Pros: It was a nice place to stay , calm and peaceful ... Charming
Pros: Very good accommodation in an excellent cabin. The outside deck was great, we spent a lot of time here. The pool was lovely, loads of sun lounges. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Double bedroom was a little small, mostly because the bed was so large!
Situated between the sea and countryside, Les Chambres d'hôtes Oze is just a 10-minute drive from the beaches in Brétignolles-sur-Mer. Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is 13 km away and the Brem-sur-Mer Marshes are a 10-minute drive from the property. Each room here will provide you with a terrace and there is also an electric kettle for making hot drinks. Featuring a shower, the private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer. You can enjoy garden views from the room. At Les Chambres d'hôtes Oze you will find a garden and the property offers free parking. Guests can go walking around the Jaunay Lake, 5 km away or in the Olonne-sur-Mer Forest, 16 km from the accommodation. The owner also offers tours around his sculpture workshop and activities such as surfing, kayaking and kite flying are possible in the area. Nantes Atlantique Airport is 59 km away.
Pros: The location was excellent, set in a beautiful village with easy access to the coast.
Cons: The property advertised that parking was available, what it didn't say was that in July & August there is a weekend craft market & it is incredibly difficult to find parking near the hotel, had we known this in advance we probably wouldn't have booked there.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and view over garden very pretty. Bathroom very good...big shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was cold choices...a croissant each, fresh bread, natural yoghurt. Fresh fruit jams. Good plentiful coffee. Same every day.Breakfast taken in owner/artist studio...some folk may not like lack of privacy. The owner or his partner were very pleasant but as we were the only guests apart from one night it was not ideal. Loved St Gilles
Cons: Nowhere to hang clothes...deep drawers instead. I don't think I had fully appreciated this was not a hotel...So no bar or lounge or reception. I would have had no idea what to do in emergency. Whilst we enjoyed our six nights there, it wasn't like a stay in a hotel. There were no shops near nor was the nearby restaurant open for every day. We had to go out for everything and ended up having cheese and bread and fruit in our room most evenings. (Thank goodness for our picnic set and our supply of books). But these are really just observations of a couple in our 70's
