good location for city with most things within walking distance. Alhambra bus just a few min walk away. room good but air con did not work well and had to leave windows open at night which then caused a problem with noise.
Friendly and helpful reception. Breakfast rates much too high, so that we had breakfast outside.
Beautifully located in a lovely square, very nice spacious foyer. None that I could see.
Very poor understanding of other than spanish garage too small for our medium car
Good service and a great value!
the room was big, comfortable, good air condition, silent, good location of the hotel, helpful staff.
Reception desk was very pleasant and helpful throughout the stay. Location was convenient to center of town and walking around the village areas. 10 min. cab to Alhambra and to watch Flamengo in the "cave". Lovely restaurant attached to the hotel.
Good location, nice room, in bright colors, very kind and helpful staff. The carpet was not clean (no vacuum), the room a bit dusty, but the bathroom and beds were proper.
Salvatore, at front desk, went far above and beyond with his hospitality and helpful information. Great attitude
Located within a few blocks of the center of the city, this beautiful hotel is a prize. Friendly multi-lingual staff; comfortable, clean, modern rooms; roof top bar -- what is there not to like? Really enjoyed ourselves.
Beautiful hotel and fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff. We had a corner room on the second floor which was very nice, but had a strange open layout with the toilet being virtually inside the bedroom - bit of an awkward room design.
The free wifi, the remaining of the 16 centuries underground in the entrance of the hotel, near to Alhamra 10 min by taxi, the old & new shopping stores No dry clean service, the bathroom aparts no privacy, and there is smell in the bathroom
Fantastic, impeccable and beyond reproach. This was, in summary the perfect escapade for Granada I feel; and my wife echoes my comments too. Staff were most helpful and jolly; and it had a most magnificent night view of the Catedral and Alhambra. Also, within walking distance to most shopping areas and bazaars. NONE!
This is a very comfortable city-centre hotel, well designed, with friendly, helpful staff, and a nice spa.
The reception staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing plenty of suggestions for eating and exploring. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The location is by far the best aspect of this hotel as it is only a block from the Cathedral (where you can catch a bus to the Alhambra) and the Albaycin and about 3 blocks from Puerta Nueva. The more backpacker style tapas bars are right next door on Calle Elivira, although people may need to go a bit further afield if they are looking for a more refined experience.
Front staff was very helpful. The room is of Modern Design, but in some way not convenient.
The hotel staff were outstanding. They were quick to help and set a high quality of service. In the spa, there were a few minor things that needed work. One of the features didn't function and there was some part that looked in need of a bit of repair. ...and lastly the lighting... it seemed like there was a light that was. These are minor points though, I really enjoyed the spa.
Location Noise from traffic
The staff were superb, especially the lovely Salvador! The location can't be beaten, the standard of fixtures and fittings is very high and there is some flair to the design. The rooms are not suitable as twin rooms - a twin room merely comprises a king sized bed made up as two singles, not separated at all and there is no door to separate the bathroom, merely doors on the toilet and shower cubicles. So the rooms are only recommended for singles or very close couples!
Good location within walking distance of most major attractions. The air conditioning in the rooms only works from May - sometime in the fall. So even though it was 30 degrees C outside in April, the rooms couldn't be cooled off without opening the windows. However the street noise makes it difficult to sleep with the windows open. Hotel mgmt said there was nothing they could do about this. We were told "it's winter....". I just find it strange that the lobby was air conditioned & cool, but the rooms couldn't be. Also if you're bringing a car please note the parking garage is a very tight fit.
Courteous reception staff, clean room and comfortable bed. There is not anything I dislike about the hotel
Within walking distance of railway station. Free wifi in lobby. Not expensive. Long walk from the attractions of Granada
Friendly and helpfull personal, Nice and quite rooms,
V friendly staff and rooms comfortable and v clean. the restaurant seemed overpriced and did not cater much for kids to eat, only alternative was a cafeteria and smoking was permitted which made it unpleasant. Bathrooms are looking a bit dated and not in the greatest of shape.
It was very easy to get to from the motorway and had (essential) car parking - though at a cost. It was some distance to The Alhambra but this was balanced by the quality of the hotel and the situation. It also had a very good cafeteria for drinks, breakfast and snacks.
It was colocated with Hetz car rentals so we could return our hir car to the hotel rather than spend hours trying to find the drop off poiint - although i9t did take us 2 and a half hours to get to our hotel from when we arrived in Granada following the instructions on the booking.com website which were incorrect!!! Location was not central as advertised by the Hotel
Friendly staff, good facilities and very efficient. Excellent restaurant - try the ensalada tropicana. The underground garage is a nightmare - difficult to find, nowhere to stop, narrow chicane into the depths of the earth.
