Cons: Lower wine prices
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular service, gourmet food, wine and location! We can’t wait to return.
Cons: Not a thing! Hosts were very accommodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful hotel. The meticulous care to its restoration is matched by their care for their guests. We were greeted warmly and given a tour of the grounds and its history. Our room was spacious, very clean and charming and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We were given excellent advice and directions for dinner options nearby and were happy we followed their advice. Paul informed us that they offer wine tasting if interested for 35 Euro/pp. It might seem pricey but we tasted several wines with generous pours and cheeses & bread were provided as well. Bastian's lesson on the wines of Burgundy was worth the price alone. The breakfast was exceptional; everything is organic and many of the fruits for their jams and compotes are grown on site. We ate our breakfast in the garden and it was delightfully peaceful as well as lovely; seeing the vineyards in the distance beyond the fruit trees in the walled garden. We hope to make it back and enjoy a longer stay next time.
Cons: Only suggestion would be to have a blow dryer in the bathroom, other than that every amenity one could require was available.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts. Gorgeous rooms. Super breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel. Quirky, unusual, excellent food. Loved the special home made juice (with secret i ingredient ) . Paul made us very welcome and accommodated our every wish. We appreciated the free use of bikes which enabled us to discover the delights of the route des Grand Crus. Great location and within easy walking distance of the main village.
Cons: We loved it all - even if it was on the pricey side .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Small hotel in a sleepy village. Easy access and attentive helpful service. Very large rooms were a bonus when travelling with pet dog.
Cons: Adjacent restaurant is separate from hotel which only serves breakfast. Had to drive to local town to get a choice of eatery as no other options at the hotel location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a stop on the road to the south. Nice and quiet, have a very good restaurant next door. Staff is very nice too, and the room are clean and big.
Cons: Would love to have a coffee machine in the room. The church across the street will replace the alarm clock... which was not appreciated by my wife :-)
7.5 Good
Pros: Large room in small Burgundy town. Handy to the small villages south of Nuit Saint George.
Cons: The air conditioning did not work nor did the wireless. Owner wanted to charge me for an extra night when I explained why we must leave in that nothing worked. The temperatures in Burgundy were over 100 degrees and sleeping upstairs in an old building was not restful at all. Then when the wireless did not work either I explained we must leave and she insisted I pay for the 3rd night, even though I was checking out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The best breakfast ever in France. Nice older couple with a passion for hospitality. A perfect stop halfway the Netherlands and Spain.
Cons: The restaurant nextdoor was closed on wednesday, but there where good alternatives in Nuits-Saint-George.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: friendly staff, mostly quiet location and lovely spacious room
Cons: not sure the room had air conditioning, but did not need it during our stay. Local cockeral started quite early.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful. Hotel was fabulous. Well air conditioned.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for a stopover to or from Calais to the south of France. Nice restaurant. Free parking.
Cons: Wi-Fi didn't work for the duration of our stay. A staff car parked and blocked the EV charger. This didn't make much difference to us, but it was a point of detail that disappointed us. The staff serving dinner and breakfast also seemed to be a bit rushed and didn't do a great job serving gluten-free bread in either case.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Old building with contemporary feel - nice decor and good bedrooms
Cons: Staff a bit sullen at breakfast and not very attentive to our needs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very brief pleasant experience, great location, helpful and attentive staff, clean and quiet. Sorry we didn't get to do the wine tasting or eat in the restaurant, as we had other plans.

