Excellent location and very clean hotel. Staff very friendly and breakfast was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. None
Comfortable room, easy access to garage and secure parking so we did nit need to unload major suitcases
Quiet location but close to the centre of Auxerre. Breakfasts were substantial with a good choice. directions to the hotel were too vague and led to us and other guests we spoke to, getting lost in Auxerre
no where to eat. room service only
Furnishing of room was adequate and very cleqn and good size. It was near enough to points of interest; sights in the old town, preferred restaurants and marche. Private parking avaiable at decent price. Chateau de Challanges, ouside Beaune, was a much better value for the same price.
Very good service, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms.
The hotel was really comfortable and attractive and the welcome by Cyril at the front desk and his ongoing help was outstanding. No
The staff was really amicable and helpful. When our child got sick during the night they helped us find a doctor and pointed us to an open pharmacie. The breakfast was a bit pricey and no cheaper alternative.
Great location, close to town and near restaurants, bars etc. Paying €7 for car park and bath very slippy - had to use a towel to stand on for fear of falling in bath.
The Room Smelt Damp amd unpleasant
Stayed for one night only. Everything you'd expect of budget accommodation.
Very basic accommodation, at best Not clean to expected standards, and bathroom crummy and smelly. Lack of ventilation/extraction a problem.
Friendly check-in (if you arrive before she goes home), room for 4 people at €39 is great value, good buffet breakfast Small, well-used rooms, tiny bathroom, no charm at all, surrounded by other low-price hotels on an industrial estate. You wouldn't want to spend much time here, but for overnight it is fine.
friendly staff cramp room and toilet facilities. poor breakfast.
We liked the situation of the hotel and its proximity to the main roads. The staff were very friendly and the facilities easy to use. No
The force of the water in the shower. The third bed in the room wasn't made.
The Hotel was clean and the staff helpful, as we were only staying for one night en-route to Italy it was ok. I would not wish to stay for longer as it really is a budget hotel.
good for road trip. Needed an overnight stay before we arrived in Paris. no
Easy to find and only suitable as a stop over, located next the motorway for easy get away and next to a couple of restaurants within 2 minutes walk I can only describe this (hotel) as a portacabin with a portaloo cubicle inside to and shower and toilet, if your nimble enough you could sit on the loo, take a shower and brush your teeth all at the same time, I used it for one night with 2 kids and the wife and that was enough, if your on your own then it would be fine, used by a lot of workers on stop over, very basic breakfast amenities.
Staff were excellent. Single beds were very good but double bed suffered from "roll together"
location, comfort and cleanliness of lobby and room, free internet access in lobby, nice parking facility
Excellent breakfast. Lovely views from our room which was very comfortable.
Staff were excellent. Lack of parking facilities, especially for disabled people.
Our first night in France and this hotel was part of the memory. Beautiful old hotel in gorgeous setting. Wonderful nighttime photo. Thank you.
It was surprisingly nice interior, ver well presented and comfortable. Internet access. Adequate buffet breakfast. When we initially saw the outside of the hotel, which is old, we were a little worried, however, we discovered later the exterior was in keeping with the history of the area. Parking at the rear for a fee. We had booked the hotel as a overnight stop only. However, we visited the tourist information centre about 50 metres down from Hotel at the suggestion of the receptionist. We did a free walking tour following "Cadet Roussel's" plaques set in the footpath and discovered very interesting facts about this interesting historical town. We drove out along the River Yonne and viewed the locks where to canal boats pass through. Liked it all. Well situated across from River Yonne. Not a fantastic view but given the history of the city and the River it was wonderful to be part of this town.
Auxerre is worth the trip, historical monuments, fine food, nice country side and do not forget to visit the tourist bureau very close to the hotel, to expand your activities. Please write at least 15 words
The friendly reception staff . No
Location, polite friendly staff, very comfortable kingsize bed, cleanliness, good buffet breakfast, 24 hour reception service, view over river. If stay had been longer than three nights, would have appreciated more drawer space in room.
Attentive and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Nothing
The location was good as a convenient one night stop over point from Calais to the South of France and they offered a Family Room for 2 adults and two children. It was somewhat confusing regarding the evening meal. They did not have a Restaurant as such but one could order a meal at Reception to be seved either in the Dining Room or on the Terrace or in one's own Room. The 'Waitress was a Trainee and that added to the confusion. Some guests were unaware of the procedure and waited in vain for a Menu at the table and failed to be acknoledged by the trainee waitress.
This is a first rate hotel located within a five minute walk from the town centre. The room was beautiful and the staff very courteous and helpful.
Everything! THe pool was great! I liked everything, tho breakfast (which I didn't eat) could be a little less expensive.
Very convenient for the town and easy to find. Parking on site and English speaking staff who were both friendly and helpful. Our room was very dark; dark furnishings and energy conserving light bulbs which, whilst admirable, meant that we had huge difficulty in finding our way round the room. Finding clothes in the wardrobes was nigh on impossible!
This hotel reeks of Napolionic History, just my style!
Very friendly welcome from the owner - genuinely nice to our children - and very comfortable family room. Interesting gardens.
It was a perfect location with walking distance to the centre of Auxerre. The staff was helpfull and the room was quite big.
The hotel staff was very pleasant. The swimming pool was a wonderful fringe benefit at the end of a long and very hot day. There was too much furniture in the room (Superior).
Quality of the food and wine, courtesy of owners and staff, delightful breakfast. A little difficult to get from carparking area to front door with baggage.
Clean, simple hotel for one night stay on the road. Signage to find hotel was on existent on the highway -- had to ask for directions since it wasn't visiable from the highway.
