The owners where very kind. The place is beautiful and they treat em really well.
In essence it is a very good hotel. It has everything you want. During our stay the internet was not working and the restaurant was closed. Of course this should not be a problem but when we confronted the reception, together with the incorrect prize of the room, they started to behave unfriendly and unprofessional.
Convenient Feel we need to upgrade to get a better room
Great location across from the train station and short walk to downtown and pedestrian shopping area. Short cab ride to board riverboat cruise. Wonderful staff service and room service too!
Staff was very friendly and hotel right across from train station Not particularly clean, window opened to alley with birds roosting and major noise from ventilator or some othr machinery....no screens...it was hot so we had to have the window open
location in proximity of the railway station
Quiet, good location Nothing
Superb location and spacious room. Very kind and helpful staff. Some noise from the train station, but not a nuisance.
The staff very friendly with our room ready prior to our late arrival. Very helpful The triple room (Family room) was made by adding a very little bed. The restaurant closes early with no chance to have room service.
It's perfectly located for an overnight stay when driving from south of France to Calais. The refurbished rooms are a great improvement. We had dinner at the hotel which was fabulous and all the staff were friendly and very attentive. Would certainly recommend it for an overnight stay. It's a little difficult to find as it's not right in the centre and Chalon Sur Saone is disappointing.
The staff were friendly, professional and exceptionally helpful. The restaurant far exceeded the 3-star rating.
Secured parking in front of the hotel Do not book privilege rooms, you get only 4 soft drinks and a different shampoo for the higher cost. All rooms are the same. The hotel is quite noisy from inside the hotel, close the light and look from your room to the corridor, yes you can, there is door gap or split that is big enough.
The Hotel was clean and comfortable with a modern feel. The staff were very attentive.
Close to the motorway, quiet rooms, plenty of parking space, discrete communication, correct informatuon on alternatives and traffic. Location not well indicated, rather out of the center of town, and no dinner offered on Sundays - which contradicts the tourist information brochure of Chalon. the pasta-alternative can hardly be serious.
The staff, the room, bar & restaurant wre excellent. On a five night stop over around France this was the best hotel we stayed in.
The breakfast: lots of variety and always well filled. Friendly staff. Nice, comfortable and clean rooms and bathroom. Ideal for a short stay if you are travelling through France. n/a
very friendly staff, well sized rooms, clean. Even though no closed parking, but parking is monitored 24/7 by means of cameras, and guard walking over parking frequently.
Really close to the A6. Fair value for money in a ver 'standard' place; but adequate for a one night transit stay, which was the purpose of the stop. 'Private' parking all but secured. Anyone can enter this outdoors parking lot.
Convenient access close to highway, free parking, free internet what actually worked well, clean room enough size for single traveller. Pretty old bathroom equipment
Very accessible, neat and tidy. Swimming pool always a plus
The location was great and the room was spotless and large. Everything was as advertised. The dining room was not up to the standards of the hotel.
It's right by the motorway junction and easy to find. There was a large, free and well lit car park. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and had a very comfortable, large bed. The swimming pool was a pleasant bonus. Breakfast, although €7.50 p.p. was generous and had many excellent choices. This hotel isn't in the lowest budget range but represents great value. Nothing at all.
Great service and friendly staff
Location to Autoroute was excellent and easy to find. Food was good and affordable.Breakfast was had a variety of choices.
Excellent room with good facilities. The restaurant service and food were excellent and good value for money.
easy access from motorway booked hotel after seeing ibis advertising new rooms. was offered old rooms which were in a poor state of repair and smelt of smoke.
The fact that check in is open 24hrs is a huge advantage for travellers when they may be experiencing delays. The restaurant seemed to be expensive
Very nice, large, clean room. Bathroom was very clean and everywhere was very spacious and tidy. We were impressed by the location and the style of the hotel. I cannot think of any bad points.
bed, eating, friendly people no
The constant warmth of the place and the nice location
Elegant "ambiance", kind and efficient service at the reception, good cooperation with the restaurant, quiet surrounding. All good qualities you expect from a French hotel. We missed the sign for the hotel on the Route National 6, but this might be our mistake.
We just had a quick overnight stay but we had a lovely night. Excellent breakfast. Room were comfortable with lots of very nice little touches - sweets, mustard and overy toiletries in the bathroom.
