Good value. Room was small but adequate - you get what you pay for. Not a bad place to overnight but 1 night was enough.
I am a non smoker and the room was infected with the smell of cigarette which affected my sleep.
Not much at all. It was relatively inexpensive I suppose. Getting to it off the main road and finding it in the middle of what seemed like an industrial estate was difficult. Although it was inexpensive it was still only 20 Euros cheaper than a four star luxury hotel we stayed in at Genoa. There were no staff, it's all automated. The room is a stopover really, little stacked porta-cabins with one small window. The shower would not accommodate someone disabled like myself. The breakfast was ok, but it was clear that staff regard this as just a cheap, rough and ready stop over. Everything was plastic.
although small en-suite facilities were important. beds were comfortable. no room facilities eg kettle to make a cup of tea especially as the hot drinks machine was out of order.
As we arrived on a public holiday and many cafes etc shut ,handy that it was surrounded by a supermarket, very good Leon restaurant directly infront.
Staff were helpful and the rooms were just what we wanted, basic but inexpensive No
The unbelived view , very nice stuff . No internet available in the room , a lot of noise from upstaire .
the hotel was ideal for a quick one night stop on route up through France. place to eat next door and just off the main road One of the rooms had a connecting door to another room that was not locked so we requested another room. THe bed cover in one room was also very dirty.
We enjoyed a ground floor room just as we had requested at time of booking Unswept under the beds
The wireless connection for free in the room is simply great! Plenty of shops and restaurants very close to the hotel. Not difficult to find if you come from the motorway.
My son, Mike Puplett, stayed in a room adjacent to the hotel manager and was kept awake most of the night by the constant telephone calls he received. My comments above are based on my experience. As above
We stayed only there as a night stop during our trip to our holiday-address. We just want to sleep and have breakfast and the hotel forfill our expectations.
location excellent.. staff very friendly, courteous... so called family rooms far too small and almost no storage..have stayed in accomodation as small in Paris for similar money but proper storage and use of kettle made hotel much more attractive.
Low price good for only 1 overnight stay. Good parking outside. Terrible size of room. We booked a triple but think they merely added an extra bed into an already smallsized double room. Can you imagine an airplane lavatory ? That's what size the bathroom is. Limited breakfast for € 5 a person.
it's actually called Bonsai Hotel and this meant we spent 15 minutes trying to find it
close to a few good restaurants. recommend the Hippo. rooms well fitted. only 2 bath towels for 5 to share.
Rooms layout giving families a degree of privacy and security
Hard bed, noisy room, poor T.V. quality,
value for money both room need shower curtain
Price. The noise from the other rooms.
Very comfortable beds meant a good night's sleep was had by the whole family. Very clean and well kept room. Good buffet breakfast. No facility for an inexpensive evening snack. Food expensive. Receptionist not always at the desk. Room rather small for a family room. We were rushed at breakfast - staff started to clear away the buffet before we had finished eating.
ease of check in Food
Very efficient and friendly staff. The room was spacious and well equiped. The whole hotel was very clean and well presented. The food was excellent.
As we were travelling across France from The Alsace to Honfleur it was very convenient as a stopover as very near to motorway. Easy to find thanks to SatNav! Not really a long term holiday hotel.
It was a great stop over point for travelling through France, the xbox in the foyer was a a welcome surprise for the children after a long journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Food was good but expensive, good facilities fort the kids Room was adaquate for a family of 4 for 1 maybe 2 nights as a stop overbut would not recommend for longer to small.
Very Peaceful and very Clean
Location was convenient. Dinner in the restaurant was the first inedible meal after 2 weeks in Europe. No way to control the ventilation and air circulation in the room, making it a hot airless box in which it was impossible to sleep.
The hotel was excellent value and perfect for our overnight stop as we drove to spain
I very comfortable, spacious, clean and a super resturant
Pleasant staff, agreable accomodation, uncomplicated process None
I likes the fact that it was only 2 stories high There was no hot water for the first 4 hours after arrival. The room needed decorating, and was small. The restaurant was closed .The soundproffing between corridor & rooms was very poor.
