Pros: Lovely friendly couple , thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, The rooms are modern and the bed was super comfortable, just pay a little bit more than some of the chain motels, and it's worth a million more. Thanks for having us guys....
Pros: Everything was perfect. The best Chambre d'hote of France I have ever met. Will certainly go back.
Pros: Owners very pleasant and welcoming. The guest kitchen and lounge was very convenient and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect for our journey down to Spain. Beautiful setting with nearby village.

Pros: All perfect. Very confortable and the owners very nice. It has every thing you need.

Pros: The hosts, René and Alwein, were very welcoming and everything was perfect. The breakfast was designed to satisfy all tastes and excellent quality.
Pros: Superb rural location - surrounded by vineyards and local walks Great facilities - the breakfast room was wonderful and so well equipped Good recommendations for meals out and clear directions Happily stay again!

Cons: Nothing! It was all great
Located a 30-minute drive from Beauval Zoo, Domaine de la Blonnerie provides individually decorated rooms in a renovated, 16th-century manor house set in a private park. It features a heated outside swimming pool and free Wi-Fi access is provided. Each room includes a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom fitted with a bathtub. The continental breakfast features homemade products and is served daily either on the terrace by the swimming pool, or in the living room. Domaine de la Blonnerie is a 25-minute drive from both Blois Castle and Chambord Castle. Local guide books are available on request. This property provides free private parking on site.
Pros: beautiful place, easy to find by driving, lovely garden and yard
Pros: surrounded by nature with a huge garden and enough space for all around the pool this Domaine is a lovely place next to Loire valley. the house has a lot of magnifique decorations and large rooms with enough space. but the best of all is the breakfast in family style prepared fresh and unique to the wish of the guests
Cons: on hot summer days it might get also hot inside but on the country side you will survive. because it is far away there are not many options for dining.
Pros: Chosen as the reviews were outstanding and we were not disappointed. The hotel is a converted farmhouse and the changes made by the owner are outstanding; it's classy, roomy and has oodles of style and flair. The bedroom was slightly less amazing but still ticked all the boxes with plenty of room to spread out and relax. We were greeted at breakfast by a plate of French Toast and Pancakes, closely followed by fresh melon, boiled eggs and of course croissant and frenchbread to go with the homemade jams. Magnifique.
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: Our host was very friendly and helpful and her breakfasts superb. The house and accommodation was excellent and well worth a visit. We shall return.
Pros: Very kind staff, beautiful historical building, great breakfast, large and comfortable room, optimal location to visit the region by car
Cons: Swimming pool was dirty every day of our stay, we ran out of toilet paper (no spare rolls stored in the room)
Pros: I selected this B&B because of its proximity to the most famous chateaux in the Loire valley. The estate itself was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Prior to our arrival we contacted the owner of the B&B to request some options for dinner as we were not familiar with the area. Unfortunately, we did not receive any feedback, which was OK considering that it was rather last minute. However, once we arrived, we were shown our room directly with no information about of the property facilities (for example, where to eat breakfast) and when we asked for restaurant recommendations, we were told to check the village next door. After over an hour of research and calling restaurants ourselves (most of which were closed because it was Sunday), we settled for a restaurant which ended up being a disaster. It would have been nice to receive at least one recommended restaurant that would be open on a Sunday evening or to be warned. The other negative for us was that the room was very very dark and the bathroom did not have an equipped shower but rather a bath in which you would have to sit while using the hand held shower head to wet your hair/body. So all in all, it wasn't a very comfortable stay and, therefore, we were not very satisfied. Indeed the property was beautiful and the breakfast was good but it did not match our expectations for paying over EUR 100 for one night. Perhaps its more worth it when the weather is better and you can benefit from the pool and you are not staying over a Sunday night.
Pros: Clean, friendly, quite countryside, great pool. Isabel, the host was very nice and friendly. Fantastic home atmosphere!
Cons: Little too far to the castles
Pros: The breakfast was great and homemade. Isabelle the owner and chef was very friendly. She even brought me a fan for the hot summer night.
Cons: There was no place to sit and relax where it was cooler other than my room. The tv had no directions, two remotes, quite confusing.
Pros: Domaine de la Blonnerie is a haven of peace, a XVIth century home in a large park with trees that has been beautifully converved. The rooms are all individually styled and there is a pool to relax after sightseeing. The plus of Domaine de la Blonnerie is the welcome you get. Isabelle is a charming host, always on hand to help, chat, offer suggestions on things to visit, on restaurants to book. She does make you feel at home, you feel pampered and valued as a friend rather than a paying guest. We have stayed twice now and will stay again any time we are in the area.
Pros: A beautiful place to stay and visit the Loire Valey.
Located in Mareuil-sur-Cher, Les Mariniers is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of St. Aignan Chateau and Zoo Parc Beauval. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very happy with the breakfast - lovely local goat cheese. The location was very near family so was great.
Pros: We were travelling down to the South of France, so wanted an overnight stay which was not on an industrial estate, this was just what we wanted unfortunately our ferry was 2 hours delayed, so we arrived rather late to enjoy the village and its facilities, perhaps next time. We would re moment this place. The breakfast was lovely with all local and handmade accompaniments to the continental breakfast, much appreciated.
Cons: When we booked the price stated 71euros with breakfast, then immediately 78 euros was removed. As it happened we were satisfied with our stay!
Pros: Amazing place to stay. Everything was just perfect
Pros: Clean and friendly people. I

