Very friendly and courtious staff
Out of town situation, close to wedding venue. Bar prices.
Large comfy bed and choice of pillows, plenty of free car parking Room was very warm and no aircon. Unable to open window more than a few inches. Breakfast rather dried up from being kept warm for a long time
Very clean hotel, good spa and pool, nice breakfast and very pleasant helpful staff Evening meal was absolutely dire - a "medium rare" steak was well done, waited 40mins for starter - bread and oil and what tasted like tinned soup. Vile frozen chips not fresh hand cut. Terrible coffee. Do not eat dinner here but otherwise good hotel
shower very poor no preasure. room 319
The staff were all very helpfull and polite. The bedroom was very small not quite what I expected for an executive room and very noisy being above the front of the hotel.
This is our 2nd time staying here and we have found it on both occasions very enjoyable because of friendly, efficient staff, good food, clean and comfortable rooms, nice gym and pool and an excellent location for our purposes. not a complaint but an observation. Irish bars have a better variety of soft drinks for those that don't or can't drink alcohol i.e red lemonade, cidona and very popular in Ireland, lucozade.
loved everything the breakfast was fantastic bed was comfortable more than 1 pillow
The bar area was very friendly and inviting The heating wasn't turned on in our room - it was very cold on arrival. However your staff were very quick to rectify the problem. Perhaps something that should have been checked before we arrived.
Location - it was close to where we were visiting Not great value for money.
It's an old hotel which has been very well modernised without spoiling its character. No problems at all.
Friendly staff Slow to check out. Needed more staff on at this peak time. Very noisy outside on sat night
Always clean, staff always friendly. None
helpfulness of staff, cleanliness and location no lift (elevator)
Good location and comfortable room
city center location
Excellent restaurant Heating a little too high
even with thermostat turned off;the room was very warm all night.
Room was too hot
great location and a great staff.
visit the area
Quietness. Size of room. Climb up stairs.
Friendly and helpful staff Poor security - Front door unlocked all night. Room windows if left open have easy access from ground level rear car park. Yale lock missing from room door. Fire doors illegally wedged open overnight.
Access to town centre
Cobwebs in shower, shower loose on wall
cant think of one single thing, alround good early in the morning theres a noise not sure what it was sounded like the water heating up, this was about 4am it was their for the rest of the night, breakfast was not included in the price.
Nothing It was dirty, rooms had been smoked in, all the linen smelt of smoke,we had to change rooms, but only alittle better. Would not use or recommend this hotel to anyone, terrible. Would like a full refund if possible.
We really liked the stay, very excellent service and location,Thank you. The bathroom was not the best but very good beds. If going to Peterboruogh again we are coming back. Olav and Aase Njaa
Location is ideal for walking into Peterborough and very close to Golf Club Plastic table cloths in the dining room
the receptionist was helpful The family room was outside.
Nothing in particular. Everything was very average. The shower in my room was virtually stone cold and had very little water pressure. I drew this to the owners attention when paying and did not even receive an apology, let alone a slight reduction in price by way of compensation.
It was quite Booking in we arrived at 14.05pm told that our room was still occupied but they would go and tell them to vacate the room then they would have to clean the room !we had to go into the town to waste some time cost us petrol & time we rang them at 16.00 and they said our room was now ready they had rang me on the wednesday to ask what time we would be arriving I told them 14.00.it states you have to be out of your room by 10.00am and can book in from 14.00 till23.00?
Price, convenience. Infrastructure starting to age.
Very good valuefor money and the reception staff were very helpful The hotel sign was at high level and I drove past it at first
close to the dog track, no other reason, woul;d use again for same reason have a good night at the dogs loads of wine then who cares staff none, only at check in number on front desk to call for service, design like eastern block 80's style but ok mfor the cause
Plenty of parking .easy to find. friendly staff member
friendly helpful staff. en suite bathroom good size for budget accommodation although shower cubicle too small not bad enough to make formal complaint but: matresses lumpy nd shower cubicle too small to move I hit my head on wall
Quiet & clean No toilet or shower in room which was not obvious when I booked
convenience as a stopover on a long trip
The price. Nowhere comfortable to sit in the room.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
An excellent hotel
The hotel is very well situated near the river Nene beautiful location food was first class would recommemd and we will return without hesitation.te room are spotless and just a few yards form main Pup area local beers are to die for,all in all this is a very good place to stay for a short break and if i will give it 10 out of 10 .
The food is superb especially given the price. Also great local beers.
Excellent rooms, very nice original beamed, bar & restaurant area. Hotel has good parking, garden going down to the river and set in a lovely village. Ideal for a weekend break. A little sparse on staff - had to find receptionist to check in and again to check out.
