10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely good value for money for a group of five against a couple of hotel rooms. The gite is large and spacious with everything you need. The hosts are welcoming and the location is excellent - feels like you’re buried deep in the country but the motorway is just a short 15 minute drive away.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host, excellent breakfast! Quiet, very clean, nice garden, close to a small water channel.
Cons: Shared bathroom, but this was really not an issue, there are only 3 rooms. It is a great place for a family with kids. You will feel like at home. And you can enjoy excellent drinks at more than reasonable prices. Local champagne at 13.50...it is a great deal!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Welcoming was lovely and the breakfast was brilliant with local food specialties (To be honest the breakfast was a surprise for us, because by the time we woke up the breakfast was on the table). Thank you.

Pros: The house was beautiful.
Cons: Breakfast was terrible, 1 slice of ham each and quarter of a baguette and 2 small bread buns. The owner wasn't there at the time and asked a friend to welcome us however she only spoke French unfortunately we don't speak French. Apparently this is why we didn't get a proper Breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the host to the house, beds, bread delivered fresh in the morning One of the best places I’ve stayed
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess is incredible, so warm, nice and generous! Couldn’t get better! Generous and delicious breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms. Everything is just perfect or even better!
7.5 Good
Pros: The owner is very friendly and means well. The suite was spacy and comfy. Breakfast was nice: bread, croissant, home made jam and honey, corn flakes, grapes, cheese, coffee, tea and juice. Location: in a town without shops or restaurants. You have to drive about 7 kilometers to the nearest town. We received a small bottle of champagne when we left. Free parking space on the property. The rate of 110 euros for a night with breakfast (2 adults and 2 children), without aircon is rather pricy.
Cons: Unfortunately, when we stayed it was exeptionaly very hot. Without airconditioning it takes a while before you fall asleep. We woke up several times during the night. The owner appologized.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic host, couldn't do enough for us even though we could only communicate through a combination of broken French and broken English. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: There was no fan or air con so the room was extremely hot during the heatwave.

Pros: Beautiful accommodation & kept spotlessly clean. Nice continental breakfast in the lovely quirky shop/cafe.
Cons: Disappointing service in nearby restaurant. Despite booking a table for 8 pm, they didn't seat us until 9 pm and we were the last table to be served. Felt like we were being made to suffer because of the 52%. Have resolved to wear a "it wasn't us" badge next year.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Croissants were excellent
Cons: No restaurant in the evenings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor and ambiance, exactly as pictures portrayed in photos. Large comfy bed, like a big marshmallow, but not too soft as first expected. Good bedding, sheets and blankets so could adapt to warmth needed rather than a quilt. Good breakfast and great croissants, you can even have Champagne!! Dogs are not a problem they can even make friends with the resident west highland terrier, at breakfast.
Cons: Just found the sisal flooring a little hard on bare feet.

Pros: Very welcoming and helpful hosts. The gite is set in a very peaceful area. Restaurants are available within 15-20min drive. Brilliant spot to rest during long driving journey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brigitte was the most wonderful host, friendly, funny, helpful and generous with her time. The house is homely with great traditionally furnished rooms and clean bathrooms in the hallway. The property is on the outskirts of a small village with few amenities and close to many of the WW1 memorial and battle sites. Brigitte herself is a battlefield guide so contact her before your stay if you’d like your relatives military history researching. I rarely rate the places we stay but we felt so welcome here and the house and garden were so lovely that I felt compelled to do so. Thank you Brigitte.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were clean and comfortable, great kitchen facilities
Cons: As a family purchasing breakfast wasn't value for money , I was expecting freshly bought croissants and bread, not stuff I could of easily bought myself for less
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the third time we have stayed here, on route to the south of France. It makes a perfect stopover point in such a tranquil setting after all the motorway driving. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. The gite/B&B is very well equipped so that if you are just doing a one night stay, you still have use of a kitchen too. Although the bathrooms are not ensuite, we don't have a problem with that, and twice we have been the only people in the property. We will be using this gite again when we travel in that direction.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners make decorative artificial flowers for haute couture and we enjoyed a two hour conducted tour of their set up, They also speak fluent English.
Cons: Couldn't fault it! The place is in the countryside about 15 minutes drive from restaurants in Chaumont. There was a shred toilet on the landing, but this was not really a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place to stay. We received a friendly welcome and an offer of a tour of the flower-making area in the water mill. We asked if we could do this in the morning just before we left, and it was fascinating. (This was kindly given in English). Our room (3 single beds) was spacious and very clean. We had our own shower and wash basin, with use of a shared toilet just along the landing. We brought our own food, and ate at a table outside, enjoying the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge after a long drive, and before continuing our journey. Thank you! Merci beaucoup!

