Pros: Breakfasts were excellent and very well presented by Mandy who was a great host. The location was within reasonable walking distance of Walkworth Village Centre where there were two good pubs serving appetizing evening meals. Our bedroom was very comfortable.
Cons: The weather! Hard to think of anything - perhaps more car parking space.

Pros: Fairfield Guesthouse is immaculate, deservedly 5 star but warm and welcoming - there is nothing stuffy about the atmosphere. The rooms are luxurious and the breakfasts were SO impressive in terms of choice, quality of ingredients and how everything was cooked and presented.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant couple running a small B&B in a lovely rural setting. Comfortable lovely room, excellent breakfast. Close to local village with good pub / restaurant.
Cons: Valance around bed base would have finished off look of the room. Bath sheets rather than bath towels a nicer option after a shower. But these are very minor points !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and atmosphere is perfect.
Cons: The bed is too small for us, we are very tall. And I would like a mirror in the cabin...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a hidden gem, my friend and I have just spent the most amazing two nights in the Demoiselle hut and it was just perfect. The attention to detail, the breakfast hamper, the white company toiletries and the equipment that comes with the hut was outstanding such good value for money. The location is so peaceful, surrounded by rolling hills and sheep and cows grazing nearby. We spent our days exploring Rothbury and a trip out to the coast and our nights by the firepit. Already planning my next trip back!
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cabin- a repurposed train trailer- was super comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed waking up to the sheep close by and the convenience of a small but well equipped kitchen. What made this stay particularly memorable were the small touches: a little bit of food for the first breakfast, a small bottle of Prosecco, all the wood to start a BBQ and marshmallows for later in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location & ideal for our mammoth walk up to & over Simonside into Rothbury & back. Shepherd hut lovely & had everything you need for a short stay. Owner very friendly & welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room in a stunning location, friendly owners and a lovely welcome.
Cons: Nothing!!! Could not fault my visit in any way.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed and clean converted shepherds hut. Everything I needed and quietly situated.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very snug and comfy. Nice welcome treats in the fridge etc. Really nice set up - good views and it felt secluded and peaceful. Well stocked and compact space thought about Amazing sunrises.
Cons: The info says there were slippers, bath robes and an electric blanket - there weren't. But it was fine as we didn't need them. We had to go buy more kindling/firelighters/ matches but everything else was well stocked. Tricky to keep constant temp in the shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Total relaxation
Cons: To have been able to spent more time, but had to return for work
10.0 Excellent
Pros: “Leveret”, (the green hut) was fantastically comfortable and cosy, clean and well equipped. When we arrived we had to call the owner as there was a key missing from the hut, this was brought to us in less than 10 minutes with a friendly, no problem attitude. The hut is very tastefully decorated and has a heater as well as a traditional stove, perfect for cozy, quiet evenings in. We would certainly recommend the huts and would love to return sometime. The kitchen and other equipment provided are excellent finishing touches that make the difference between a good stay and a great stay, for example sheep skin style blankets for outdoor use, some first night breakfast items being included and a well equipped kitchenette and good quality bedding.
Cons: The only very minor niggle was that the positioning of the toilet/sink makes for a very tight fit when using the toilet.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from the breakfast table. Nice breakfast, cleanliness of room. Comfortable lounge. Pleasant staff.
Cons: Narrow roads with the occasional passing places to get to the b&b. Our room was a short walk from the main farm house where you went for breakfast. Our lounge was also remote from our room with a short walk to get there, not a problem for us but possibly could be for older people, especially when raining or in the dark. There was however a light to aid the short walk back to the room.

Vast choice at breakfast and hosts very keen to please and accommodate any special requests. Hosts were lovely couple to chat with!
Cons: Nothing that hosts could improve on. Just a shame we weren’t visiting to enjoy the area, only visiting to help a family member.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Mattress slightly too firm.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The amount of space we had at the property was a surprise for what we paid and the gardens we had access to sit out in on our own were absolutely beautiful. The coffee in the room was exceptional too. One I use myself. We saw little of Phil, with it being a midweek break, but he was very friendly in our one brief meeting and we absolutely adored Liz, whose warm and entertaining character made a very enjoyable stay even more delightful. We intend to go back as soon as we are able.