Staff were very nice and helpful. Hotel has a nice feel, very clean and quite. Good location as well Parking was 14Euros per night but didn't tell me until i paid the bill. I would have asked for a deal as i was staying for 5 nights.
The location is near to the centre There is no fitness, swimming pool
excellent value and breakfast
Very nice, modern and comfortable hotel, good location, only 10 to 15 mins walk to city centre. rooms a good size and quiet. managed to park in the street very close to the hotel, a plus. reception staff helpful and friendly. Everything was perfect.
the pool, service a bit far from the center core of town, when walking
Good interior at reception area. GPS can't guide the hotel.
Wonderful swimming pool Expensive parking
Good value for money. Standard city hotel room - clean and functional. Location good for city visits - maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. Taxis to the Alhambra are about EU 8-10. Snack bar does good (but expensive) food.
Good and confortable place; clean and well placed. The staff freindly and helpful. I will come back and I recommend it. No complaints.
Everything!! It is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Nothing!!
The atmosphere and the service at the bar. The breakfast buffet was not especially good.
The price was really good for a room with a bathroom, and the central location. The staff didn't even want to call a taxi for us, although we needed it urgently. They sent us to the taxi stand near the hotel, but all the taxis were occupied. Thankfully, we finally managed to find a bus to our destination.
perfect central location and cheap for those on a budget who just want a bed for a few nights and no thrills loud corridors and slamming doors sometimes annoying,
friendly reception, fluent in english (quite strange for Spain) - the 4-bed room was pretty good, clean with spacious bathroom, they changed towels everyday - the location was also great, about 10 minutes walk from every hotspot old windows that couldn't protect from cold and noise, but you could take it
location service no good, room too small and spuky, too expensive for the quality of services offered.
Leaving it The staff are the most unfriendly i have every come across. The Hostel is also very difficult to find and is on a street where the traffic never stops so you do not get a great deal of sleep if you are in a room to the front of the hostel
center location a couple next to our room made noise at 3am. the wall is so thin that we could imagine exactly what they were doing.
Cheap, good location, excellent value for money
no discretion at all between room. It´s as though only a curtain separate each room...., no breakfast whatsoever served there.... and the staff should learn to make you feel more welcome ..... but for the price paid, not really complaining, though watch the cleanliness of your bathroom !!!!
In the centre of town and very near to bus stops to airport and to Alhambra. The price is excellent and the staff is friendly and communicate in English. No kettle and cups to make a cup of tea or coffee!
The view of the Alhambra and Albaicin and mountains from our window was great. Our room was very comfortable and everything worked.
location, clean and comfortable rooms, convenience to sights. no
One of the best hotels I have ever visited for such a good price (around 50 eur for a double room), beautifully designed spacious room, excellent view from the 14 floor, big bathroom, excellent location. Pay TV, expensive bar and restaurant.
good central position
We were only there one night and the location was not as good as we hoped.
the view was wonderful the bed was hard as arock
Location and views of the City were great, staff in the bar and reception also very helpful The food in the main Restaurant was not really four star ..pity really as the rest of the hotel was
Excellent hotel in good location, 20 minute walk into town centre or short bus ride on regular service.Staff extremely helpful at all times, can't fault it.
There is no parking, but you can looking for one in an infinite street behind.
The beds where comfortable and big and the staff were very kind and helpful
not much. no air condition, no space in rooms.
It was fairly central It was very noisy both from the street & neighbouring rooms. Room was small & very dark & certainly not worth the money
The location was perfect.
Hotel is located far from Alhambra that was the main purpose of our trip. Room was over narrow street with endless motorbikes almost all night.
They want you to pay 2 Euro for a map.
Location. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
The staff was friendly, the room was quite big, however there was a bunk bed in our room (so there were 4 beds in total - our double bed and the bunk bed, even though the room was just for two people) which took away a lot of space and was put next to the wardrobe. The towels can not be used - they are like plastic. Still, for the price it is acceptable. additional bunk beds in our room, towels
good place good staff, hotel in center of city!!!clean room!!the best for 1star!:-)
Relatively clean. We were given a noisy room and the heating was really bad.
Close to main city centre and bus routes to the Alhambra, staff didn't speak much English but were very friendly and helpful, the novelty of staying in the world's narrowest hotel! The room was small, but it is the world's narrowest hotel, so what would you expect? Also there's no lift, so people who can't handle stairs would have a problem.