The staff was generous and cooperative. They offered the use of their computer when I needed to send an important email. They were helpful and friendly.
Very friendley staff There is no inside connection between the hotel and restaurant.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Too expensive. There qre cheqper otels in Tournus which you did not tell us qbout.
Very comfortable room, with shower including body jets and hammam feature Rather difficult after an excellent dinner, to be asked to place your order for breakfast next morning. Breakfast at 26 euro, far too expensive
It was clean, service efficient, the hotel is convenient with a large off-road car park and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was an odd shape with no views.
The friendly reception,,lovely room with nice touches like chocs and pots of local mustard, excellent presentation when we asked for afternoon tea and also for breakfast. The hotel restaurant is indeed special. Hotel is easy to find and so convenient for the autoroute
Location is excellent. Superb restaurant. No drawer space.
The hotel was roomy and wonderfully clean. Our hostess was a pleasure to meet and was very helpful and friendly ... great hotel to stay in, in a wonderful village No restaurant at the hotel but a great pizza place just down the road with a beautiful river to eat it beside and plenty of pubs ... would love to come back one day. No
It was clean and very quiet as it is situated next to the autoroute. Lovely views from the breakfast area which was serviced efficiently and regularly. Breakfast food and drinks were good and tasty. Our room was on the side of the hotel facing east away from the autoroute. It may be less quiet on the western side facing the autoroute The room had a link door to the next room and if the occupants had made more noise than they did it would have been uncomfortable for us. The shower head fitting seems way too high up on the wall for shorter people to reach and adjust.
The hotel staff are very friendly. The room is very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Super shower. There is no restaurant to have dinner at the hotel.
Helpfulness of hotel management. Good breakfast and free internet. Near to town
See answer to question 1. Its location in Tournus is very useful. No.
Hotel was in good location to the motorway and ideal for stop over night. We drove five minutes from hotel into centre of town easily to sightsee. Hotel was clean and breakfast pleasant. Owners spoke English and were very helpful. Plenty of parking in hotel car park. Location of hotel good but not in particularly picturesque surroundings just outside town.
Very clean, quet, resonable priced. Good breakfest.
The welcome was good and helpful, and recommended a restaurent within walking distance. Our room on the side away from the Motorway has a good view over the Burgundy countryside, particularly if one ignored the builder's works just in front of the hotel. The morning sunrise was beautiful. Proximity to the motorway. Ask for a room on the East side of the hotel
Convenience to motorway and cleanliness Nothing
Freindly well run clean and comfortable with a good breakfast, safe parking a perfect stopover or short break hotel, and very good value for money. I would have no hesitation recommending this place for its purposes.
Easy to find from the autoroute I would not recommend it as a 4 star hotel. If you really want a bourgogne hotel, I would look fo r something else.
Lovely hotel suited in gorgeous old french town in the champagne area, warm and welcoming, lovely open courtyard restaurant with cover in evening, really sweet, good food, very enjoyable stay Toilet light is on timer, which goes out too soon
We enjoyed our stay in double room.Very modern and confortable rooms: right size, advanced bathroom, safe deposit in the room, air condition, magnetis card keys. The one of few hotels in Burgundy which offers free WiFi. Polite receptionists (instructed us to visit right place in Beaujolais village Julienas). Buffet breakfast for 16 Eur seems too expensive. Choice of food and volume is less than in other hotels for the same or less price. All the rest in hotel is just excellent.
good room, quit, well maintained , spacious and clean The bistro food was ok, but nevertheless expensive for the offering.
The staff were very courteous and helpful if a little serious. The room was excellent for our needs; 2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant. Very well equipped comfortable and clean. The location was also very good, just off the motorway but on the edge of a quaint little town (Tournus) The dish we ordered was one of the worst the worst things I have ever tasted (andouillettes). Both me and my wife are both fairly accommodating and adventurous when it comes to dining but we both took one mouthful and sent both meals back (the first time we have ever done this)To be fair the hotel didn't charge us and replaced the meal with a second dish which was fine.
The room, large and comfortable, with a nice bathroom, good beds and very quiet during the night. The dinner at the bistrot was not fully satisfactory. The breakfast was too expensive.
