Cons: Some parts of hotel a little dated.
Pros: Breakfast was a little sparse based on UK expectations, but was about right for European standards.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff Enjoy our stay very much, thank you!!!
Pros: Great spot! Hotel was old world with a nice update! I would book again.
Pros: Hotel The Originals Les Amandiers is situated a short walk from the Rhone and the centre of Tournon sur Rhone and Tain l’Hermitage. The hotel is family run and this shows immensely in the feel of the hotel. The hotel was easy to check into and the secure parking is great and within the hotel grounds so it is easy to transfer your luggage from your vehicle. Our room was very spacious , modern, spotlessly clean and quiet. We stayed two nights. We were given some great information and maps of both towns which made it easy to get around them both. (Including the wine shops and Chocolate factory) In the evenings we made the short walk into both centres and were not disappointed. There are some great restaurants , bars and shops and wine. We had breakfast at the Hotel both mornings which was very good and had plenty of choice. We highly recommend a stay at the Hotel.
Cons: All excellent. We wish we could give a score of 10 plus. Thank you to you all for a great stay at your lovely Hotel!!!
Pros: Comfortable bedroom
Cons: Location was not very good.
Pros: Such friendly people here and the lady (owner/manager?) spoke excellent English. This was a quick stop-over at a convenient place on a long journey. We were able to park our motorbike in the garage - ideal - but the parking area is secure with automatic gates and barriers. The room was efficient and the bed large and comfortable. Exceptionally clean Nothing to complain about - it was a good choice.
Cons: Everything was good and we have nothing to complain about. Just a quick comment that the hotel is slightly away from the restaurants and supermarket, probably a good 10 minute walk away.
8.9 Excellent (302 reviews)

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The property and buildings were delightfully idiosyncratic. The reception and attention we received from our host, Fabrice, were really exception. Fabrics was very engaging, helpful and informative.
Cons: Although it didn't affect us for our visit, parking could end up being somewhat congested if the establishment was full.
Pros: The host was welcoming friendly and informative He prepared a fine supper for our second night and served a fabulous complimentary wine from the region.
Pros: The host was great! He tried everything to get us comfortable. From the terrace you have an amazing view over the city and vineyards. It definately invites for a glass of wine in the evening. I highly recommend this place.
Pros: Fabrice was a perfect host: charming, attentive, helpful
Cons: Ideally the room would have been air-conditioned but we did get a good night's sleep in any case.
Pros: Beautiful location, private terrace next to the room is lovely, owner is really attentive!
Pros: We had a GREAT time. The host was making sure every quest met each other and doing so we all had a wonderful time. Nice dinner and good company. Perfect.
Cons: The room was a little crowded, but adequate. The place, for us, a little difficult to find, but our GREAT host was down on the main street looking for us.
Pros: Fantastic friendly hosts... made to feel very welcome, delicious food and amazing wines at great prices. Nice room with a panoramic terrace out the double doors... would Definitely stay there again if we're ever in that part of France.
Pros: Fatastic location. Hosts very helpful and with good recommendations on how to discover the area by bike and by travelling around. Very good and kind service!
Pros: Fabrizio did a great job and we enjoyed to stay at Manas place. Thank you very much for you hosting and the good breakfast. Nothing we missed!!!!!

Pros: Everything. The room was very nicely decorated, while it as not very spacious. And the dinner and breakfast were superb as the other review mentioned. Excellent restaurant hotel
Cons: I preferred bath for our bathroom but the shower was fine.
Pros: The best meal I've had in my life. Thank you!
Pros: The staff were professional, friendly and attentive. Food was good, wine was beautifully paired with the food. A/C was effective, worked well compared to some others.
Cons: The restaurant (especially the wines) was a bit overpriced.
Pros: Great food and spacious rooms.
Cons: No pool.
Pros: Excellent hotel-restaurant in the best French tradition. Friendly and professional welcome. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Not huge but big enough. We had dinner in the excellent restaurant at night, and it was worth the while.
Cons: Not much at all. It was very hot inside the hotel and rooms, in the rooms we resolved by turning down the heating and opening a window.
Pros: M. & Mme. Chartron were absolutely charming. The meals were EXCELLENT and our rooms was perfect. Would recommend this hotel and Restaurant to anyone.
With a stay at Hotel de la Villeon in Tournon-sur-Rhone, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Le Jardin d'Eden and Chateau de Tournon. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
Pros: Delightful surprise behind a non descript huge door in a wall. Lovely garden with view over the vines. Delightful staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Very comfortable beds. Delicious and copious breakfast
Cons: 1, The location is very strange, navigation cannot find, has to drive reverse direction to reach the hotel. 2, There is no parking space, just a old house next to the old block, there is no way to talk about 4 stars. 3, At last moment my daughter decided to travel with us, more than 30 square meters of room, didn’t provide us an extra bed, must add another room. One of the two rooms has no warm water and cannot be bathed so cannot be sold. It only subsidizes 15 Euros，we 3 people use the bathroom in another room. 4, the attitude of the female manager on duty that day is very unfriendly, saying that if we do not accept her arrangement, we could go to other hotel. It was already evening.
Cons: Breakfast was very French i.e we missed fresh orange juice, strong coffee. Would be great with a pool or an outdoor shower. It would also be great to get water on departure. Recommendations regarding restaurants could be better.
Pros: Very good home made jams. Extraordinary list of Rhone wines but odd as no restaurant.
Cons: An open entrance. Apparently there was a telephone outside but it was poorly illuminated and we had to hammer on the door to be let in. Small room with few shelves for clothes.Bathroom had virtually nowhere to lay out toiletries and medicines. Theshower tray was made of a lethallyslippery plastic
Pros: Was like a private house with few rooms, secluded big garden and very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Cons: Attic rooms at the top floor do not have much light. Would probably pay more for a bigger room on the lower floor next time.

