were both excellent. Enclosed parking is a bonus. Buffet breakfast is ample and delicious
Cons: The wedding reception that went in until 4am and disturbed us, revellers in the corridors slamming doors.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't realise that the breakfast came as a buffet and was the most expensive, E15 each. We could have had a coffee and croissant at the bar much cheaper but this wasn't pointed out to us.
Cons: The price of the food in the restaurant, especially the breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool area is really nice with friendly staff and a great restaurant. I can highly recommend to have lunch or dinner. Our room was clean, but a bit outdated. The beach is opposite the hotel, it’s the smaller beach of the 2 that Banyuls has to offer. You need to walk 10-15 mins to get to the other beach which is in the center. If you want to escape the busy center at night, the location of this hotel is perfect.
Cons: Room could use a small update.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, views , staff, food
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Very Small shower cubicle
6.0 Good
Pros: Banyuls sur mer is an extremely small village. However, this hotel is actually not located in the village. It is actually located on the other side of a rather imposing cliff. For some guests, this would be a huge problem since it makes it quite difficult to get to the town without a car. However, the location is also part of the hotel's charm. The hotel is situated on a small beach. And, there are very few people who use it in the off-season. It is also located next to a small bakery, which has tremendous pastries.
Cons: When you book through Kayak, hotels apparently receive an email or fax with your payment details. Without telling you, this hotel then manually runs a hold against your credit card prior to your arrival. The problem with this approach is that American credit card companies now issue chip cards. And, they suspect fraud when the chip card is not inserted during the payment process. The consequence is that your credit card is then turned off when hotels employ these kind of holds. That is what happened to me. And, it completely ruined my one-day stay in Banyuls - as my credit card was not reactivated until two hours after my departure. To make matters worse, the hotel management did not respond to my follow-up email explaining what happened and recommending that they change their check-in procedures so that it doesn't happen to future Kayak guests.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great! The beach across the street was small, quiet and perfect. The town itself was also very quaint and a great find!
Cons: There was construction happening while we were there which was a little disappointing, but it happens. However, online it looked like there was a great jacuzzi for us to use, but that was what the construction was all about. So we didn't have access to it. That was a bummer.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Once I changed rooms, nice view of the sea, sound of waves on the beach. Great restaurant 'La Littorine' but too expensive for every day, and very limited menu.
Cons: Avoid the "garden rooms" (which I had originally booked) - especially if you are claustraphobic - no views because no windows! Banale "international" breakfast, with coffee from a push button machine! It's a 15 minute+ walk into the town of Banyuls-sur-Mer.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent food and within easy walk of town centre. Super location beside the beach
Cons: Decoration a bit tired and some minor repairs need to be done
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The receptionist's lack of profissionalism. French was the only language the receptionist speaks
5.7 Okay
Pros: position on beach. standard of food. pleasant staff.
Cons: endless dull corridors
5.7 Okay
Pros: Restaurant is amazing!!!
Cons: Would be good to have more towels and more shower gel.

Cons: The balcony Seems too close because the thick walli
7.5 Good
Pros: Great views
Cons: Long walk downhill to the town .. lovely sea front though
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, beautiful view. Spa facilities and indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Family apartments are ok, it had airco and a nice terrace. Kids enjoyed the pool. Onsite parking is also good.
Cons: In April during the nights the rooms were cold and even though with airco you could warm the main room up if you are allergic to airco or don't like the constant airflow it can be annoying. There were electric radiators as well but staff didn't/couldn't want to turn those on. That was the only thing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good facilities. Nice pools. Short walk into town and to the beach. Nice room, comfy bed.
