10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable B&B Chalet a short walk from the nearest ski lift. Hosts Alise and Xavier looked after us really well and the large selection of Belgian beers on offer was a bonus! We will definitely be back.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The chalet was newly modernised and run by a friendly family. We stayed in a family room which was a great size. Continental breakfast was unexpected but very nice. There were ski runs running down next to the chalet.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the view clean room lovely food (tartiflette fait maison)
Cons: far from highway (for a one night stop)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a great concept. A family runs a very small hotel with only a few rooms and one big dining table in a cosy living room. Everyone feels right at home in a wonderful location with great views and ski lifts in walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful on all counts: delicious, fresh, local food, great company, warm and generous hospitality. Stupendous location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and very short walk to slopes and ski back
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing very poor avoid
Cons: Everything was poor, supposed to be 5k from Les Gets but owner tells me at the last minute the road has been closed for ages, so 40min drive to get there used a lot of fuel in steep dangerous roads. Avoid
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alice & her family were extremely helpful (getting our ski pass and gear organised, showing us where to go) and friendly. The chalet is beautiful with spectacular views of Mont Blanc and is very close to the slopes. Alice helped us organise a transfer from Geneva airport as well. Would highly recommend for family ski break although would rather keep this gem a secret for ourselves!
Hotel Le Jalouvre - Mont-Saxonnex - Building
2
9.0 Excellent (276 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hotel le Jalouvre sits 500 metres from the ski slopes in Mont Saxonnex. The typical alpine establishment offers free Wi-Fi, fee parking and features a restaurant and bar. The restaurant serves traditional and regional specialties in the dining room or on the terrace. A Continental breakfast buffet is also served each morning on the veranda. All of the rooms are en suite with a bath or shower, flat-screen satellite TV, heated towel rail and hairdryer. Most rooms have a balcony with a mountain view.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant rooms that were rather spacious along with a nice patio made me wish we had more time to spend at the hotel. There's a great outdoor dining area although we didn't experience that during our visit. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
Cons: Just a note that some staff spoke no English. A bit of google translate made that no problem, however. Everyone was quite friendly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Elodie, her husband and the staff were truly amazing. My daughter is a fussy eater and help accommodate this with different foods. The holiday was made so much better thanks to Elodie and for going the “extra mile” to help us.

Pros: Clean and comfortable room with a wonderful view. Water and macarons in the room was a nice touch. Welcoming staff. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. We also took breakfast, we enjoyed the fresh bread, pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. A truly beautiful area, we would like to return and spend more time there.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, comfortable beds, very quiet and overall pleasant
Cons: Nice, beautiful but quite isolated area
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is in a great location 1000m up in the hills. We had a personal emergency during our visit and the staff could not have been more helpful! We only spent one night, but I suspect the area would be worth exploring for longer.

Cons: Nothing to say.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old farmhouse with great views. Great breakfast beautifully presented and very sociable as other guests and our host joined us at the table

9.3 Excellent

Cons: Breakfasts - how long you can eat honey and jam? No meat, no eggs, no milk, no vegs. Every day jam & honey, jam & honey, jam & honey.

Pros: Serene, very friendly staff, spotlessly clean, beautiful location, peaceful place to stay, very cosy, great food and drinks. Handy ski store.

Pros: Split level, great view, warm and clean
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, attentive staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owners were wonderful. So helpful. Our hire car broke down and they helped us work our way through complicated processes in French. They certainly went above and beyond:)

Pros: Good location in the town and handy for access to the Alps resorts. The receptionist was very helpful and showed me where I could go to eat. Room nice and clean and some basic toiletries supplied. Good selection and plenty of breakfast. Lift to all floors.
Cons: The room would benefit from some pictures to make a little more homely as a little stark and clinical. Parking is difficult and would be nearly impossible if the town was busy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room although exceptionally clean was tiny! But otherwise perfect! The beds were so comfortable and the hotel location was fantastic. Perfect for our onward drive to Samoens.
Cons: The room was just small.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great for one or two nights stay. Very clean and easy checkin. Good possibilities for shopping or restaurants next to the hotel. The breakfast was good and the coffee great. Parking is in front of the hotel possible.
Cons: The bad was very clean but for me a little bit to hard. And the main road next to the hotel is frequently used in the morning so if you open your window over night you will hear it.