The Owner & Staff personally made us most welcome & were helpful in providing information about local Events & Places of interest. We will certainly make another visit. M.P. Harding.
Good food, good rooms, nice village
The restaurant meal was excellent as was the service. Every mouthful was to be savoured. Pleasant relaxing environment. Disappointing that the restaurtant was not open on Sunday evening and we could not make the Sunday lunch srving times.
Lovely surroundings, good food, helpful staff. In good proximity for Stamford. Clean comfortable rooms. Nowhere to sit when wedding party in bar.
Fantastic Food. Good size rooms. Modern clean layouth. One member of staff a little abrupt on arrival. Other staff tried very hard.
The location beside the river gave a very pleasant place to relax in the sun. Unfortunately flies in the restaurant made eating a bit uncomfortable. We mentioned this and are advised that it has been addressed by spraying.
Room 138 to warm (the only means of cooling was a desk top fan),service in restaurant still too slow, waiting for service and between courses.I Booked an extra night and was quoted 49 pounds initially then 52 pounds, apparently it changes dependent on number of people staying. On the third (Extra) night the door key did not activate the lock,I had to walk a considerable distance back to reception to get it enabled.I Was unable to get breakfast on Saturday or Sunday as the time written on my paperwork was 6.00am to 9.00am,although on the weekend breakfast starts at 8.00am,I needed to be elsewhere at 8.00am I would have stayed somewhere else if this had been pointed out to me.
This hotel was excellent value for money. The guarantee of satisfaction given at check in was much appreciated, although not needed!
the staff and service were fantastic and nothing too much trouble the food in the reastaurant was poor
Shower in room not very powerful when hot dial was turned but was adequate.
very nice all round stay.
Nice selection of menu the red snapper is recommended, desert menu very tempting but abstained on this occassion
The decor in the bar and restaurant was good with a relaxing atmosphere. Despite a problem with my booking (ie they could not find it initially) the staff were helpful. Restaurant staff also very friendly. My colleagueas had to wait for over one hour for food despiet the low numbers in the retaurant. Very disappointing.
friendly staff - comfortable room.
Friendly helpful staff
The breakfast is very value for money. The rooms were very clean and spacious and I liked the idea of having a separate bar to go and have a drink in
Staff friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable. We were offered a change of room but declined as we had a lot of luggage and two dogs we would have to relocate. Toilet used and unflushed. Basin dirty. No sugar and tea bags with hospitality tray. Epos machine would not accept cards and after 4 attempts had to do it manually and there was no spare machine available
The rooms are excellent value for money. Well designed rooms are very comfortable. Staff were most friendly and helpful. No complaints!
Good shower, I like the big squeezy bottles of shower gel and soap (greener than individual soaps that get binned after one night), quiet given the location. Excellent for a budget hotel to provide a hairdryer in room and hot chocolate on the hospitality tray. No bar on site (or anywhere to buy even a bottle of beer to enjoy in the room) and only junk food dining (we don't regard a choice between kfc, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and the usual motorway services rubbish as much of a choice). Great that there was an m&s on site but that's no good for a hot dinner.
Daysinn Peterborough was easily accessible from major roads and handy for town shopping centre. Pleasant stay
Basic good value for money. Ac in room. Excellent shower. Comfortable bed. Helpful front desk staff. None
Nicely appointed rooms and very quiet. No soap in the shower dispencer, the towels are too small ( hand towels only), one light not working over the desk area.
A well cleaned room with adequate facilities. very convenient for East of England show ground air co/ heating not working properly. Shower, although thermostatic, was inclined to variable temperatures
It has all the necessitities in the room and it is always quiet N/A
Reliability, in a word. You know what to expect and it is delivered.
easy to find pleasent loacation good views over rowing course Thw WiFi was too weak in the room to allow connection of my laptop
A no hassle experience
The hotel was of a high standard in all departments The cost was high however the standards were high so maybe I am being picky.
The riverside walk into city centre.
Relaxed Atmosphere Untidy and scruffy appearance, external litter and daad weeds in the planters on the veranda
It was well located for my business needs. Staff very attentive.
location and comfort hairdryer in room did not work
The hotel staff were very sorry and couldnt have been more helpful offering us a reduction after a complaint about our room. Main areas (bar, lobby, lounging areas) of hotel were of a good standard, view of lake great. We had a very poor stay. Dirty room, hairs in bath, blood on bathroom floor, stains on the 'clean' towels, very old sagging uncomfortable bed.
