Cons: The Alamo group of rental companies charges $11 per day to permit a spouse to drive the vehicle. Other rental groups allow spouses to drive at no extra charge. This is enough of a reason to avoid using Alamo.

Pros: Rented an economy car but they were out and got upgraded to a full size car at the same price as economy.
Car only at 3000 miles on it so it was clean as could be and easy on the gas consumption.

Great car at a reasonable price
Pros: The time from arrival at the counter to driving away couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. I was given a choice of two cars, both quite nice. The car was clean and obviously well maintained; it drove well.
Cons: Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Walk around car WITH Employee before renting.
Pros: Overall, it was fine.
Cons: I highly recommend an Alamo employee walks around the car WITH the customer to check out the car for previous dents, scratches, etc. before AND after renting out the car instead of just after. We don't rent cars often, dont live in a hail-prone zone and we checked all outside and inside the car, but didn't think to check the roof. It hadn't hailed the entire time we were in the area, but sure enough, there were hail dents on the roof from a previous rental and we almost got charged for it.
Credit check declined my card and the lady refused to run it again after waiting an hour trying 3 different cards we left and went to national and had it taken care of in less than 5 mins. I will never use budget again.

Pros: Couldn't fine the rate in their computer. Long delay in correction the fate. Charged me for insurance when I specifically declined. Went to clerk when I returned the car and she agreed that I had not a masked for insurance but was unable to do anything about it and suggested I call customer service when I returned to LA. Situation still not resolved

Pros: The car was a 2015 Ford Fusion with many extras! Very pleased! Friendly service. East return as well. Liked not having to return to airport. The Budget facility was 1 mile from my house.
Cons: Check-in was a disaster. Agent failed to notify me that she was switching me from an intermediate car to a pickup truck. Went all the way into the parking lot to discover the change. Upon return to the counter, she said it was an "upgrade"! Unbelievable. She said no one had ever complained about being "upgraded" from a car to a pickup truck. No answer for why she didn't tell me at check-in. Central car rental facility is a hike from the terminal.

Cons: The vehicle insurance policy purchased by us online thru Kayak was not accepted by Payless the service provider. Payless wanted us to purchase a separate insurance policy which cost us another USD 30++..

Cons: When we arrived at the rental counter there were 10 people in line who had already been waiting an hour. In the time we were in line nobody actually got a car. There was only 1 person working the counter. We ended up renting a car from Hertz at the next counter. Lucky for us they decided to rent to walk ups though it cost twice as much. We only had a short time in New Orleans. It was almost ruined because of Payless

Did not have the vehicle I reserved.
Pros: Easy drop off for return.
Cons: I was supposed to have a Ford Explorer and was given a Mazda CX5 that I had to clean the windshield in before I could drive it and the outside of the vehicle was dirty too. I f I knew I was getting an import, I could have went to enterprise and been cheaper. Will not rent form them again.

Cons: The rep tried to sell me an upgrade which was totally acceptable. But she got into an argument with my boyfriend about the insurance (on an item with which she was incorrect) - totally unacceptable

Cons: THE WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!
The rep argued with me about car I reserved, even after I showed confirmation email. He said I reserved a Ford Edge (class). My confirmation showed. Ford Explorer (class). Then he proceeded to say he would have to get approval from a manager to give the class car I reserved. He laughed as I walked to the Hertz counter and rented from them instead.
I'm sure this is just a scam of a company.

Nobody even at the counter!
Cons: I reserved a car online for November 21st-November 28th back in September. We went to the counter for Payless, an hour and a half before close, and NO ONE WAS AT THE COUNTER! Please keep in mind that I knew my flight didn't land until 10PM. We waited for 45 minutes before having to resort to another car rental agency. Thank God I didn't pay ahead of time! Will NEVER go through Payless again!

Won't rent from them again
Pros: We wanted an economy because we didn't have baggage and wanted an easy car to park.
Cons: 1. Huge blind spot with this car.
2. Agent at check in seemed "put out" because we declined all additional coverage.
3. Had to visit counter to return the car.
4. Incorrectly charged for "roadside service protection". See #2.
Glad I asked for a printed receipt instead of an emailed receipt. Otherwise might not have caught the incorrect charge.

I forgot to bring my AARP CARD and your customer service guy would not help me ,i though he would. Disappointed by being charged more than advertised
Pros: The car was basic and reasonably clean (albeit a bit beat up for a practically new car)
Cons: When I arrived at Dollar, they quoted me a price twice what was reflected on Kayak. Even after declining all of their optional coverage and services, the rate was still 20% more than what I booked it at. The Dollar staff blamed Kayak, but they were not particularly friendly or helpful, making me think the issue is on them. I've never had a similar issue with another company.

Pros: No problems with the car itself.
Cons: When we declined additional insurance, they snuck it in anyways. If we hadn't caught it before we pulled out of the lot, they wouldn't have reversed it. The woman who fixed it for us even said how shady they are and that they try that frequently.

So so rental.
Pros: The rental car agent when I picked up my car was less than helpful, never smiled, spoke monotonously, and was more interested in his cell phone than helping me. The car was a nice car, easy ride, and perfect for New Orleans so you didn't feel out powered by the larger cars on the road. The engine light did come on during my rental.
When I dropped the car off, the employees were far more helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. There was an attempted burglary on the rental car so they knew what paperwork I'd need to fill out and what the process would be like.
I'll probably go with a different company next time, just to know you'll get some friendliness on all ends.

Trick you into purchasing insurance
Cons: We reserved through them online because they we the cheapest. We got there and they tricked us into purchasing an insurance package even though we did not need it, but they made it seem mandatory.

the car was not worth the money
Pros: The car was clean and the personnel I met were courteous.
Cons: for the money, the car was not worth it. It had manual windows and manual mirrors. You could not adjust the steering wheel or the seat properly. For what I paid for the car it should have had more than base equipment.

Cons: I was in town for funeral, felt agent took advantage of us. My daughter dropped off car and when I got bill I was charged for things I did not sign up for like road side assistance, I was over charged 100.00. I will to use dollar rental ever again.