Hôtel Le Clos de la Vouge - Vougeot - Building
5
8.9 Excellent (157 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Vougeot, Hôtel Le Clos de la Vouge is on the riverwalk, a 2-minute drive from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and 6 minutes from Chapelle-Chambertin. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds and felt very 'homely'. Attentive staff at breakfast. Parking was on site and the village of Vougeot was very pretty. Superb restaurant next door serving local cuisine and can be booked by the hotel, if required.
Cons: The rooms did have some low beams, not too much of a problem but if you're tall be careful!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a comfort room, it was really spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool was lovely and perfect after a long drive. The staff were really helpful and booked a restaurant for the evening for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Refurbished hotel, with now more modern look than several years ago. Very friendly reception! Breakfast with fresh and good quality choices.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent, well trained, and very attentive. The breakfast was very good. It was peaceful and with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards. The little river running through is very nice with a nice patio to enjoy reading a book or sipping a drink. The bed was very comfortable. It was close to Dijon so easy to find places to eat not too far away.
Cons: During lunch break the office closes and access through the restaurant area to the back patio is not accessible. Also the tables inside are not accessible during this time. Although there were some brochures for local attractions, I did not really see anything on Dijon. The shower door would not close properly. The room only had one window that was a little small so it was not too bright during the day, but this did not detract from the beautiful environment.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Appeared to be newly renovated externally although the rooms seem a bit tired. Helpful staff (don't speak much English) and an excellent restaurant next door (not part of the hotel so needs to be booked separately - they were happy to do this). At the start of the Route de Grande Vins just south of Dijon with a lovely drive to Beaune past the vineyards. Minutes off the motorway.
Cons: It would have been nice if the swimming pool had still been open (early September).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally warm welcome from owners; lovely buildings and grounds; newly refitted bedrooms; impeccably clean throughout; excellent attention to detail
Cons: Coffee from machine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: GREAT DECORATION OUTSIDE & INSIDE
Cons: Lack of Air Conditionning in our room
6.0 Good
Pros: Physical facilities are very good. Rooms are fairly spacious and interestingly varied. Location is excellent for the Route des Grand Vins - just a wonderful north/south strip of land.
Cons: On a Friday evening the (small, corner of room) bar had closed @ 18.00!!. There was no resturant in operation - new owner is investing in new rooms, but not maintaining facilities. Obviously a property developer, not a hotelier. Worse still, he'll probably do well - if he hasn't destroyed the repeat visitor base (such as us). Fortunately there was a resturant immediately adjacent to the hotel. Good layout, good local food, and one of their wine specials that night was a St. Aubin (a lesser known gem of Bourgogne) - plus good local staff. Without this happy coincidence this review would have contained several expletives. Net effect. Good room and physical hotel - but even better resturant nearby. Might visit the latter again, but wouldn't take another chance on the hotel. Just have to pay the "new" higher prices and go to the Castel des Tres Girards up the road near Chambolle-Musigny.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious and clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless, large, extremely well-appointed, and even had two showers and two toilets, perfect for a busy family! Everything was tastefully appointed and the service and staff were polite and efficient. Especially nice was the pool/spa area, extremely clean, modern, and loads of fun for families as well as couples. We did not reserve a table at the on-site restaurant, which apparently is very popular and was full. There are not many locations nearby in which to have an unplanned meal, but we managed a simple but tasty dinner in the next town (Nuits-St. Georges). All in all a very memorable stay at a true four-star hotel with class! --the Wentzell family from Marietta, Georgia USA
Cons: nothing was less than perfect!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Had great time with family in spa . They even brought a small bathroom for my two year old . It was cute . It has a great restaurant onsite which had a very good vibe selection . Very close to many great vineyards . Loved it
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big comfortable sunny room - felt no need to leave it. Fabulous restaurant with thoughtful delightful staff
Cons: The only tiny thing is the absolutely state-of-the-art coffee machine also provides hot water for tea but the tea tastes slightly of coffee - no problem for me because I always travel w a small kettle.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm n cozy n very clean
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great SPA
Cons: Dinner restaurant definitely to improve
6.3 Good
Pros: The Bar area was nice & the staff very helpful

Cons: Honestly nothing -well maybe a separate kettle - fab coffee machine but not so good for tea
9.5 Excellent

