the possibility of a guarded parking the possibility to have two single beds instead of just a double one
We liked the decor, the updated bathroom, the helpful staff, the breakfast, free wifi, and a good restaurant for dinner. Didnot like to pay for parking garage.
good value for money the room service was a bit long
friendly staff and clean and nic ehotel
The staff was very helpful. Luggage was not delivered at the airport for one of our group. They stored it for us even after we had moved on with our trip through France. We couldn't have been more pleased with their help. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
the location in the heart of the centre we did not have a bath, only a shower, but the friends we were with had one, so apparently, there are different room types for the same price, they should at least mention this and preferably give you a choice (I would have loved a bath, after the marathon we did on Saturday!)
The bed was very comfortable and a very good shower. Our room did stink of cigarette smoke when we arrived. We aired it as much as we could and sprayed it with perfume, but in this respect it was fairly unpleseant.
The studio room was very nice, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent!
Customer service was A+++. They were always helpful, cheerful, courteous & informative... Rooms were lovely, and location perfect - an easy walk to train station and market, as well as being next to the main street for shopping & boutiques. This was my third stay here, and I intend it to be my destination hotel when I visit again... Nothing to dislike...
The hotel was bright and modern The situation - it was difficult to find. The restaurant was closed so we had to go looking for somewhere to eat
The hotel was easy to find. Parking facilities good. Although this was on Nov.1., i.e. holiday in France with basically the whole city closed down, the hotel resturant was open and served excellent food.
Comfatable for a family whilst staying overnight during travel. Not English speaking at all but personally i think this is nice
Easy to find, nice quiet room (as requested)
Breakfast was fairly good according to french standards, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. No airco in our bedroom.
I liked the accessibility to the city and the regular train line. Staff was very helpful No
Nothing Noisy, dirty, in disrepair (shower, bed, tv, heating)
Staff very helpful and friendly especially given that it was an onvernight stay which helkped us make the most of it. None worth mentioning
It was very easy to get to from the train station.
Its location was excellent for walking around town.
Friendly staff, one of which upgraded our room (at no extra charge) on account of our little one. Parking was a nightmare near the hotel so we took advantage of the hotel's secure parking (8 euros)
Availability of private car parking area Breakfast was somewhat chaotic
new decorated rooms, great breakfast, excellent hotel
The hotel and staff was really great! The dinner there was very nice and good tasting. It was located out in the countryside and was very quite at night. Really beautiful place surrounded by vineyards. Absolutely nothing, it was all great and would go back there again!
nice location, prestigious chateau
breakfast dog excrement in the garden on our private patio. Not being taken immediately to an appropriate room due to my mobility restrictions, and that I had outlined that in an email.
Very nice environment, good restaurant
Room was great. Excellent property
The Chateau was everything we could have hoped for and one of the best we have stayed at even though we travel through France regularly. One night was not enough. The dinner was incredibly good and excellent value. We chose a "comfort room" rather than the duplex as more in character. Would not have wanted to spend so much if we'd paid full price - the half-price offer was brilliant. I will not spend 20 euros each on breakfast anywhere! The mattress felt lumpy and not up to the standard of the rest of the room.
An exceptional hotel, one of the best we've ever stayed at No complaints at all
A very beautiful manor that has managed to keep it's originality (in the older rooms). The food was very good, if you like a more gourmet and expensive menu. Hard to find but worth it. No lift in the old section.
very quet and nice no
in the middle of the city no
Secure parking, although a bit expensive Bathroom was spacious but not exactly clean
Its location in the city and the parking The bed was too soft and the bathroom was not clean (champignons)
hemquality of the breakfast and the friendly service at reception The cost of having to park a car on top of the accomodation costs
The lovely, deep bath!
We reserved a non smoking room but were given a smoking one. We were moved to a non smoking room, but were downgraded so the room was not as nice. You could barely shut the bathroom door as it banged into the toilet. The air conditioning did not work so we could not sleep due to the heat. This is a shame as the hotel itself is really nice
nice hotel room, very clean, well decorated, very modern.Hotel cituated in the center of the city, well located, Parking available, but not suitable (procedure, available spaces, to narrow...) Breakfast room too small, no privacy since other people were placed at your table. Poor parking facility.
very secure car park and excellent breakfast reception etc good the floors due to the age of the hotel were up and down and not ideal for my wife with a walking disability there was no baggage trolley for moving luggage to the room
quiet rooms although in the heart of the city next to busy taffic roads, clean rooms, air conditioning in all rooms No variation at all in breakfast during 7 days stay / issues about car parking (moving of cars to allow other visitors to leave earlier, ...)
