Pros: Lovely location in a quiet area of the town, but only a 5 minute walk down the main street to the harbour with shops and restaurants on the way. Suzanne couldn't do enough for us and we appreciated the little extras like chocolates in the room when we arrived. We would recommend this place to anyone and if we are in the area again we will certainly stay next time.

Pros: Can not rate this place any higher. Had an amazing weekend and the property and staff were amazing. Catering to all needs and super location for local amenities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and fresh rolls etc were left out so that we could make our lunch which was so helpful. We could not fault this B & B. I think they have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. The location was also ideal. Only a few minutes walk into town and the harbour.
Cons: Cannot think of anything that I didn't like!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The whole package was well thought and offered lots of little extras such as a fridge, wine glasses, coffee machine, sweets
Cons: We always like off-road parking and were lucky enough to get the space on the driveway but the other guests had to park on the road where there was quite a bit of foot traffic at times. We realise that parking is beyond the owners control given the property's age and position so this is not intended as a criticism.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners went above and beyond with all the extra touches.( Fresh milk. Sweet jar and biscuits to help yourself , plus a shelf in the fridge for each room. Also liked the fact you could make up a packed lunch for no extra cost . ) The big fluffy towels ,and nice comfy beds . Great breakfast too. Lovely friendly hosts. Couldn't do enough for you. We'll definitely return. Thank you.
Cons: Nothing. Top place .

Cons: Nothing a perfect base for our golfing and holiday activities
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Made very welcome. Lovely breakfast. Definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We did not need to ask for anything. Copious amounts of tea, coffee and milks etc. Also, fresh milk was supplied for tea in the room if we wanted it which we took up. Bottles of water were also supplied in the room. You could not wish for a nicer couple than the B&B owners, Donna and Paul. They were expertly knowledgeable for the area and beyond and would converse as much or as little as you wanted. They made us welcome from the moment of arrival to the moment we left. The rooms were spotless and the bed linen was top quality with the beds superbly comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with traditional English if you want it (my fav) and fresh fruit, juices, cereals etc and all in between. I could write much more, but I will finish by saying there is nothing more you could wish for in a B&B. A home from home which is something even a top hotel cannot offer.
Cons: Nothing!!

Pros: The owners were lovely, very friendly and helpful with local knowledge about sightseeing and days out. The breakfasts were delicious and the room was very clean and well stocked for tea and coffee. We’d stay again if we ever go back and we’ve already recommended Slate Hall to our friends and family :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Just returned today from Seahouses after a 4 night stay at Slate Hall B&B. Accommodation was great. Lovely room - king size to front of building. Very comfortable, lovely big bathroom (3/4 steps down from bedroom, en-suite). Room and bathroom cleaned every day (not that we made a mess!). Location is just a 10 minute walk from the Main Street (there are a few varying times for walking on the reviews, but really, at a steady pace, 10 minutes on a straight road!). Breakfast was fab. Menu for breakfast to be selected the night before and you can select a time from 8.15-9.15 for your breakfast to be served. My partner had the Large Slate (super big cooked breakfast) and I most days had the Continental (meat, cheese, 1/2 baguette, croissant & pan chocolate - yes, three things - I kept the latter for later in the day - with a bit of foil from the owner each day to wrap it in!!). Great list of choices for breakfast. Also available to help yourself to is cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurts and bread (to toast yourself). Lovely fresh orange on offer too!! Would recommend this accommodation. We were lucky enough to have good weather - check out the beach at Beadnell (5 minute drive from B&B), carpark right beside beach, with toilet facilities, ice-cream van and beach hut (think they sold fish and chips!) Not many shops on the Main Street, but can recommend The Spice House (Indian restaurant) just at the top of the Main Street. There is a Co-op, which is handy, but not really much more. There are a couple of Indian restaurants, two Italian restaurants, Fish & Chips take away / restaurant (had nice cod & chips there)! There are a couple of pub type eating places. Hope this helps anyone looking for information before going!!
Cons: Everything was great, but from a personal point of view, a full length mirror in the room would be good!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb accommodation. Cleanliness very good. Breakfast exceptional. Proprietor helpful and attentive without being too intruding.
Cons: Nothing. Was an exceptional stay. Would recommend. When booking noted some comments about it being a long way out of Seahouses. We found it a 10 minute walk for ourselves.....people of average health, though do accept those with more limited walking capability could find it took longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean , The breakfast was one of the best.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room very comfortable. Nice Pillows. Need a longer mirror somewhere - but otherwise very nice. Bathroom good. Nice to have a bath as well as a shower.
Cons: Need a bigger sign outside - as not easy to find. The picture gives the impression of a stand alone house in the country somewhere - perhaps a hanging sign with a big arrow to the car parking area.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Not very well signed from the road, the name board was a bit too discreet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean and comfortable bedroom and shower room. Lovely décor throughout. Delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful host. Parking space. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing at all.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff from the start were very pleasant, really helpful and welcoming. Ian was great! Such a friendly member of staff, greeted us with a smile, showed us around and took us to the wedding venue down the road as we struggled to get a taxi. He even left late night snacks and large bottle of water outside our room for when we returned (it's the little things) The room and place was very tidy, nice and compact and couldn't fault it. The breakfast was lovely and lots of choice! We will definitley be back Thank you to everyone at The Apple
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I stayed for a few days with my 6 year old son and my Mam. The room was really spacious and perfect for travelling with family as my son had a comfy sofa bed round the corner and we could relax and watch TV in the other part of the room while he was sleeping. The room was done out beautifully and the beds were really comfortable. The area is lovely. We ate at the Apple Inn and the apple core over the road both of which were excellent. Breakfasts were also great with really good quality produce and lots of choice. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was the perfect base to explore Northumberland from.
Cons: Nothing, I loved it!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the size of bedroom and bathroom, a nice big bed. Food very good.
Cons: The fact that you had to ask for your room to be cleaned, not done automatically and when you are paying £100 per night I feel that this should be done without having to ask
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well appointed premises. Great food. Great beer.
Cons: 1. The inn did not have a dedicated place to store bikes. Somewhere secure and dry, to put bikes upon arrival, would be a great asset and improve the experience for guests traveling by bike 2. Plumbing noises occurred throughout the night. This may not bother some people, but my partner is a light sleeper and the noises kept her awake.

