7.1 Good
Pros: Reasonable value. Clean and close to route we were travelling.
Cons: Tardis bathroom not big enough to swing a cat! Very dated and tired. Staff didn’t know there was a local bar within walking distance!
7.5 Good
Pros: It was clean, hot water, location and price.
Cons: No 24h reception
6.3 Good
Pros: It's cheap.
Cons: The staff had set the bloody airco to 15°C whereas it was 35+ outside. And even though I stopped it, it was back to a darn 15°C (and the bathroom light on) when I came back from work the next day with 38 outside. That's plain stupid. And if it's policy, it's even more stupid. Waste of electricity, and of course I got a cold. The airco had run so much all day long that the room was damp. And on top of it, the blankets are way too warm for summertime. I slept 4-5 hours per night. Never coming back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, efficient staff. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: The wifi didn’t connect and, when I asked about it, I was told that there is a connection problem if you are using Apple products.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was near good restaurants
Cons: Was near to road (which made it ideal for a one night stop) which was quite noisy. Not too bad we did get a good nights sleep

4.2 Okay
Pros: The staff were polite and the breakfast was average
Cons: If you like a sales reps hotel on the edge of an industrial estate far from the centre this is for you. A very poorly located hotel trying to break into the tourist market- you need a car to get there. The taxi fare from the station is 22 euros. As always look very carefully at the map

Overview Reviews
In Boulazac, 3 km east of Périgueux on the road to Brive, Sarlat and Lascaux. Hotel F1 Périgueux is located in the Agora hotel area, close to the town hall, sports hall and Palio attractions. Take a break in our DUO or TRIO rooms (for 1 to 3 people) at very economical prices. A low-cost hotel that offers rooms with Wi-Fi. Open private parking and buffet breakfast at your disposal.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Cheap price but did not offer value for money, shared showers and toilets. Towels not provided. It was very basic.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. We won’t return.
Cons: The front of the property was poorly lit. We felt unsafe in a rundown area. The decor was very tired. Our experience with F1 hotels in the past was complimentary but we feel that there has been no investment in upgrading over the years. Services have deteriorated eg no towels provided, no shower gel, breakfasts have been limited. We will not return to F1 and certainly will not recommend to any of our associates.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Free parking. But the curb was high and I almost broke the bumper...
Cons: It is better to sleep under the bridge. Poverty, stench and I won't go there for free. I waited for man in reception 20 minutes from 23:00, I could do everything at the reception.. The phone did not answer... Congratulations. This was my second visit (other location F1) and just as bad as the previous one. But last one!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Very dirty place don’t try it I will never try again F1 any more
4.6 Okay
Pros: Cheap, staff seemed OK and a sink in your own room.
Cons: Flies in shower room and toilet and they were shared. Small room that was a little dirty and beds were quite hard. Stay here for one night at most is my recommendation.

7.9 Good
Cons: Rail station hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A good, value-for-money hotel. Breakfast was ok. Staff attentive .
Cons: Parking. The hotel facilities quite clearly state "private parking is available on site". One of the main reasons I booked this establishment was to have private, secure parking. I found this not to be the case. I arrived around 7.30pm and was told at reception that the only place to park would be either in the public road adjacent to the side of the building (I found no places available, which is not surprising at that time of the evening) or in the railway station opposite the hotel, which would incur charges. (9 euros I think for a 12 hour (overnight) stint). The local area ( close to the station) is not the most salubrious, and leaving a car unattended does give one cause for concern. I was not told about any private parking, though I did later read on the leaflet placed in the lift (see pic 1) that it is available at a cost of 3Euros - and it is also mentioned in the French version of the welcome pack in our room but NOT, surprisingly in the version translated into English. See pics 3, 2 and 1 above respectively. The possibility of parking my car on site was was never mentioned when I booked in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, good location to access train and walk into town. Great walk along river into town just beyond the train station.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff who spoke English. Excellent location beside the train station and the car rentals.
Cons: Wish the breakfast was included in the price. Or less expensive if you just want a coffee and croissant.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff Location in front of train station Big confortable room Best value for money
Cons: Bathroom No door on shower box and flood floor.Space between toilet and wall too narrow
5.0 Okay
Pros: Not too far from the city center, 15 minute walking distance. We were able to park the car in the hotel garage paying an extra 3€.
Cons: WiFi was not available in the hotel, apparently due to maintenance works. Nevertheless, in the website it was not updated and WiFi available was the information given. Toilet very close to the wall in front (no room for legs in need to sit).
7.5 Good
Pros: Very close to the station.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean and quiet. The buffet was delicious.

