Pros: Large, comfortable room with garden view in a converted wing of the chateau. Really nice pool area and large walled garden to wander around or sit in. The chateau is shared with the family who are very welcoming. Monsieur speaks excellent English. Delicious dinner taken al fresco with other guests and the hosts was great fun.
Pros: very friendy
Cons: wish we stayed longer
Pros: Beautiful and eclectic house, peaceful grounds and super pool. Wonderful food, but the icing on the cake was provided by the hosts; charming, very friendly and extremely charismatic, they made our stay truly memorable.
Pros: Chahrming old house, warm and friendly family, good food, nice animals around. We had a very pleasant stay, and hope to repeat.
Pros: The owners are very helpful and nice. The rooms are whimsical and cosy and the pool is such a good place to relax. We had both dinner and breakfast several times and would do it again in a heartbeat. A little of the beaten path but so worth the trip.
Pros: We had such a wonderful time at this property with our 12 and 9 year old kids. The room was fantastic - beautifully decorated and extremely clean. There is a loft area with twin beds for the children, then a main floor area with a large bed for the adults. We enjoyed the pool, playing with the animals (dogs, cats, chickens, hedgehogs and more) and spending time with the owner and his family. The food was delicious and plentiful - a huge dinner salad with potatoes, cheese, pork loin and fruit then more cheese and homemade desserts. The kids had smaller salads and pasta. Our breakfast of pancakes, fruit salad, baguette and yogurt was also perfect. All in all this was a highlight of our vacation in France. It felt like a truly and authentically French experience and was a truly relaxing time with our lovely hosts.
Pros: Outstanding breakfast - wonderful grounds to explore
Pros: Warm and friendly family run business. Delicious home cooked, local produce for breakfast and dinner paired with great wines. Rooms beautifully decorated. Wholesome, French countryside living at its best!
Pros: Great place, great host, definitely a great experience. I recommend this place 100%
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: Fabrics and Agnes are excellent hosts. We felt like we were at home.

Pros: Wonderful food. Comfortable and very good value room. Extremely friendly staff
Pros: This is a typical old school French hotel, set in a lovely village. As such, it is absolutely charming and a delightful place to stay, either as a stopover or a few days. The owners were very helpful and food was excellent.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: The house is a lovely old French house beautifully decorated. The man and wife who own it are delightful. They are both very welcoming. The man is so funny and we always have a laugh with him. The wife is a wonderful chef. We have been there 3 times and we have never been disappointed.
Pros: Everything good as usual. Excellent steak for me, excellent fish for partner. Inexpensive but good wine. Crecy is in a very pleasant area; we've talked about staying an extra day or so to look around - and enjoy the hotel. General info: we had often previously shopped at the Leclerc in Laon, this time we used the much smaller Carrefour in Crecy. Good selection, good service, no need to shop in Laon.
Pros: Very friendly hotel management. Building is old and quirky (but in a good way). Nicely presented breakfast, and good restaurant on-site. Our room was huge. Secure private parking is available, but only for a few cars and access to the parking facilities is not easy to find. Great value for money.
Cons: For the money we paid, we were very satisfied with the value we received.
Pros: always a warm welcome, have stayed here 3 times and will again for sure. , they are so kind to provide us with food even when we were late arriving. The meal was lovely and fresh bread and pastries at breakfast were delicious. the location is perfect for our stop over on our way home, just over 2 hours to Calais
Pros: This was a gem of a place and perfect for an 'en route' journey into or home from Europe, being 15 minutes from the autoroute and only 2 hours from Calais. A traditional French hotel run by a couple who were charming and perfect hosts. The room was immaculate and spacious. The bar area comfortable and the food superb. On top of all that it was extremely good value.
Pros: The owners are friendly. Laurent speaks a good level of English and his wife Bridgette is an excellent chef. Our room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was fresh and substantial with the option of ham and cheese. The hotel is also a restaurant serving lunch and evening meals. The menu is extensive with both Traditional French dishes and also Pizzas and everything is home made. It is very good value for money.
Cons: Crecy-sur- serre has narrow streets and is in the centre of an agricultural area. The hotel is on a busy junction and during our stay many tractors and trailers (both laden with hay bales and empty) tried to negotiate the crossroads. All were successful but often not without difficulty! However, after about 8pm there was very little traffic noise and our sleep was not disturbed.
Pros: Really lovely people and they want to make your stay a pleasure. Very accommodating with the parking, check-in and the kids/dog. It's really clean and functional. Lovely breakfast. Great stay.

