Cons: Car broke down 2 hours from home, was told the replacement would have to come from where I go the original even though there was a location the town I was in. Finally convinced them to send one from the local place and still waited an hour. Waited 4-5 hours total broken down which caused me to have to get a hotel because I was so behind.. Got the new car and on the way back, got a ticket for EXPIRED TAGS. No one seems to be able to make this right. Worst rental experience ever.

Pros: When I arrived to pick up my reserved rental car. There were two employees which was very unprofessional. When arriving I was told bluntly that no cars were available anywhere but worse, I wasn't given any alternative. I had to ask if there was a change a car was available at a different location. The guy ignored me and my request. After standing there in disbelief, The young lady finally offered some type of assistance by searching available rentals at the airport which had one full size available but there was no guarantee it would be available when I arrive.

Total mix up
Pros: I travel a lot when I arrived in Memphis at the Budget counter (have been there many times) I was told my reservation was for an off airport site. No way I always do airport sites. The said they could accomendate me at a different rate and only had Smart cars I could not even upgrade. I feel ripped off.
Cons: We reserved a mini van around 10 days prior to pickup. We received a phone call the day before asking if we had to have a mini van, if we would want a Ford Explorer instead. I said "no", we needed a minivan. We arrived at 8:30 the next morning, to start our family vacation by renting the minivan, and there was no minivan. The Avis employee said that there had been a glitch on KAYAK and on AVIS website that quoted a lower price on the minivans, therefore causing them all to be rented. There was no minivan there, even though they called me the night before asking me if I wanted something different, and I told them no. They again asked if I wanted an Explorer, and I told them "no" again. They didn't even have an Explorer on site to rent. After waiting for 20 minutes, nothing happened. No minivan, no Explorer, nothing. I called ENTERPRISE and reserved an minivan over the phone, which was DOUBLE the rate that KAYAK/AVIS quoted me, but it was available immediately. I still have received no explanation from KAYAK or AVIS. Probably wont use either of these companies again.