Perfect overnight stop for our journey back from Zurich to England. No restaurants in Orges, but plenty in the nearby town of Chaumont (17km) which was worth a visit just to see the viaduct

Pros: A lovely hotel with a great feel to it. Swimming pool a bonus and restaurant on site where we enjoyed a lovely meal. Room clean and very comfortable.
Cons: Room got a little hot and stuffy at night as we had a room with patio doors (no windows or air conditioning) so couldn’t open them at night .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cleaniness ...spotless
Cons: Waitress with short hair at dinner time very aggressive, she could have been more polite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool, food at restaurant , close to Champagne cave.
Cons: Expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: Very poor . A bowl of Rotten Fruit on the buffet table which was cramped and badly laid out . 1 croissant. We have been coming here 4 times a year for over 5years and it is so sad that the high standards have fallen so low . The breakfasts were always a great highlight in a room that was a delight, Dinner was equally awful . The staff were rushed and unfriendly. The steaks we ordered were stone cold and bone dry. We left 70 % of the food . The wine which we have been drinking for all the years we have been coming here was the only thing that kept up the old standards . Very depressing
Cons: See what we did like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love that it is rural yet very accessible to the autoroute. We stay here every year. The rooms are fairly basic but they are always clean and the beds are comfortable. There is ample parking close to the rooms. The restaurant is brilliant, very popular with locals so I always book a table on the terrace at the same time as booking the room. Nice bar with lovely staff, all very helpful.
Cons: There really is nothing to dislike. The bathrooms are not luxurious but clean and functional.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the very ”frenchness” of this lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant had a very good buzz even On a Sundays evening. A bonus for us to find an hotel open for dinner on that evening in France. Parking was easy outside at the front of the premises and the room was spacious and equipped with a massive shower room en suite.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this hotel as the first stop on our 17 day holiday with 2 other couples. We were due to arrive early evening however as the traffic in Belgium did not play out well we were much later and therefore our stay was brief. We were welcomed warmly, table for dinner amended for our late start, pre-dinner drinks outside and then dinner. What an amazing meal - you can tell that the restaurant has a good reputation when there are locals dining there too. I choose the meat and cheese platter with an included glass of chilled champagne followed by an amazing fillet steak that I still talking about. Great service and there is nothing more impressive than eating fantastic food outside at that time of night. Off to bed in a lovely well appointed room, with some outside space if you needed with a small table and 2 chairs in a shared garden. Large bathroom, power shower and complimentary toiletries if needed. Good nights sleep and then off for breakfast. Simple fare here and perhaps the smallest choice of our holiday but enough to satisfy us and we were off. Would recommend and would stay again.

6.7 Good
Pros: The accomodation was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, bedding and towels were supplied, staff were friendly.
Cons: The accomodation was tiny, smaller than it looks in the photographs and very stuffy. It is designed to look like a wine vat or beer barrel, and tiny flakes of wood dropped onto the bed and into the shower tray. It is not suitable to travel there with a dog as the space is so small . Our dog doesn’t the night in our bed because of this. The are outside the “barrel” was covered in weeds and undergrowth which also poked through the tiny decked area. The whole campsite had an unkempt and poorly maintained feel to it, in complete contrast to all the other campsites we have stayed on. For the two of us and the dog, it was 89 euros, and poor value for money. We wouldn’t stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very child friendly. For our 2 grandchildren, 4 and 7, it was great fun with bicycles, trikes, trampoline, play areas and swimming pool all free. The accommodation is in the theme of children's nursery rhymes and very interesting designs. There were a range of animals in different settings across the site.

Cons: Nothing!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was very good. Lovely to sit by river. Pool was most welcome and great for private parking.
Cons: Thought our rooms on both occasions were a bit tired and needed an update but facilities were fine. Would prefer a separate shower as bath can be slippy. None of this would stop us coming back. Overall we loved the place.

Cons: Access to the swimming pool... having to walk through the reception not ideal

Pros: Friendly staff, interesting old mill workings, good bedroom, bathroom toiletries, etc, excellent dinner. Spa facilities and swimming pool if wanted.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was very comfortable, the setting is lovely next to a stream. The wine list is comprehensive and the quality high. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of fresh foods.
Cons: On arrival the person at reception was on the phone, carried on a five minute conversation with another customer. We were not acknowledged or made welcome. The evening meal was bland. The balance wasn’t right - colourless and too much salad.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The food quality is very good, the restaurant rooms are spacious and entertaining, great space to be in with beautiful outlook onto the mill race and machinery.
Cons: The bathroom needs a new shower hose, the floor tiling needs grouting, underside of WC seat needs a clean, bedroom carpet requires a good shampooing, balcony ashtray ditto.

