Restaurant very good. Reception staff spoke good English and helpful Bedrooms rather small. Beds cofortable. Bathroom OK
Excellent Restaurant. Interesting town. Location map on website is incorrect. Hotel is shown as centre of town and was therefore difficult to find.
nice location breakfast was a bit of a bun fight.
Being able to park directly outside the room. Convenient location, both for the old town centre and the new commercial shopping centre. Room a little on the small size. No international TV channels other than BBC News.
Loches is a quaint medieval town; like a more northern sarlat; The motel units have good views of valley; there is excellent car parking outside the unit and location is quite convenient to the town and main roads out of town. Restaurant has good reputation but we could not get in: Motel units are cramped and can get hot:
Everthing about the place we enjoyed We ate in the restaurant and strangely we were asked before we ordered if we would like dessert
Comfortable and and very good restaurant Being accommodated a walk from main building during inclement weather
Convenience of location, superb hotel and friendly staff
friendly, helpful reception staff. Very nice dining room with real log fire. My husband liked the pool. Quiet situation. Super outlook. Long steep walk from Loches centre. The main course of the evening meal was disappointing every time. On our last night we paid a supplement and chose from a better menu. Would recommend this. Wine was good.
Excellent quality hotel, good service & value. n/a
The very original ancient stone spiral staircase, the views over the river and the accessibility of the town.
Being so close to the beautiful town of Loches and the river.
Nice location, helpful staff. That breakfast bar is not free, watch out!
the evening meal, and the aspect from the enclosed terraced restaurant I could not find any English language channel on the TV - and there was a presidential election on!
Beer on the terrace after arrival Pretentious dinner, oversalted, waited 1hr 20 mins for 1st course, food v. indifferent, kept in oven so overheated, staff in kitchen obviously could not cope, bread poorly cut, uneven size and not fresh, poor value for money.
Splendid location with closeby parking and bars/restaurants within easy walking.
The building was charming and we liked the historical aspects of it. Great location. Having to carry bags up 2 flights of stairs! Ok for younger people, but narrow and uneven steps did not help. The shower in he bathtub could prove a problem for people with limited mobility. However, all can be understood when onen considers the age of the hotel. Rooms on street a bit noisy, ask for a river view room.
Good central location. Great stairwell. Like everywhere, pillows were not very good.
Friendliness and helpfulness of owners, proximity to City
The location was ideal- right in the centre of Loches. Lovely to stroll from the hotel up the cobbled medieval streets (filled with boutique type shops) to the walled citadel.Lovely dining room with huge roaring fire. Delicious food including amuses- bouches. Very family atmosphere as they are obviously a family running this hotel. Full of charm if a little shabby chic.Excellent value for money at E46 per night (October). Heater didnt work in our room but when we approached the reception, they immediately came up to check it out, then moved us to another room. No hassle.Narrow stone staircase could be a problem for the elderly or those with large bags, but for us it added to the charm of the place. Its medieval!
The warmth of the staff, a nice welcome, they remembered us from 2 years ago. Right in town with a car park, close to all the medieval buildings. Room a little rustic but still comfortable - quaint is a good descrition.
We liked the City of Loches The Annexe rooms were a great disappointment compared with other Logis hotels we used this vacation
Dinner in the old courtyard was excellent. The breakfast served at the table in the charming dining room was also very pleasant.
I liked the location , parking, lovely dining room, Grand facade. Our room was in converted sheds at read of the small hotel. There are outside stairs in very poor condition leading to the rooms at the rear. Our room was on two floors. A hall and bathroom (without wc), downstairs. Up a very narrow stairs leading o a small bedroom. there is a toilet enclosed in the corner of the room. This does not contain a sink. The ceiling of the wc slopes, and made it impossible to use while standing. There is ample space to have the toilet on the lower floor with the sink. Anyone carring luggage will find the two sets of stairs difficult.
The location is marvellous for exploring Loches - especially the citadel. It is very close to the centre, yet, because the rooms are mostly arranged round a courtyard, it's very quiet. The hotel has character and charm because of its age. The owner/manager was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is used to English guests. The accommodation is awkward because of the building's age. Our room was split-level : bathroom and clothes-hanging (no wardrobe/closet) downstairs, bedroom and toilet (no basin) upstairs. The bedroom ceiling was very low, beamed and sloping, so there was danger of cracking your head every time you got into/out of bed. The service at dinner - served in a cool, quiet courtyard - was terribly slow. They forgot our dessert entirely, and, despite requests for it, it arrived nearly an hour after our main course. But they did apologise, and everyone else seemed to be served in a timely manner.
