It was clean and reasonably priced. The owner was pleasant and friendly on reception. Breakfast was very nice. The room and bathroom were minute, there were little or no facilities, including no TV. No restaurent or bar. The bed was small and not very comfortable.
Helpful owner made good suggestions for an evening meal within walking distance. The shower room was very small
Nice, quiet hotel - almost like a bed&breakfast. Nice staff (the owner and his wife) and very helpfull too.
very nice hosts close to road - may be noisy when windows are open
The owners were really pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was both nice and fresh.
I like the nature near the Hotel ,but if you can't arrive at the hotel before 10:30 pm you have to sleep in your car because the reception don't work beyond this hour, forget about the door ring or call by phone, the owner sleep there but did not answer the phone. So, for me was a nightmare. I got there at 11:30pm because it is very far from Grenoble.I slept in my car with my wife and my 75 years old mother because there was not any place nearby to stay. In the morning the owner faked and thinking I did not have phone, asked me why I did not called him because he sleep at the Hotel.I answer ,I did it 4 times and then he told me why you did not called before 10 30 pm.He told me there was no breakfast at 9am because he was not ready and gave me only coffee. My family and I took a shower and continue our journey through France. We rented also by internet in 10 different hotels and did not have problems with our stay.
the host was very friendly ; the quiet room had a great view. there was nothing in the close vicinity . I had to drive 20 km to find a place to eat .
The family owned hotel was a real treat and felt like a B&B. Breakfast was great for the additional fee. The owner also gave us a great recommendation for hiking near the hotel. Everything was wonderful!
The owners are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. A good place to use as a base for a day or two for touring some of the best biking roads in France.[Route Napolean, Verdon Gorge etc]. No t.v. in room.
The owners were very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean Room and bathroom were very small
There wasnt much that we did like, sorry I can't write more. I gather these hotels are always on a trading estate. Our room was quite small and window looked out to a high wall.
Not a lot. The outdoor access to the rooms.
rooms were spacious and airy. Excellent choice of food for breakfast
Typical Campanile set just out of Dignes centre. Arrived very late and pre arranged for a key to be left so I could get in along with a code for the gate to the car park. Worked perfectly. Pleasant staff. Good buffet breakfast. Free WiFi for those wanting internet. Good Value.
Excellent budget accommodation, however had difficulty finding the hotel even though we were travelling into Digne by the Route 85
leaving Very dirty and run down hotel, I booked for 2 nights but left after one.
Very friendly and helpful staff and the hotel was good value. No hair dryer in the room or at the reception.
They had an electric kettle in the room, tea and coffee. The internet wasn't working good. The hotel is quite old. It doesn't worth the 67 euro (without breakfast) it costs.
Typical Campanile motel-like hotel, no frills Position is in an absolutely shabby part of town: shopping centers, Castorama, Intermarchè, on Sundays it is a desert....
Jean Louis is a wonderful host and the room we had (Jupiter) was spacious and lovely.
Lovely setting and rooms, perfect for romance and exploring the mountains. Staff were fantastic, relaxed and entertaining
Very quaint french hotel with a certain flair to it and very close to beautiful village - had a wonderful time.
Charming building and location. Sensational views from the upper floors. Convenient walk (uphill) to town. Located just far enough out of town to feel removed from the tourists, etc. Hard to find at first. We circled a few times and asked directions twice in order to locate it.
The innkeeper was very accommodating and the 10euro breakfast was worth every penny. The facility was clean and warm, the short walk to the village was nice. We would stay their again. all was perfect
The peace & tranquility, the owner's involvement and his slightly eccentric manner. The character building and view with a short walk to Moustieres. We thought it a little overpriced.
Very helpfull owner, good suggestion for dinner A little bit far from the village center
Nice rooms, friendly proprietor but not intrusive, good setting just at the foot of Moustiers so very easy to walk to town and back. Pretty gardens, nice tennis court, small bar. Close to Lac de Sainte Croix and good location for exploring the gorges. Just as it claims, a hotel "de charme".
Nice room, charming, friendly and helpful staff (owner). Intimate garden. No
Perfect location to explore the Verdun gorge and region, housing feels very genuine almost like a private guest at the owner. Very good breakfast and helpful tips for the stay. Absolutely recommended!