Room quite small but everything necessary in place. A desk suitable for working and internet connection.
resonable price, good choice for breakfast, staff very pleasant and helpful even when busy. room ok, facilities good. good value for money. bit difficult to find, even my sat nav struggled with it. needs better signage especially at night time.
Clean tidy hotel, quiet location near motorway. Reasonable price. There is no mention that the hotel retaurant is closed on friday, saturday and sunday, quite important I think. not enough pillows.
The night staff were very friendly and helpful - supplying ice and olives while the bar and canteen were closed all weekend. We did not know the bar and canteen were going to be closed during our stay
Nice tidy rooms with excellent beds. Personell were nice and helpful.
We were most impressed by the standard of cleanliness We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open on a Sunday evening.
Excellent location near a large park, Walk to botanical gardens, Great for kids, Park outside room, Large rooms
Friendly professional hardworking staff. Mild residual smell of tobacco smoke in the room furnishings and pillows. Tiny wardrobe. Difficult to find entrance from main road.
your reception staff on the arrival day was very abrupt and not very helpful
Small, compact, budget. Get what you pay for. Clean, good breakfast. No tea/cofee making facilities in room
With no evening restaurant, it was great that next door was an excellent fish and seafood restaurant. The breakfast was very good, the staff friendly and helpful, the room clean and there was plenty of hot water. Altogether good value and, for us, a good stop-off point heading south from the UK.
clean and comfortable room with good access to local food places and excellent breakfast as well
Price, OK for our dog, neighbourhood of Orleans
Beautiful situation by a tranquil river. Adequate off-road parking. Bedroom and bathroom improved since previous stay. Food attractively served and very tasty. The restaurant prices are becoming expensive for the food offering by comparison with its regional competitors.
Location expensive and rooms quite small
Friendly staff. Lovely location by the river although needed car to get into Orleans as this was some distance away. Car park for hotel was easily available. Room quite small for double and single bed. Air conditioning unit did not work effectively and the room was extremely warm during the night.
The strongest features of this hotel are (1) its beautiful public spaces, (2) its tranquil riverside location, and (3) the presence of a first-rate restaurant in the hotel. Our room was minimal, with a decor in need of updating. It did, however, have a very nice view of the river, and it was clean.
The setting and the food
Stayed only 15 hours. Room was as expected, offering reasonable value for money but not especially comfortable. Room was rather old fashioned. My main interest was a good dinner - in fact restaurant was very quiet, staff courteous but too evident, food Ok but definitely not up to the standard I expected, or justified by a Euro 40 menu. Restaurant/dinner did not live up to my reasonable expectations.
Very good restaurant, good wine list and generally a very pleasant and accessible location on the banks of the Loire. Room was very average - quality of bathroom and fittings not good, bed not comfortable, bed linen "tired", lots of noise from plumbing elsewhere in the hotel during the night. Overall, not a very relaxing hotel for an overnight stay.
It had a lovely setting on the River Overpriced, rooms small and drinks very expensive
The restaurant You can come there several times and they do not recognise you
The well appointed rooms, easy access location, pleasant river walks, bathroom facility, quiet and pleasant staff. The traveler reviews were helpful and accurate. None
It's a good enough location because of how close it is to the Tram and there is a McDonlands. The breakfast was 5 euros and you could get a good amount of food. The rooms get pretty stuffy and hot if you don't open the window but if you open the window bugs can fly in and you can hear the noise of the cars that are traveling on the roads near by.
I like the fact that the hotel was very close to the tram stop so I could get there very very fast The room smelled like an ashtray - like the other room I checked. The shower was not in the room. The toilet was dirty and the bad looked like no one has never changed it.
Cheap and easy to get to as stopover on way to South of France. Door stuck badly. Our room opposite a "live-in" guest/staff member who kept three dogs in room, with door permanently stuck open - it smelled badly. Hotel charged for room over 3 months before we were due to stay, insisted they hadn't and charged us again! Will no doubt be refunded.
I wish the visit Orleans city, but I can't find any prospect map or program offers about the city.
Cleaness of the room, No bbc or cnn only Frech tv, proor breakfast variety
The advert described the room as having a bathroom in reality it was a WC with a shower down the hall but otherwise good for the money and right on a tram line with plenty of places to e places to eat around;
You get more or leass what you pay for... Good connection to the city center. Quite basic in all what you get there.