Secure parking. Good restaurant, well frequented.
The design of the rooms was unique. Fabulous meal in gorgeous dining room. Very good service from staff. Bathroom small, only a hand shower. If bath had been fitted the other way round it would have been possible to have had a proper rain shower in the ceiling. This was a shame as only slight gripe about whole stay.
Interesting decoration Quality of dinner Simple design for little bathroom No individual reading light on head of the bed
expensive for what it was
A very expensive hotel with cute but impractical design, and rhe Internet connection was rotally useless.
Cleanliness of the room and diner at the restaurant that was really good. The size of the room was a bit small for a hotel in this category
helpful staff. The restaurant was superb if not a little pricey. The local towns were all closed due to the holiday period.
Location, comfort in rooms The restaurant was closed - even though we had stated in our reservation that we appreciate reservation of table for a dinner..... We visit france for your exceptionel food and vine, i.e. lack of service in the restaurant was dissapointing.
The staff were very pleasant, the food was good and the room very comfortable.
Pleasant waitress. Good room.
Generally what I expected but the three buffet menu was very good. I would recommend Balladins again.
There was nothing that I liked about this hotel and therefore this section could remain blank. No restaurant on sunday evening. If this hotel has been refurbished as claimed then think again.
Pleasant place for an overnight stay. Within reasonable walking distance of interesting town with choice of restaurants.
Convenient location Shower didn't work properly and was very inconvenient
Nice and friendly staff. Close to the autoroute. Free parking space within the premisses. Little terrace in front of the building, annex to the restaurant. Keep in mind that this is a pass through hotel, located outside the city centre.
the room was very cool (thanks to the airco!). because of that you get a good night rest.
There was an on site restaurant which was great No Tea/Coffee making facillities in our room.
Quiet room No possibility to have dinner outside
The personal of reception
Room, service and breakfast excellent, as always. I have been wondering for years now why the food in all the Novotel restaurants (called Coté Jardin) is so bad and overpriced. Could the Novotel management please decide to turn all the Cotés Jardin into nice brasseries with good food at an affordable price? The faithful Novotel customers would thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
Ease of access from Motorway. Poor quality of food, i.e. overcooked and cold. General service in restaurant I would consider poor.
it was noisy in the night, the food was a bit dry and cold
this was an average hotel but the location was good for us as it was right off the highway. the service at the restaurant was very slow and the food was not very good. The beds were not very comfortable.
Very convenient for the trip to Italy. Just of the motorway but no road noise at all. The last time I stayed at this hotel was some 12 - 15 years ago. It still looks and feels the same as it did then with little or no updates. On my return to the uk we stayed at Reims Novotel. A much nicer and more modern hotel and room. Again I had stayed there before , however this hotel has moved with the times and has adjusted to the modern needs.
coffee making facitilties; gated parking very poor and overpriced breakfast
Well-equipped, helpful staff, easy to find, convenient. Room in good order. Nice breakfast. Why do you require a minimum number of words?
Very professional staff. Excellent restaurant
A convenient hotel, (stopover on journey to Provence). We like Novotel for it's consistent quality & comfort etc. The cuisine! Nothing changes really! Poor choice, expensive & could be better.
The reception clerk was particularly helpful and drew us a map of the restaurant we wished to go to.The situation of the hotel near the River Saone was excellent. The area was quiet at night and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. Macon is a clean city with beautiful flowers and a "romantic garden" walk near the river.
Quality/Price ok. Nice view from the rooms and breakfast area. very helpfull personal, on our departure, they recomand us to visit Cluny, which was a very good choice, to get the fealing of old time France. Thank you.
The receptionist was very welcoming; we liked the decor and the atmosphere and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was easy to find the hotel and the surroundings were very pleasant.
restuarant was closed - it would have been nice to know that in advance
Secure car park and friendly staff
The location. The air conditioning system was completely insufficient and even setting the system at 15 degrees we were unable to cool the room down. This was very disappointing considering how much we paid to stay at the hotel
Staff were very friendly, especially the restaurant waitress. Our room was very warm when we arrived. Outside temp was close to 30C, room not much different. Someone from reception came up to take a look at the air con, said to turn it right down (to 15C). This we did but no joy. Complained next day again, was promised an air con engineer would come up to room. No sign of said person. Another uncomfortable night, and when complained once more, was told that we could have been offered another room if we had complained at time of checking in! Were offered a 10% discount for one night only as compensation.