Pros: Location was excellent right next to shops and a few minutes from the harbour. Kirsty (host) was lovely, very friendly and cooked an amazing breakfast. Nice wee touch leaving biscuits and chocolate in the room next to tea facilities.
Cons: Hate this bit - but unfortunately the mattress on the bed in the front room needs replaced. We didn't get much sleep and our backs were sore in the morning. ( I already suffer from a bad back)

Pros: Kirsty was a lovely host. Our rooms were a nicely furnished, a good size and there were a number of nice touches with fresh flowers and chocolates. There was a great choice for breakfast and the portions really filled us up ready for the day ahead. The property was easy to find and centrally located within a few minutes walking to the main street. Shops were close by and access to the harbour was possible. This was a great find and highly recommended and all our party thought that The Horncliffe was an excellent Guest House and one that we would be happy to return to on another occasion.

Pros: Kirstie was very friendly, very informative about the area. Breakfast was very good, relaxed atmosphere, good choice of food. Kirstie was very relaxed about us coming, and going all day up to midnight. The bed was very comfortable too. My wife’s birthday fell during the week, and we put her cards up in the room. When we came back that day, a card and box of chocolates were left on the bed for her from all the staff. We both thought it was a lovely thing to do ,and was very much appreciated. Finally it was great value for money, and we hope to go again soon. ( Left with a feeling of “Serenity !!!! )
Cons: We didn’t have a shower, but it would have been better if there was a shower attachment for the taps. A second chair would have been nice, so it would have been more comfortable for two to watch tv in the evening.

Pros: The beds were really comfy. Towels were huge. Breakfast enormous. We will be back.

Pros: Overall we had a wonderful stay. The room was excellent with a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were exceptional as well. Our hosts were very friendly and keen to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spotless including the bathroom. Jeff and Jill were so friendly and helped us in booking places to eat both evenings. Breakfast was perfect with plenty of options. Easily located and in quiet area.
Cons: Not much could be done about this but the car park round the back is very 'tight' and if you were not confident in turning your car you would not wish to park here. Those with large vehicles would struggle. A suggestion would be to alert guests to this prior to their arrival so they could decide themselves if they wished to use this or street park once they see the parking area.

Pros: We had the nautical room, which was very comfortable and spacious with a lovely view to fields full of sheep and lambs. Everything was spotlessly clean and the fresh milk in the fridge on the landing a bonus. We slept like logs in the very comfortable bed and thoroughly enjoyed our home cooked breakfasts. There was no fuss about letting us have a key to come and go and lots of helpful advice and info from Jackie and Neil about local sights, and places to eat. On our last day Jackie kindly showed us their lovely self catering unit next door, which would be great for a longer stay. We thoroughly recommend.
