Pros: It was a very clean hotel, and we enjoyed the breakfast. The sweet lady who was in charge of the breakfast did everything with a smile on her face :)
Pros: Location was excellent

Cons: The bathroom was a little unclean in corners.
Pros: It has everything I needed to be comfortable.
Pros: clean and modern
Cons: louysy parking facilities' not adequately marked
Pros: Very pretty location and friendly staff.

A stay at Roam Inn places you in the heart of Munising, steps from Hiawatha National Forest and Lake Superior. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Surprised with an upgrade to Room 16. Won’t be able to stay again in any other room now! Got lucky with the weather - the sunrise over the water from the balcony was fantastic! Sat in the bar downstairs and enjoyed chatting with the bartender.
Cons: The only negative was the in-room coffee. It was pretty flavorless.
Pros: Wow! This inn is high quality. What you get is not what you expect from outward appearances. Beautiful and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Great amenities.
Pros: Quaint property with very comfortable room. Excellent restaurant on site.
Pros: Well decorated, tasteful rooms. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: -no dislikes
Pros: Breakfast was limited but it was good. The suite was large but it could have been laid out better.
Cons: The walls were paper thin. Everything said in the next room was heard in our room. Also the bathroom was very small with no room around the sink. All toiletries had to be kept in the bedroom. Also there were no drawers available for unpacking. Also, there was no parking room for guests. All parking spaces were utilized by restaurant guests. I had to find parking on the street and then go out again at 10pm to move the car into the lot. Very unusual and inconvenient.
Pros: Very quiet place and we loved the decor.
Cons: We had an issue with a wet carpet and chaise lounge in our room upon arrival, but the staff was very attentive and immediately addressed the issue and we were pleased with the outcome
Pros: Beautiful view from balcony in front of hotel. Convenient to downtown and Picture Rock Cruise.
Cons: Slightly dated
Pros: The rooms were fantastic! Very spacious and clean, so much so I didn't feel like I had to wear my flip flops around the room. You also get a discount at a bunch of places in town just for staying there. The dinner at the restaurant that is a part of the inn was AWESOME! The food was so delicious, we had the steaks. The staff was very pleasant, especially Brittany!
Cons: The breakfast could have been a bit more hot food.
Pros: Great restaurant onsite
Cons: A little pricey for the area
Pros: Spacious room with comfy beds! Friendly and accommodating staff. Biggest bonus was the amazing restaurant with fantastic food! Great location.

A microwave, refrigerator, and in-room dining area are included in every room at Village Inn Motel. Private bathrooms come with free toiletries. Extras include a desk and a fan. Vending machines with drinks and snacks for purchase are available at the Village Inn Motel. The property offers free parking. The Eben Ice Caves are 6 km away. The Munising city centre can be reached in 20 minutes’ drive.
Pros: The couple running the place are lovely and the inn is set up so that the rooms face towards the sunset so we had dinner watching the sunset :)
Pros: Everything! The Village Inn was the cleanest motel we have ever been in, and we've been traveling for over 50 years. The motel is a throw back to simpler times. All the essentials are there. 2 queen beds, tub with shower, quiet comfortable sleep, TV, AC, desk, breakfast. The owners at the front desk were very friendly. and treat their guests like family. I can't stress enough how clean the room and baths were. It's a rare experience when you can find a motel which meets all your needs and then some. Thank you Village Inn for being perfect!
Cons: There was nothing not to like
Cons: Bathroom floors got very slippery
Pros: The property was exceptionally clean. Very welcoming & professional staff. I was very satisfied with my stay!
Cons: Absolutely nothing
Pros: Mom & Pop atmosphere. Very clean & friendly
Cons: Could use some protein for breakfast food, instead of offering all carbohydrates. But, it was a nice array of food.
Pros: It was good for the money and I will go back and the bed were ok.
Pros: The owners were so friendly and helpful. It was the cleanest motel room we've ever stayed in. It was quiet and comfortable. They offered a good continental breakfast: a selection of cereals, several choices of pastry, muffins, or bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and coffee or tea. There's a wonderful ice cream shop (Mama's Cow) in Chatham, which we enjoyed.
Cons: We didn't have any complaints about the motel. We would definitely stay there again. It was a little far from Munising (about 17 miles), but we knew that, and still enjoyed staying there.