Having access to the roof-top terrace from which to view Granada at night with a glass of wine in hand
the location and the lovely terrace on top of the building; the staff was very friendly rooms were very small but clean and comfortable
Affordable and fair price. The room is very good.
funky rooms and layout. It advertises itself as the world's thinnest hotel; perhaps it is. The staff in the reception is excellent and extremely helpful. I liked best the location. It is a brisk (and all uphill) walk to the Alhambra, but steps from the Plaza de Isabela la catolica and thus the main cathedral. The neighborhood is more popular than tourist, and this appeals to me.
Availability of parking; help with our activities.
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Hotel was close to sites - especially Alhambra. Excellent views from the terrace. Internet access. Clean rooms.
stayed there before - good value & good location - local, not so touristy bars on same street - upstairs terrace great - friendly & helpful staff - simple & fine time to change the shower head! coffee from machine not good considering in spain...
location, cleanliness, staff friendly
the location is excellent. the rooms were good. the staff was nice and the price very good. the room was a little bit noisy and we stayed on the second floor (without elevator..)
The location is great- we were able to walk to the Alhambra, restaurants, and shopping in minutes. It's near main roads and easy to find. The shared bathroom was quite cramped. Not many extra amenities were provided. The alley below our window was loud at night, but with no AC we had to leave it open.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, we liked the availability of free tea and coffee in the afternoons, a nice touch. The hotel is well situated being close to the Plaze Nueva, so convenient for orientation to all the sights. The Alhambra is a very pleasant 20 minute stroll away. The beds were on the hard side, but this was rectified by placing blankets on top of the mattress, thus ensuring a fitful sleep. The hotel staff were most helpful in this respect.
A true value for money hotel. Free internet connection when you bring your own laptop. The widest selection of Spanish and some international TV channels. Small rooms but lovely situated in the old Jewish quarters near the Alhambra. No access by car possible as it it located in a UNESCO world heritage area. Nearby parking at discount rates is however arranged. It is advisable to check the locations of both the hotel and parking before travelling. A neighbouring house is being redeveloped. Completion is expected in March 2008. As summers are hot work starts at 08:00 AM. No problem in case you are an early bird.
Location and building Bathroom, particularly shower.
The architecture and location
It is a lovely hotel and very near to the Alhambara Palace, 25 minutes walk. The staff or the hotel managemnet must spell out the process of how one the parking voucher is refunded? 18.50 euors for 24 hrs is to be refunded when one collects ones car but our experience was that we paid the full amount for 24 hr plus 9 hrs in one go and then found out that we had to go first to the cashier of the aprking company to get the refund and then pay the remainder of the parking charges. Otherwise, the parking voucher will not be refunded ( in our case) by the parking compnay. It is fair to say that when contated the hotel they were willing to refund after sending off the voucher and actual invoice to them by the post in order to refund 24 parking voucher.
Really beautiful old building. Very close to Alhambra and not a long climb up from the street. I.e., if you can walk a few blocks and climb stairs, this is not a big deal. Staff were very nice and made good recommendations. English ability was fine. Really has a lot of charm but see my negative comments. Prior web reviews indicate free coffee. This is only true in the afternoon. In the morning when you need it they will charge you 2 euros for a cup. Our room was hot despite turning off the radiators and if you open the windows you will get lots of noise and cigarette smoke up from the internal courtyard where smoking is allowed and where the night clerk appears to smoke all night. Beds are pretty darned hard. If they stopped allowing smoking in the courtyard, I would strongly recommend this hotel.
Great location for Alhambra. No elevator
The staffs are so kind and i spent comfortable time. There is no elevator in this hotel, so it is a little hard to go up with heavy suitcases.
The ambience & location were excellent. Room was pleasant & some staff excellent. Not all staff spoke English & the hotel at times was very noisy because of the 'open' courtyard.
Excellent location, authentic old world charm, unique architectural elements. Funky smell in bathroom.
Location, price. No cafe/restaurant or bar available. Needed to use hotel across the road. Even to buy water.
nothing location and out look of the hotel
Reception staff(Laurena)excellent and extremely helpfull. Bathroom showing signs of wear .tiles and woodwork
We found the hotel ideal for our overnight trip to the Alhambra and the opportunity to experience the historic city. It was convenient and adequate for purpose. There was noise on the street with late night passers-by but the room was pleasant and comfortable, better than average for the price.
The staff were very helpful hotel very central location
good location no breakfast facilities
Very polite and helpful staff. Excellent location, 2-3 minute walk to the heart of the centre of town. Very clean and modern room. Excellent value for money. The Room was compact (a little on the small side), but very clean and modern
Location, service Poor breakfast
Very good location. A bit small room. Mayby it is not suitable for long stay.
Very helpful staff, close to city center.
Looked after by good staff who cared about guests. Its location and traffic niose even on the 5th floor.