Cons: We liked everything
6.3 Good
Pros: The scenery is gorgeous set in a small village in the heart of this wine region. Views across the properties vineyard are lovely. Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: It was especially hot when we visited and our room was in the loft of this old property. Obviously no aircon but a fan made it bearable for our two nights. No bar or restaurant at the hotel so this needs to be considered but with one restaurant in the village our needs were catered for
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice stop in the winefields
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good however we thought it was included in the price so that was a surprise as well as a disappointment. The view of the vineyard from the back yard was very pretty and they were kind to let us park our bicycles in the garage.
Cons: The room was shabby and feeling very outdated. Very bare minimum in furnishings in terms of quality. Mostly bare, dim walls along with the exposed dark beams in the room (which used to be the attic) made the room not a very nice atmosphere in which to be.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent. Breakfast is excellent. Host was excellent.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very center to the Burgundy region. Good location
8.8 Excellent
Cons: More could be expected of food and service in the restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful and the staff were very helpful
Cons: Dog not allowed in the restaurant and food provided outside of that was very limited. No room service apart for breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location. Dinner good, sommelier helpful.
Cons: Poor value for money. Pool not open. Reception staff unfriendly and unhelpful. One room noisy at night, other room had smell of drains.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely. Location was convenient.
Cons: Very poor value for money! The restaurant has high prices, and whilst the presentation was good the food lacked any noticeable flavour. The room had a dirty carpet, chipped hand basin, a shower head without a bracket on the wall. We were kept awake beyond 3am by the room above in spite of asking reception to ask them to reduce the noise. Very expensive for such a dreadful experience. Definitely does not deserve to be a “Small Luxury Hotel “.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Grounds, hotel and restaurants
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The overall feel was very good
7.5 Good
Cons: The service in restaurant was not good. There need to be improvments for a restaurant that have ambitions
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the historic feel
Cons: Wait staff could be more attentive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The grounds are spectacular, beautiful stone floors.
Cons: I think the pillows, and bed could have been more comfortable, one of the pillows very spongy and one too soft, a little investment in good bed linen and pillows would go a long way for the weary traveller. The room also only had 1 small window and no airconditioning so airless.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: We did not like anything about our stay.
Cons: The hotel was advertised as 5 star. The hotel posted seemingly nice pictures of the grounds and a nice pool. The hotel posted nice pictures of food. But none of this was there when we arrived. The hotel was more like a 3 star. The grounds were poorly kept (brown grass and weeds). The pool was horribly maintained and freezing. We could not swim. The bar food was disgusting. The bathroom did not have the amenities one would expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel (no body lotion, no qtips, cheap products). The bathroom was last renovated, maybe in the 80s. The buffet was low budget. They packed everyone into a small dining room. No intimacy. Cheap floor fan in the room for heat. What a joke. All of this for a price that matched a 4/5 star hotel. Rip Off. But the manager kindly reimbursed us for 1 night of our stay and our meals. This was correct.

Pros: The price is value for money - you cannot expect modern an stylish stuff. The restaurant is great - the breakfast is slightly overpriced for what you get. The rooms are clean but walls are thin and next door rooms showering and toilets you can hear running - but that I experienced also in higher rated 4 star hotels.

