close to Michigan Avenue bad noise in duct everytime air came on. kept me awake most of the night. advertised as 2 room suite, but NOT 2 separate rooms - very misleading.
The staff were helpful, friendly. The location was ideal - central and walking distance to most things we wanted to see and do. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The water they make available near the lifts on each floor was a welcome treat since the weather was very hot during our stay. We also stayed with them for our 2nd visit to Chicago.
I could not find anything that I disliked. I drove to Chicago and used the valet parking which was very convenient.
the hotel is very neat. it seemed to me that there were very few staff around at any given time and that made me to feel isolated and virtually alone. the service points appear all automated and as a result, the human touch was absent.

This Intercontinental is in a great location on the Magnificent Mile. The rooms are spacious and the bed and bathrooms are nicely updated. The pool was very nice as well. I would recommend the valet if you are staying a over 24 hours they have a flare rate and you can leave and come back. Parking around the area is just as expensive but you can't leave and comeback. They also gave me late checkout of 2 PM.
This hotel has a long history and floor plans are quirky but the rooms are remodeled and modern. Our room in the historic tower had a 31st floor view that happened to have windows facing 3 different directions for a 270 degree view from Michigan Avenue to Lake Michigan (I think it was the only one on the floor with that expansive view). Minibar charges when we didnt use anything is always really annoying. I would have hoped a nice hotel like the Intercontinental wouldn't have this issue.
Lack of comfortable lounge area in the bar area. Years back there was a very ample lounge area for either for couples or larger groups. Too bad they eliminated it. I am also glad the re-opened the pool early.
From the moment you pull up in front of the InterContinental you know you've made a wise choice. A friendly, suited doorman opened the cab door and welcomed us into the beautiful lobby decorated with a 4-story Christmas tree. We checked in and an exceptionally friendly clerk, Mariana, made sure we were given a quiet corner room, per our request. Our room was clean, spacious, and newly renovated - but not overdone. The wi-fi was fast, the bathroom toiletries lovely, and the room was quiet. Stop and see the pool -- it is the original, and its gorgeous. How often do you see chandeliers over a swimming pool that once boasted Esther Williams as a swimmer? Best of all, the location. Between Ontario Street and the Chicago Tribune, right before the river -- perfect! When we stepped off the elevator the rug was worn and shabby. This was our only complaint about the decor.
Location was fantastic and newly renovated older tower was lovely. Pool and health center were fantastic When we parked in the garage, no one offered to help us with our luggage. The parking fee was astronomical at $67 a night. I was charged $400 plus dollars for a mini bar that we never touched and it was obviously from another room as the names on the requests were not us. One employee said she would have to investigate and it would delay our checkout. NOT GOOD! I called the front desk again and spoke to someone else who immediately removed it
Pretty hotel with nice location Thin walls. Noisy halls. Some staff friendly but others not. Got a good deal but wouldn't pay full price for tiny room. Bathroom needs updating/ more thorough cleaning (shower curtain ripped and some mold on end of shower curtain rod)
The location was top notch in a historic building- it was pointed out during our architectural boat tour! Our room's windows were inches from a brick wall which made me feel very unsafe. No notice that it was an interior rom when we booked. In addition, we could hear the wedding reception going on below. Sure this hotel has plenty of rooms, but do you really want to chance it that you will be placed in one without a window?
Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel Very slow elevators, mini-bar costs were outrageous. No one wants those any more. Guests would like a frig and microwave. Cost of room was outrageous for how mediocre the rooms were. The parking is a total rip off at $67 a night.

Beautiful. Comfortable, luxurious. Staff assistance was hit or miss. Very frustrating. Some staff was very helpful. Others were not to the point of carelessness or rudeness. At this hotel I had expected service to be exquisite. It was not. For the price there's other hotels with better service who value their customers more highly.

Location This is not a 5 star hotel in my opinion. Lacking in quite a few too many areas. Lights in the room never worked, spa facilities were medicore at best, in room amenities were sparse. I expect more out of a 5 star.
Great location in the heart of the Mag Mile/Gold Coast. Staff is friendly and helpful. My kids loved Parker, the house dog. The pool and locker room areas were wonderful. Minor detail, but I couldn't change the spray pattern setting on the shower head. I just switched it over to the hand held and all was good. Like I said, minor detail.
There's so much to like about this hotel: service, location, accommodations, etc. Everything about this hotel is set up to make sure your stay is perfect.

