Located in Arbois, Closerie Les Capucines is in a rural location, within a 5-minute walk of Castle Pecault and Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin.
Pros: Lovely property with very helpful and kind innkeeper.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: Stylish comfortable clean delicious breakfast friendly and helpful manager
Pros: The friendly, easy going staff. The breakfast. The cooling down in the pool at end of the day...
Pros: Excellent choice and variety at breakfast. Exceeded our expectations. We were made very welcome
Cons: We liked everything about our visit.
Pros: This place is a charming little diamond in Arbois with charming hosts. Its very clean and quiet with luxury beds, a nice shower and a deep soaking tub (We stayed in the two-bedroom family unit). The back of the property includes a small pool, gardens and overlooks the little river. A special place
Pros: Amazing find. The attention to detail is fab. Great location. Beautiful property. Gorgeous village! We loved it.
Pros: The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had all the amenities you could need and although the sinks were a bit unusual the bathroom was functional. The courtyard was wonderful and made for a nice place to have an evening picnic.
Cons: The only thing was the giant bees/wasps that flew into the room in the evening when we had windows open and lights on.
Set in a 19th-century mansion, Sarl Les Caudalies is located in Arbois, just 1 km from the Château Pécauld. It offers a garden, an on-site restaurant and elegantly decorated guest rooms. All of the rooms at Sarl Les Caudalies have a TV, a minibar and a desk. Each room features a private bathroom with a bath or shower and free toiletries. Breakfast can be enjoyed each morning, with an additional cost. The hotel’s restaurant serves buffet and à la carte dining with gastronomic produce. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Free private parking is possible on site and Dôle-Tavaux Airport is 20 km from the hotel.
Pros: Excellent 6 course dinner with matching wines for a very reasonable price. Friendly staff, well placed in Arbois, working air conditioning in the room (not always the case!)
Pros: Lovely old building, very well renovated, and a garden running down to a river. There was good parking, and the restaurant was excellent. We hope to stay again very soon
Pros: We booked a superior room which was spacious, comfortable and clean. The excellent service (calm, friendly, patient owners & staff) made our stay memorable and worth returning for in the future. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant very much.

Pros: Nice place. Big room. Own parking. Good restaurant.
Cons: Too expensive.
Pros: Lovely low hassle check in Lovely surroundings and very self sufficient Fab shower and great lighting in the room Lovely view from the room Wonderfully quiet Am sure if you upgraded the room from standard you would be impressed !
Cons: Pool very very small compared with photo Perhaps ditch the tennis court and make more of a garden or pool feature In that area Ok for one night as a quiet and relaxing stop over Poor options for snacks or eating in the evening with exceptionally limited bar area - no outdoor service area although the hotel could make more of this
Pros: Quiet location in the woods, near cascades. The room was spacious enough.
Cons: The breakfast was poor. Customers had to prepare omelettes themselves, there were no instructions on how to use the small stoves and the pans were of low quality. All this lead to a lot of smoke... and a strong reaction from another customer. And staff was not visible. Except when they during the breakfast rush-hour started cleaning the coffee machine. In the room, the floor was dusty and the quality of the daily cleaning service varied.
Pros: Great food at restaurant Friendly staff Great Location, breakfast room next to the waterval Short Walk to beautiful nature park
Cons: Room was a very basic for the price, expected more castle
Pros: Yes and yes. Bedroom excellent. Food excellent. Lovely place.
Cons: Not being able to stay longer and too much rain. Absolutely nothing not to like .
Pros: The staff! Mylène was exceptional, she was full of energy and a great ressource for the area. Thank you for making our stay wonderful. The room was great, the food delicious and the surroundings beautiful.
Pros: The location is absolutely wonderful, located in the countryside, close to a river with beautiful falls, nice walks, cosy garden, next to the smalll village of Les Planches and very close to Arbois. The welcoming was so warm, feeling home, with a very confortable room. Diner and breakfast was excellent. So much peace. Long time that I enjoyed so much a place
Cons: Nothing to say really
Located in Chilly-sur-Salins, Chambres d'Hôtes Le P'tit Bonheur is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin and Castle Pecault. Free self parking is available onsite.
This renovated 19th-century farmhouse is located in Grozon, on the Jura Wine Route, 16 km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Salins-les-Bains. It features a sauna and homemade jam is served for breakfast. Featuring exposed beams and wrought iron furniture, the guest rooms have a TV and free Wi-Fi access. Some rooms offer direct access to the terrace, and the bathrooms have a heated towel rail. The property also offers a self-catering studio with terrace. A typical French breakfast including homemade jams is prepared every morning for breakfast, which can be taken on the terrace. You can play table tennis and pétanque at this property, or relax beside the fireplace in the lounge. Free private parking is possible on site and this property is 28 km Val d’Amour Golf Club. Poligny Train Station is 7 km away.
Pros: Bedroom was very roomy and clean. Host was very nice and stayed up late to accommodate our late arrival!