A nice enough hotel but in a poor location a half block from a main road and opposite a large modern concrete building. A disappointment. see above
Very elegant old inn, great staff, superb dining, rooms comfortable with very well equipped bathrooms. A real gem in a pretty little town/ the narrow halls and different levels makes it awkward to handle large luggage.
Location and ambience. Great restaurant (expensive but tops off a great stay)
Excellent hotel, facilities and food Price, considering it is in a small town
everything was great could use better signage on the road - it was a bit hard to find
quiet and confort surrounding countryside
An excellent stay all around
The country setting Food much overrated. Too expensive. Food was cold. Staff was young and immature and inexperienced.
Our stay at La Bonne Etape was the highlight of our travels to Provence. I only regret is that we did not stay longer. The accommodations, service, and food exceeded our expectation. If you can afford to stay here do not hesitate to book! Nothing. At first I was unhappy that the scale in the bathroom did not work. However, after tasting the food the chef was turning out it turned out to be a good thinkg.
The staff were excellent - English spoken. Very good restaurant. Loved the old charm of the hotel and it's central location for day trips. No hairdryer in room.
The hotel was nice for our one night stay. The beds were soft and comfortable (if you do not like soft beds, you may not find it as comfortable as I did). My girlfriend really raved about the bath tub. The bathroom was newly renovated and very spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The location is located in the town and very close to the tourism center and bus station. I would have preferred air conditioned rooms. We visited in August and the temperature during the day is on the warm side. The temperature at night was not unbearable, but a nice cool room would have been preferred.
We liked the old-fashioned ambience of the hotel, beautiful paintings and tastefulness of furnishings. We had a newly reburbished room which was a pleasure to be in.This hotel would be ideally suited to mature couples. Very quiet, but friendly.
Sheets clean, bathroom clean, room size good, staff attentive and pleasant. Evening meal dreadful, decor seriously tired, hotel dark, unwelcoming, only a 2 star trying to be something its not. No air con. very depressing hotel would not recommend.
Large room with good choice of seats; large comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Evening meal and breakfast on the terrace, None.
The staff was extremely courteous and accomodating. The room was quite large for France and the bathroom was exceptional. We loved dinner at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. No complaints whatsoever.
Breakfast, free wifi The room was a bit small
The restaurant in the hotel was fine as there was nowhere else to eat. The rooms were very poor, no sockets, no t.v. very small and need some updating
Very relaxed atmosphere. We were staying with two dogs and the hotel is very accommodating to animals - the staff were exceptionally welcoming and kind. On quite a busy road, but still with a view of the Lake!
The room was comfortable and cozy although small. There was no air conditioning but the windows with screens let in plenty of air so we slept well. The price of this hotel was the best on our trip. In the bathroom, you had to take a bath or sit in the bath tub using the hand shower -- no curtain/stall. European breakfasts are over-priced and this one wasn't worth the money for a couple pieces of bread, fruit, and slice of ham. The room was very small although okay for us.
Ideal stop off for our trip south basic accommodation. It's worth taking the route south fantastic views. Hotel food very good and reasonable. No bells and whistles just basic but ideal.
Good position for touring the Verdon area. Room a bit too small.
Very nice hotel, the staff is helpfull, Grate bathroom and hot water. Good value for money.
Friendly staff who were helpful. We went during the off-season and couldn't find a restaurant in town. So we ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner...absolutely delicious!
The fine nature, remarkable landscape, free parking for cars, free access to the Internet (Wi-Fi) The hotel is easy for finding
Pleasant atmosphere, excellent location for village, lake and hiking of a range of levels of difficulty. Good to have free use of computer and good breakfast offered. No TV in bedrooms and our room was a little small although the bathroom was fine.
Free Wi Fi available. Easy parking. Close to town to drive in for dinner. Sufficient English spoken by one host. Difficult to find as the name of hotel does not appear on building. In fact they have a large sign saying Hotel Michel only.
I like the flowers all around the hotel and the good smell of the shampoo.By the way, the friendness of the digne native is very impressive to me.