I felt welcomed at check in, the room was well appointed and new. One of the best rooms that I found in my 3 week trip to France. The food in the hotel restaurant was expensive; although it was delicious and well prepared.
Very well positioned to explore beautiful Tournus with its Abbey, good shops and many restaurants Overpriced for what they offer. Breakfast is extra, parking is extra unless you leave your car on the street. Our room was in an annexe which did feel rather second best and reaching it was a trek - up in one lift, down a corridor and down in another lift. The food in the bistro was very average
Comfortable room, and quiet. Very pretty town. Impersonal staff - and a 20 Euro charge for the dog
Mme Marion was a pleasure in arranging local wine tastinfs and providing input into activities. The restaurant is a must!
The relax atmosphere, nice environment in the wine yards and the festivity of two musicians on Friday evening No
I missed a restaurant
Incredible castle located in the heart of Burgundy. Historical monument where modernism perfectly harmonize with the ancient. Apartment was like the work of art, very large and comfortable. Stuff - open and helpful. Golf club reachable in just 5 minutes. The price is more than adequate, because for us, it was more than just a hotel, the spirit lives there. Thank you for making our holidays more special as well as this beautiful region . PS. The castle vine is perfect :)
A very peaceful stay and very comfortable beds. Studio well designed. Breakfast delivered to our door was a treat! Shame there is no restaurant.
It was very peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we wanted after 4 days in Paris. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the wine on offer. The apartments are very modern and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We spent 4 days there but could have stayed considerably longer.
location Didn't take Amex cards
We thought the location was splendid and the room with a view was first class. Breakfast was fine. The bar staff were non existant. Being old fashioned we thought the dinner was very disappointing.
We have had a beautifull time at the hotel. The room was good, the staf was very gentil and we will certainly recommend this hotel to our friends. We were looking for something in the neighbourhood of Taizé, and this was a good place. Ehhhh.... no.
Nice environment - excellent food - great views - it lived up to our expectations Room was crampt for 3 people
First of all the staff and the services.
Beautifully situated in rolling hills of vineyards, the outlook is superb. Nice pool in garden. Decor was tired, wallpaper threatening to peel off, paintwork in need of renewal. The restaurant was ambitous but failed to deliver against a pricey menu with flavour combinations which just did not work. With a price for continental breakfast of €18, the hotel was trying (unsuccessfully) to deliver a package of luxury but instead must be classed as pretentious!
We were made most welcome by everyone. The room was nice and roomy and very warm and comfortable. The food and the service from the M'd was really excellent. We will definitely return there soon.
Excellent location. Great view. There is also a superb restaurant with very friendly service. Need to reserve before arrival. The pillows are not very comfortable.
We were in this area for business, and took a pot-luck stab at this hotel, we were not dissapointed at. I would with out doubt return to this lovely hotel, but this time with my wife! no
Position and Free Parking! Value for the money. Too expensive for the category!
During the hot weather at the time of our visit, the air conditioning was a definite bonus.
Comfortable and quiet cooling system.
Ity was quiet, the staff were friendly and we enjoyed our overnight stay.
No fuss accommodation - good fod served at reasonable rate. No english TV
It was easy to find from the Highway. The room was well cleaned. The Kitchen was not prepaid for all the wisitors freyday evning. They were sold out of different thing at the menucard.
A room presented as "triple" was really a double plus an extra bed... Consequence: a baby crib I asked for was not available. They didn't even know about it!
I'm spending 50% of my time in travel. This was my first stay at Campanile and probably my last one. I booked 2 rooms (we were 5) and when I arrived late (after calling the hotel to inform of late arrival) they had only one room. They finally found 2 rooms but very far from each other (which is not easy with children). The bathroom of one of the room had nod been cleaned, there were no sheets on the pillows of both room, in a room for 3 we had only 1 towel and finally when we had to pay the asked me to pay a higher price then what I had on my reservation ....in one word worst experience I had in hotel
Easy access from motorway. Internet access. Restaurant on site. Not a single electric socket in the room - had to plug computer in the bathroom sovket - and so could not charge the phone sat the same time
Restaurant staff were good - professional and hard working We booked three rooms - two twins and a triple. We got two doubles and a double with a camp bed? This is basically not what we booked - not sure why this was therefore offered, but not a major problem in this case.