Overview Reviews
Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Hôtel Arts et Terroirs is a 1-minute drive from Chapelle-Chambertin and 8 minutes from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for one night on our way back from Spain. We stayed in a nice good sized family room. With 2 very comfy double beds. Typically French slightly dated decor which adds to its charm. All staff were very attentive and I got the impression they would go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The surrounding area is vineyards and very picturesque and there are some pretty villages close by. There are lots of places to eat nearby. I would definitely stay again and would like to discover more of the area.
Cons: The wifi wasn't great, I don't care but the kids need good wifi!
5.0 Okay
Pros: It had old world charms - great location for vineyards
Cons: The electric problems - lights going out while in the bath
7.0 Good
Pros: The welcoming host
Cons: Temperature of the water in the bathroom not hot enough, poor noise insulation from the staircase
4.3 Okay
Pros: The hotel itself was fine. Clean rooms. The lady put our freezer blocks in her freezer and returned them to us the following morning. She did make us the restaurant reservation.
Cons: For the short version - the people here are rude, unprofessional and unfriendly. Here is the longer version. When we arrived, after a 5 hour drive with 2 children, the lady came out and asked us to move the car as she said it was blocking the path to the garden. It wasn't actually, but I moved it anyway. It seemed like nothing but it set the tone for the rest of our stay. When I got inside my husband was checking in, and had asked about the charcuterie which they say they can provide (I had emailed them a week or so earlier to ask about this via this site, or for recommendations for suitable restaurants but they had not replied). The woman was most put out by this and said that we should have told her in advance. If we wanted it we should have ordered it and now she would have to send someone out to the supermarket (a couple of doors down) to buy some. We asked if we could reflect on it and get the kids into the room to use the loo. She was annoyed about this too. The room was not what we were expecting - two double beds in a family room which was not the configuration we had seen on this site (and would make for a sleepless night for our particular kids). I expressed surprise but she said it wasn't possible, it must be my mistake and there was no other possibility. We said we would manage. Later we asked for recommendations for somewhere to taste wine. This was, after all, Gevrey-Chambertin. We also asked for restaurant advice. We were advised to go just next door to a big wine warehouse for wine. In the end they couldn't do a tasting, but quite honestly we were glad as it was absolutely not the kind of place to get a good and well informed overview of the local wines. The restaurant she recommended, which we ate at in the end was overpriced. Use some other form of recommendation, I suggest. When we came back in around 10pm the woman greeted us and asked us to be sure to be quiet as other guests were already sleeping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Distinctive character Logis hotel in the heart of the Burgundy region. Well appointed and comfortable hotel with good breakfasts.
Cons: Evening dining not available.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is good for this region and for visiting wineries Plate of local meet and cheese was delicious
Cons: A bit too old, not a 4 star place. We faced good service on arrival but extremely bad during the evening. We were two families with kids, and staying in the hotel lobby, having food and wine, while kids were playing at around 9pm we got so many complains from the receptionist, we were forced to keep super quite. Note it was hotel, 4 star, lobby and 9 pm. We are not going to bed that early and we would like to spend time a bit, but apparently this place is for retired couples only.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, standard fare of croissants, variety of bread, fruit etc. Lobby and bar area was attractive.
Cons: The hotel exuded an unpleasant musty/cheesy odour when we arrived. The toilet in our family room at first didn't work--eventually I worked out the trick was to turn a small brass tap to fill the cistern, then to turn it off to stop the water running continuously. The lights switched themselves off intermittently, and the room itself was cramped.

6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast is okay, but the room is small and a lot of people get their breakfast at the same time. Coffee is horrible (just filter coffee, not from a machine). Today I expect that hotels can offer a Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato. The room is tiny but okay
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy access from the autoroute, a number of restaurants nearby, clean room
Cons: It would have been nice to have a better choice for breakfast
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was small but adequate..bed comfortable..self check-in was a new feature to us, but ok..
Cons: A/C was non-existent, room was very warm and we could not cool it..and this is April!! Can't imagine what it would be like in mid summer!!
5.5 Okay
Pros: Clean and accessible 24h
Cons: The staff was kind and present but only French speaking. This is really a limit if you want to ask for some services or advice, also ask for a taxi booking was not easy.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location was convenient for me.
Cons: The rooms are extremely small. We had two quadruple rooms for three adults and five kids, it was tight. Bathroom was super small. Just uncomfortable being so tight. No room to even walk around the bed. Breakfast was terrible, a few loafs of bread, yogurt and Luke warm coffee. Disappointed. Go to McDonald's for breakfast across the street, don't pay for breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location near restaurants Security Breakfast
Cons: Bathroom Matrasses
5.0 Okay

7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
7.5 Good
Pros: The beds were good and comfortable, room was compact but clean and with some good attention to practical details. Access with code rather than keys which was nice. Internet connection was fast enough to watch Netflix. Parking was convenient, hotel gave 15% discount for restaurant next door. Easily reachable from highway and close to gasstation & supermarket
Cons: No elevator... extremely cramped breakfast area which in high season is very busy and offers very limited breakfast options. Hallway is very noisy with slamming doors and people are easily overheard. It smelled in the hallway as if smoking had been allowed not that long ago... Area is an industrial area with only cheap hotels and geared to transit travellers for 1 night.

