Very nice lounging area to do work, talk. Loved complimentary coffee/tea in the morning and the lobby. Complimentary evening prosecco also very nice. Good fitness center. Very nice bathroom amenities.
Only stayed one night so no issues
Friendly staff, but won't stay again
Staff was very friendly Sense of style The remodeled lobby was very crowded at check-in...the remodel did not improve traffic flow
Paper thin walls Poor internet Small bathroom (even for small people) SLOW and small elevators Couldn't get receipt at checkout (printer not working, system didn't allow for email) All in all, it was a stressful stay
Great hotel, less than great booking experience
Great hotel, great service, great room. Couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Allegro
The booking site Amoma.com gave me an invalid confirmation number, and since the hotel was already full for the second half of my stay, I ended up quite stressed out and dragging my luggage around for a full day until the hotel had a cancellation and I was able to stay. Amoma.com was very responsive and professional when they finally responded (I think they're based in Switzerland), and I think some third party was responsible for the booking problem, but regardless, my stay was more distressing than I had hoped for. If you have a choice, I would recommend booking with another agency for this location.
KAYAK is unreliable!
This review is not a negative review of the hotel. Rather it is a result of a horrible experience with kayak and their vendors. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told at the front desk my reservation did not exist. After showing them several emails from kayaks vendors, they told me those confirmation numbers did not exist if that was the fifth person with the same issue booking through kayak that day. After several hours on the phone with no successful resolution with kayaks vendors, my partner was finally able to secure a room for us at another hotel. We are still trying to resolve this issue with. I will not be booking through kayak again.
Attention to detail was fantastic!
Perfect for theater weekend. Great location, beautiful room . Thoughtful amenities.
Small and noisy
The room is much smaller than it seems in the photos. Walls are super thin which makes privacy very difficult. Expect to hear your neighbors.
Clean! Beautiful! Wish the bathtubs were a tad bigger!
Great Location, not so great room.
The location. My wife and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera playing next door at the Cadillac Palace. I can't say enough about the convenience of having the hotel next door. no having to walk blocks to our vehicle. Walked down the sidewalk and into the hotel, was able to avoid the cold Chicago weather.
The Room. We stayed in Room 405. Our view out of the 2 windows, the first was a brick wall, the second, an alley way. At about 2am, for some reason the windows decided they wanted to bang against the frame endlessly, not allowing neither my wife or I to sleep. The bed was definately not a King Bed, and for it being a Premier Room, I would have expected the bathroom to be bigger than the size of a closet. I can't say I wouldn't stay here again, but would want to see the room before check-in.
Well run, classy hotel with very friendly staff!
The room was perfectly sized and extremely comfortable.
Not a single thing.
World Series accomodations
Everything was great!
The receptionist messed up my receipt.I used my company's card to stay and I am the only person who stay in the hotel. And when checking out,I just asked for the receipt but didn't check it.after coming back,I have to use the receipt to do my reinbursement, but found out that it is not under my name and the stay person wrote down two, which looks pretty bad on me!i called the hotel to change the receipt name, they refused it bc it is a past reservation! The most annoying thing is that when I checked out using the compan card,I asked them if it is ok to pay with a card not under my name.they didn't say anything.and the worst thing is that the receptionist change the name of my reservation in the system and didn't tell me about it.moreover, the receipt amount doesn't match my reservation amount which is also ridiculous!!!All in all, this experiment almost cost me to not be able to reinburse my stay. They r obviously not professional and it gives me a really bad memory here!
Rooms were incredibly tiny. Elevators did not work.
There are many different types of travelers who spend their hard-earned money coming to the Windy City. When they arrive, they expect that all their needs will be taken care of wherever they are staying. Furthermore, with Chicago’s reputation for elegance, a proper hotel in the city can’t just do the bare minimum. There must be stylish décor, luxurious amenities, and attentive service. When looking for these requirements, there is one hotel that jumps out on the list, the Kimpton Hotel Allegro. The Kimpton Hotel Allegro is one of Chicago’s best hotels because it offers so much to travelers. Business travelers will enjoy the conference room facilities along with the large desks in the room. Other amenities they will enjoy are the dry cleaning and laundry services. With complimentary WiFi, it is possible to get everything done before your big meeting the next day. For both business and leisure travelers, a great way to start the day is with the fitness center. Whether it is running on treadmills or enjoying using the free weights, your day will start off on the right track. The leisure travelers will also enjoy the pet friendly nature of the hotel. There is nothing better than sharing an experience with the ones you love – even if they are covered in fur and have four legs. A great Chicago vacation is not hard to find, and neither are great hotels. But when you are looking for the best hotels, not just any will do, and that’s why travelers find their way to the Kimpton Hotel Allegro.