It was nice and quiet and yet in a vibrant part of the town, close to the Historic centre. It suited our purpose as a stop-over hotel.
The interior designs were very nice and the owners were very hospitable. Also, there was a comfortable atmosphere, which made me feel at home.
The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, and the hotel a very good value for the level of accommodation. Breakfast is the best buffet we encountered in France! Easy walk to the heart of city. Without a gps, it would have been hard to find--but no problem with our Garmin. Then again, that's true of many of the best lodgings across France!
The suite was superb and the staff were excellent. The manageress even brought us up a tray to our room with an excellent bottle of wine and some nibblies after our long drive from London. We were running late the next morning and didn't have time for breakfast, so she made us up another tray with pastries and coffee - she was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We went to the Sphinx restaurant for dinner - they don't speak english, but it's not hard to figure out food on a French menu and we had a brilliant meal with a very tasty bottle of local wine. I didn't like being charged for parking and I thought breakfast was included, but turns out it wasn't - there was no mention of a breakfast charge when the manager showed us where it was served, so I just assumed it was included.
The owners were very helpful and even took us to our ship on Sunday morning. In fact, the husband drove to the new Hertz location to lead us to drop off our rental as they had moved and not informed us of their new location.
It was like staying over at the house of your parents; everything felt cosy and familiar right from the start. The staff was very nice and helpful and made you feel right at home. It is a very quit and relaxed place while still being about 10 minutes walking distance of the city center. When we arrived at about 16:00 there was no hotel staff around and the door was locked. We were let in the door by passing hotel guests who knew the entrance code on the door. After about 15 minutes waiting in the lobby a teen girl passed the lobby who turned out to be the daughter of the hotel owner. She was gracious enough to help us out but was at first totally lost at how to do that as everyone she called for help didn't answer the phone. After 10 minutes of frantic calling people she got her mother on the phone and got us into our room. About 15 minutes later the maid / receptionist / nice woman in charge was back and approached us with all kinds of apologies.
Room was very comfortable
reception staff - very efficient, very kind - value added.
It was very quiet for sleeping The bed was not very comfortable
hotel was nice clean and classy. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. very subdued atmosphere. Close to the old part of town.Bed was comfortable. Except for one person the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very overpriced. There were no coffee or tea making facilities in room, which we are used to travelling in Canada and USA
their kindness and quality of service, cleaness of the room may be they can change their TV
Great bathroom Very poor bed.
The room was very clean and comfortable (many rooms have been re-furbished since we started using the hotel several years ago). The restaurant has always been of good quality in our experience. The staff at reception and in the restaurant have always been very pleasant although they are obviously not comfortable with speaking English. Between their English and my French, it was not a problem. Nothing at all. We are regular guests due to its loaction.
It is an old-fashion hotel with nice atmosphere. The room was comfortably silent due to double doors and windows. Maybe slighly worn out, but just a little bit. It is on the borderline between being 'hotel with atmosphere' and 'hotel in need of refurbishment'.
i recently stayed in another Best Western and really enjoyed the value for money. This was not the case in St.Regis as the room looked very old and tired.
Hotel staff excellent and very helpfull.
Easy access from the motorway. Easy booking in procedure. Secure car park close to facilities.
Flexability and the opportunity to explore Chalon sur saone during the journey home from Spain. It provided the essentials after a long drive; clean sheets comfortable bed and shower Disturbance from adjoining room. People watching their tv until 3am. We had booked two rooms but were spread apart. Attention could have beeen given to placing families together and attention should be given to sound proving walls
Convenient place to stay near the motorway.Next door to a Campanille for dinner.
Convenient to major highway
easy to find, practical, value for money although I am a smoker, even I thought the room smelt too much, and my family felt even stronger about this. Next time I will book a non-smokers room.
Check-in possibilities 24/24 Really narrow room
cheap, close to the motorway. The rooms all smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, one child and one adult both got bitten during the night by bed bugs or fleas,
Friendly helpful staff., Difficult to park car and caravan even though advised by telephone that this would be fine.
very very small room, barely possible to move into the room, the bathroom is very small and uncomfortable little bit far from the centre. there was heavy smell of cigarets , although there is sign everywhere not to smoke !!!