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good size room and bathroom. Good location with secure parking.
Cons: Only paper cups and insufficient tea and coffee supplies
Pros: Great location. Really luxurious rooms. Nice outdoor area with pool. Dog-friendly. Staff helping with questions about the surrounding area.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit expensive so we skipped that. A bit of an argument with restaurant staff when we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine. The first person said it would be okay to enjoy the wine by the pool, whereas when the wine didn't arrive and I went to ask, there was another person just a bit passive aggressive telling me like it was super obvious that it is against common regulations to drink by the pool. Whatever, the wine was good and we were happy in the end, but her attitude and the confusions of the regulations was a bit annoying.
Pros: Unquestionably the place to stay in tain. Everything is there and walking distance from wineries and chocolate shop. rooms are generously sized and comfortable. Amazing parking. Decent beer. Very decent wine list with wines from all over the place and not just chapoutier!
Cons: Restaurant closes on a sunday and the bar area is not always open though getting a beer when it's closed is not a problem. Poor choice of television stations. No BBC which is odd for such a businessy hotel. prefer the old name which was Pavillon de l'hermitage. New latin name sounds pretencious
Pros: Newly renovated property owned by Chapoutier. Very clean and new rooms. Not all facilities ready at time of stay (spa and gym). Heated pool and onsite private parking a plus.
Pros: Good location with safe parking
Cons: Restaurant had a very unusual menu - for the main course, rabbit, octopus, sea bream, three kinds of ravioli and a vegan dish, plus a couple of salads.
Pros: The location was close to wine cellars and Rhone River. Modern hotel with restaurant if you wish to eat in.
Pros: Nice pool area and heated water
Cons: The staff

Cons: There was nothing to not like.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I really appreciated the fact that there was an air-conditioner and tea making facilities in the room. The young man on reception was very welcoming and I really appreciated that he offered to carry my case upstairs to my room.
Pros: staff were excellent.
Cons: charged for breakfast.
Pros: Catered for our needs in cycle tour. Popular with cyclists. Room served our needs. Very popular restaurant and very good meal. Have never seen waitresses walk so quickly!
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: Good comfortable accommodation Secure oarking good breakfast and excellent dinner
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere of the hotel.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. There is limited space for car parking and I didn't want to leave my car on the street. The staff were really helpful and moved cars around to allow me to park in the car park. Also sitting outside late in the evening enjoying a drink relaxing ready for the long journey the following morning.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
With a stay at Hôtel la Chaumière in Tournon-sur-Rhone, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Le Jardin d'Eden and Chateau de Tournon. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Hotel staff/manager attitude. Told that we had to have breakfast by 8.30 as hotel was closing at 9.30
Pros: Arrived during a very wet afternoon and greeted by very friendly host. Great place to stop as right in the middle of the old town and next door to the old castle. Great restaurants in the area and the restaurant here was also fantastic. Our room was the 2 bed room and so comfy. Only problem was the noise from the traffic as it is on a main road and the traffic goes the whole night. Would love to go back here in the spring as the river and surroundings look great. Thanks to our very friendly host.
Cons: Shower amazing but bathroom itself is a tad small but manageable :)
Cons: No parking as advertised on website
Pros: Cool even on v hot day with no AC. Friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Great location. Traditional old fashioned, almost becoming "retro". It was the only hotel available in town that night on booking,co for 3 people. Was not expecting much but very pleased
Cons: A bit dark but that is because it is old style. Noise from street and bars but that didnt bother me because I was so tired.
Pros: Friendly atmosphere ,lovely staff and good food
Pros: Very few.
Cons: One thing is sure we never come back to this hotel. We could not sleep all the night, terrific traffic noice, loud live music even after midnight. It was hot night, but could not open the windows. The dinner was poor. The staffs atitude were, when in France, speak French. We felt insulted. The menu was only in French. so simply asked what is it, beef or pork or fish. Even though busy, they could show positive atitude. Furthermore we were demanded to make payment in the evening which was the first experiience through the entire trip.
Pros: French traditional, croissant, baquette, confiture, jus d'orange, café au lait and thé. The dog liked the place and we did had a nice conversation with the man owner.
Cons: My wife is not easy in walking and we had our room at the third floor, 2 not to easy stairs. We had selected another restaurant (we did not know we could have dinner as well); therefore we had to pay in advance according the lady owner.
Pros: Very friendly staff, does whatever it takes to meet your needs, also for safe parking of our bikes.
Cons: Breakfast is OK, but eggs and youghurt would have been nice..