Pros: Location - perfect! Right next to the gondola to take you up the mountain. Chalet Owner’s - Super friendly and polite, amazing hosts Value - fantastic value for location and authentic France savoie stay!
Cons: Nothing!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is great. Central and very close to the main lifts. The rooms are done up nicely and are in good condition.
Cons: 1. The space in the family room is very tight. There is not very much room to hang up your clothes (enough for maybe 2 of 4 people). Note: if you are coming with luggage, there really isn’t much space to store it anywhere. We had 4 bags, which could hardly fit anywhere. 2. Whilst the owners are very pleasant and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, we experienced one particular event which completely turns us off ever visting again: Check-out is at 11am and check-in is at 5pm. We left our room at 10:30am and stayed in the common area waiting for the taxi to arrive at midday. At 11:30am, my wife and two boys needed to go to the bathroom (just no. 1). We were told that this was not possible as the outside toilet was not functional, and that we had to walk to the main public restrooms by the lift system. We are not sure how the owners felt we would treat the toilet in our now vacant room, but despite the toilet being cleaned for the next guests, we should have been offered the opportunity.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional old wooden chalet, just off the main road, in a quiet location, 50 metres from the gondola and at the foot of the piste that links Morillon 1100 to the main village. Nicely decorated and well maintained. A very short walk to some nice restaurants and a wonderful bakery, Nathalie buys fresh bread and croissants there every morning and serves them with delicious homemade marmalade. 60 metres to the ski hire shop next to the gondola, if you hire there they will store your skis every evening to save carrying them back and forth to your hotel, although you can drop into the chalet from the piste and ski to the gondola easily :) Very comfy bed and a powerful shower to help you relax after a days skiing.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Home-like welcoming environment and lovely open-plan dining area w views of gondola just outside!
Cons: Bedroom a bit dark and cramped but not in it much!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nathalie is very warm welcoming. The room is quiet with the best view. Very close to the ski slopes
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It was very clean and the service was excellent. Close to the ski lift which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Nathalie and Frederic where excellent and the food was great, excellent value for money , rooms spotless and warm , our room was by the exit so people getting ski boots on scuppered any lie in but other than that all good . 2 mins from Gondola and bars(only a couple of them)/supermarket although if you want a bit of night life then probably not for you if you like peace and quiet then it's perfect . Nathalie is lovely and so helpful as a host she is always on hand and prepared local dishes which all have a story to them or some history . All in all a quiet resort if you have a rented car like we did and it's only 1 hr from Geneva you can get to Samoens which is lovely and break up the fact there's not much to do in Morillon. But the price is right for some so ,,,,
Cons: Nothing really you get what you pay for and this exceeded the cost by a mile.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely chalet in a great location for the telecabin Morillon Village. The owner was exceptionally helpful and made the stay very enjoyable.