The location and staff were both excellent. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to help us anyway they could. The carpeting in the hallway was extremely dirty. The room carpeting was dirty as well. The room could have been cleaned a little more thorough as well. Walls and cabinets had smudges and leftover spills on them.

I have heard there is some noise Weds to Saturday late nights but I was there on a Monday night. I guess there is a nightclub. That still probably wouldn't bother me. It's a really nice hotel and if you are going for a night out in the city this is a perfect place.
Is this a swingers hotel? Lots of people walking around in their underwear in the hallway. Desk said this is typical.
Great location and staff. Feels like a high class hotel. One of the 2 elevators was out of service. So the one was always busy. Especially with always stopping at the the Club/Lounge on one of the floors.

Exactly the amenity level that you want to pay for. Great, though not extensive, onsite amenities (gym, spa), and a GREAT restaurant/bar. I was passing through on business for one night and I had a couple of small plates and was really amazed. I'd definitely come back just to eat here, but the room was clean and well appointed too. At 44, I have to try pretty damn hard to be hip enough to chill at the ultra-cool bar at this place. I leave it to others to judge whether I was successful or not.
The front desk hung up on me 3 times and my girlfriend twice, the comforter had black mold. So overall this place is ghetto
The staff was pleasant at check in and breakfast. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I appreciated the full size hair dryer which I'm finding to be a luxury lately. The bar was a very young hip LOUD crowd. My group felt very out of place trying to get a drink there with some coworkers and we had to leave early because of it. Coming back to the hotel after dinner there was a wait to get on the elevator between all the loud groups going up to the bar.
Had a great experience overall. The staff at the front desk, restaurant and main door were all very attentive and courteous. My room was very quiet as requested it. It was located on the 15th floor and it was impeccable. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to check out and enjoy the gym and the lounge on the 4th floor. I was very pleased and would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Godfrey Hotel.
Great newly updated rooms and incredible gym that puts many Health Clubs to shame. Room Svc leaves a bit to be desired but luckily they're located in great proximity to many great restaurants.
Location and decent sized, clean rooms. We booked day of stay and got a good rate. I would actually rate it a 3.5, but I didn't have that option. Extremely uncomfortable, stiff sheets.

It is such a big hotel I found it chaotic especially with several different events going on. Crowds of people, lots of noise. Just too big a apace for me!

I arrived 2am and there was no reservation and the company never told me there was a problem with my card. Spend until 4am getting another reservation for next day and then arrived and there was no reservation again. They ruined my entire business trip. had to spend half day looking for another hotel. The first night Marriott accommodated me in a room that was not what I expected. At least had a place to sleep. They were kind and very helpful, but the room I got was not what I expected. But It wasn't hotel's fault was getaroom.com fault.
Great location, great staff No fridge or microwave
This hotel is exactly what you'd expect from a stay in Downtown Chicago. Imposing structure, bustling atmosphere, and lofty prices. The central location couldn't be beat and the view provides you a look at the city no matter which direction you face. Room was clean and modern. After some initial difficulties, a new room was provided and sorted out with a credit to be used with breakfast (delicious breakfast, but expect to be charged the Chicago price for it). The price for staying directly on the Magnificent Mile shouldn't be surprising. The lobby was constantly occupied and persistently loud, which also is indicative of a stay in Chicago. The initial room assignment seemed to belong to another individual as there appeared to be clothing in the closet and a suitcase laid out when the door upon a very brief inspection from the cracked door. After informing the front desk, a new room was quickly assigned...but only one of the two keys ended up working. After our final trip to the front desk, we were in better shape and the breakfast the next day was delicious. The room was by no means spacious, but exactly in what you'd expect from Chicago standards. Don't forget you'll be paying for parking, which is at least simplified by the ability to charge to your room.
The view from the room was very good The staff was excellent. The place had a very modern feel and look. The bed was very comfortable I would go back. The room did not have enough outlets. The room was small for the cost.

Nice views from the room and the fitness center. Very clean and quiet despite how busy the lobby was with guests! Low, popcorn ceilings really make the room feel more like a motel than a high-rise! The room was a bit outdated overall. Also the location was not super easy to access on foot - ended up taking more cabs than we would have liked.