It is very difficult to write 15 wards about things I liked about this hotel. I think it is possible, that is the worst value for money hotel that I have stayed in. Where do I start? Steep steps up to reception - very friendly. Room uncomfortably hot, bath-room grubby. Hot food at breakfast, finished at 9.45am, when breakfast finished at 10.30. Toilets for general use, by the reception, were disgusting at10.00am and when I reported it to the receptionest was told they were clean at 8.00am. I also noticed the disabled toilet is down a steep flight of stairs. I did ask to speak to the manager and was told - He was on holiday!!
You feel at home. Very friendly.
We like the Dutch couple who runs the Hotel of which we have visited from their start 11 years ago and they still remember us even though there has been a slip of 2-3 years no, but maybe it would help if the servants at the restaurant could speak better English
the manager went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. NO other mortal could have been more helpful. All the staff were kind, caring and helpful. We even had an upgraded room at no extra cost.
The food The room furniture
In a very nice location, the owner of the Maritonnes are great. and I will return to see them if i pass again in the Beaujolais.
This was a beautiful hotel. We booked an extra night as we were so impressed with it. We were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious with balcony overlooking the balcony. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The dining room was excellent as well with a beautiful buffet breakfast. It is also easy to locate with good signage.
We found the hotel location great for exploring the Beaujolais. We were disappointed that our choices from the dinner menu were not available on 2 evenings.
Large room, & bathroom. Large & comfortable bed, nice garden view.+
Room, patio and food were good. The front and reception area could be more attractive.
Restaurant was ok. Rooms were very basic and old.
Room are too small for 4 persons. Our 2 children had to sleep on matrasses laying on the floor. Kitchen staff stood smoking that's why we went somewhere else to eat.
Cooling in the room The hotel was difficult to find, address information incorrect. The room was reasonable but not great for 2 adults and 3 kids. The building as a whole looks very worn down.
Nothing The staff were obviously over stretched and under staffed. Dinner was appalling, we did not get two of the orders we had placed, and it took three attempts before we were told that what we had ordered was not available. We accept that it had been a busy week end however the staff's response was down right rude and in the end we refused to pay for one of the meals.
Finding the hotel was a nightmare, the location information was poor in the extreme. On our second visit on the return journey the towels had a strange smell
good hotel for an overnight stopover en-route to Cote d Azure
We enjoyed a brief, but excellent stay. The owners could not have been more welcoming.
Fantastic, friendly owners/staff
Lovely hotel in a nice situation. Superb rooms and facilities.
Design of the rooms, location, personal note
Excellent staff who were very helpful. Good location on the river and close to the city centre. Rooms well decorated, cleand and with a spacious bathroom.
The pool was great Extremely uncomfortable night due to heat. They could really improve the experience with air conditioning
Excellent location, near the Fleurie village and vineyards, as well as others Beaujolais villages. Very calm. Good buffet breakfast. Free WiFi. Nice and strictly non smoking room. Cleanliness. Very nice stay. The hotel should offer some food to dinner. We suggested them to offfer a light menu, like soup or salads, and cheese and wine, of course..
Very friendly; free WiFi
The location in the vineyards and the owners attention to detail top quality linen and towels. A bonus on a very hot day was the delightful pool.
we liked the friendly approach of the staff , the position in the country and the closeness to Fleurie
everything very well maintained and an obvious attempt to meet every need. International newspapers etc. Very nice greeting from staff and willingness to serve.
We were welcomed warmly on arrival by the owner Mme Despres. The hotel does not provide evening meals so Mme Despres recommended a local restaurant and kindly booked a table for us, The food there was was excellent. The hotel itself is high standard, in a nice setting and had comfortable beds . We did not have time to enjoy the pool or the sauna. We enjoyed our stay albeit brief. I would go back there.
Clean, welcoming small hotel on edge of town/village within easy walk of centre, rooms reasonable size, comfortable double bed
A nice freindly quiet hotel in a lovely area of France. Shame there was no mresturant.