Pros: Location is a perfect. 2min walk away from city centre.
Cons: The lift could be bigger. It is hard to find something I didnt like.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location was great
Cons: I was given a room with one bed initially despite having booked and paid for a room with 2 beds. The rooms were very bland. They felt like a hospital room rather than a comfortable hotel.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was excellent, right next to the cathedral and the canal. Short walk to the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was also good (cold continental breakfast with pastries).
Cons: In our opinion, the rooms are dated and need an upgrade. We also found the sound insulation poor as we could easily hear people talking in the hall and could also hear the TV in the room next door.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We always stay here when in Perigueux as it's location is perfect and we think one of the best In is hotels. Always clean and comfortable. Good choice of breakfast.
Cons: As non French you now have to present your passport or other identification. Did not know this in advance so be warned.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great property in Perigueux to stay at. The room was clean, comfortable and it had a fantastic view of the Saint Front Cathedral. The hotel is also very close to the market beside the cathedral with many restaurants and coffee houses around. The parking was so easy just in front of the hotel and free. The restaurant offered delicious food for dinner and breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff was very professional and at the same time very friendly. A good choice.
Cons: Rather small room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, quite modern hotel. Great location (view of Cathedral from bedroom), short walk into city centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Had a lift. We had a very nice evening dinner in hotel restaurant. Limited free parking in front of hotel, but plenty of free overnight spaces just across the street on river bank.
Cons: Nothing. Rooms not large, but adequate.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best staff ever ! Very friendly and helpful ! Super location if you own a dog, as the hotel is close to some walks. Easy to park.
Cons: The isolation between the rooms is slightly weak
6.3 Good
Pros: The bar and breakfast. The bar served me quickly and breakfast was self service, early and good
Cons: The place needs a facelift The corridors were shabby and the carpets stained. My room was pokey and the skirting/wall was starting to rot presumably because the bath/shower wasnt sealed and it was getting through the wall. I had a little black beetle for company all nite (damp). Ran across my face during the nite --- that got my attention! The toilet seat was loose and the flush wasnt adequate --- had to flush it with wastepaper bin, 3 times. When I had breakfast, which was good, I noticed that rafter ends on the verandah/drinks deck were rotten (need attention), and I think the A/C died or was overloaded during the nite -- it got very hot. I was surprised, at a glitzy Ibis: I had expected better
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was quite good
Cons: The service could have been better, the restaurant wasn’t open on Saturday, there was no plug in the bath and when we requested one they were unable to provide one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Cons: No meal on Sunday evening, restaurant is closed.
7.5 Good
Cons: Staff shortage , can’t expect one person ( new) to serve food and see to visitors at reception!
4.2 Okay
Cons: Room was dirty. After entering to the room I was in need to clean floor. I told about that to the lady on reception. She told me that she can bring broom for me. Also lady on reception was very slow. Registration took way to long than I expected.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beds we had were good, semi rural location
7.0 Good
Pros: Good size room, comfortable and quiet
Cons: The staff weren't overly helpful. We didn't realize that the restaurant would be closed and the manager only said 'it is shut at weekends' without offering any suggestions as to where we might go instead.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautifully situated on the river adjacent to a garden and the historic Benedictine abbey. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the dining room delightful. There is indoor parking if you like for a very small fee. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, but it was located in the Abbott's House, not the main building
Cons: Because we booked last minute, our accommodations were in the Abbott's House which is a very short distance across the river opposite the main hotel building. Although we were upgraded to a junior suite, the room was somewhat spartan in its decor. We had a very nice dinner in one of the bistros associated with the hotel, but missed dinner in the Michelin starred gourmet restaurant again because the trip to Brantome was a last minute decision. Obviously not the fault of the hotel. Just a warning that the restaurant is popular.