Good location My room and the general reception areas are in need of an update
It is very convenient, being 2 minutes walk away from the cathedral and the shops There were no bathroom facilities in the room, not even a washbasin.
The beds were comfortable, the shower efficient and it was in a very good location (200 metres fron cathedral) No breakfast (although on b&b guides), no shower gel, minimal tea and coffee facilities
Room had lots of character... lovely beams English lacking from staff
central location. comfortable bed and warm room. could only access one channel on the tv. ensuite bathroom very cramped.quite expensive in comparison to other hotels stayed in.
Roomy, central, Saw no staff in the hotel! Person at restaurant showed us in, but we were unsure that this was a member of staff. Front door regularly left open, and felt vulnerable as hall was unattended and gave access to rooms so anyone from the street could enter unhindered.
It was a lovely room in a wonderful building. Very clean and full of character. No toilet paper, major problem. I had to go to the Lamb to use their toilet on Sunday morning.
Tea/coffee making facilities provided. The place was clean. Staff were friendly. No breakfast included. Room was cold. Check in was at the restaurant underneath the guest house. Sunday morning no staff were available to ask for information.
This is not a hotel. It is beds, with no breakfast, right in the very centre of the beautiful Cathedral City of Ely, in Cambridgeshire. My niece's wedding was in St Mary's Church, and the Ely Guest House is on St Mary's Street, and also a stone's throw from The Lamb Hotel, where the reception took place. I had breakfast at this hotel!! I could not have chosen a handier place, given that I travelled by train, and therefore was on foot. Also, quite unplanned by me, my single room was changed for a double - plenty of room for my long legs!! This Is not a complaint. a small building in the centre fo an ancient Cathedral City, is itself going to be ancient. The Ely Guest House seemed to be of half-timber construction, with little narrow stairs. I am now older, and found this not very easy....
It advertised itself as B&B, but does not provide breakfast!
There is no breakfast but readily available on high street.
A very good place to hold a wedding and located in a nice area
fantastic surrounding, very comfortable room and atmosphere no
Staff were very helpful, the room was excellent and the overall expeirence was very enjoyable
location is great. Restaurant is good and staff are excellent
the food was very good the bed was very uncomfortable
The Hotel was very clean and tidy, easy to find, and the staff were very friendly Some local information about restaurants, country pubs etc would have been very helpfull.
the staff, helpful and polite the room was a little dated/tired looking
A very friendly well run by a charming family No
Room very small. Room was basic.
The receptionist was very pleasant and friendly and the hotel is within a reasonable walking distance of the city centre. It is comfortable and welcoming and a nice breakfast is included.I would certainly stay ther again
Staff were very helpful even if the rooms were very basic. The final room was just fine even if the taps were a little difficult. Breakfast was reasonable service good. Rooms 10 and 11 were too close to the pumps and therefore noisy. Room 27 was on top of the stairs and was subject to people clumping up and down, plus door opening and closing. Not good. Room 16 was good but took a long time to sort out but staff were very helpful.
B&B 22August Room good; had to leave before breakfast; sandwiches instead good. 31 August Room 19.Musty smell;faulty razor light;very noisy extractor fan;rubber shower attachment unusable;TVnear the ceilng not watchable.Suggest room19 needs a complete revamp See above
It was close to a bus stop.
Comfortable, clean, warm room. Good breakfast. Well lit secure car park. None
Clean, easily accessible Confusion and excessive charge regarding two small dogs staying in our room. We selected hotels for "animal friendly", but were charged an unannounced gbp 75 for "deep cleaning charges".
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Room service was overpriced. For an executive double it did not include breakfast and did not have a mini bar. Most other hotels offer these things for an executive rate.
lovely room, good leisure club facilities Hard to find reception staff-alwayas behind closed doors, and not visible to find.
The service was good and the breakfast was substantial.
enjoyable spa, many choice of breakfast, room looked modern and clear, half hour get to the city of cambridge. no enough milk for making tea and coffee in the room
The cleaniness and comfort was most impressive. The room standard was extremely high and the food was acceptable if not outstanding. The location was difficult to find. The hotel was definately not in Huntingdon and there were few if any signposts.
Staff were extremely helpful even tho' they were very busy - they were very pleasant and anticipated our needs. None
Nice room which was very comfortable. Good breakfast with plenty of choice of different foods. Easy access to gym and swimming pool. The breakfast room/ restaurant lacks atmosphere in evening, ie does not feel like a restaurant. We stayed on first floor close to conference room - this was noisy due to presence of wedding party.