Cons: The restaurant was disappointing. The chicken was raw-I don't mean undercooked, I mean raw. Staff were not particularly sympathetic of this-Appeared confused by the danger of raw chicken and although they did cook it properly and return the same piece to me, they only knocked 6 euro off the bill which was disappointing for an expensive restaurant. Generally disappointing food anyway so we gave up with going half board
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A good Spa with lots of treatments available. 1 large outdoor pool, 1 large indoor with jacuzzi, water jets etc. (2 other smaller pools visible for aqua gym etc, but not in use mid July). Good continental breakfast available, fruit, cold meat, Yoghurt, cakes and breads. No cooked apart from Scrambled egg, or boil your own. Tried the evening restaurant one night, food is of a good quality but we much preferred to eat a lunch down in the village where there are at least 9 or 10 good restaurants altering to all tastes. The room we had was lovely with a small balcony overlooking most of the bay and town, very clean and good service. An empty fridge, kettle, hairdryer and safe provided free of charge. Spa robes, Croc style shoes, pool towel in a carry bag provided with €90/person deposit. Staff could not have been more helpful, which made the holiday so much better. The hotel for our stay week starting 10July2019 was pretty quiet, Fri night to Sunday afternoon medium busy, but the rest of the time it only seemed 1/3 Rd full.
Cons: The location is very nice, but you will need transport as even to get to Banyul-sur-mer by foot would take at least 20 mins, and returning up the windy coastal road in the heat probably twice as long! There is a local mini bus in high season, although we didn't see or use it. Apart from this small observation/warning I have no complaints about this hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room nice and spacious and clean- breakfast ok.
Cons: No water stations by pool or any free bottles in room- nearest water if you are in the steam room appeared to be on the floor below.......
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very good buffet breakfast. Setting and views were lovely
Cons: This is a lovely spa hotel but there was no information for first time visitors regarding the various facilities and how to access them which kind of gave the place an intimidating air. We seemed to be the only guests who would have to seek someone out for explanations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful clean room, the staff spoke perfect English and couldn’t do enough to help. Parked within the complex. The pool and facilities were amazing as was the breakfast. They have white robes and towels for your comfort- to take to the pool and spa etc. It’s a tranquil Spot and great to re charge ones batteries.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The wonderful surprise
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice view from reception. Modern
Cons: Reception staff didn’t speak English so were not able to adequately explain facilities. We can speak some french but even then they were not able to clearly explain.
Hostal Juventus - Cerbère - Building
6
8.1 Excellent (432 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hostal Juventus in Portbou, you'll be by the sea, just steps from Port Bou Beach and a 2-minute drive from Les Tres Platgetes Beach.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: nothing
Cons: There was no hot water or cold water in the bathroom and the room stank of cigarette smoke even though there is a sign saying n0 smoking. Also I had great difficulty in opening the shutters in order to ventilate the room. I asked for a refund from the management but they were non-comittal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a room of my own next to a very spacious toilet and and a shower. Had a sink a TV The WiFi was without fault. The bed was comfy and warm. Towels in my room and kettle in my room with a complimentary coffee and tea. Great also for noodles .
Cons: For the price I paid and in that beautiful part of Costa Brava nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is about 20 yards from the beach. Portbou is quite small so wherever you stay you'll be near the shops, beach, bars, railway station, etc. Although it calls itself a hostel it's really a one- or two-star hotel where you get your own room with a telly, etc. Bathrooms are shared but I was given a twin room for no extra cost.
Cons: When it rains it rains and during one night rain was coming through the ceiling. It must have happened before as there are water marks there. Otherwise it is very good value for money and well located.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, cheap food, value for money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable rooms. There is a kettle, table with chairs, and lamps in the room. It has a nice balcony. The bathroom outside was not a problem. Excellent staff , very kind and helpful. The bar downstairs has a nice local atmosphere and they serve good food. They close at 11pm so you can have a good sleep.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice atmosphere and professional staff. The view and location was good.
7.5 Good
Pros: A kettle in the room was provided which is great as it allows us to have the essential cup of coffee early in the morning.
Cons: A fan or a ceiling fan could make a stay during hot weather a lot more comfortable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a good cheap place , it’s the price of a hostel but you get your own room with basin and kettle , not meny people staying so you have bathroom anytime you need it and the staff are great and very helpful and nice , I would stay there again , but expect basic , which reflects the price. Good cheap place
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice and clean hostel. It’s exactly as described.
