Pros: Tasty and filling breakfast w/ home-made jams, tartes, and pastries; cereals, juices, ham and cheeses. Also, loved the beauty of the location, friendliness of the owner, quietness and comfort of the cottages w/ plenty of inside comforts. Fit our family of 5 easily.
Cons: can't think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! Hospitality and care should receive a 10+ mark: anything from tips on sightseeing, keeping everything clean and tidy, to the nice touch of cold beverages waiting on our arrival. We used the place as base for sightseeing the region, enjoying the return to a quiet stroll on the riverside paths, with an occasional barbecue for dinner. The flat itself was beautifully designed with hotel-grade amenities - a unique pleasure.

Pros: So far the best place I have stayed in France
Cons: All was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this beautifully restored 12th century Château in this tiny town. A luxurious breakfast with good coffee put us on our way the next morning. Would have enjoyed more time there. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: With the rustic charm of a gothic castle and the luxury of a modern hotel at affordable family prices - this hotel was a rare find and definitely a highlight of our trip to France. It even had a lift for our luggage.
Cons: There is not much to do in the small town of Sainte-Julie so a car is helpful to visit the surrounding villages and the Pérouges.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner and the staff were wonderfully nice and helpful, the place etremely beautiful, the breakfast delicious ... We had an amazing stay!
Cons: Can't think of anything except restaurants/bars being a bit far from the location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored fortified house, feels like a castle. Close by a number of caves and the mediaeval town of Perouges.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fantastic find. It was such a surprise to see this renovated gem. I would go out of my way to stay there again. All the people there were so helpful.
Cons: It was perfect. There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the manor or ,"small castle" that is being repaired to its old glory. The Small town setting was just perfect
7.1 Good
Pros: Spacious room, comfortable bed, lovely bed-linen, views of countryside from the window.
Cons: Toilet door was difficult to close and noisy, disturbing sleep in the night. Buzz of the air conditioner also interfered with a good night's sleep. Luckily we had ear plugs. We booked late and chose the cheapest option, so perhaps just unlucky with the room. Disappointed that there were no common indoor spaces to appreciate the ambience of the castle/ chateau.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming building Good breakfast Quality bath towels
Cons: The bathroom facilities are not very private Be warned the heated towel rail is very efficient which is great for drying towels but because the bathroom room is open to the bedroom the room over heated!

Pros: Hosts were exceptional. Picked me up very late at the airport, graciously welcomed me and provided a gluten-free breakfast before taking me back to the airport in the morning. I can't say enough about them! Would love to come back. Very unique property.
Cons: nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful friendly reception. Well equipped. Early breakfast. Good cold supper Convenient for airport.
Cons: Hadn’t appreciated lowness of beams in attic bedroom. Height of short corridor leading to it ( well less than head height; crouching necessary) narrowness / steepness of spiral staircase . Bathroom located floor below. Probably my fault for insufficient attention to details of the property before booking . But posing significant difficulty for someone with an arthritic hip / balance issues. Quirky and interesting for the younger able-bodied......but I survived!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property. Pleasant, accommodating hostess. Delicious breakfast, coffee, juice etc. Comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again. A+++

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Like out of a photo album, this farm is picture-perfect. The tools used on a farm are highlighted around the property. The breakfast was ample and offered some of the most unique and delicious jams! (So glad to bring some home). The room was spacious and the beds comfortable.
Cons: The farm is a ways out in the country but the views make up for the tricky navigation to and from the main roads.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The owner was nice and friendly. He was not at home when we arrived (we were welcome by her daughter), otherwise we would have tried some good homemade food, but that's not a problem at all: we went to a near restaurant instead and it was really good. The room had a great view over the farmyard, that was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and the room clean and cozy for an excellent price. Super!!!
Cons: Nothing!