Pros: Owners were very nice, and helpful about Picture rocks and local falls locations, very clean rooms and comfy beds. Their "cold" contiental ( bagels, yogurt, fruit, ceral etc) breakfast was better then some high end hotels "hot breakfasts". Next time Im in the area, i know where were are staying!
Cons: Honestly eveeything was good, would of liked a pool, but not a deal breaker!
Pros: Everything inside and out was clean and very comfortable.
Pros: The staff was amazing and knowledgeable about the area.
Pros: Staff was super friendly. The rooms were newly remodeled and very clean.
Cons: The beds were a little hard but no problem
Pros: Everything! Top to bottom remodeled with nothing out of place. Very nice continental breakfast layout to boot.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Charming owners and I couldn’t recommend the establishment enough!
Alger Falls Motel is a beautiful 16 room motel in Munising Michigan. We are located near the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore, numerous waterfalls, and wonderful hiking trails. Winter time we are located right on the snowmobile trail, and near skiing trails. The rooms are equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee pots. We have an a great Recreation room with laundry, pool table, Foos ball, and Pizza oven.
Pros: Great location, clean, and quiet.
Cons: It was great, thanks.
Pros: This place was very clean, neat, had good lighting and was nicely decorated. (I especially liked the pictures of a couple of the nearby Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore sites). The fridge had a real freezer which was great. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It’s a bit out of town but that meant it was nice and quiet. :)
Cons: The room was lovely but a tiny bit cramped. I say this just in case you have a lot of luggage etc. to bring into the room. It was not a problem at all for us, but it’s the only drawback I noticed. We really liked this place!
Cons: For this price you cannot get better offer. Clean, quiet, location very good.
Pros: Bed was super comfortable.
Cons: Just a very nice place to stay at.
Pros: Room was fine
Cons: No breakfast
With a stay at The Beach Inn Motel in Munising, you'll be steps from Hiawatha National Forest and Lake Superior. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: View was amazing. Love all of the waterfront seating.
Cons: Bonfire please??
Pros: The receptionists were very nice and ready to help at any moment. The motel is right by the lake. Although there were mosquitoes who ate us at night (it is best to install blue bulbs to remove mosquitoes), the location is charming. I'd love to go back there.
Pros: Beautiful view of Lake Superior! Not an actual beach though.
Pros: Great location from Munising; it was a 1-minute drive from town, boat cruise, etc. Hotel felt new - very well maintained. Guest room is large with rear access to beautiful outdoor space with plenty of seating and games for enjoying lake view and sunset. Bags of ice was appreciated. Breakfast adequate.
Cons: I think it would be appreciated if the hotel alerted guests to the fact that there was road construction (road closed H58 east of hotel) so if GPS would bring you in to hotel from east; it was a dead end. Fortunately we came from town, overrode the GPS which said it was 45 minutes away.....easy 1-minute drive. Front desk clerk also was unclear if road was closed heading east (it was/is). Room is large but has no closet, no where to hang anything. Not very large parking lot. Interestingly enough, very little in town in the way of restaurants, shopping, etc. but boat cruise terrific and plenty to see and do. Although front desk highly recommended the Dawgpatch - evidently everyone goes there it was really busy, grossly understaffed and no management present.
Pros: Breakfast was good and location was good. I think price could have been a little less.
Cons: Beach to swim in lake.
Pros: Breakfast and location were ok.
Cons: Room fixtures and style getting old and in need of repair - toilet handle and sink handle. Beds not as comfortable as Marriott for example.
Cons: Under staff housekeeping. Room not cleaned till 40 minutes after posted check in time 3:00. Not able to enter into reserved room till 38 minutes after 3:00 pm
Pros: We liked the close approximation to town and the beautiful view of Munising Bay. Parking was good. Was close to many falls. The big grassy area was pleasant with many seating areas. Beautiful sunset views. Room was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: For the cost of a king size room, the bed was the biggest disappointment. Very uncomfortable. We thought we could kayak right off the beach since it was a lake side hotel, but there was no access to water because it was blocked off by a string barrier and large rocks. Not having a firepit was a disappointment. Did not like the noise of the sprinkler at 5 am near our window when we wanted to hear the soothing waves of the water.