Cons: The staff were not the most welcoming people... but it was not horrible too.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is very good, clean, in the very center of the city, close to the sea, beautiful view from the window to the sea. We lived in a 3-bed room, it had a large table, a kettle, a large wardrobe. It was nice to see in the room a bottle of water (it was hot), sweets, coffee and tea. The hostel has a large comfortable kitchen with everything you need. Good wi-fi.
Cons: There is pizzeria on the 1st floor under the windows, people were sitting there until night, it was noisy

7.0 Good
Pros: Unscheduled stop-over so grateful for a clean, quiet room with comfortable beds found at the last minute. Terrace of main hotel building (where we had breakfast) in beautiful position overlooking bay.
Cons: Room tiny – you could only sleep in it. We were in the unstaffed annexe, and it's a bit of a pull up a steep hill If you have no car and luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved it all! It was particularly clean and new and we loved that!
Cons: It was a little steep climb, and we where with an elderly person. But the rest was perfect!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable clean and refurbished rooms.
Cons: Breakfast disappointing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff in a great location.
Cons: Could have had more privacy in bathroom. Door did not close properly.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Quiet site
Cons: Registration procédure at another hôtel impossible brfore 4,30 pm Microscopic room and bathroom Broken ac No staff at all in thé séparateur building where we slept
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Compact but adequately equipped room (no hair dryer though). Good air conditioning and wifi. Nice view!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Only the location.
Cons: Toilet and shower are in a small room without any separation even curtains. The door of the entrance was hard to close precisely.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: very well equipped and great shower
2.3 Mediocre
Cons: It was not possible to sleep there, due to the noise and the heat. The room was really not cleaned up, and we found 10 hairs of the former customers in the bed.
Hostal Costa Blava - Cerbère
8
7.3 Good (506 reviews)
Solhotel - Banyuls-sur-Mer - Building
9
7.1 Good (579 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Solhotel in Banyuls-sur-Mer, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Banyuls-sur-Mer Aquarium and Church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.3 Okay
Pros: room with view on the sea was on the main road, noisy
6.8 Good
Pros: The location looking over the sea and the comfortable but small double bed
Cons: The general shabbiness of the building with pictures crooked the lift lobby looking like a storeroom. Our room door would only open with a shoulder barge. When we returned in the evening the staff had gone and we had to punch in a code to open the front door in poor light having to use our cellphone torch to see the keyboard. On checkout the office behind reception was a disgrace and to cap it all we were told that the credit card machine was not working and we would have to pay in cash!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location for Banyuls-sur-Mer
Cons: Property rooms small and a bit tired, needs upgrading.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good views and short walk to Banyuls-sur-Mer. Everything as we expected.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The view was stunning, although the hotel was by the main road,so you can't enjoy it much - constant annoying noise. :(
Cons: If you don't speak French, don't go to this place. The hotel staff almost doesn't speak English and they seem they are absolutely Ok with that fact... Also the cleaning wasn't very proper. The price is too high - it is not equivalent to tje service they provide. Reception dest is open only to 9pm and you have to keep the keys all the time with yourself, which is kind of annoying - especially when you go to the beach for example. The accommodation unfortunetly didn't meet my assumption. :(
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room I got, but not the one I booked , the room I was given was ok, smallest patio ever, part view, but the room had air con, no fridge and only a vending machine “ one “ in reception that closed at 9.30. Then it was key code to get in, good for a one night stay
Cons: You are never asked “ how was your check OUT “ by booking . Com . Well this was just as bad as the checking in, same person, How to start a day miserable go see this receptionist , I only hope it was the owner and not somebody they are paying,, And the clowns provided laughter, not to this one they won’t !!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a good place by the coast , short walk to town and has double glazing so no road noise and you have a sea view. I unfortunately can not speck French and it would be helpful if you can at least speck some French as they do not speck English Thank you for having me stay
7.5 Good
Pros: The sea view, sunrise in the morning, being slightly out of town.
Cons: Traffic noise (but this would be reduced if you shut the windows). Coffee tasted like instant, out of machine.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facility in the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good with a great view
Cons: Wine sold next door was expensive by French standards. Buy elsewhere