Cons: Fantastic hotel but the road noise was so disruptive only had 3 hrs sleep.
4.2 Okay
Pros: small room, 1960s decoration worthy of a youth hostel, no cachet whatever, totally overpriced
Cons: rooms should have been larger, better decoration
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is a nice simple hotel with good food, perfect for a passing traveller.
Cons: The room while clean and comfortable was rather dated in styling. The stairs to the first floor are quite steep and might discourage some visitors.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was excellent. Good choice on the menu, including rognons de veau (outstanding). Nice house wine, with choice, all very reasonably priced.
Cons: Nothing was bad. Should have thought to ask for twin beds though, my fault!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a great one nighter from our Spanish base to Calais
Cons: The weather was awful and the room took a long while to heat up. The main part of the building bar and restaurant could have been more effectively heated. We missed the patron . The staff were adequate but not exactly over warm and friendly. Gin selection a disaster this year we didn’t feel welcome and we’re treated as just another place to stay. Adequate great wine menu but nobody really there to guide you . Mire could have been done to make you feel cosy and welcome
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome. Clean, tidy attractive hotel with outside bar area. Good restaurant. A very nice place to stay in Southern Champagne Region returning to UK via Calais.
Cons: Nothing not to like.

Pros: Breakfast was very good and dinner at the restaurant nice. Location was quiet and room looked out onto a green valley. Owner was helpful with info via email to help us as we arrived late. She was also positive in resolving a bill payment issue.
Cons: Room and décor were a little dated. Bathroom had a strange smell (like a wet dog).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful with a really nice restaurant terrace. The dinner I had was good and staff are friendly. The owner is super helpful and considerate - due to changed travel plans we decided to check out a day early and she adjusted out booking. A great stay and recommendation for anyone exploring the region!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: food was great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wanted a stop at a half-way point on the long haul between Provence and home; Arsonval is a dead village, like many others on the main [Champagne route] road to Bar-sur-Aube (worth a visit), but the hotel provided exactly what we needed after a tough drive in busy conditions. Quiet room facing fields/river on the back of the property, perfect for us & the dog. Excellent menu choices and wide range of local champagnes. Eclectic selection of guests (those with kids visiting nearby Nigloland, together with those on the champagne tours), made it a full house for dinner. Buffet breakfast looked good, but we needed to press on.
Cons: Noisy kids running around without adequate parenting; not the hotel's fault.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I asked for a ground floor room to accommodate my husband's needs and we were given a suitably situated room and also a walk in shower as they thought this would be appropriate. The evening meal was, as expected, excellent.
Cons: Considering value for money, I don't think anything needs to be changed. This is a small friendly family run hotel and restaurant so I do not expect luxury.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable rooms, dog friendly, excellent food and wine. Good value
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room, excellent dinner and breakfast, friendly staff. We have stayed here three times, and will definitely return. Nearby town Bar-sur-Aube is very pleasant, and Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises is worth a visit.
Cons: It was all great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rural location, superb restaurant with very good service.
Cons: The weather ??

