Cons: i showed up with my printed out confirmed , reserved reservation for a car for 8 day rental and got to office, no cars... after 2 hrs of calls and saying I'm not leaving without a car.. hertz send me to their repair center and they gave me one. ran fine, just had no shocks left so handled very poorly.. then, they tried to charge me more since they had no cars for me under my reserved contract... horrible customer service my local office manager also... she was sick from eating some food she liked by had allergic reactions to, but kept eating it?????
i'll avoid hertz at all costs..!! joe austin tx.

Pros: The next day they did help, by picking us up at the hotel, getting us our car and on our way. Just wish they would have called when we weren't there exactly at 6 so we wouldn't have had to waste a night of our vacation. Lesson learned don't rely on just internet for booking. Always call and talk to real people!
Cons: I had put a pick up time of 6 PM but arrived at 6:12 having taken an airport shuttle to the wrong Hertz location first. Sadly they closed at 6, (not sure why they allowed a pick up time at the exact time they would be closing?) so we were not able to get our car. After trying to find some sort of solution ended up having to stay a night in a hotel in Albuquerque until the next morning.

Pros: Easy drop off.
Cons: Pick up location was not where we had thought when making the reservation. As a result our reservation price was not honored and I had to start again. It ended up costing over 100% more. There was only one employee at the counter when we arrived, with 4 people in line. As a result the whole transaction took about an hour. I was given an "upgrade" to a Ford Fiesta. Wow! Insurance seemed a bit exorbitant.

Pros: Clean new car. Great cruise control for adjusting driving speeds. Good aircon. Quiet ride on the highway...smooth transmission with a compression setting appropriate for descending down the mountain without having to ride the brakes.
Cons: No briefing from rental agent regarding the remote, keyless starting feature of the Mazda 3. I had never seen one before. Had to ask because couldn't figure out how to start the car.
The remote can be affected by near by radio tower radiations. I had to try a couple of dozen times from different positions around the car to lock the doors with the remote when parked at the top of Sandia mountain near Albuquerque. The radio towers at the top of the mountain can disrupt the signal from the remote. Finally got it locked, but discovered that there was a hidden key inside the remote. So was able unlock it at the one key hole (drivers side only). Fortunately the car started with no problem.

Happy with car but not with Hertz
Pros: When car was picked up the young man that took care of my rental
was new and he tried hard to do things as he was told by the woman
Cons: Brought car back 1 day early and was told I wouldn't get a pro-rated
refund due to it being a weekly rental.
I didn't like the high pressure that was put on me to take
their insurance after I had my insurance applied to the car while I was
driving it, this was done by the woman.
Cons: I flew into Albuquerque Avis said my rental was at a location 30 minutes away and I had to rent a vehicle for 3x the original rental rate. They had me hostage I had no choice, my reservation was in the system and nothing was attempted to help other that take advantage of the situation.

Cons: Office was unattended during normal posted hours. No drop off envelopes in box. Charged extra 15$ for fuel/service for no reason.

Cons: My assumption was that the Enterprise office was at the airport. This was wrong. My plane arrived at 7PM. This rental was placed at a downtown office that closed at 6PM. I had to rent from the Enterprise at the airport. They didn't have an intermediate car so I paid $184 instead of the $107 quoted. Kayak did not share everything I needed to know. Disappointing.