Pros: The owners are frankly two of the most welcoming and nice people I've met in my life, you'll get to spend a fun evening in great company. The place is incredibly nice and my room was big and clean.
With a stay at Gites Près des Montgolfières in Angé, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Chateau de Montrichard and Caves Champignonnieres. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The studio features. The tenants welcome. The rate wry location.
Cons: Leaving the place.
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Prés des Montgolfières. The apartment was really cozy, decorated with taste. All the facilities were provided, the kitchen was well equipped, we even had coffee, cereals, tea, milk for breakfast which we did not expect. The beds were confortable...all in all a great discovery, we will surely come back for some holidays in the region and stay at Prés des Montgolfières
Pros: Quiet location; key items for breakfast were provided
Cons: No hot water but issue probably fixed now

Pros: Very very cool castle if you’d like that experience. The kids loved it.
Pros: One of the most memorable stays ever. The couple bought the castle 40 years ago and are still renovating so if you want a modern plush hotel with right angles please don't stay and reduce the rating ! Our room was the original great hall- at least 40 feet long with private chapel and even an old grand piano and walk in fireplace. View of moat out of the windows on one side and the courtyard on the other with ducks waddling in. Really warm room despite huge size and unseasonable weather. Breakfast very good in room with open fire. Every euro spent is probably used to buy more lime mortar for their latest project. Lots of places to visit nearby.
Cons: Bed could have been a bit more comfortable and less creaky . If you like extensive DIY and dream of owning a castle you could leave feeling very jealous - but also full of admiration for their tenacity and an appreciation of the true work involved restoring - 30 oak doors made my the owner , moat excavated ....
Pros: We loved the character of the ancient chateau. Very beautiful surroundings and quite unique.
Cons: Bathroom could do with updating with a walk in shower.
Pros: Extremely old castle, feeling back in time. Very good breakfast.
Cons: They have a lot to consolidate and the castle is not entirely rebuilt.
Pros: Excellent place to stay! Just like going back in time, we were the only guest for the 2 nights, and felt like King and Queen! The location is in the middle of Loire Vally, makes it perfect for base camp to visit, the town it self only has 2 restaurants, but with busy daily visit to the castles, you would enjoy the peacefulness in the village. The host is super friendly and wonderful, the beds are comfortable, and the suite is very clean! We will definitely recommend it for whom who is looking for a unique experience in the Loire Valley! Our son (13 yrs) loved it as well!
Cons: None, we loved it!
Pros: authentic atmosphere, old medieval castle run by a friendly hostess, passionate on castle's restauration. Nice breakfast in front of warm fireplace :)
Pros: BeautIful old chateau in glorious French countryside. Breakfast was lovely, served in an ancient dining room. Our room was huge, but the bathroom was very dated. The chateau has huge potential, but needs loads of money thrown at it to realise this. Great set for a creepy film!
Cons: Bathroom, the work needed to bring it totally back to life.
Pros: Loved the Chateau! Looking out over the huge vintage dining table & tapestry chairs in front of the massive fireplace under beams & surrounded by period stone & features, with the modern luxuries of a big comfy bed, loads of rugs, hot bath & indirect lighting in a room the size of a whole cottage! By a moat! With a gorgeous garden - bliss! Oh & a very nice surprise was a hidden kitchenette with kettle etc.! And it was warm.
Cons: Nothing. You can’t change various things in ancient buildings. The owners do very well!
Pros: The place is amazing. We felt transposed in a different century, and it was most definitely a good way to start our Loire Valley trip as it set the proper context. The host was very friendly and the breakfast was good. I really enjoyed seeing the big chimney from a chateau in action, and the whole atmosphere of spending a night in a XIII century stone castle with the squeaky large doors, thick stone walls, large wooden barns on the ceiling and old furniture was a genuine experience of the past times. If you are looking for a fancy 5* luxury experience, probably this is not the best place for you, if you are looking to wind the clock back couple of centuries and experience living in a chateau, this is a great accommodation.
