The setting of the hotel is nice, situated on a lovely lake. I felt that this hotel was not good value for money, the food was very poor and the room was also not great. Our bill for room and dinner for one night was 250 Euro, we stayed in a 5 star Chateau during our stay for the same price!!!!! Very over priced
We had a wonderful stay, very nice room, affordable priceshelpfull staff and a good restaurant
We liked the hotel location overlooking beautiful grounds. The hotel has a good, but limited and repetitive menu. Also, we found it difficult to carry cases passed a door at the top of the stairs, which opens over the stairs instead of the landing.
The welcome was as warm as the hotel, which in January was very important. We loved this hotel. Nothing.
Spotlessly clean, well appointed, individual and extremely comfortable and welcoming I did not dislike anything. An excellent little hotel.
An attractive rural hotel close to a small town with a fine walk along the river The food in the restaurant was a disappointment
A nicely appointed room, windows that opened wide, lovely large comfortable bed, high quality all-cotton bedlinen, and a superb shower; all very clean and very quiet; free wifi an excellent addition; hotel has off-street parking and the location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore La Rochelle, Saintes, Cognac, or the surrounding region. The food was good, but the set dinner menu at the hotel restaurant was expensive for the limited options it offered; the town has a good bakery for anyone wanting an alternative to the hotel's breakfast, but is without alternate restaurant facilities; that said, there are numerous restaurants in St-Jean-d'Angely, only a few miles away.
Lovely setting. Good welcome. Menu presented to us in English which is always helpful and food was good. Nothing really to see or do in village itself.
Quite typical french hotel in nice surroundings ,Good food at reasonable prices No lift to first floor could be difficult for people with large luggage but proprieter would carry cases if desired.
old mid 19th century house, recently refurbished, very good breakfast the restaurant offers a fixed menu if prior reservation is made. no other places to eat in the village
Ease of location, informality, excellent food, peaceful setting, and genuine welcome extended by everyone we met.
Food was good, staff were helpful. Black mold in corner of bedrooms, rooms damp and very basic. General condition of buildings was poor.
Excellent for an overnight stay None
We stayed in eight Campaniles...This was our first Campanile we were so please with our choice the bedroom/bed was spotless floors were clean and the air conditioner worked without stale air blowing in our face at night the food in the restaurant was excellent this Campanile spoiled us as we did not have the same quality with others throughout our stay in France. We were very disappointed in the bathroom it was not up to the quality of the rest of the Room/Hotel it had huge holes in the wall around the shower and mold around the tub... The sink, and toilet were spotless.
Efficient check in/out, friendly staff
I would´t recomend it: too much money for what you get. Location on a suburb spot, near warehouses and industries.
We arrived late and I was tired having driven for the first time in France. Although the restaurant was about to close, we were able to eat and I was so grateful for that.
Quality/price ratio Bed was pretty soggy - new mattresses needed?
Ok for an overnight stay but not suitable for longer holiday in my opinion
Clean, good bathroom and bedroom space. Staff good. Tea/coffee facilities appreciated. Breakfast not good value for money as limited selection - usually wider range in these hotels. We paid Euros 5 for similar breakfast at another hotel on the same trip.
