A very nice hotels, well designed and very comfortable. The location is a little out of the way, but the hotel is well worth it if you are in the area. There is an excellent children's play area out the front that caters to a range of ages. The living/common room is a nice touch. Very good dinner and breakfast. The breakfast is chosen from a menu that caters to all. Note: the last dinner order is at 19:00 and drinks at 20:00. Late arrivals should mention this to the staff so that they are aware. There are not many options for eating or drinking in the village. We found the staff very accommodating.
Great staff, great room, great food, and an ultra-new bathroom. No issues at all. Loved by all the family. Would stay again in an instant, no hesitation. We had parking and brought our dog and no issues.
Nothing, it was great.
Beautiful newer structure in historic small town, and fits in well, despite being of a different era and design amidst the wooden uniquely decorated homes. Fantastic giant porch to sit on in the evening or afternoon. Room was with a large dormer window on top floor. Good size for two people and 4 bags. Contemporary, simple wood furniture and room interior. Breakfast in the first floor restaurant from a small menu supplemented by a good buffet of cereals and yogurts. Fantastic coffee! Easy waking to the entire historic village areas. Struck us as the best place to stay in the region. Beautiful drive in and out through the rural hills and valleys. Good base for a full day in Cicmany, and close to Slovak Ethnic Building Museum in Martin, which provides a contrasting set of architectural vernacular structures.
Room had no air conditioning and we were there on an abnormally warm day- check if that will be an issue for you. A separate group had the dining facility appropriated for the nite we stayed, but there are other excellent eating options in the village for dinner.
It is quite lovely and the staff is helpful and friendly.
We really loved it overall but like most penzions, they could use an American style ceiling fan in the room as there's little circulation, even with windows open ( when the night is warm).
Kastiel Cicmany is a newly renovated historical building in the center of Cicmany village. The village itself is a great place to explore as almost all houses are featuring original ornaments (one is not but you could easily see who decided to change the painting pattern that has been repainted for hundreds of years). Staff was very helpful and nice, breakfast delicious. The rooms are well equipped, clean and cozy. There is a nice hike from Kastiel to Strazov mountain; even more rewarding is a hike to Klak which will make you feel being in Dolomites, Italy. If you want to step out of crowds in Tatry, Slovensky Raj and Velka Fatra - Cicmany and both mountains (Strazovske to the west and Mala Fatra to the east) are a hidden gem in Slovakia! P.S. The Bojnice castle is just 20 minutes away.