The Bathroom requires some work especially the bath area.It had mould and the shower mixer was very hard to operate.
Good welcome from attentive receptionist, who from the outset used and remembered my name, even the following morning when checking out. Very clean hotel. Excellent variety and quality of breakfast. Parking at reasonable rate under the hotel. Easy to find hotel, entrance well signposted.
Location excellent, staff very obliging and always willing to assist. Restaurant buffet style with plenty of choice and ability to satisfy all tastes.Excellent value for money.
The hotel provided free Internet. The hotel was only a couple of blocks from a stop on the City Tour bus. The hotel provided secure parking. The air conditioning system in the hotel was substandard, and I found the breakfast buffet mediocre.
Easy to find, and to park the car. Right next to Corte Inglés and Hipercor for shopping. It's 15 minutes walk from Granada centre, but that's no great hardship, unless it's raining.
The reception area is lovely and very inviting which gives a lovely first impression. One thing, the breakfast finishes too abrubtly. On the dot of 10 o'clock you feel like you have to finish up very quickly as all the tables around you are being cleared and the remaining food has all been taken away. Bascially I feel you could leave a 10 minute gap before the mad rush of cleaning up starts.
The hotel was shabby smelly and by no means a 4 star
Breakfast was extensive if perhaps lacking in 5* quality, which I could expect of a 4* to be fair. The room was of a good size and was well decorated and clean. It had a pool, although not terribly enticing to get in to, it helped with the 40+ degree heat. The curtains allowed for total sun exposure black-out, great for siestas in July! The pool area was severeley lacking an upgrade to bring it in line with the other good hotel facilities.
Located well for access to motorway which helped in a large city roadnetwork. Very impressive foyer and facilities- good choice at breakfast and room service. Helpful Staff on reception - particularly David. A taxi ride away from the Centre - but this is the price you pay for easy access from Motorway!
The old part of the hotel looked spectacular, shame that you didnt get to stay in a room in this part. Very central location. Convenient to walk to all the sites and nightlife Spa was very disapointing, staff were very attentive but the pool was too cold to sit in and relax and the steam room was only big enough for 4 people to sit comfortably. Room was ok but was not keen on the glass walls for the toilet and shower (personal preference) and dissapointed that one of the dressing gowns in the room was ripped.
Excellent room (quite 3rd floor - central - new building). Staff were superb.
The beds were very comfortable It was very noisy - traffic, people shouting, street cleaners all through the night.
The location is incredible. We felt like we were in the heart of Granada without being at the epicenter. You can walk to the Catedral de Granada, the Albaicin and the Alhambra (although that is steep and you might want to taxi). Even without those amazing sites the plazas and winding streets are charming and enough for any tourist. The Hotel is beautiful. One modern building and one classic. Both are kept up. We stayed in the modern building and looked upon the classic. It was done in a way that didn't distract from either building. The staff is friendly. If you've rented a car then you can park it for a small fee. The Food & Beverage department appears to be severely understaffed. The staff works hard but they seem frazzled and their scope of work seems to be too large - indoor and outdoor seating as well as bar tending and bussing.
the hotel was beautiul. the service and location were great. I wish I could have stayed here even longer.
The staff was lovely. The breakfast and dining room staff were quite friendly and accommodating.
We were delighted with Palacio de los Patos. It was everything we hoped it would be. Central, pleasing modern decor, interesting building, courtyard garden area. The staff were at the same time attentive and onobtursive. The breakfast buffet was good with local cheeses and meats and divine pastries. room service brought early morning tea very promptly. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings- it was elegant and relaxing and we recommend the tapas selection.
Unusual design, location. Over priced.
The best part of our stay at the Palacio de los Patos was the food and service in the restaurant - we were completely surprised and delighted by the delicious tapas brought to our room, the excellent buffet breakfast each morning and the dinner we ate one evening in the hotel restaurant. Excellent location in the shopping center of the new city. The staff seemed to be young and inexperienced - polite and tried hard. The problem was the room - minimalism decor was extremely uncomfortable to the point of total discomfort, The rainshower from the room above us came pouring into our room, glass doors were hadardous, not a single draw, no where to put anything away. Designers loved purity but forgot the needs of the guests.
Liked everything, the hotel was fabulous, the staff was the best. Great hotel, great location, great setting, great staff!
Very helpful staff and efficient service. Room was very contemporary (in the new part of the hotel). It would be good if they provided some movie channels for the TV. Might also be helpful to provide a local guide, listing some good bars/restaurants close to the hotel etc.
Great location, great staff. I would recommend this place!
I would recommend only for one night's lodging. Administrator of the hotel didn't know English. There have been problems with the payment, we discovered gestures :)