7.5 Good
Pros: The kettle was handy and the free secure car parking. The staff were very friendly and the room was mostly refurbished. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Some more refurbishment is required to make it really good and the room was a bit dirty.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff. Easy parking. Dinner good. Nice practical one night over stay.
Cons: A/C not working well. Lacks power, while outside there was a hot day.. near 40'C. No air cond in restaurant.
7.5 Good
Pros: Stopped one night Good enough for short stay Easy accessibly to Dijon
Cons: Standard
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for an overnight stop travelling back from Italy.
Cons: Air con not working in our room.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Air con.
Cons: Less than impressive breakfast. No bowls for cereal/fruit. Ran out of croissants.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing.- Our most disappointing hotel stay ever in a Campanile in France. - maybe they have lowered their standards since our last visit to France 6 years ago. So disappointed with this Campanile that we went to another hotel for breakfast.
Cons: Very poor service. Air conditioning in room not very effective so we didn't sleep very well. Strangely, towels removed from our room before 11:00 checkout -whilst we were out walking. Had wanted to shower before leaving. (Managerial staff blamed cleaners!- but no discount given for inconvenience) Toilet also not clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent staff on reception, very helpful and efficient. Kettle broke , so was replaced immediately.
Cons: Wifi although was good reception, could not connect to both my laptop & ipad, as system was open one. Restaurant on site had poor selection of salad buffet which we selected, we had already bought a very expensive drink, large beer & small wine 11.50 euros. So after looking at the salad selection we left.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Noisy being near the highway and in an industrial area. Our room had a door connecting with the other room (luckly locked). The breakfast was very poor, mainly bread, jam, some cheese and cereals.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable, as was the bed. The shower was one of the best I have experienced, with plentiful hot water delivered through two separate shower heads. The breakfast was excellent - a good range of buffet style foods available including meat and cheese, pain o chocolat, a the usual bread and jams. Good hot coffee.
Cons: As with most French hotels the pillows were poor. The chain should invest in some English style pillows - larger and more support.
7.5 Good
Pros: Perfect stop over for pets on way to uk
Cons: Toilet dirty needed a good clean! Strong smell of cigarettes!

7.5 Good
Pros: We like the price and the clean room
Cons: No airco. A little bit to small for 3 adults in 1 room
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Staff very unhelpful. We booked joining rooms and fans for both rooms in January was told all fans booked out and we didn't get joining rooms Argued about the fans and managed to get two.
6.8 Good
Cons: Bit too hot in the room
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location for 1 night stay Cheap
Cons: No air conditioning and it was unbearably hot so we couldn’t sleep Next to railway line so if the window is open you have the train noise
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing at all about the hotel was value. The only thing we like was checking out at 4am and getting back on the road.
Cons: The room was extremely small and basic. Very hot with no air conditioning. No cot set up for our baby. We were told off for trying to take a fan for our children. The room was that bad we decided to leave the hotel at 4am. Beware of this place. The shower room has no facilities. No hairdryer no space to move. It feels like you are in solitary confinement
7.5 Good
Pros: clean room and they have some space for car and its in the zone which have mach shopping mall
Cons: the smelling i dont like its disinfectant fluid
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean bathroom.
Cons: The room was unfortunately not soundproof & we could hear noises quite clearly through the night.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing actually
Cons: We booked a family room but got 2 separate rooms. The don"t have real family rooms. Very bad quality hotel Bad breakfast. Too much noise No fresh air in rooms
4.3 Okay
Pros: Easy parking, and friendly welcome. Comfortable and clean bed. Breakfast was basic but ok, although cost another 6 euros.
Cons: Very very basic. No carpets, no decent seat to sit on, broken hanging furniture, no towels and every time the loo was flushed water crept out of a leak in the floor. Broken tv remote. The door did not fit properly. No aircon so only option was to leave windows open, however a TGV railway line is right outside, and on the night I stayed the couple in the next room argued and wound up their toddler for hours before someone intervened. I had to close the windows to get to get to sleep and nearly melted in the stifling heat. It is also in an industrial area, so not the nicest area to be in.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It’s cheap clean and comfy, has everything you need for stop over, second time in yr we used this one and great family rooms