Nice modern room, accesibility slow internet, not much choice of tv-channels
This was our first stay in the Kyriad chain and we were immediately impressed with the efficiency of the room. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the walkin shower was the best of our trip. Not enough plugs in the room...my husband travels with a C-Pap machine and needs a plug near the bed. At the end of a day of sight-seeing we need to re-charge camera, ipod, phone etc. More plugs in the room would have helped.
Nice clean hotel, fantastic restaurant next to it, but that's it. Nothing else around it but another hotel and another restaurant.
Pleasantly surprised by hotel as I booked it for overnight stay on way from Brittany to Switzerland. Seemed newly decorated, lovely bathroom, As this hotel is not close to anything I did on this occassion use the hotel restaurant and was very happy with quality of food. Room is a bit small. But this is not a problem for a one night stay.
The helpfulness of the receptionist The rooms were overcrowded with beds - 3 where there was only room for 1 double.
Right off the highway and easy distance from Auxerre. Expensive restaurant, but there is a cheaper one just a 5-min. walk down the street.
Parking by room very convenient and restaurant excellent could benefit from clearer signposting
Facilities offered by the hotel
parking, free internet very small room, bathroom was very old, the toilet was discusting.
staff efficient kind ciourteous and always smiling
very nice restaurant
We enjoyed using the swimming pool on arrival and again before leaving, the following morning. The weather was fine and we enjoyed taking dinner on the terrace. No
The staff was very friendly and courteous. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was very disappointing. There was still an hour left of service when we arrived and the buffet was practically empty, not that there was a lot of choice to begin with. It was not worth 14 euros.
Excellent restaurant and open until late. Very convenient parking just outside your room. Peaceful rural location.
breakfast was good It could be cold in winter.
The address shown at web-site did not mention an exact place. It should be corrected,
Swimming pool. Close to motorway. The price for breakfast was 14 Euros. We would have had breakfast if it had been 8 - 9 Euros but at 14 we considered it expensive so we went elsewhere. Also, becasue we had young children we had to have supper out as well, because your evening food service did not start until 1900 - too late for small British children!
Staff were very helpful and friendly and food was good. This was a stop-over on our return journey from the South of France and proved to be ideal.
I needed a hotel that was near the national route and on the way to the alps to break a long drive on skiing holiday. The rooms are large, very clean and quiet!!! The breakfast is very good value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a stop over.
Standard Campanile - predictable and good value. Based on just one meal, the cuisine is below par - my salmon was very over-cooked.
Located just of the Autoroute, was convenient, practical and the staff friendly. The rooms were standard campanile as was the food. Disappointed that the room drinks facilities were well below standard. Not sure it was twice the value of the cheaper chains.
The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. It was very conveniently located off the autoroute.
The proprietor was friendly. Restaurant pricing was reasonable, and the restaurant service was good. The toilet bowl was stained dark brown, which is unacceptable. The room was cold in May. The room was tired and required deodorising.
Etap is better value for money
- L'odeur insupportable de la chambre et de la salle de bains
Good position by the river and helpful staff The atic room was ok but the bathromm facilities were below what I would expect
1. The site and the view. 2. The quitness. 3. Good beds. 4. Pleasant and helpful staff. 1. Lack of shower curtain in bathroom. 2. Quality of main courses in restaurant; to much salt
Convenient, quiet and peaceful, pretty location and convenient for very nice area of countryside around, with excellent food and wine.
For us the location was perfect. we had just ended a boat trip and the hotel was right next to the port were we had to leave the boat.the restaurant is very good too the decoration is terrible
The location was excellent (river view). The grounds are perfect. The evening meal was also excellent.Highly recommended. No tea/coffee facilities in room.
Lovely room and good location for Joigny - staff were very pleasant
helpful staff and excelant location no
Location, high quality food & service
I had a very nice dessert, fruit with a lovely custard over it, wafer to complete the dessert ! The bathroom, shower would be better if a wall fixture was in place for the rose.An electric jug in the room is always handy to make a cup of tea or coffee.
Excellent, clean, well positioned hotel with fantastic aspect. Fantastic food at a very good price. Recepionist was excellent. Beer a little expensive, wine extortionately priced. Staff in the resaurant a little sour faced, but seemed very busy - it was a Sunday and this was the best option for food. As a group of six, our courses didn't arrive together and we had to ask for those that didn't arrive at the table.
Great atmosphere, food & drink at dinner. No frills but good value
The very remote location was a blessing and the family who own the vineyard were very friendly
Although I made a mistake in my booking date, the owners did all they could to organize two rooms and three dinners for us. We stayed in the Gîte and we liked it so much that we think about coming back next year. The food and wine were very nice too.
Great hospitality, lovely location, great wine No non-meat option for the evening meal, was a shame
Excellent food, with fabulous staff. Very good price and certainly highly recommendable. Everything was good.
The setting was very good and the wine cave tour / wine tasting was excellent. The evenng meal was beautiful french fair Whilst we had a great meal / evening it is B&B style, not your typical restaurant. You eat with everyone else
Excellent kitchen, great staff and good beds. We really enjoyed the stay.
Pool area. Relaxed atmosphere throughout the property. Friendly staff. Generous amount of Domain Wine included as part of the evening meal. There were no bad points.
From a less welcoming location the day before this was a transformation. This is a working wine producer and provides rooms that are more functional than luxurious but there was a welcoming comfort, wine tasting and rustic food that will guarantee a return. And really good value. Couldn't stay longer!
Nicely informal. Good bed. Very convenient for golf. Overpriced - small standard room with cramped bathroom (& defective hairdryer). (By the way, €120 is the normal price, not cut-price, as they indicate on booking.com.) No air con. Golf course itself in poor condition, with lots of bare patches on greens & fairways alike.