Pros: Continental Breakfast was clean and very nice, coffee was hot and ready!
Pros: Beautiful view, friendly staff, helpful information
Cons: Breakfast, staff was handling food without food handling glove
When you stay at Sunset Motel On The Bay in Munising, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Hiawatha National Forest and Lake Superior. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I enjoyed the location as it was easy to get to the sites. I also enjoyed the view and the chairs for guests to sit in not only by the room door but also in the grassy area to rest and look at the water. The room was clean and the cottage feel was nice.
Cons: Could use some updating for the price we paid.
Pros: Good location. Beautiful view of the lake and outdoor area to enjoy it.
Cons: The rooms are terribly dated (invest in some new bedding and other updates). The room was also an awkward configuration. While we liked having the beds in separate rooms, the space was tight for this. The bathroom was terribly cramped and, again awkward layout.
Cons: There is as a constant water dripping sound in the roof and walls all night. It wasn’t raining. Very disturbing which did not lead to a good nights rest.
Pros: Wonderful location.. Don't miss the turn into the parking or you will wind up in the bay..
Cons: Room was so cute with the knotty pine, made the curtains seem tacky..
Pros: It was clean, liked the knotty pine paneling, nice view of lake superior, mattresses were comfortable, close to downtown.
Cons: bathroom was too small, hard to maneuver oneself.
Pros: Just a roll and coffee is very poor.
Cons: Overpriced. Two bed take up two rooms. Would like sitting space and not bed. Get sleeper sofas.
Pros: Main thing going is location and view. Property is tired and overpriced.
Pros: Grassy sitting area by water (water not accessible). TV worked. Shower, if you could reach it and weren't claustrophobic, had great water pressure. Nice flowers outside rooms.
Cons: Prices was total ripoff given the rooms and amenities. We got 2 beds, which were 2 beds in separate rooms. Bathroom only accessible thru the back room, and it was grossly evident how they restructured it for both the joined rooms as the shower/tub was so jerry-rigged that you had to turn sideways to access it. They tried to get away with unfinished wood looking like "natural wood", but it just looked unfinished. Very dated. Cont'l breakfast was coffee and plastic sealed Danish. View of bay from room was obscured by the cars in the parking spots in front of the rooms. Small windows only opened half way We realize things are different in the UP, and for $89 a night, this might have passed, but not $170!!! And fyi, I think the only place you'd want to eat in town is the bagel ship--very good. Avoid DogPatch, again total ripoff and awful food.
Pros: the breakfast wasn't the greatest. the location was great, have stayed here before. the view of the bay is great. sunsets perfect.
Cons: the only thing wrong was getting there, they are working on the road. but that is not the fault of the motel.
Pros: Breakfast was prepackaged danish and some fruit.
Cons: View outside of our window was of the cars. Beyond the parked cars was a nice grass area bordering the waterfront. The grass area was quite nice.

Guest rooms will provide guests with a microwave. Buckhorn Resort offers a continental or buffet breakfast. A variety of popular activities are available in the area around the accommodation, including hiking, skiing and horse riding. The nearest airport is Sawyer International Airport, 61 km from Buckhorn Resort.
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful and we loved being out away from everything.
Cons: Everything was great, if I really had to pick something negative it would be that there really isn’t easy access to Hovey Lake from the resort property.
Pros: Great scenery. Good restaurant.
Cons: Rooms are a bit dated and worn. Also they are small.
Pros: Very quaint, very clean, great food at the restaurant. Nice and secluded.
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Cons: No air conditioner, way out of the way, breakfast not good, backwoods. But somehow you don’t want to be critical of the place. Very average.
Pros: The room was spacious. Parking was easy.