Pros: The style and attention to detail at Mill House B & B was way above any other B & B we have stayed in. Karen is a perfect host and makes you feel so welcome and does her very best to make you feel at home. Excellent breakfast with everything you could wish for. Karen was happy to recommend local restaurants and even booked on our behalf - excellent choice too! We will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in August 2019 for one day at Mill House. Karen was very friendly and accommodating. She even reserved a table for dinner in a nice restaurant nearby. Our room and her house in general were very nice and we would have liked to stay longer. Also the breakfast was excellent. We even were allowed to briefly wash our car because it was a bit dirty from our over 1000 miles long journey (we are car freaks^^). Thanks again for the nice stay. We would come again at any time!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was exceptionally good. A generous suite of spotlessly clean rooms, decorated tastefully in “French Chateau” style. Everything one could possibly require was there, in a peaceful rural location, but not too far from restaurants etc. Breakfast was wonderful too - lovely food, carefully prepared and presented. The hostess was delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming and delightful place and we had a wonderful stay on our way to Edinburgh. The room was really comfy and we were guided to a fantastic restaurant nearby for an evening meal. Breakfast was sensational.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent helpful hostess with a thorough knowledge of the area ,places to visit and where to eat. Beautiful rooms and plenty of choice at breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Karen has taken a lot of trouble to create a comfortable, tasteful and imaginative environment. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of fruit, cereals, yoghurt and preserves, as well as a great English non greasy ‘fry up’. We have stayed in a wide range of hotels, pubs, b&b’s and Millhouse stands out. Karen is a mine of information and advice on the area.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Parking is hard work. You have to borrow a visitor permit from the owners and find a space on the street.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: it was homely, I enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were very friendly because of their recommendations we had an excellent evening and would highly recommend the guest house. I would go back if I was in the area again without a doubt.

Pros: Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location of accommodation was perfect for our needs.
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely river view from bedroom. Nice en suite, comfy beds. Excellent cooked breakfast and the owner Elaine was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was good although on a busy street but host Elaine provided assistance with it. Parking is a challenge anywhere in UK. Premises was a renovated Victorian flat that overlooks a small river. A very quiet and functional room. Breakfasts were great and Elaine is a pleasant and helpful host. Handy to local villages and parts of Hadrian's Wall.
Cons: Less parking challenges around town but I acknowledge that problem is endemic in UK.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts. Very friendly. House was very comfortable and homely. Superb breakfast with great range of quality food. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Can’t fault our stay considering the price paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing to complain about, Elaine and Mike were the perfect hosts !
Cons: Nothing
4.6 Okay
Cons: Parking near the venue is restricted during busy periods so a visitor pass is provided so that one can park in designated areas on a first come basis. This can mean a space is available but some distance from the venue. A council pass is a so provided which allows up to three hours in the municipal car parks. The photographs displayed give a false impression (in my opinion) that access is available to a garden space overlooking the river?? The road is very busy and vehicles, very large and cars, travel at speeds that are not compatible with the nature of the area.
St Mary's Inn - Morpeth - Bedroom
12
9.4 Excellent (187 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Inn and B&B, near Morpeth in Northumberland. 11 country-style bedrooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great bed, great breakfast........very very good
Cons: The only minor issue was you could hear the bar through the floor - the good thing was it was not rowdy and went quiet quite early.....before 11 pm
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly efficient staff, room lovely and clean, bar excellent.
Cons: Unfortunately asked three times for an iron and iron board, eventually received a board not fit for purpose but no iron. . Suspect not the staffs fault. French toast also needs a rethink re taste, also came without the bacon as advertised. Rest of the breakfasts options however were very good. Unfortunate because it spoilt the stay a little
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent
Cons: But the food was not very hot and we felt it had been cooked for a while. Excellent but let down by the nearly cold food for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of staff. Cleanliness . Excellent food .
Cons: All excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely venue, quiet surroundings- great room. Lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent too.Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Finding out how the heating in the room worked (it didn’t for us) & to be told where breakfast would be served in the morning - as there were several areas. Both these things are easily dealt with by either the staff member showing you to your room or by adding the details in the Information Pack, in each room. An addition of a blanket to be used if necessary, would be perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed before. Great location. Comfortable ,spacious with a modern twist.
Cons: Beds were too high as I am only 5ft 2 and struggled to get in but had a laugh trying.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: All was excellent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, spacious room. Excellent polite service, good food. Maybe a little expensive.
Cons: The shower suffered water pressure problems on occasion...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The website didn't fully represent the location, given that hotel is totally surrounded by an extensive new housing development. However the hotel facilities were very good and the staff were superb.
Cons: We were expecting a rural setting, however the hotel is surrounded by massive new housing development which came as a bit of a shock.