The quality of everything used in building was particularly good, eg the doors were soundproof , width of corridors, lighting, air con, quality of bedding, in fact it was all faultless and I have rarely stayed in a better hotel at any price. It was all faultless
Proximity to road networks etc. Comfortable environment to relax in. Very good service. Nil
The room was noisy.
Convenience and comfort There was no phone in my room so when I had an accident late at night I had to get dressed and go to find help. This would have been an issue if I had injured myself.
Strong smell of Urine from Toilet
No phone in room, no public phone in the lobby, public transportation not close enough
Friendly staff, Value for money We were hoping to have bigger tv and dvd in the room
walk into ferry meadows country park or take a short taxi ride into peterborough
Hotel was of a good clean standard but the television was a box and a new flat screen would have been nice. The Hotel was using to the Beefeater next door for breakfast and evening meals. The service was a bit brisk and too eager to please which sounds good but when they are removing empty wine glasses, tea cups, and side plates from your table before you have finished your meal, you feel as if they want you out so they can re-lay the table for the next customer.
The room was spacious, clean, and the staff were very kind, helpful and professional Not enough room facilities ie. ironing equipment, bathing soap,
very polite friendly staff nice clean rooms good breakfast.
the room was so comfortable and i liked the atmosfer of the hotel that made me feel like being at home . the manager was so kind to me and helped me enjoy my trip, i love that place!
Location + carpark
The price was very reasonable and as we were staying for a Funeral it suited our purpose. The welcome and service were excellent and staff very friendly.
Value for the monmey
This hotel was very friendly and comfortable.
Friendly staff Room service quick and food hot Could not stand up in bath for a shower because of sloping ceiling
Everything, by far the best hotel I have stayed at in Peterborough
Comfy lounge areas adjoining Inn tables dirty/sticky. reception staff customer friendly toyour face but spoke behind people's backs to each other.
I was very impressed by the hotel -one of the best Best Western hotels I have stayed at
Setting and service
Everything that applied to me was great..wished I had taken the swim suit ..will remember next time hope to return a minor thing..but it is keeping with the locus..the car park surface was woodland so a disaster to keep your footwear clean or avoid sinking when damp/wet as you walk over it
Very good clean spa and room great value for money
Being able to relax in the health spa with the kids was enjoyable and fun for all.
My colleague's wedding! The fact that there was not a proper shower in the bathroom as there was not enough head height above the bath
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent
This is a terrible place. The service was disgraceful. The man in charge was rude, arrogant and only interested in taking money. After our terrible experience here I would recommend this place to be shut down. I would tell anyone and everyone to steer well clear. It is very over priced and the staff are useless - we couldn't even get directions to the hotel from the so called reception.
Had to rearrange accomodation when Ely had no water supply. Thankfully was able to get a room at the Nyton. Room was cold. Sink was in the bedroom. Room was above bar, so quite noisy.
Very nice room, but bath very small. Good location for discovering Ely. Breakfast service was slow (one poor school age girl on her own). Dinner was poor, web site advertises a lively new chef, his food was neither.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. We had dinner at the hotel which was good as was the selection for breakfast. For visiting Ely the location is excellent very easy walking distance. The hotel is certainly not AA**** as stated. The general appearance is looking tired and dated the pictures on the web site do not reflect the current state of the hotel. We booked a double bedded room and ended up with a twin but the staff could not really explain why especially as they had only a few guests staying. This hotel could be really good it's location and the quality of the food offered is good, however, the service especially from the owner/manager was a little 'Faulty Towers' on occasion. I would reccommend it to friends but with the proviso that you 'take it as you find it' - interesting!.
Location. Faded elegance, which some would find charming.
Excellent Dinner & Breakfast Room clean and tidy but a little dated
Location and service The room was very hot. We shut down the radiator but failed to note that an electric heater was on at full blast. When sleep became impossible during the night, we realised what was happening, and turned off the heater. It then took 40 minuteas for the room to cool.
Accessibility A bit of Fawlty Towers about the hotel
Pleasant, clean rooms. Could have been more choice at breakfast
polite staff, clean comfortable room well modernised, good breakfast long walk to town centre
Everything was very clean and pleasant. Beds were very comfortable and staff very friendly
Location and staff
Room was clean and nicely decorated and bed was comfy with a firm mattress. Everything worked in the en suite.. Excellent English breakfast. The South Africa owners were very hospitable. Wi Fi was not working.
Friendly staff who made every effort to ensure we were satisfied with the service. Excellent breakfast. Easy walk to city centre.
The breakfasts were excellent and good value for money. The WiFi coverage wasnt good in my room.
The staff were really good, very helpfull. Also the standard of the food was excellent. would definitely stay again.