Location was great for Michigan Avenue shopping as well as Shedd Aquarium, Museums, and Navy Pier. The pool and hot tub were great. The water temperature was perfect for kids. The view was excellent from the top floor, which is where the pool/fitness area is located. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Elevator system was easy. The overall design of the hotel was a bit unique and differentiated from other Chicago 4 Star + choices. We valet parked the car. When you leave, you go down to the parking garage to exit. The corner to drive out and up the ramp is super tight . I ended up scraping my back door pretty substantially. It was operator error for sure. I would just caution others to be careful as they leave or ask one of the valet guys who do this all the time to drive it through the corner.
The room was nice - great view. Chair could have used an ottoman but actually had good magazines to enjoy while relaxing in the room. Keurig coffee in room, which is always nice to have. Hotel was busy during our stay, but the room was quiet. The check in process was poorly organized and there were not enough people at the concierge desks to handle the number of guests. Overall I found the staff to be less than helpful and not particularly friendly. Our room wasn't ready until after 4 - and they were supposed to text or call when it was ready and they never did. We booked the hotel for a weekend get-away and not sure we'd go back.
Beds super comfy; Felt like I was staying at a spa; Staff super friendly and helpful; beautiful view of the river and partial skyline; GPS kept wanting to take me to the closed parking garage underground; Had to ask other hotel valet down there how to get up top to my hotel (not hotel's fault). Valet expensive ($70), but guess it's the norm for Chicago.

I booked a room in Chicago at the Swissotel for two nights and after reading the horror stories about kayak bookings through getaroom, I was a bit apprehensive. Based on my travel plans and circumstances, I was able to risk it and make other lodging plans if necessary, so I risked the inconvenience of whatever troubles getaroom might cause me. Fortunately, I did not run into any troubles at all and had a wonderful stay at a luxurious hotel that is in a great location. I received all the service and privileges of a normal stay at the Swissotel. No complaints.
We did not expect a room with a view but we got one and it was amazing! The rooms were also very large and we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. We were right beside the elevators so we heard them often but we got used to it. At first if just sounded like a plane flying overhead until we figured it out but it was no where near a deal breaker for booking again.
Love the location near River & Lake Michigan. River walk has so much to offer right outside the doors. Walkable to most major attractions. Just off from the crowds of Michigan Ave. This is our 4th time and always my first choice when visiting Chicago.
It was in a pretty great location and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were well kept and comfortable, though do need a bit of updating. We did not receive a very warm welcome upon driving up to the hotel. It took us a minute to find a valet and a bellhop.

Rooms looked great and was very comfortable. The view was great. For a room that costs 250.00 and up being nickel and dimed for things is kind of silly. Pay for wifi??? Really. Parking was also pretty outragous. The restaurant was pretty over priced for the quality as well. I understand payibg fir your suroundings but was a bit much..... We've stayed there quite a few times now. May be time to try another place.
I liked all the design of the cuilding structure and room. I did not like that check in was at 3:00pm but ghey did not let me check in until almost an hour later because my room wasnt ready and there was suppose to be a small fridge there but it was locked up ,So couldnt keep my food fresh.
I was charged by both Kayak as well as the hotel. I'm now going on my second week of "working" with a totally incompetent staff on getting reimbursed. I have received phone verification over a week ago that I was going to be reimbursed. 5 Phone calls later I received an email confirmation, yet I have yet to receive any reimbursement. When asked to speak to a manager I was told the manager was aware of the situration and my reimbursement would be received in the form of a credit on my credit card - that was 5 days ago and still no credit.
The rooms were so nice! Very clean, chic, modern. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The lobby was incredible. The location was awesome, with views overlooking Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. Our remote batteries were dead and it took about 5 minutes for someone to visit our room with a new remote. The service was excellent! The sliding door on the bathroom; the bathroom wasn't very private. The gym was not as large as it looked in photos I saw online, and it was incredibly busy.

Service was fantastic, and the newly remodeled facilities were eye-catching and beautiful, as well as functional. The location was fantastic too. I felt nickeled-and-dimed for things that should have been cheaper, or free. For instance, parking: $65 per day to park is outrageously expensive, even for Chicago, and should have been much cheaper, or free, for what we payed to stay in the hotel. I get that it's not a Holiday Inn...but that surprised me. Also...buy more than single-ply TP, and fix the cable television. Didn't work the whole time we were there.

