The staff was great. Beachside bar and food service was very convenient. Really delicious Coconut Mojitos. We saw dolphins while we were in the water at the beach. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The hotel is dated. The bathrooms need a facelift. The light in our bathroom would sometimes come on immediately and at other times, it took a while to turn on. The elevators are really slow. The beach is small.
We stayed on the waterfront side and it has a beautiful view. The rooms were clean. Staff always greeted us when we were arriving or leaving the lobby. Air conditioning was easily controlled. The bed and bed linens were comfortable. Plenty of towels and wash cloths as well. Parking was never an issue. Easy access to the private beach. Towels, tables and umbrellas were always available. Bar service / delivery was also available on the beach.
The bathroom taps were dripping in room 318. And just an extra note for couples who are travelling without children, the pool opens fairly early so noise levels tend to start up 7 - 8 AM so I would recommend a higher floor level if staying on the beach side and you wish to sleep later; however, this wasn't an issue for us.
The new rooms (seemed like they just remodeled the place). Private beach was perfect for our child so we didn't have to worry about her running off.
The pictures from the website make this place seem a lot bigger then it actually is. The pool is very small. It would be very crowded on a weekend trip (we were there during the week). The beach is also rather small so it too would also be crowded on weekends. The prices for the food/drink are higher then expected knowing its a touristy area. We went down for breakfast and the menu consists of pancakes, french toast and eggs. However they were out of pancake mix at 930am so... Wait staff takes a long while to get to you. They also put a mandatory 18% gratuity on every check which was ridiculous when they food was less then mediocre and the staff takes forever to even get drinks. The hotel charges a "resort fee" of $25 a day on top of what you already paid to book for things they say are complimentary like parking, WiFi, and umbrellas on the beach. Overall its not worth what you pay for it. It also doesn't have any fire pits like another review said. They must have gotten rid of them. The elevators are extremely small, hot (there is no AC in them) and slow. The two things this hotel has going for it is the private beach and the newly remodeled rooms.
Not exactly a cheap stay and for the money you'd expect a better level of service and amenities. Asked how late bar was open and told "until the bar tender decides to close" Room cleaning staff were friendly and efficient. Front desk were helpful
Place looks like it needs an interior update. Nice deck, tiki area but interior needs makeover
Private beach with fire pit, bags, and tiki bar.
Everything was good
This beachside hotel had a beautiful view and the beach was gorgeous. The room was small but very comfortable. Our room was one of the few without a balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room had a large fridge and also in-room coffee.
This hotel charged a resort fee for "complimentary" items such as free parking, free lounge chairs and umbrella, and free wifi etc.....This fee was $22 daily plus tax. We enjoyed an evening on the deck but the wait staff provided horrible service. We were one of 4 tables of people. There was one waiter, one waitress, and one bartender who only seemed focused on clean up. They walked past us several times to clear tables. After 15-20 min I had to stop someone and ask for a menu. After another 20 min I had to stop them again to ask to place an order. After receiving such poor service I was more than angry to find a "mandatory" gratuity of 18% added to my bill. I could understand a mandatory 15% tip if my party had been large but there was only 2 of us. 15% tip is customary for good service where 18-20 is customary for great-exceptional. This staff was not even in the good range. I live local and believe me when I say I will never visit this facility again nor will I recommend it to friends/family.
Nice private beach - great for small kids.
all staff throughout hotel were friendly.waitresses and bar staff were first class.
resturant at sea wake was not open weekdays.having to pay 25$ a day for loungers on beach.
it suck checkin was supposed to be 4 but there rooms were not clean so did not get A room intill like 6
the staff were rude slow did not care or your needd
Good location on a small beach-good for young kids.Clearwater is busy and caters to a young crowd, families might be dissapointed....we are locals....recommend Dunedin about 15 minutes away for a quiet meal.
Inconsistent staff particularly the waiters and those serving the beach/chairs.The elevators are unusually small for a hotel-very difficult to edge in a rolling cart. Some areas of hotel could use a facelift.Would recommend this hotel with reservations.....there may be better values out there.
Neat, clean. Not outrageously expensive. Nice restaurant.
The matresses were not very comfortable.
The close proximity of a few shops and restaurants and the beach front
Too close to other hotels and parking was tight.
Convenient location...staff was accomodating, easy to use parking, etc.
It was right at the beach, good located
the room was too small, it was very noisy (equipment on the roof), old a/c
The beach view
discount coupons. beach access. location and convenience to restaurants
matresses were hard
The view of the room
The beds were terrible, the sheets were bare thin, hte towels had holes where they had been washed so many times, the rugs had stains on them, the mini refrig was discusting.