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room and dinner was perfect
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service, excellent breakfast, very comfortable room (despite the flies and poor view), good food and service in the restaurant (the Michelin star was why we chose to stay there on our drive back from London to Geneva). Really lovely rolling countryside and a delight to be in Champagne just as the wine harvest began.
Cons: The view from the bedroom was really poor (outlook on to the gravel undercroft beneath the kitchen and the empty wine bottle store); the bathroom looked very nice but the roll-top bath with hand shower and no curtain was not practical. Lots of flies in the room. The tour de champignons menu was not the tour we'd expected (dominated mostly by chanterelles) and the replacement dish for the first course and the dessert were rather disappointing. Discovered a wonderful new champagne in the restaurant (but at more than three times its retail price - we bought some from the cave in Colombe le Sec the next morning).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and well equipped room. Excellent food but fixed price menu on Sunday evening was expensive
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food
Cons: Noises of restaurant above our room
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant excellent
Cons: Booking .Com rate was 20 euros more than the hotel rate.
6.7 Good
Pros: The dinner was beautifully prepared and delicious. The breakfasts were reasonable but choice of fresh fruit was limited and the orange juice was pasteurised and not freshly squeezed. The dining room was smart and there was an attractive terrace on which to eat and drink in fine weather.
Cons: Our bedroom. It was spacious and had probably been repainted in recent years. But the small bedroom window looked out on a covered area about 20 feet in depth where one could park one's car and only beyond this "garage" area could one catch a glimpse of sunlight and the countryside. Result - a very dark bedroom where it was necessary to use the electric light all the time. The w.c., opening off the bedroom did have a porthole window but the bathroom itself had no window and was equipped with old fitments e.g. a bath with legs and very high sides from which older people would have difficulty in getting out. Drawbacks probably reflected in the relatively modest price of the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, rural in an attractive village. Breakfast was average. The food, wine and service were all excellent. The rooms were comfortable with good sized beds.
Cons: The welcome on arrival was poor. There was a notable lack of a 'mine host' and there were no flowers of any description. Very poor Wi-fi connection.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After the TGV got cancelled we decided to drive to Paris. It turned out to be further than expected and we had to find a place to stay. We arrived late. The room was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and asked if we would like to eat a little in their Michelin star restaurant. It was excellent.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Locality not bad
Cons: Stayed here 15 years ago when it was newly refitted... Nothing spent on it since... Hotel had a bad smell, our bathroom sealant was rank and the AIR-Con USELESS
6.3 Good
Pros: Lovely building in a lovely french village. Refurbed nice clean bathroom.
Cons: Advertised as having free parking, no parking at all, street parking only, however nice safe area. Hotel describes itself as a smoke free property, group of foreign people smoking shouting and playing loud music at both 2.30 am and then again at breakfast time.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Pool area was ok and one of our rooms was of a good size
Cons: Dated property with rooms that are in desperate need of renovation.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean. Nice quiet location. Pleasant staff. Very good breakfast which was included with my booking.
Cons: WIFI quit working. No hot water in the morning. I was given a discount on my bill because of this.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was so varied.
Cons: Not all rooms had a fan as the air conditioning didn’t work.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room is very nice. Cozy. Space is enough for three people. Everything of good taste. Stuff friendly. Very nice stay.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient. Reasonable restaurant.
Cons: Only window in room was a velox skylight affording no view so rather claustrophobic.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Small Beds, Very Cold rooms, No heating, no hot water & Staff did not speak English. Nobody was at the reception at late checkin had to call few times to get the door opened :(
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location and helpful reception. Pleasant restaurant.
Cons: The room was a little ‘tired’
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean hotel in good setting
Cons: We arrived around 3pm hotel was locked with a notice stating that due to the grape picking season starting, there would be no restaurant (dinner) facilities available to guests. We discovered that over 100 grape pickers were staying and eating in the hotel - hence no facilities for other guests! An advance warning of this would have been nice as we were travelling with a dog and only stay in hotels billed as dog friendly. With notice, we could have made other arrangements. They let us down badly. Bedroom was on the small side on this occasion with only a 3/4 size bed.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Always great stay excellent value
7.5 Good
Pros: The main asset is its location close to the autoroute. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I was pleased to see the 1939 BSA motorcycle displayed in the lounge.
Cons: The restaurant had a limited choice of food and other venues were not available locally, however it was OK for a stop over. We were on the 2nd floor and the flights of stairs were fairly steep, if you are infirm this may be a problem.
6.3 Good
Pros: The menu de jour was inexpensive and delicious. There was a well kept enclosed garden for children to play and a covered enclosed terrace to eat outside. Basic hotel but not far from motorway for stopover.
Cons: The breakfast was basic
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location and good value
Cons: My food at dinner was disappointing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect for mid-France stop over traveling up autoroute
Cons: noisy road
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Decent food. Lovely area for a motorway stopover.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: It was very handy for the A31 only a few minutes drive away
Cons: There was not a lot to dislike
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic for an overnight spot. The rooms were great, used the family room, actually 2 adjacent rooms each with their own bathroom - very handy in the morning!
Cons: Not every bath had a plug, the beds weren't the most comfortable. Also, we could hear clearly the guest in the room above moving round the room at 6am, waking us earlier than we'd have liked.
7.5 Good
Pros: We have visited this hotel a number of times as a stop over for the night. The hotel is full of character and the outside area is lovely to sit out and have a drink after a long drive. The food served at the restaurant is always amazing which is also reasonably priced too. Staff are very helpful and the service at the restaurant was fab.
Cons: The bedroom was very hot at night. There were electric fans in the room but they didnt help that much and unfortunately this made it difficult to have a good nights sleep!
7.1 Good
Pros: Restaurant meal was excellent, and the staff friendly.
Cons: The room was a bit basic on the 2nd floor ( maybe because my dog was with me?)