The staff was unfriendly. There was always a line to get into an elevator from the lobby. The rooms were small and dirty with stains on furniture. You can hear everything through the paper-thin walls. Poor night sleep because our neighbors were up causing noise all night. Do not recommend.
The location is absolutely perfect if you're visiting Chicago from out of town. However, the rooms are small and basic so if you're not planning on staying in the room that much it's perfect.
It was a great place to stay - stayed here for business travel. They're professional all around. Don't get a car here; expensive for parking. You shouldn't have one in Chicago anyway.
The room layouts are convenient, the cleanness of the hotel is up to par, and the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Chicago and there is a convenient social bar downstairs! Customer service representatives at the front desk were not helpful. I personally would not recommend this hotel before another hotel because of the service I received; but the hotel is very nice and in a great location.
My wife and I have always stayed north of the river but chose this one to stay in a different part of the city but be close to everything. We loved the location to CTA stops because used that to get around the city. We loved the location's proximity to basically anything that we needed. The staff was very informative and friendly. My wife enjoyed the chilled water bottle stations on each floor. The elevator runs very quick compared to other Chicago hotels that we have stayed at. The room service and food deliveries run late into the night. We purchased our room online so maybe we were not given the best room. Our room was in a "hole" of sorts. There was absolutely zero views from the small window and barely any sunshine. The size of the flatscreen tv left much to be desired. Most hotels now at least have a 40" tv. There was no microwave in the room and not one that we could access down in the lobby area. The bed was not overly comfortable. Again, we loved most things about hotel because we chose it more as a crash location, not a place to stay all day.
Free wifi and free water. My "queen" bed was really two twin beds pushed together which lead to an uncomfortable nights sleep. The room was also the size of a closet but I was too exhausted from my flight to put up a stink.
Outstanding service and staff. The room was clean and they had a fitness room that wasn't busy. Also, they had these purified water stations on each floor. Very small room and the treadmills were pretty low quality.
TV service did not offer NBC and possibly ABC. Otherwise a great place and location. The other stay a couple of weeks ago - the phone did not work. Could't call to the front desk. Phone was dead and even after reporting this continued to be dead for the whole week.

Very clean and comfortable with a great location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel offered many free services (free bottled water, printing, snacks, coffee...etc.). On site restaurant was very good. Bathroom and shower was very small but manageable. Bathroom had a frosted glass door that was surprisingly see through. Plan parking in advance to avoid either paying a small fortune for parking or having to park several blocks away.
Loved the free coffee and water on each level. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Walls were thin, and you could hear other guests making noises and playing music in their rooms.
We stayed at the Club Quarters because it's a block away from the Chicago passport office, and was reasonably priced. Checkin and staff were great, very helpful and attentive, very accommodating. The business center in the basement is very convenient, however, it didn't offer color printing and we were prepping for a visit to the passport office which required color printing. The staff have me a list of kinkos/fedex offices which offered color printing, however the list was outdated and I wasted an hour running all over the city following old information. I share this with the staff and hope they have updated the info. I would have gladly paid for color printing, and was wishing I spent the extra $$ to stay at a Hilton, which reliably has color printing.

I hosted a meeting while I was there and their banquet staff was exceptional! They were able to make changes last minute. If they didn't know the answer to a question they found out for me. They were always smiling and always on top of every detail without my asking. The side chair & mattress were a little harder than I prefer.

Beautiful hotel all around. Incredible pool deck, one of the best I've seen, Upscale, and very clean. The noise from fire station nearby meant that we had to keep the balcony door closed and so it was a waste to pay the extra money for a balcony you can't enjoy. Very expensive parking.
Loved the view of the city from our balcony. Also, the rain shower was great! It was the perfect location to all the tourist attractions of the city. Would definitely stay here again! The cost of parking was a bit overpriced.
Booked through kayak the day of to arrive and no record of my booking at hotel. Card was swiped twice, so I had to wait past my stay for the authorization to fall off for the $700 charge. It was a messy situation and one that shouldn't happen while I am taking a break.
Very caring/warm/genuine staff. Outstanding view of park from room. Great breakfast in room and "rainfall" showerheads were very relaxing. A bit away from the shopping but they have a Bentley to help with transport. Could not secure a late check-out but hotel was fully booked so this was understandable.
The fancy coffe pot in the room. Just simply give me a Mr. Coffe machine that is a no brainer. We also stayed in the room when we had to switch the clocks back. No way, no how could we figure out how to move the time back one hour. Stupid things, but iratating.