Cons: While we appreciated the home-made breakfast, we personally found the jam flavours a bit too exotic and would have appreciated a « regular » flavour (strawberry, apricot)
Pros: Beautiful and interesting accommodation in a tranquil spot in the countryside. Warm, interesting and helpful hosts, happy to chat about the area and provide restaurant tips (plenty of restaurants just a short drive away). Trouble free parking. The best continental breakfast I have come across - just wonderful!
Pros: It was a beautiful converted barn with lots of character. The bed room and shower were very spacious, again with lots of character.
Cons: In the bedroom there was an electric kettle, mugs and flavoured tea. No English breakfast tea or powdered milk, which would have been useful.
Pros: Lovely and quiet setting. Beds a bit hard but room was excellent as was the breakfast with home made jam.
Cons: Hard bed.
Cons: The location is lovely but as no evening meal offered we had to go into town to eat. No one there until 6pm which is not ideal. Room very hot, no fans or a/c,difficult to sleep.
Pros: The room and the bathroom were of a good size but the bathroom door did not close. The breakfast was lovely with fresh crusty bread and home made yogurt. The house has many rustic decorations and interesting points. There are toys for children and nice seating in the garden for lounging under the shade of trees.
Cons: When we arrived we were met by the lady of the house who showed us to our room in the loft area. She seemed a little off hand but we put this down to the heat. It was stiflingly hot and as it had no air conditioning we asked if she could provide a fan. She said no. The South of France is always hot at this time of year and we were surprised to find that a fan was not provided as you are unable to have the shutters open due to mosquitoes. This is the only place that we have not had air conditioning or a fan in a hot country. As in previous reviews of this property we thought that maybe the language barrier may have been a reason for her manner but the next morning she seemed to understand English better.
Pros: An old farm barn converted into modern and very comfortable house, yet retaining its character. Excellent interior décor, comfortable beds, oversize modern bathroom with excellent shower. Peace and tranquility of rural surroundings. Excellent petit déjeuner.
Pros: The breakfast was very good. The room was spacious and comfortable. The owners were very friendly.
Cons: Screens in front of the windows wouldn't go amiss in the bedrooms and bathrooms to keep out the insects.
Pros: The excellent accommodation was beautifully augmented by the two charming and welcoming hosts! We will be returning!
Cons: It was nothing to dislike!
A stay at Hotel des Messageries places you in the heart of Arbois, steps from Maison Louis Pasteur and 4 minutes by foot from Castle Pecault. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The hostes was extremely kind and helpfull with good advice and suggestions.
Pros: This hotel is conveniently located near the square, museums and churches. Parking was directly across the street and easy. The hostess was friendly and extremely helpful, giving us tips for what to see and where to eat. She even gave us the choice of 3 rooms. Because my husband had injured his knee, she carried my luggage upstairs so he wouldn't have to do it, and offered to carry our luggage down the next day. When, at checkout, she realized our booking had mistakenly been for just one person, I offered to pay the difference but she gave us the discounted rate. Breakfast was typical for French hotels. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would choose this hotel again.
Cons: We liked everything.
Pros: We had first stayed here many years ago when our children were small and loved the hotel and the warm welcome. We were delighted to find that it hadn't changed much at all apart from having a new owner who is absolutely delightful - warm, friendly and engaging and really helpful. We were upgraded into a superior room which was nice and the owner had redecorated it in a 1950s style which we really liked. The breakfast was very generous and delicious and it is nice to hang out in the bar area too. We'll definitely return!
Pros: Kind and lovely owner, exellent location.
Pros: A typical French small town hotel, 100 meters from the central square of Arbois. Room with window which opened onto the busy street, with a nice virtually noise free ceiling fan. Very helpful staff, who pointed us to one excellent restaurant for lunch (Bistronome). Spacious bathroom.
Cons: Breakfast is OK, but everything is self service, with no staff present to provide coffee or tea. The rooms opening onto the street are noisy if one wants to receive some fresh air.
Pros: Very friendly slightly quirky hotel. Excellent location and extremely helpful staff
Pros: Marie, the owner, was very welcoming. She made us feel at home on our visit to Arbois. Her recommendations on where to dine and places to visit were excellent. She also speaks several languages fluently.
Cons: Our stay was great. I would not change anything.
Pros: Welcoming and excellent receptionist Easy to use shower. Good value breakfast Good choice of beers
Pros: Very helpful staff
With a stay at Grand Hotel des Bains in Salins-les-Bains, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin and Castle Pecault. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: stayed here before, know it well, and the refurb a couple of years ago has lifted it - well done !
Pros: Comfortable room, excellent restaurant food and presentation superb great staff
Pros: Receptionist very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast self service and boring
Cons: Location and steps from carpark. Plastic/paper cups in room
Pros: The room was tidy and there was a great restaurant below, Le petit Blanc, was independent of the hotel and delightful.