All rooms have a private terrace with outdoor furniture and views of the park. The breakfast, partially homemade features salty and sweet products. Guests also have access to the garden and children’s games can be borrowed. The A43 motorway is 5 km from Du Goût et des Couleurs. Lyon is 37 km away. Free private parking is available.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is about 10 minutes from Lyon Airport and is the best airport hotel I have ever stayed in. It's like a little French chateau in large grounds surrounded by walls/fences for privacy. It was very quiet. Grenay is a small village and there are a couple of restaurants close by. It would also be a good base to explore the countryside south of Lyon.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to Lyon Airport but in a quiet village away from the flight paths. The hotel looks and feels like a French Chateau. Continental breakfast is included.
Cons: There's nowhere in the village for dinner on a Monday night and we were without a car until our friends met us the next morning.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful period property and yet all mod cons too. Wonderful sitting/diningroom - a memorable place for a delightful and delicious breakfast. If back in the area, it will be top of our list!
Cons: At first seemed a wee bit difficult to get in (door codes etc) but it wasn't really a problem
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice decor, friendly staff
Cons: Long drive across town to reach this place unless you pay for multiple toll roads. We were the only people staying in an empty house (end of Sep/early Oct) yet were made to sleep in the attic room up some really steep stairs, which was very stuffy unless air con left on all night. When I asked for a ground floor room (as we had large bags to pack for our flight out next morning and the room we had booked did not specify 2nd floor location), we were offered the ground floor room only if we paid 22€ more, but at 89€ it was already one of our most expensive stays and the breakfast was the least generous of our 14 days in France. No crispy baguette or croissants, just homemade bread from a breadmaker like we have at home and some tiny triangles of tired looking cheese. Fresh fruit and juice good but yoghurt with apple puree very sweet (like baby food) and homemade biscuits soft from being left out too long. Nothing open in village when we arrived after a long drive at 7:30 pm (Monday!) so had to eat one of the “gourmet” meals offered by the B&B for reheating, but the 13€ carrot soup was bland and tasteless and there was no salt and pepper anywhere in the dining room to add to it. Didn’t want to have to go back to the owner’s house next door to ask for some s & p after already needing her help to reheat the meal, so had to eat it as it was. Probably very healthy and looked great, but tasted like baby food! A disappointing end to 14 days of otherwise excellent B&Bs. Host very friendly but inflexible about room allocation. Failure to disclose true location of room was the worst aspect and the reason for the low value-for-money score. Garden looked good. Might be a nice place for travellers with children, but can only comment on our experience and in comparison to what we experienced elsewhere. Host should be more honest about what room is offered at what price!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Within reasonable distance from airport for both arrival and departure. Quiet location with character and helpful people. Would choose again when flying in/out of Lyon.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: Municipal address would not show up on car GPS. Their site asks clients to enter geographical co-ordinates to find their building.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All ok, nice services to access on the house, room clean and tidy. The owners very kind and breakfast very nice.
Cons: Nothing to say
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Interesting historic building with friendly staff.
Villa La Maternité - Meximieux - Pool
7
9.0 Excellent (91 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Villieu-Loyes-Mollon, Villa La Maternité is on a river, within a 15-minute drive of Medieval City of Perugia and Railroad Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Villa is in a quiet rural village with a nice view from our room window. Very nice owner, friendly and communicative. The best beds ever - very comfortable, large and comfortable. The pool with heated water is a big plus and nice relaxation after long road. Breakfast also very good: orange juice is very tasty... and the owner even both for our little girl small croissants. The price is also very good for all comfort what you get.
Cons: Check in time is from 18.30, but it wasn’t a problem for us, we came 1,5 hours earlier and had time to see Perouges before our dinner and second time after our dinner. If you are traveling not for work, it’s nice to have time to enjoy your holiday and sleep longer in the morning. But check out is till 10.00
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, calm location
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This villa offers exactly what is presented in the photos. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the garden was very beautiful with its pool and seating area. There are plenty of parking right at the villa.
Cons: The location of the villa is a bit too far out on the countryside, but if that is your preference this is perfect. The villa is also a private property, meaning you don't have access to kitchenware when using the backyard. Even though the breakfast was enough, there are still some room for improvement.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is very well renovated town home. The owners are great and obviously, quite deservedly, proud of their house. It’s in a very quiet setting. The rooms are superbly done to a very high but welcoming standard you could not ask for more. Oh, the rooms are also very large. The bed is fantastic. So is the shower. A quick tip - if you miss the note on the reservation check-in is from 6:30. The gate will probably be locked but there is a buzzer. You will get a great welcome.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guest house is beautiful, swimming pool is a big plus, breakfast was plentiful . Local people are warm and friendly. It is a few kilometers off the main road but well worth it.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful, well kept property. Comfy beds and lovely linen. Nice fresh French bread for breakfast. We appreciated the help with our suitcases thank you.
Cons: Too late check in and too many rules about when you could use the pool because of family. Didn't feel that welcome around pool area felt more like an imposition. No pool towels provided. They had visitors themselves so didn't like to intrude while they were all in the pool. Rooms up the top of the house with no air conditioning only fan so very hot, but would be nice in winter. Needs to have a sign on property where to go.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful premises, modern and clean decor, thick good quality towels, quiet street, spacious room, fresh and generous continental breakfast , attentive hostess, swimming pool (you need your own towels)
Cons: The fact that you can arrive only at lunchtime or after six pm. No toiletries, luckily we had some of our own, three flight of stairs and very noisy ones
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service, lovely staff and homely feel. Breakfast was excellent, and the bonus was that we had the lovely offer of a lift to the Fair we were going to by a family member of the owner!
Cons: The only thing to make it a 100% wonderful stay- some shower products!