6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and room was clean
Cons: Room and facilities were basic , shower door did not fit to base so flooded bathroom when you showered . Wardrobe door broken when you tried to open it it got stuck on the floor. Only one plug available to charge phones etc. Breakfast was not included in the price . Paid extra for breakfast which was extremely poor. Only two types of cereal no muesli , cereal was stale . Only fruit available were apples and they had seen better days . We have been touring and this was the 10 hotel we have stayed in and by far the most basic. Compared to all our other accommodation it was not value for money .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice stay and dinner, great breakfast too!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff very clean good breakfast
Cons: Restaurant closed Sunday not advised on web
9.3 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING ! the bed and covers are so warm and cosy, the bathroom is excelent ! As well as the food. But what really made my stay was the staff, from my welcoming to my departure I was accomodated above and beyond the call of duty, really nice, genuine, kind people. It really was a pleasure to stay here.
Cons: The only problem for me was the fact I did not have my own transport and the local transport is scarce which means a strict routine of times will be needed if you do not have your own way to get around, other than that this place was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightfully personal décor. Very friendly, clear and yet adaptable service. Would definitely stay again.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property and hospitality were lovely, a real French home in the Alpes located within the centre of Les Carroz, with on-site parking close to the free ski bus stop and village amenities. My family and I had a great time at La Bergerie. The breakfast was absolutely great, and the hospitality of our host Claude and Pauline was first class where they helped us greatly.
Cons: For us, everything was good, La Bergerie was very welcoming and we had great skiing, the Grand Massif is fabulous, and we had great weather, so no negatives!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts, Claude and Pauline, were delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Offering advice and assistance in booking restaurants etc. and where to visit. Family Room was excellent.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, very comfortable room and bed. Hosts very friendly. Ski bus outside the accommodation
Cons: Breakfast could be improved on and maybe a little more selection including some eggs? Skiing does require a good start to the day. What was on offer was adequate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good range of choices at breakfast.
Cons: Breakfast room a bit tired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claude took so much effort to help us. I could not expect more from a host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Claude and Pauline were excellent hosts. Breakfast with other guests was really enjoyable
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is very good. Hosts are professional and always willing to help, throughout. They make an effort to learn about and befriend the visitors, which many would appreciate.
Cons: Breakfast is basic. But especially didn't feel at ease with little kids, who by nature are curious about the world while hosts get anxious about every little detail, fastidious in that sense. Another note, do not expect a common/ shared space with basic kitchenette: rules are strict with regards to that, no preparing your own food, not even eating a ready made meal. while this could be ok for a couple wishing to go out every night, it makes less sense for a family with kids.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect the ski bus picked up outside the property and the hosts were lovely & helpful. There are some lovely bars & restaurants in the town a beautiful town highly recommended and we had some great weather with fantastic skiing.
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts. Warm and inviting. Felt like friends although we had only just met them. Extremely accommodating. Made suggestions for evening meals and booked them on our behalf. Great having breakfast all together with our hosts and other guests - we really enjoyable the sociability and camaraderie. Free ski bus on doorstep.
Cons: Hard to fault.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The restaurant and cleaning staff were superb and very helpful. The Romanian waiter was especially friendly and helped us choose great dishes as our French is pretty rusty.
Cons: The reception staff (Blonde lady) was beyond useless. I'd emailed and asked several times about transport to and from the resort. She insisted that a taxi from Denis Rouge was the only way. There was almost no snow for the 3 days we were there, so skiing was too difficult. We felt trapped, there was nothing else to do in the area and went and asked her again for suggestions. We said we'd even walk. Then she said it's about an hour and a half walk to the next town but too dangerous. So we decided it was time to go so walked down to the little tourist office again to check for busses and if necessary a taxi to Geneva airport. Turns out there was a bus going to and from neighbouring villages 5 times a day. We really missed out on using this facility as we now now after checking out that we spent an extra €680 for food and drinks at Chalet Vaccapark restaurant that we might have spent at other places and seen more if we had been told. But this woman was adamant there was no bus. I'm disgusted. Also, there are no ATMs anywhere for miles, it because an issue when we had to almost beg for €1.50 each for the bus out of the resort. Luckily one lady let us pay extra for a drink and gave us the coins for the bus. Then from Mieussy we arranged a taxi to bring us the rest of the way. Saving us $50 for finally finding out about the bus. Also, we were offered the little continental breakfast each day. It we pretty basic so we were then very surprised to be charged €24 per day extra, for some self serve coffee, pastries, bread, cold ham and salami and not much else. Also, one main reason we booked this place was for the pool, jaccuzi and sauna. The pool was freezing, the sauna was broken and they refused to heat the Jacuzzi until after 4:15pm daily. This trip was very disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is great
Cons: Nothing- all good
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to slopes was fantastic
Cons: WiFi could be better, frankly it was poor. This would hugely improve the place given that it is a hotel at the bottom of the slopes with nothing to do in the evening.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food and wine list, worthy of a proper accolade, very nice service, comfortable room, lots of amenities and great surroundings. It was quiet yet nicely attended. I would happily recommend it.
Cons: There was a lot of noise coming from the laundry room, apparently above my room and, although it was not late (late afternoon to early evening 8ish), I was trying to work while very tired and it was not great. When I mentioned it, the manager laughed it off... No big deal and it was truly the only reservation I have about the whole stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the most wonderful hotels you will ever stay in. Armelle is amazing - she does everything possible to make your stay fantastic. The food is outstanding and all the staff brilliant. We will be back!!
Cons: Loved everything!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean, comfortable and big enough. A big plus to the Nespresso machine, floor heating in the shower and the jacuzzi.
Cons: The access from the rooms to the main building or equipment room crosses a ski slope, and the way to and from the slope is terribly sleepery and dangerous. but with a little effort they could path it or take of the ice so you could easily going up to the slope and down and not afraid of breaking a leg. Secound, for such an expensive hotel I would expect working wifi in the room, and not telling me while asking why its not working- it just doesn't work. If its not- fix it!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional - nothing was too much trouble for them, including carrying all of our luggage across the ski slope to the hotel on our day of checkout whilst we were out enjoying the sun and snow. The restaurant was so good that we ate there 3 out of 4 nights & the location was excellent - a true ski in/ski out hotel.
Cons: An indoor sitting area for guests would be nice, but it made no real difference to our enjoyment of the hotel so we really couldn't fault it.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Located at the bottom of the ski slopes allowing you to ski to the door. Very good restaurant. Old style wooden chalet property.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit of a squeeze but adequate and clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing, local bakery lovely, ski hire very convenient and helpful. Clean and warm, excellent hotel.
Cons: Boot room could have been heated for longer times, found some items still wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for skiing and then walking into town where the bars and restaurants were in the evening
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Ski in/ski out - great location, no need for a car. Friendly and helpful staff. Large ski/boot room with boot warmers. Although breakfast was pricey (€14) you can eat all you want & therefore maybe skip lunch! Twin bedroom was roomy enough, and the right temperature once we'd turned it down from the maximum! Main meals were as good as most other places we ate at in Les Carroz. They all seemed expensive but that's probably more to do with the current value of the £, and a bit about being a ski resort.
Cons: There were only 6 hangers for a large wardrobe - had to store my clothes under the bed. The shower could have done with a scrub in the corners & the toilet was VERY odd (but functioned fine).
7.0 Good
Pros: The location right at the slope is great. Staff is very friendly. Parking (outdoor) in front of the hotel is good. Ski locker is on site.
Cons: The shower cabin that also includes the toilet is very inconvenient. Everything gets wet and water drips on the carpet of the room. Flushing the toilet made a lot of noise. Talking about noise, the hotel is quite old so you hear the tv or flushing a toilet in other rooms, the stairs, everything. We could not always cut the heating, so room was very warm.
6.8 Good
Pros: !
Cons: Bathroom /toilet needs improving. Very basic and not really working properly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Rooms were a little small and not well sound proofed
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location to slopes and ski hire, brilliant. Breakfast ok and friendly lady in morning unlike the lady who seemed to be around in the evening. Home made pain au chocolate! Clean bed at least.
Cons: Bathroom extremely basic, shower was useless - more like camping. Very small room but reasonably clean. Need new pillows with more padding. One particular member of staff very unwelcoming and unhelpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and eve meals . Fab location and such friendly helpful hosts !
5.5 Okay
Pros: Hotel was in a good location with free parking on site. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The awful ensuite bathroom was a joke. Plastic moulded wet room which was way too small and noisy. We could also here guests above us and next door as if there was no insulation. A sub standard conversion from what was probably once a private chalet.

Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: The English receptionist could not do enough to help us with our car charging dilemma! Absolutely lovely.
Cons: French Receptionist rude! In morning walking through tiny lobby she did not acknowledge our existence. Walked through several times just to test out her ignorance..... Car charging did not work with our Tesla
5.5 Okay
Pros: Room was very nice
Cons: Breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: Working air con
Cons: Building works at front of hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Easy to find. On-site parking. Amenities close by. 30 mins from Les Gets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely facilities
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed for one night en route driving to Italy, property is 5 minutes off the freeway. Arrived very late and late checkin instructions were clear, beds were made and everything was clean and comfortable. We were in the family room with bunk beds for the kids. Property is in a very pretty location. Would also recommend for longer stays. We also found a wonderful drive-in boulangerie on the way back to the freeway, I don’t remember the name, it’s a very large boulangerie, with absolutely wonderful breads, croissants, coffee etc.
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean room and comfortable bed
Cons: Building work going on so bar was closed, and restaurant was full, staff not very accommodating
7.5 Good
Pros: useful for those travelling onto Italy due to proximity to motorway. Its quite expensive for what it is - but convenient and 5 mins from motorway. Quiet safe location and clean.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Modern, clean
Cons: Erratic, not enough staff, no where to eat, restaurant full, advised to go to local pizzeria which was closed, ended up with greasy kebab as only option. Asked to sit in ‘lounge’ to take a drink (more like a small cupboard) had to cut trip short due to lack of facilities (ie nowhere to eat) and told that I would only be charged taxes, then full payment charged.