Cons: The state of wifi broke this trip for me. We booked our room as a place for my husband to work while in the area. We were camping in Pictured Rocks and knew that in order to work, he would need to have access to reliable internet during the day. And my son and I could fish, swim, etc. during the day while he was working, head back to Buckhorn to pick up my husband, grab a shower, if needed and head back to camp. This way, we wouldn't have to have ALL of our stuff with us ALL the time. Kind of like camping lite, for the amatuer campers. But the Wifi was not trash. I hate to be THAT dramatic, but it was not useful at all. We checked in and had the only vehicle on our row of rooms, and the internet sort of worked. It was doable. But as more and more people returned from their daily adventures and all of them got online, the wifi was unusable. The thing is, that the $360 for the stay was worth it to me, to be able to have these comforts- for my husband to be able to work, for me to be able to check in with family (and my job if necessary), along with the first night stay. Not having to have ALL of our stuff with us all the time was worth it. Without reliable wifi, we had to pivot. We basically didn't go back to the room, except to pick up the little stuff we had left there the first night. My husband had to work from a coffee shop in Munising, and I spent all of my time managing the stuff we brought (that included a lot of non-camping stuff), that we had to keep with us. I know that most people don't come to the UP for the wifi, but we weren't in a position to be able to fully disconnect from work and we needed the wifi. Also, I wasn't prepared for how remote the UP was, how long it would take to get anywhere and the lack of cell signal anywhere. If you need to have reliable access to wifi during your stay, this is not the place for you.
Pros: Pet friendly. Close enough to town, but secluded enough to our liking. Huge room. Plenty of parking if you are pulling RV, trailer or a boat. Free WiFi is much appreciated, since there is almost no service on 1 hour radius.
Cons: My bad, but I didn't realize there is no AC available in the rooms. Fans are provided though. Breakfast is very very basic.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed being close to the restaurant so we could walk over for dinner or dessert. The room was very clean and the breakfast was adequate. We loved the location. It is close to waterfalls and Pictured Rocks.
Cons: Air conditioning would have been nice but we opened windows and used the provided fan.
Pros: We appreciated the size of the refrigerator/freezer. Also, appreciated the railing in the bathtub, it's a great safety item.
Cons: Room was small for two queen beds. Getting to the bathroom required going through a narrow space between the bed and the wall.
Pros: Although quite a distance from town, enjoyed the quiet. Nice view. Good to have bar and restaurant on site. Nice continental breakfast.
Pros: Of all the hotels in the area this is the best. Using gps can lead to sketchy dirt roads but the hotel was kind enough to provide detailed instructions on how to avoid these road
With a stay at North Star Hotel in Wetmore (Wetmore), you'll be steps from Hiawatha National Forest and a 3-minute drive from Wagner Falls. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean comfortable room for my family of 5. Good breakfast.
Cons: Lacked curb appeal and not in town
Pros: The whirlpool.
Cons: It was kind of far from being in town. The staff originally was kind of rude but then the lady who checked us in was very nice. Room was kind of small and nothing fancy for the amount of money we paid.
Pros: It was clean and convenient. Staff were friendly and joyful. Breakfast was the best I have had for a continental breakfast at a motel. Beds were also very comfortable and clean. I would stay here again for sure.
Cons: Key card didn’t work but not much of an If deal. And this next issue goes with all motels. It seems the AC units fan always cut out at night. I wish the fan would stay on always. Or provide each room with an extra fan. Small issue and not a make or break.
Pros: I like that it was locally owned and operated. The location was in a great location to get to many of the sights the UP has to offer.
Cons: I thought this hotel had a pool, but it was a whirlpool, which was great for the adults, but our 7 year old was less thrilled.
Cons: It was rated 4-star, but closer to a 2-star. Other than rating all else ok.
Pros: The front desk person was very helpful and pleasant.
Cons: The price was very high!!
Pros: Very clean rooms and comfy beds. Great location from pictured rocks
Pros: Very Clean, standard complimentary breakfast .
Pros: This was not a four-star hotel. Was at best maybe a 2 1/2
Cons: I think I was Misled by the rating
Pros: The hot tub and sauna were very clean, and it was a REAL sauna! The beds were very comfy and the hotel had everything we needed, even a coin laundry.
Pros: The beds were comfy:) the room was clean, the front desk lady was sweet, the breakfast area lady was rude.
Cons: The shower was awful. The water pressure & shower head need work. Breakfast was not good. The eggs/sausage were disgusting!! The tv remote doesn’t work right. No microwave in rooms either.
