Cons: As soon as I started the vehicle on the pay less lot the low tire pressure light came on as well as the change oil light. I drove off the lot at the assistance of my dad. I had paid for the rental for a week, dropped it off a day early and it got a low tire while in the lot. I was not refunded a daily rate nor was I refunded the daily insurance rate. I was also told that as soon as you sign the paperwork that you are signing responsibility of the vehicle to maintain like it's your own. She was very rude and then had me fill out an incident report. I never got refunded.

Cons: The first car they gave us had a tire that was bald down to the steel. While they were quick and easy about giving us a second car, this task took valuable time from our brief visit to our dying father.

In the end, they made it right.
Pros: Good customer service. Despite the initial shortcomings, they ultimately made it right in the end and ensured we were satisfied and in a safe vehicle. Prompt shuttle service to/from airport.
Cons: Booked online as 'Ford Focus or equivalent'. Told at time of pickup from airport that it's actually for a Ford Fiesta or similar compact car, which is much smaller than a Focus/equiv and was not what I had booked the rental under. Clerk made it right and gave us a free upgrade to that size range of vehicle. When we were presented with vehicle, Hyundai Elantra, front tires were at wear bars. Seeing as it's front wheel drive and we anticipated snow, this would not work. Looked at two other equivalent vehicles, tires also bald, some well beyond wear bars. Inquired about a different vehicle, small Jeep crossover with good tires all around, and employee offered it as free upgrade.

Great service with Reno Payless!
Pros: The Payless service was excellent. I really appreciated that they had a shuttle that would come pick me up/drop me off without having to wait for a long time. It came immediately when I needed it!
Cons: I wasn't a fan of the car, itself, but that has nothing to do with the Payless service, which is what I value more when renting a car.

Beware: Counter closes at 11pm, despite letting yo
Cons: I booked the car for 11pm pickup but the counter was closed at that time. All other rental agencies were still open. There was a piece of paper with a number to call for after hours, I tried calling this number at least 20 times and nobody answered or called me back.
Avoid Payless at all cost.

Cons: Couldnt rent my bank card that ive been a customer for 10 year's according to u guys didnt pass credit but my credit union that i have had for 9 months accepted but didnt have all the money on card. So payless said no went to dollar rental and the bank card that supposedly said no said yes there. I feel they should do over phone and tell you that. Lost a awesome customer rent cars often.

Pros: GREAT rate, employees were very helpful.
Cons: Car was a bit musty, or perhaps had been smoked in. Not terrible, but noticeable.
Pros: The only thing that worked for me with this rental was the consideration and service I received from Daniel. Thanks to him I was able to get my reservation but at a considerable higher cost plus the cost of a taxi to and from the Sparks location from the Reno airport.

Cons: I reserved a car in the morning and after 30 minutes Avis/Budget called me to say actually they have no car! Then why was it displayed available? They said the online status is not accurate!

Cons: The car was not available at the appointed time. When we arrived in Reno we called to say we would be late due to a misplaced telephone (this was an offsite location). They said there would be no problem. When we arrived about 1:30 PM we were told there were no cars available and that one could not be secured in another location. We were also told that no car was available earlier that day at our scheduled arrival time of 10:30 AM. We were told that we would be called as soon as one was available, later that day. I said that I might not be able to pick it up before the 5:30 PM closing time and they assured me that a car would be held for us regardless, and that we could pick it up the following morning. The agency called and left a voicemail about 4:30 PM to say they had a car. I was unable to call back until about 5:20 PM but there was no answer at the local agency and I was routed to national reservations. The agent at national reservations was unable to help me. By then it was past 5:30 PM so we were left without a car that day. Based on the local agencey's earlier assurances I called the next morning about 8:00 AM and told them I was ready to pick up the car. They said there was no car available. I asked why, since they called late in the afternoon the day before to say it was there and they earlier assured me that it would be held. They said that they had to send it to another agency. I reminded them that they assured me that it would be held and they said "it just doesn't work that way" and there was nothing they could do. They again said they would call me back as soon as a car was available, which would be that morning. I never heard back from them so I found another rental car.
My wife and I had another rental from Reno to Sacramento with Dollar. The Budget reservation was made for our daughter as she was driving to Lake Tahoe upon arrival. Our plan was to stay in Reno the evening of Sept. 15. When the Budget car was not available we returned to the Reno airport to add her to the Dollar rental agreement at a cost of $48 plus tax so that she could take the car we already had and go on to Tahoe. Our plan was to then pick up the Budget car later that day or the following morning and drive it to Tahoe to meet her on Sept 16. When the Budget car was not available that morning and it became apparent that the agency didn't care to resolve the problem we secured another one way reservation to Tahoe through Enterprise. It was at a substantially higher cost but the lowest cost alternative available to us at that time.
I use KYAK extensively and they do a good job. I have also rented from Budget many times in the past without problem. This rental experience was terrible and I attribute it to a poorly run, off airport location which had no regard for the commitments made or customer service. I think that Budget should reimburse me for the additional charges incurred and I request KYAK's assistance in resolving this issue.

Cons: Somehow Budget always seems to come up with these crazy tax fees and obsurdly overpriced "misc charges". They are not a company with integrity. I will no longer rent from them. And I rent a hell of a lot!

Cons: My flight got diverted from Reno to Sacramento. I explained this to the Budget representative as I was waiting in baggage claim and she said there was nothing she could do and that it would be over $600 to pick up in Sacramento--more than 3 times the price I had booked online. So I cancelled the reservation and booked from another rental company for the same price I originally got online. Seems like a bad business policy by Budget.

Pros: After waiting for about 8 groups to get their car delivered to them, we go upgraded to a vehicle that was sitting in the garage. It was a more suitable vehicle for our trip.
Cons: They had one older gentleman walking to get the vehicles, and there were about 8 parties waiting for cars. Very inefficient.
Cons: The agent who rented us the vehicle was not knowledgable about the care or what we as a customer needed. She flat out lied to us. The vehicle was horrible smelling; so much so I put my jacket on the back seat and it smelled so bad I had to plastic baggy it to pack in my suitcase and was without a jacket. We drove around in freezing temps with the windows down because it was so bad, for the 3-4 days we had it. I febreezed it and they didn't even help!
The entire experience was bad. They refunded part of our $ but doesn't make up for having to go to my own wedding in a smelly dress and jacket. Won't rent from them again. Totally ruined my trip.

Cons: Cost was more than what you said. Dirty car. Not clean. They tried to give me a car with half gas in tank and then after driving it back less than 10 sec. They exchanged cars.

Pros: Car (Prius) was wonderful.
Cons: Car was dirty - we were sunblinded by the dirty windows!! Had to clean ourselves. The rest of it looked dull and like it wasn't cleaned or it had been sitting for days. When we arrived- NO one was in the office. I kept opening the door to have the buzzer go off - no one came. I finally had to whistle to get someone in the rear yard's attention!!