You will find a shared kitchen at the property. You can engage in various activities, such as cycling and hiking. Laon is 29 km from Troubadour, while Chimay is 49 km from the property.
Pros: The building is lovely, very elegant converted estate while maintaining its original features and charm, in a rural location. The host was fabulous - provided everything we could have needed and more! The dressing gowns and Flip flops for us both and women’s toiletries were a nice touch. Breakfast was fresh from the boulangerie that morning and was accompanied with more than enough options to satisfy us. The dog enjoyed rural walks and we were able to continue our journey to Calais feeling refreshed and refuelled. Definitely recommend!
Cons: The bedrooms do not have their own toilets - there are separate toilets and shower rooms which are literally 3 or 4 steps away, but if I’m honest, we really couldn’t care less and completely appreciate that the quality of the facilities and size of the bedrooms were not compromised as a result.
Pros: Hosting and extras

Pros: I thought it was 1st class, room and food
Pros: absolutely quiet and peaceful location, great to unwind, big bathroom, toilet extra, window could be opened properly, beautiful venue, nice pool, tasty breakfast
Cons: The staff was friendly but seemed very insecure when it came to speaking English so communication was a bit hard... I tried my best in French so we managed but it made everything a bit awkward... Big trouble with internet (wasn’t informed upon arrival and so tried for a long time)
Pros: Very nice Castle in the middle of the nature. Clean and cosy rooms with a big and confortable bed. The Castle has a very nice garden. Good swimmingpool (indoor) with a small relaxing area outside. The restaurant serves very nice and high quality food.
Cons: The price for the food in the restaurant is in proportion but the soft drinks are very expensive.
Pros: Classical French property with lovely architecture Good facilities Was upgraded to suite. Dined in Restaurant good gourmet food. Our Labrador was made welcome
Cons: Nothing really a little way of autoroute but ok to find with sat nav and nice countryside drive to hotel
Cons: The WiFi wasn't working throughout the stay, and phone reception was poor so we did need WiFi to make calls.
Pros: Everything was excellent. Can't fault the value for money.
Pros: The property advertised Wi-Fi throughout the premises, but in fact there was very little connectivity, whilst we were there, so that was a problem for us. Otherwise everything fine.
Cons: The Wi-Fi as above
Pros: Location and its amenities; it has everything you could want.
Cons: WiFi very poor, doesn’t work in the rooms and is very slow in the public areas if you can get it to connect.
Pros: Beautifully refurbished old french mini chateau with very convenience (except an elevator) that one could wish for. Charming building and room; exceptional food for dinner and breakfast; lovely grounds; great indoor swimming pool, sauna and spa; and delightfully peaceful, rural setting. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Pricing a little on the high side.

Located in Vervins, Hôtel Le Relais Fleuri is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Pays de Thierache Tourism Office and Museum of Thierache.
Pros: The owner is perfect and also the accomodation.
Pros: Relais Fleuri is well situated next to the rail station and on the outskirts of Vervins town. Adequate parking is available at & near the hotel. Handy restaurant for late arrivals. The rooms are very clean and freshly decorated.
Cons: The only issue we had was that the mattresses were hard & that affected a good night sleep.
Pros: The owner was on hand to welcome us and he was very friendly. The location is next to a train station but we did not hear any trains. The rooms are beautifully decorated and each have their own bathroom.
Cons: That we did not have time to try the restaurant.
Pros: A basic but clean and compact room for an overnight stay. Restaurant at property for evening meal. Friendly staff who helped with our limited understanding of German! Helpful advice about the best route to the ferry.
Cons: Not being able to check in until 6 pm, meant waiting around for two hours, after a long journey through France. Run down local shopping area. Further from the main auto route to Calais than we thought.

Pros: Very happy with the room facilities however the room was very noisy. The owners were very hospitable and a pleasure to deal with. The evening meals were fabulous so we didn't need to go searching for other dinner options. Parking is in the street out front but no problems with getting a park. We would stay here again but would try to get a quieter room.
Cons: Noisy until the truck traffic stopped.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent
Pros: The couple who run the hotel are really nice. They greeted us like old friends and cooked very nice food. The price was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. Our dogs were more than welcome. If ever we are travelling in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

Pros: The mix of traditional French style with modern facilities

Pros: Beware - the beds are so comfortable and the location so tranquil we overslept and missed breakfast!
Pros: Very friendly staff - a little quirky. Good quality decoration.
Cons: Food average and overpriced. Wine ok. Whole stay was overpriced.
Pros: the small town is very pretty and interesting. The architecture of the hotel is lovely and the views stunning. The ground floor rooms really good when you have a dog and they have a little terrace each
Cons: The hotel is rather 'tired; and the outside area not well used or laid out in the summer months. A great shame that on a beautiful summer's evening the only place for dinner & breakfast was inside. We only saw 2 members of staff who were helpful, but a bit grumpy
Pros: Great private parking area.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work. TV did not work. Wifi did not work. When asked if we required breakfast the following morning, we advised that we did, but would like early breakfast, as we had a long driving day. We asked if we could have breakfast at 7.00 am, and was rudely advised that the earliest was 9.00am, so we kindly declined.