Pros: Very helpful staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was just what we need. It was comfortable with enough space for 6 people. The ski area was great. Shuttle bus to the ski just off the hotel.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The apartment was spacious. The resort is in a great location. The entertainment services provided seemed great (we didn't use them ourselves), plenty of activities for the children and grown ups to do organised by a very energetic team. There is a swimming pool with slides right opposite to it at very affordable prices and an adventure course (like go ape) a few steps away! Lots of lovely walks for all levels as well and rafting on a Wednesday is organised at a cost for those over 12!
Cons: The apartment wasn't particularly clean. It wasn't clear when we booked that we would have had to carry out the cleaning ourselves at the end of the stay. The restaurant needs to widen the selection and increase the quality of the food.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, entertainment
Cons: Apartment very dated in need of proper modernisation. Toilet was awful (smell impossible to get rid of)
6.8 Good
Pros: Close to bus stop, really nice staff
Cons: The apartment itself: curtains hanging off the rails, unpleasant smell, cold rooms, no carpet or rug making it feel uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice and comfortable apartment, quiet (we came off-season though), friendly staff. Good value for a week-end in the mountains.
Cons: For short stays like ours (2 nights), it would be nice to have an option with cleaning included.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of space unlike a lot of ski properties which are extremely small.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, easy access to the free ski bus. Free parking available in designated car parks. Free ski lockers and free fast wifi which we could access from our room. Entertainment program is in french as most guests are french speakers (which is fair enough). We did not eat here as we eat out or made meals ourselves in the apartment. Just a note there is no kettle (i think these can be hired from reception). Staff on reception very friendly and helpful. Les Carroz is a very pretty village with good choice of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. You can use the free ski bus to get into the village or walk which takes about 10 minutes to the center. I would recommend the apartments if you are looking for a good standard/3 star accommodation.
Cons: Balcony had nice views of mountains but we did also overlook the kitchen area with the sound of air-conditioning equipment. Some apartments have better views than others so worth asking in advance. Generally speaking though the layout of the site is very nice with good natural landscaping.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The weather they provided was perfect;-)
Cons: No smoke alarms in apartment.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good vibe. Staff was friendly. Location good. We had an outdated apartment with no view. Connecting apartment with nextdoors very noisy and from corridors as well. Kids entertainment is very good though. General areas quite outdated. Breakfast is OK For 8 euro’s but dinner not recommended. Nice outdoor areas and kids clubs are good.

Cons: Room was very dingy. May have been clean but too dingy to tell. Overall feel of the room was cramped even for just one person. Pool was very small. Too expensive for what was on offer.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent disabled bathroom
Cons: Room 002 not much room to get around bed. Could do with two chairs for guests as sofa is much too low for disabled person to sit on
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for coming back thru the alps
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location just off the motorway and very easy find. Clean and well kept. Needs a little freshening up with the decor
Cons: We arrived late just after 10 on a Saturday everything close looked closed and the bar in the hotel closed at 10. We knew this before we arrived but had no tea of coffee in the room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location just off the A26 Ease of parking. Nice rooms and restaurant. Nice little town with just a few shops for essentials. Short drive to bigger shops and fast food restaurants.
Cons: Couldn’t book a family room for 4. Had to make do with two separate rooms for a family of 4 and the extra expense.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked warm welcome, location and quality of the bed
Cons: service in the restaurant

Pros: Handy location, compact area but had everything needed for a stay. Ski Bus stop only a few minutes away and spar was only 5 mins walk. Great new & clean bathroom.
Cons: Could do with some extra dishes, plates etc
5.5 Okay
Pros: Adequate space. Good heating.nice owner.
Cons: Very noisy . All rooms had thin walls and noise from floor above. Very short on cutlery. Was more expensive than other similar accommodation but was not higher quality.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners. Good value for money.
Cons: A bit more kitchen utensils, such as more cutlery and large spoons etc. would have been handy.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Fine as a base, near to the local Spar and petrol station. Short drive to the ski lifts. Bus stops at the end of the road if you don't have a car.
Cons: This used to be a hotel / bar. It is disappointing that this is closed down, as there are no restaurants or bars nearby (you have to go into Les Carroz). Also the room had no tea/coffee making facilities or fridge, so purely just a room with ensue facilities.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room spacious and very clean with everything we needed. We were a bit disappointed there was no restaurant on-site or nearby, but it was only a short walk to the village (15 mins) and we were able to get a bus there from the end of the road. There was a micro-kitchen with kettle microwave, glasses, crockery and cutlery in a cupboard which meant we could breakfast in the room.
Cons: Pillows were very uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good room, with space enough. Comfortable bed. Nice owner. Microwave working fine (also kitchen, but didn't test it). Good wifi. Nice landscape around. Very quiet at night.
Cons: You have to go through a long mountain road before reaching any motorway.