Cons: The hotels web page describes it as a spa hotel, and two years ago it was. The natural thermal spa under the hotel, and our reason for using this hotel, is now unavailable. The room rate for a three star hotel in an unremarkable town is, in my view, excessive. The bar charges €7 for an under volume (due to head) beer and refused to make it up to the 50CL line. The reception shuts at 21;00 so don't be late !
Pros: Bed very comfortable, good breakfast
Cons: There should be a bat within hotel That's available to use all day
Pros: Enclosed parking space -great! The room wasn't big, but it was really nice and comfortable. I liked the well equipped bathroom with nice natural light. The restaurant is attractive and well worth your €. The receptionist mentioned it and she made a reservation. Very interesting when you arrive at the hotel early evening and you don't have to search for another good place to eat.
Cons: Compared to the silence of the Morvan, where I stayed the nights before, the Place des Alliés is quite busy until after mdinight. Don't worry: it's not Paris. But If you want to sleep early with the window open, you might want to use earplugs.
Located in Salins-les-Bains, Appart Hôtel Charles Sander is within a 15-minute drive of Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin and Castle Pecault. Featured amenities include a business center and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location is great and the room was quiet except for one night when there was a festival in the park.
Cons: The room was under the roof and was incredibly hot. There was only one window, so no chance for a cross breeze. We asked for a fan, but they didn’t have one. This room should have a fan in the room as standard, or add AC like some of the other rooms had.
Pros: Spacious, clean nice hotel in the main road. Receptionists were kind.
Cons: Stone-floor in kitchen area and bathroom. Quite freezing to walk around in autumn but ok. When checking out, the whole hotel was off and no one were at the reception. Didn’t know what to do.
Cons: I’m not sure why it was necessary to pay extra for my dog.
Located in Salins-les-Bains, Hôtel des Deux Forts is in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin and Castle Pecault. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The family room was big and nicely decorated. Beautiful view and easily accessible. Free parking across the road was a bonus.
Cons: Checking out was a bit difficult since the lady did not speak any English.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, good restaurant, room works well for a family and was very clean.
Cons: Hard to park near hotel when there is an event at the casino. Matress cover is too "plasticee", makes noise when you move at night. Only sheer curtains in windows where the shower is.
Pros: God overall quality clean good breakfast quietlaxk
Cons: Lack of characters
Pros: Friendly staff. Elevator
Cons: Noisy dripping aircon. No coffee station in room
Pros: The shower was a walk-in, easy to use shower.
Cons: The town is a little short of facilities.
Pros: Location is well, we had a renovated room. The restaurant brings innovative plates et a fair price.
Cons: Not always easy to find a good place for the car.
With a stay at Hotel des Cepages in Arbois, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Maison Louis Pasteur and Castle Pecault. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Good shower.
Cons: Lots of highway noise.
Pros: Great comfort, no noise from other guests, great staff and lovely goo value breakfast with lots of choice
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: A very warm welcome, we arrived later than expected, we phoned to say we would be late and were told do not worry they would be there whenever we arrived. All 4 nights we spent there we had excellent room service and could not fault the hotel. A large carpark with security cameras added to the relaxing time. Do not look further for a hotel to stay. Only minutes away from the town centre and restaurants, bars and a great number of historic places with the churches and wine museum. Go and enjoy yourselves.
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: It is in a poor location. The restaurant was closed. There is building work going on. The room is very basic.
Cons: The room was overcrowded. Facilities very basic. Given the very high price it was not good value for money.
Pros: Modern refurbished with reasonable facilities
Cons: Middle of nowhere
Located in Pretin, Chambres d'hôtes des Fées is in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Maison Louis Pasteur and Castle Pecault. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The bedroom decoration, the breakfast, the quietness, and the fairies. Fantastic experience. Really worth driving off the main roads to find some rest into the Jura.
With a stay at L'auberge du Comtois in Pont-dʼHéry, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Haut-Jura Regional Nature Reserve and Arbois Musee de la Vigne et du Vin. Featured amenities include a business center and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Rooms not large, but well equipped. Stairs, but plenty of hand rails. Flexible breakfast times & food excellent, nice location handy for Arbois (& wines).
Cons: Unexpected Sat. disco went on a bit late.
Pros: Nothing, even location wasn’t as pretty as we expected.
Cons: Owner emailed 5 days before to ask if we wanted to eat in the restaurant. We said yes, given the hotel’s rural location and he confirmed the booking. On arrival, owner told us the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays. No apology. Had to drive miles up the road to eat, having driven miles to get there (but at least we hadn’t cycled there as others had). Hot water ran out after 1 shower. Shower leaked all over floor. Pokey room. No countryside view from room as in attic. Then tried to charge 10 Euros each for breakfast when it should have been 6 Euros - and breakfast wasn’t even worth that.
Pros: It's a conutry hotel in a very small village. The restaurant is very good (it's closed on sunday and wednesday) and the breakfast is also good.
Cons: I would improve the stairs lightning and the wifi signal power. The restaurant is closed two days a week and this means that you have to find some other way to get some food.