Cons: Nil

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location and surrounding landscape was phenomenal.
Cons: The ‘Annexe’ building wasn’t fit for purpose. We just needed a good night sleep on our way south but the room failed at all the basic comforts you’d expect from any accommodation. It was extremely cold (the heating wasn’t on), damp and had an old, damp smell so not very comfortable at all. There was load banging noises throughout the night - we think it was the plumbing. As a result we didn’t sleep at all which is the basic requirement of any overnight stay. At one point we considered sleeping in the car! We were refunded 50% of the booking but that didn’t nearly make up for it. It was an exhausting start to our road trip which we wouldn’t repeat. The bathroom needed renovating. Just a bath with a hose. But clean. The bed was tiny, not big enough for two. Uncomfortable experience we wouldn’t repeat. This is for the Annexe Room. I can’t speak for the main chateau but be careful when booking this room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very quiet location Beautiful building Nice furnishings Turret room Good views
Cons: Pullout bed Loads of flies and bees inside windows Breakfast not included
7.5 Good
Pros: Besse was exceptional! Wonderful experience and highly recommended for any length of stay.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and lovely staff. We had dinner and breakfast there which was nice.
Cons: Small things missing like toiletries and Kleenex.
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a breathtakingly picturesque chateau architecturally, with pleasant staff, offering an excellent breakfast and dinner, and opportunities for long country walks.
Cons: Our room was spacious but not air-conditioned; windows were not screened, and if opened for fresh air, dozens of ugly red bugs which nestled in the windows and walls entered the room, which made it unpleasant. The chateau is also very isolated, surrounded mostly by fields and in the distance by farmsteads that are generally miles apart; you really have to travel quite a few miles to Brantome for most amenities, sites and activities.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds that helps you disconnect from the city
Cons: We only stayed for 1 night so can’t say much about it but staff could have been more engaging.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful chateau. The staff were so polite and helpful and they must have an incredible chef there because the food was amazing
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Warm and charming staff, beautiful grounds, wonderful cuisine from the region. Our room was plush and comfortable and the service was excellent. We strongly recommend Moulin De Vigonac and they are well known in Brantôme for their hospitality and food.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, beautiful rooms, wonderful food, lovely location.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What’s not to like about Moulin de Vigonac. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome, a true warm family feel. The setting is peaceful and the hotel has that French rustic appeal which makes it truly delightful. Our room was spacious and very tasteful and so very comfortable in every way. This is a family business and they can’t do enough to take care of you. The food in the hotel is wonderful and we overheard two other guests say that it was better than a 2 star Michelin restaurant they’d eaten at before their stay. We stayed a week, Brantome is around 20 mins walk but the hotel are happy to give you a lift to/from town in the evening should you wish to eat there for dinner which we did a few times. This is a very special hotel and one we will definitely be coming back to.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great welcome and hospitality from the family who own and run hotel. Delightful decor, superb food and a lovely relaxing experience being beside and on the river. Well tended pretty garden and patio areas with quirky features. Decent size pool with a good deep end, not one of the shallow ones.
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a delightful small hotel. The family who run it are wonderful and very attentive to your comfort and needs. Their organization is fantastic. Monsieur is the chef and the dinners are exceptional. The sommelier is very knowledgeable , helpful and professional. This hotel is a gem.
Cons: We liked the whole place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great attention from staff . Michel is a top chef , do not miss his culinary creations
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The setting is wooded with a mill stream running through the property that has been painstakingly restored. There are numerous garden areas where guests can find a quiet spot to relax outdoors. The pool is lovely and private. The food on site was spectacular and came in generous servings. We ate 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts there and looked forward to each meal. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The surroundings are tranquil and we loved the sound of the paddlewheel outside. The owners were onsite and very helpful. We were easy walking distance to the charming town of Brantôme.
Cons: The prices were slightly higher here than at our other 3 accommodations. The food was worth it, though!

Pros: The rooms were quite spacious and showers were good
Cons: It was too far out from Périgueux town centre and need a bit of tidying up - looking tired.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is essentially a hotel for the travelling representative but nevertheless the room was clean and light with a shutter on the door to keep out the light. We had dinner there, a set menu with no choice but all three courses were tasty and well presented.
Cons: The free parking appeared to be the other side of a main road although secure parking could be reserved at a cost of €5.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: For a two star the room was really modern fresh and super clean, the outside appearance is deceptive and a little forlorn but the staff were super friendly
Cons: 26 degrees and the pool was shut and we went into Town in the evening and on our return found ourselves locked out and it took an age to raise someone to let us in and they charge 5 euros for parking what a rip
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean modern room with comfortable bed and linen. Good continental breakfast. On site parking.
Cons: Pool area could do with modernising to the same standard as the rooms.