Concierge, door men excellent. Paying for with fi? Really...at these prices? Terrible. $10.00 to use 15 min. Had no idea. Showed up on statement. Housekeeping fine first night but 2nd night left our duvets on floor and when we called to report they actually asked what we would like them to do about it. After telling them we wanted some new duvets a maid came and complied. Next day we returned to find all of our pillows with shams gone...not a functional problem since we still had pillows to sleep on but since they are part of the decor we weren't sure what that was all about. They were on the bed when we left that morning. Overall the room was quiet but I think we could do better next time. Hotel being renovated so maybe the reno rooms will blow you away...ours did not. Other than housekeeping staff the rest of staff was helpful but could have been more accommodating when we missed a night of our reservation due to being snowed in at airport in philly and unable to get there. If they couldn't refund a night of our pre paid room we thought we might have recd a complimentary night in future. They told us to ask price line about that but price line pushed it back to them...
My husband and I recently stayed at the Omni with are 1 year old twins. The staff was more than accommodating. Everything from gift bags for the girls to bringing up a microwave and refrigerator. We will be back!

Really enjoyed the stay here, very comfortable and a great location for the price. I needed to make a last minute update to stay a few more nights as my travel was cancelled due to weather. The employees were extremely helpful in letting me keep the same room and at the same rate. Stayed on the same floor as the pool, so some noisy kids were expected
I have been a Marriott guy for some time and had the opportunity to stay at an Omni Hotel in Dallas and decided to give it another try in Chicago because my Dallas experience was so good. They are a true class act! Nothing!

I loved the location, it's very close to all of the main dining & shopping in which I came to the city for. The staff was excellent and very kind to me, that goes a long way!! The price for the sized room that I was given was not up to my expectations.
Staff was extremely friendly including maids, front desk, and bellhops. I stayed on a high floor which had only 2 other rooms. No problem with elevators. My room had a great view over the Chicago River and was larger than I expected. Taxis were immediately available, but also a great location to walk to many things. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
The location allowed us to walk everywhere. We came to attend the Blues festival in Grant Park and the art museum. The staff was very professional and helpful. Silly as it sounds,the fingerprints on the glass entrance doors drove me crazy. I also did not like the glass drinking glasses in the room. As nice as they were, I did not know how they had been cleaned and would have opted for a plastic covered disposable glass.
Location is second to none Absolutely no amenities or service. No breakfast. No luggage carts. No frills hotel. Don't expect anything but a place to sleep. We aren't unhappy at all. Just not impressed for the money we spent

Would have liked a complimentary breakfast, but there is a place right next door and an Einstein's Bagel a few blocks away.
Good location, just across the Chicago River from Trump Tower. Very convenient to the heart of the city. The staff, including the house maintenance personnel, was very nice and responsive to our request. Bedbugs, my wife was bitten 4 times. Not pretty. No air conditioning due to a dual pipe system which has already been converted from chillers to boiler even though the afternoon temps. were in the eighties. We had to ask for a portable fan. Old building with small, slow elevators. Rooms need to be updated. Toilet leaked and left puddle on the floor. When we picked our bags up from checked bag storage, my fold -over suitcase had been unzipped and remained opened. Would not stay here again.

This is a great historic building, classic Chicago, in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The "living room" on the second floor offers a convenient space for meeting or relaxing.

This hotel is all about location. If you are planning to stay in the downtown Chicago area choose a hotel that is next to river front and Club Quarters is one such hotel. Nothing really. Hotel lacks in complimentary services and some amenities like a refrigerator and a microwave oven in the Standard room type. Probably this is by design.
Beds very comfortable. Location was perfect. Lighting in bathroom not good at all. Height of tub could be a problem for kids and short adults.
This hotel has a really nice "members only" feel to it like a stodgy old man city club with out the stodginess. it is beautifully decorated and the rooms were not your usual doer and feel. There are so many different venues to choose from that we could have never led the hotel. The drinks and food are a bit pricey, but it fits. The only thing I would change about the room is that we wished there was an in room coffee maker. With all of the other stuff they put in the room to charge you for, a coffee make would have been nice. Also, we had to order ice from guest services as there are no ice machines on the floor.
Loved the location the staff and the bed Hated not having a tub , shower only . The room view was a metal structure and a concrete wall . The room was very small.
Very unique hotel with cool public spaces and furnishings. Friendly, helpful staff. across the street from the cloud sculpture at millennium park. Highly recommend!
Great location, and beautiful view from the rooftop bar. Renovations in the building are really wonderful, and we enjoyed having coffee in the morning in the lobby area. Unfortunately, the hotel can't decide if it's catering to its guests, or the long line of people waiting to get up to the rooftop. Elevators were extremely slow, and we were told not to take the stairs, even though there was no sign saying staff only. Additionally, the design of the room trumps function. I wish there was a place to hang my towels. And it was dark--I had to move my suitcase underneath the light to find my clothes. And yes, the shower leaked everywhere and was a little cold. But it all looked nice.
Public spaces, vibe, decor, the radio in room. The inability to do a normal load of laundry -- either by myself or by the pound -- they only offered laundry with rates like $5 per pair of underwear was a major hassle/shockingly overpriced. Rooms are pretty small and most face an old factory-type building, but that's no big deal.
I liked the quiet room, and the overall peaceful quality of the hotel. Also the bed was great. Also enjoyed the lobby. The room was small but fine for one person.
I would have given this stay 4/5 stars had not my Fitbit been stolen. It was not misplaced nor left somewhere, it was stolen which isn't obviously unacceptable. Everything was top notch including the view, but if I don't feel safe leaving my things behind, what's the point?