Pros: Great location, traditional property
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a top-quality hotel, where we felt very spoiled and pampered. Everything was luxury standard, and the decor was beautifully tasteful. Yet it was still friendly, down to earth and not at all snobby. My mum's room was a double, overlooking the car park and church at the back, and was not only beautiful to look at, but wonderfully quiet. Breakfast was just gorgeous - the breakfast room had a lovely atmosphere, and the choice of food and service were great.
Cons: Our room was a twin, overlooking the street, and was rather noisy with traffic. My elderly mum's bathroom had a bath/shower, but no grab rails, which meant that she struggled a bit.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location in Warkworth. The 'suite' bedroom was nice with a quality bathroom. Good breakfasts.
Cons: We had booked a 'superior double' and the room for the first night did not meet our expectations. The hotel moved us to a 'suite' for the second night, which was very acceptable. Annoying background music in all the public spaces. A personal opinion. I prefer a quiet dining room and not to listen to local radio adverts over breakfast. We ate elsewhere for dinner to avoid it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Being family run everyone is so friendly and eager to help.
Cons: Tiny fault in the young members of the breakfast staff were not as attentive as the rest of the staff.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We booked this to break a journey up north. We arrived very wet on two motorbikes which had to be parked in the street. The street was quiet enough for us to feel they were in no danger but we did lock them. The welcome was warm in spite of our soppy appearance. We even got a cup of tea and biccies provided which were most welcome. The twin room was a good size and the bathroom fine. The beds were comfy. With the window open there was some noise from the street The breakfast next morning was as big as you liked but we had modest portions of tasty food. It was easy to find and handy for sightseeing on the Northumbrian coast.
Cons: It is very much as it is. A small bed and breakfast offering a hearty welcome and doing a good job.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host, Ian, gave us such a warm welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The Haven is a lovely old house at the top of a little country lane. The tradional Northumberland breakfast was so tasty. But the best part was the beautiful location with a lovely view of the village; a tranquil setting with the charming sound of church bells ringing along with a chorus of various song birds and bleating lambs grazing on the surrounding green hills. We slept so well! The town is just a few minutes walk down the pretty lane, where you will find pubs serving the best fish'n chips ever!! Whether you want to simply relax or enjoy beautiful country walks with historical points of interest, the Haven is perfect!
Cons: Loved everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, as was the room. We had been upgraded to the suite, which was perfect for our stay and still had the wonderful view from the front of the house. Ian was an excellent host and pretty good breakfast cook, too. If you like kippers, this is the place for you. All the other breakfast options we tried, were great, too
Cons: Only the weather and that none of us can control.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable room with twin beds of good quality. Good shower and toilet facilities. The staff were extremely helpful and parking space excellent. We needed to leave early on our last day but this was problem and breakfast was provided. The food provided at breakfast was first rate with a wide selection of both hot meals and continental style. A good location close to town shops and places to eat.
Cons: The premises were a little difficult to find and access was available via a very narrow road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super breakfast - Craster crab omelette, pancakes with hot berries and chocolate sauce. Lovely quiet location, friendly host, good room, great view.