Pros: Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Cons: All fine
Pros: Near river
Cons: All good
Pros: The location was excellent, A lovely view of the river. Although it situated on a busy road it was very quiet at night. It was very good to have secure parking in the garage.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant meal was not too good. Breakfast ,however was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Pros: Lovely reception . Ice cubes given for our bottle of wine. Free lollies
Pros: Le Château was such a great find. The staff were excellent. Even though the hotel is dated 1836 (?), it was well maintained. Our air conditioned room was a bonus. We also had a very good dinner.
Cons: Due to the age there was no elevator but the manager kindly took our bags to our room. Parking was available for a fee but we were able to park in a blue zone that required a clock and only allowed 1 1/2 hour free. The breakfast at 11€ each seemed a bit high.
Pros: The situation.
Pros: Location was easy to find
Cons: We were kept awake by noisy residents playing music loudly and then woken up at 6am to a fight outside which involved the police. Not a great night’s sleep
Pros: Great staff and service.
Cons: We booked for 1 adult and two children, but we need to make an extra payment for the third person! There was also tourist tax..
Pros: The a/c bedroom!
Cons: Limited parking available

Located in Mercurol-Veaunes, L'Abricotine is a 5-minute drive from Cité du Chocolat Valrhona and 5 minutes from La Cave de Tain. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Really friendly people running this hotel. They deserve success. French breakfast was better than average.
Cons: I came back to this hotel after 2 years because I recalled the restaurant to be exceptional. The restaurant is still very good, but not as good as I remember. I think it has changed ownership since my last visit? Some repairs and maintenance are also required in my room. Nothing major, but it would be sad to see the condition of the rooms deteriorate. Despite my comments, I still think that this is a great place to stay near Tain L'Hermitage.
Pros: Was very quiet. Good to sleep. Only an overnight stay. Staff was very agreable
Pros: We were surprised to find new owners at this hotel that we always use as a stopover when travelling to the Var. Fortunately we were very happy with their welcome and service and will have no hesitation in continuing to keep up our tradition of staying there.
Cons: No complaints.A relaxing evening
Pros: Dinner and breakfast. Staff. Clean room
Cons: Some renovation needed but they seem to be working on it. A bit noisy with road next to hotel.
Pros: The food was superb in the restaurant and the staff were lovely
Cons: The bedrooms are going to be updated, but our bed and pillows were fab
Le Castel is located in Tain-l’Hermitage town centre, on the banks of the Rhone River. This former school building offers air-conditioned rooms with cable TV and free WiFi internet access. Each room at Hotel Le Castel is soundproofed and furnished with a work desk. They also have a private bathroom and shower. The hotel also offer a three-bedroom apartment for 6 people. A full breakfast buffet is available daily, and can be served on the Castel’s terrace. Guests also have access to the hotel’s drinks vending machine. Le Castel Hotel is easily accessible by the A7 motorway and offers free private parking as well as a garage for motorcycle and bicycle. It is situated opposite the Hermitage vineyards and wine cellars.
Pros: Very spacious and confortable rooms.
Pros: This hotel is in the middle of a significant renovation. It has a sister hotel opposite on the same street. This sister hotel manages the operation of Le Castell, including check-in and front office business. The sister hotel is called F and S, it is one star more than Le Castel, it should be on your site. Of the two hotels it is the only one with a restaurant. (Yes one has to cross the street and walk 300 yards to get to breakfast). The restaurant is Bistrot Marius. It is a jewel. Dinner was an elegant sprite. Service great, menu broad and well prepared and presented. Breakfast was a buffet hot and/or continental. For a small town like Tain this is a very recommendable restaurant. At Le Castell parking is easy. Le Castel has no staff or personel other than cleaning personel.
Cons: See above, because the hotel is currently managed by excellent staff who are across the street in another hotel there is no staff presence in Le Castell. The main doors are open to anyone all day and night. It is controlled by camera and the control center is across the street in the other hotel. Tain seems like a safe town, but Le Castell has no onsite security. We enjoyed our stay we would stay again, but we would prefer to staybat the sister hotel across th street.
Pros: Lovely town and managed to a nice open air restaurant on one of the many squares
Cons: Advertised as a establishment with restaurant bar and has neither
Pros: Easy to find reception in other building. Good safe parking, excellent staff. Good central position.
Cons: Shower was a bit small.
Pros: Quality mattress, shaded private parking, excellent option for overnight stay when travelling to South coast.
Cons: Crowded bath unit, but bearable
Pros: This was clearly once an independent hotel but now functions as the annex for a much smarter hotel across the road, where you check-in. However, the rooms have been well modernised in a lovely 'boutique-chic' style! Parking is very easy and convenient. The hotel is very well placed for visiting this interesting town and the caves de vin.
Cons: Everything was fine.

Pros: Excellent varied breakfast
Cons: The bed was,not very comfortable