Pros: How clean and quiet it was
Cons: I wish there was a pool
8.0 Excellent (84 reviews)
With a stay at Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Munising in Munising (Wetmore), you'll be steps from Hiawatha National Forest and a 3-minute drive from Wagner Falls. Featured amenities include a computer station, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location is good
Cons: It was very noisy, even the air conditioner and the refrigerator make a lot of noise and make hard to sleep. Also the bed is very uncomfortable. We couldn’t sleep well. Breakfast is not good either
Pros: The breakfast eggs were awful. Coffee was good. Staff were very helpful and nice!
Cons: The room smelled of urine and slightly of what I think was mold.
Cons: This place was extremely over priced.. absolutely nothing special.. hot tube was so small.. kids running up and down the halls sounded like a earthquake..
Pros: Very comfortable! And close to all the activities we were interested in. Very nice staff
Cons: When booking we saw there was a pub then when we get to the hotel they tell us the pub is only open Tuesday through Saturday that should’ve been something we were told when we booked
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: We have been traveling for 2 weeks and this was the most expensive location. In contrast, the breakfast was the worst. There was never enough room to sit down and enjoy the breakfast. The location of items was also congested. For example, the refrigerator with the butter was located below where the waffles were cooked. Also, the coffee and tea was located in the lobby and not in the area where people were eating.
Pros: The pool and hot tub were nice and clean
Pros: Everything, the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the pool and hot tub were great. The location was perfect for the sightseeing.
Cons: Not a thing.
Cons: Breakfast could have had more options
Cons: The breakfast room did not have enough tables for everyone. The room keys on the second floor do not work properly.
Pros: It was clean and had security doors
Cons: Airconditiong was noisey
Pros: Very comfortable.
Cons: The hot tub was the dirtiest I have ever seen. Check in person was not very friendly.
Cons: You, Kayak you want to know how our trip was to this hotel. I'd like to know why you are enquiring. When we got to the hotel, with young children, they told us we were cancelled by 'Expedia' Monday, Aug 5, 2019. If we booked through 'Expedia' why do you want to know what kind of stay we had? And why did Expedia cancel and not notify us because it was a real rude surprise to find out we didn't have a hotel to stay in and all hotels in a 2 hour radius were filled. We drove 2 hours and 45 minutes out of our way to get literally the last two rooms in the only available hotel in the city we stayed in.. I'll never book other than with a hotel directly.
With a stay at Pictured Rocks Inn & Suites in Munising, you'll be a 1-minute walk from Hiawatha National Forest and 6 minutes by foot from Lake Superior. Featured amenities include a computer station and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: There was an empty bottle left in room which means it really wasn't cleaned before I got there. Way overpriced for what was received. I had to figure out way the TV wasn't working. The A/C had to be turned down to 66 just to cool the room. No do not disturb placard in the room. Will not stay there again. Way, Way, Way overpriced.
Pros: Location was great and could not hear next room!
Cons: One downfall was parking, cars not parking straight made it hard to fit in the small spaces that were painted. Do not get booked above pool..it echoes bad into your room.
Pros: Kids liked pool.
Cons: Complimentary breakfast would be good. Most hotels do that now.
Pros: Very clean, nice location, pleasant staff
Cons: I thought it was overpriced, room was small and no breakfast
Pros: Location is what appealed at first but travelling further the next day, more of a selection of hotels up the road were better options
Cons: Doors to rooms require slamming to close. Very noisy till 11/12pm. Unknown stains on sheets and towels. Carpet appeared recently cleaned but bad odor in room. At check=out, wanted to alert front desk but she would not come out from back to talk
Pros: Close to waterfront attractions, a short walk to amenities
Pros: Not much of anything.
Cons: The fact that we were switched to a different room 3 times because of an error on their part. Our personal things were moved without us being notified. There was no breakfast offered and the price was high. We were put on 2nd floor and no elevator. Very disappointed .
Cons: The side entrance door was unlocked and opened without the key. Room was extremely small.
Pros: Beds were very comfortable
Cons: Needs some updating
Cons: Worn, but clean. Pillows need replacing. Refurbishing needed.
Pros: Nice pool for kids.
Cons: Needs updating and more electric outlets.
Pros: Right smack dab in the middle of it all. The 327 bar and restaurant within walking distance, nice place. Literally minutes from kayaking and the Pictured Rocks boat tour. Yes I would recommend it highly. Just a short distance to State parks and beaches. Have fun on your trip.
Cons: No complaints at all.