I liked the modern design. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the reception area relaxed and inspiring. It took forewer to get hotwater to my shower, strangely enough emediately to the zink.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was so helpful and polite. I am a frequent visitor to Chicago and I would definitely stay at Hotel Felix again.
Didn't stay here long but got upgraded to a beautiful suite. Great facilities, decor, etc. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a great choice!
We got a great rate on kayak. The room was spacious, bathroom was huge, and shower was great. Lots of storage and hangers. Staff was extremely helpful, very nice, and very quick when help was needed. The view of the room was awful. We looked at a very dirty alleyway with a view of a brick wall. Also our truck was damaged by the valet service. They assured us they would make it right, so that's why I still gave them 4 stars.

Everyone was just so helpful - whether it was advice on the train system, to off the beaten path restaurants or activities, all of the staff went out of their way to help us enjoy our trip to Chicago. The room was very quiet - we seldom heard any noise outside of our door. There was a bit of construction outside the hotel, but even that added to the peace we felt at the facility.
Location, location, location Two blocks from Chicago 'bean' - cloud gate and parks. Front of hotel with construction for 'E' was not pretty -- but we never heard any noise in our room.
I have stayed in many upper end hotels in Chicago and this property has a great location, great staff, rooms are fabulous and an overall great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again.

We loved the location and the welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere is elegant. For a small extra cost, we opted for the Executive Room with access throughout the day for a light breakfast, snacks during the day, and hors doerves during cocktail hour. It's view is spectacular and all but the tables which are too small, we enjoyed immensely and visited often during our stay. WiFi in your room is an extra cost and not included in the price of your room.

Location and old world elegance Several elevators broken, tea room not kept up-my chair had a big hole in it. Chairs looked dilapidated, carpet worn, menu insert pages barely legible (bad photo copies). Most pages had faded writing in 3 of the four menus. Also-3 menus did not include alcoholic beverages

Whinin walking distance to downtown shopping and attractions and great restaurants, walked to Chicsgo Art Institute to take in Van Gough exhibit. Parking too expensive
not much Room was 'nasty' for a 4 star hotel. -broken soap dish on the floor -faucet handle was not fastened and fell. -really dirty carpet -old building. poorly renovated. bad paint job in the hallways.
The Drake is a Chicago classic. A bit old, but very luxuries and very, very beautiful. The excellent location and nice staff delivering outstanding service make the Drake the place to be. A bit dated, and almost impossible to roll your own luggage. Unlike most hotels with marble floors, The Drake has the thickest carpet imaginable. Also, the rooms are small for the US (and the money) and you will pay a lot for a view. However, this is the oldest and most desirable location that The Drake sets the standards for all of the other Chicago luxury hotels.
Room was clean. No recreational stuff no pool no sauna nothing it was boring.
Loved the staff at the Hyatt! They were amazingly helpful, especially Ariana who was there no matter what we needed. From the valets to the housekeepers they were so wonderful. The business center was very helpful and the latte's were delicious. The room was really quite loud. The air conditioner would kick on and wake me up several times a night. We were also close to the elevator (which I know is unavoidable) and could hear word for word the conversations in the hallway. This made for a rough night's sleep.
The overall experience was great - facilities, location and staff were wonderful The corner lounge was strange in terms of food offerings, everyone shows up for breakfast expecting to find dry cereal, bananas or a pop tart. Get rid of the candy and party mix and offer a minimal continental breakfast.

The staff was awesome being able to get some obscure requests. The bed and pillows weren't very comfortable. And there weren't that many amenities.
Great location--close to everything we needed. Super friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable accommodations. The bathroom was poorly separated from the bedroom. With a gap above the hanging door to the bathroom area and a much bigger gap above the glass door that made up the toilet room, it was almost like we were in there together. Not very romantic.