Cons: I would encourage the owners to replace the blankets and fix the items / furniture in the rooms which require minimum maintenance.
Pros: The medieval authentic buildings , the moat , the breakfast , the location
Cons: The doors had blankets behind them to seal out the cold and the sounds , there were no door locks, one closet door was out of its hinges and left leaning against the furniture , there was a piece of cloth replacing the ceiling in the toilette, there were pieces of plastering falling from the ceiling in the main room , the fixture of the bathtub was broken , the bed was uneven and uncomfortable. Last but not least the so called family suite was a part of the tour of the chateau !!! And that is why checkin time was 17.00 !!!!
Located in Pontlevoy, B&B La Ferme Des Bordes is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Caves Champignonnieres and Chateau de Montrichard. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: excellent stay! I travelled with my partner and the family, and everything went well. The host was very kind, super home-made dinner, together with the other guests and excellent breakfast. The location is in the countryside, very green area
Cons: the thing to improve in the equipment in the rooms. There is no television, nor radio. Also in the common areas no tv. The dinner is with other guests, might be difficult if you don't speak french...
Pros: The people of the property are very friendly.
Cons: We had phoned that we would arrive later then expected and when we arrived there, we were shown to our room and they wished us a pleasant night even it was still 9.30pm. No offer to drink something or anything else. They went downstairs and met up with other guests and made a lot of noise.
Pros: The location was rural but ideally placed for visiting various locations around the Loire. A very large old farmhouse type property. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful she offered to do some laundry for us and when asked supplied an iron and ironing board. We had an evening meal at the property which was very nice and eaten with our hosts and other french guests. This was fun as our French and their English were equally poor. Our hostess carried the evening with her English.
Cons: A small fridge in the communal lounge to put cold drinks in would have been very good. There was not any tea or coffee making facilities. It has to be said that during our stay the weather was very very hot, the rooms did not have any fans to help keep cool.
Pros: Good company at evening meal, but not cheap.
Cons: Noise from geese overnight.
Pros: Lovely little farm tucked just behind a manor house. Horses in the stable, and geese, duck, goat, dogs and wild rabbits to discover. We reserved the table d'hote, as well, and enjoyed an evening of fine companions and delicious farm-fresh meal. Aperitifs at 8pm, dinner at 9pm, and your breakfast includes coffee in a bowl! Merci, Madame et Monsieur!
Located in Pontlevoy, Auberge de l'Ecole is within a 10-minute drive of Caves Champignonnieres and Chateau de Montrichard. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location. Terrace. Ambiance
Cons: Bed was very soft and uncomefortable especially as I suffer from joint pain
Pros: Cozy room, cute small hotel
Cons: Toilet was making a lot of noise. Bed too soft
Pros: Very good breakfast. Lovely garden dining area.
Cons: No advance warning that table for dinner had to be booked. Dining room full - no alternatives available except a take-away pizza. Our room overlooked the garden area so we were able to listen to the diners enjoying themselves for hours.
Pros: the staff were very friendly,
Cons: poor wifi
Pros: The location was good. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was superb.
Cons: Our only slight concern was that the bathroom (which was luxurious) was only curtained off from the room but we managed that.
Pros: Good dinner ,good sized room comfortable bed
Cons: Very small bedroom window looking at a brick wall. The shower was faulty Toilet cistern flush faulty
Pros: Onsite chef is outstanding. Staff is extraordinarily accommodating. It’s a small inn, and they accommodate guests for breakfast and dinner on request. Dinner and dessert are absolutely top shelf.
Cons: WiFi was slow and difficult to stay connected.