The shower room in the corridor smelled like a public lavatory and was dirty and stained. My family could not use it. Thank goodness it was for only one night.
Although a simple hotel it was clean and well placed for the tram into Orleans
The cleaners vere noisy.
it was clean. They did not take credit card for payment, they tried to make my five year old son sleep in a travel cot and the room was tiny.
The staff were very friendly. The credit card payment device was "faulty" so I had to pay by cash... no receipt for this payment was offered; therefore there is no record that I've even paid. My wife and I shared a double bed. It was a bad nights sleep. It was like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. We kept rolling into the middle of the “mattress” – as it formed a valley. I was physically tensed all night trying to counter this rolling action and thus my back was hurting next morning. I was in the middle of a 550 mile trip home – it didn’t make it any easier. The “continental" breakfast, next morning, was served in a separate hotel a little way down the road; it just wasn’t value for money. 1 croissant each and a quarter of a baguette with a few sachets of jam €6.00.
near to the chateaux and restaurants in the evening
The details on the wb-site as I choose the hotel because it was in the centre of town, and the particular room because it was said to open onto the garden. In the event we were put into a room on the firstr floor of a semi-detached house over a kilometre from the town. The room was very, very, basic. In addition, the hotel tried to charge an additional 12 euros for a kitchen we didn't use, and then demanded payment in cash - without providing change so they still owe us 1 euro.
Central and comfortable room Second floor with no lift and a very narrow garret like staircase from first floor
Good breakfast, great four-poster bed in my room! Nothing.
Clean, quiet hotel, very easy walking distance to the chateau
The staff were the best of any hotel I've stayed in...seriously. They couldn't do enough for us and made our visit really special.
Very clean room, pleasant and helpful staff. Situated very centrally yet parking was no problem. A nice old building, well modernised and beautifully decorated. None
Efficient friendly sevice, ideal location providing good facilities at reasonable price
Really helpfull manager and staff. Easy to get to cityt centre. Off street parking, and suprisingly quiet location. Nothing, for an overnight stay
M. Marc Hirondeau is an exceptionally friendly and helpful hotel Director. Hoter offers simple, comfortable, quiet rooms. Good breakfast. Free parking. 20 minutes walking to central Orleans or good bus service (up to 21.00) within 50m. Perhaps a drinks machine would be good, but this is a great value for money hotel.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel grounds were peaceful and the location was not too far from the centre of Orleans (20 mins. walk). Excellent buffet breakfast No complaints.
It was convenient for a stop over, friendly staff and helpful I would have liked a kettle in the room and maybe nets on the windows so you could open windows without getting flies in
A pleasant hotel in lovely grounds. It has good parking facilities and is within easy walking distance of Orleans centre. The manager was very helpful and spoke excellent English. A member of staff recommended a very expensive taxi firm which were obviously just trying to exploit tourists. We took one from the rank in Orleans well after midnight and it was less than half the price of the previous cab. The same female member of staff was unpleasant and unhelpful, even when we spoke French. What a shame, the hotel was great otherwise!
Very clean, pleasant helpful staff, convenient for city. No tea making facilities
The hotel was conveniently located close to the city. There was very convenient and secure on-site parking. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel room was large and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a variety of selections.
Great reception from the Manager who gives an excellent overview of Orleans and good restaurant recommendations. Convenient for city centre (20 mins on foot- 5 mins by bus from just outside the hotel) but quiet with good (free) parking. Comfortable hotel with value for money prices. Note that there is no bar or meals other than breakfast.
Chateau de Chicamour was a fantastic experience! Excellent value for money, super quiet hotel, and in the morning you'll be woken up by the birds. Magic! Very relaxing. It was worth the extra 30 kms we drove to experience it!
Lovely setting, rooms tastefully decorated. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Loved the hotel accomodations. However, dinner in the restaurant was not a big succes; grumpy waiter, very mediocre quality food.
Beautiful, traditional small chateau in lovely grounds at a very reasonable price no tea making facilities in the bedroom, and there didn't seem to be a bar.
The location of the hotel Interior is old and worn down.
Excellent hotel with welcoming, friendly staff. Dinner was extremely delicious and good value for money. Good location for visiting the Loire valley chateaux.