Pros: It was so convenient to go to the airport for an early flight. And the room was beautiful and all clean.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good selection of food in nice surroundings and great location being so near to the terminal.
Cons: Extractor in the toilet
7.5 Good
Pros: Handy location next to the airport
Cons: No iron in the room. Why do most hotels in Europe ignore travellers basic needs (to iron a shirt)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Location at Lyon Airport with TGV is excellent. Service is good, but expensive!
Cons: Price! Convenience costs some coins extra!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were on the 7th floor in a pretty large sized bedroom with a huge bed and a comfy sofa right beside the room's large window. The hotel is right beside the iconic structure of Gare de Lyon Train Station.
Cons: Just an observation, if you arrive in the evening you might not be able to have other options where to eat but at the hotel's restaurant. The airport area is obviously secluded and people who will be staying in this hotel will only rely on the hotel food or the airport's limited number of restaurants if you still want to walk around or explore the areas nearby before 10:00 in the evening.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: 5 min walk to the terminal for a very early flight. No wash cloth

Cons: Although very nice, the room got very hot at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Design and hospitality
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hostess was sick with a cold. I anticipate this was the reason she was so rude to us. Her husband was very kind and respectful. Our stay was based on her ecological rules. (no bars of soap allowed) her rules! We felt like she was doing us a favor to let her stay in her house. Her house was very beautiful and clean, but her people skills need much improvement. We felt very uncomfortable during our stay. Her son lives in the house on the top floor. He was playing loud hiphop music and pacing back and forth for an hour. His room was above us and made it difficult to rest.
Cons: The hostess should treat her B&B guests with more respect and appreciation. It was very exspensive stay. 385.00 per night. The most exspensive room in the area. It was very overpriced for the poor service we received. We felt the season was winding down and the attention to detail was just an afterthought. Perfect example, The TV and cable box was dissconected and thrown into the closet. I would not recomend staying in this B&B In October. As for as the other months I do not know.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Amazing location! Beautiful house and terrace
Cons: The host was not happy to received us, according to her it was a misunderstanding with booking and she was supposed to be closed! Not warm welcome at all! It was Far too expensive, not value for money. We have been offer another room since one of the room we had book was too warm, she did not mentioned that the room was 75€ more expensive! The 285€ Napoleon suite, was very nice decorated but a lot of basic details were missing such as bathroom amenities, coffee machine, tv... No air co in the room so we open the window and surprise, even being in Perouges old cité, a lot of outside noise due to the train railway next to the house ( not mentioned in any moment) On top of that, we have been asked to take the breakfast at 9:30 since before it was too early for her. The breakfast was only sweet, no salty options, no juices either. For the price of the stay is quite disappointing! She was not friendly ( very different from her husband who was nice ) We could only have a bit of interest from her part when she gave us the “no value for money” invoice and we were about to leave. Very disappointing host house!
