Everything! The signage still listed the old hotel. We were walking from the train station and the temporary sign was on the other side of the building. Thankfully somebody came out because it looked like we were looking for this hotel and informed us it was the correct one!
All staff were exceptionally helpful and spoke good English. The dining room provided good value meals of high quality,
facility for safekeeping of our bicycles.2 minutes from Hotel de Ville and petite marche restaurant which was lovely as was Moen Thai restaurant and the greek one in the side street. we were refused a drink at 2245 despite the fact that closing was 2300 and a member of staff was on duty.
Everything. Friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, clean and comfortable room. Very quiet. For my purpose, it was ideal. No complaints.
Location near the city of Vannes. The towels in the bathroom.
The hotel was astop off point on our way home to UK.It was easy to find and very relaxed-breakfast was included which made a pleasant change. Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel clean and quiet.
The staffs are friendly and helpful, and the environment is comfort and clean, and the breakfast is quite good too. The hotel is not easy to locate, especially the name showing outside the hotel is a bit confused (it seems there is another hotel in the same location). Except this, some of the stuffs (i.e. towels and etc) in the rooms seemed insufficient - only provided 1 set instead of 2 sets in a twwin room.
close proximity to town centre. easy walking distance to all amenities having to pay for parking access to parking...
excellent parking arrangements for our motorobikes, the hotel was quiet ensuring a good night's sleep and good breakfasts
proximity to the old town
The staff were excellent, if you requested anything it was there immediately. Good position, not far from restaurants and the old port.
Staff very helpful and friendly, good room and other facilities, our room had a balcony. Hotel close to the old town, but far enough out to avoid any night-time noise etc. Free parking in car park directly opposite. A bit difficult to find, but partly because we drove through half of Vannes to get there. But don't let that put you off - just make sure you get a decent map off the web in advance. Hotel is signposted once you get closer. Not the cheapest - but you definitely get what you pay for.
Hotel is located on edge of old town, within easy walking distance.
Close to the city centre. The room was confortable. The staff was not friendly at all, they were rude and indolent.Really unpleasant experience for us.We will no return to this hotel.
The room was very comfortabe. However, the hotel was unable to provide a meal in the restaurant and could not provide room service despite offering a 24/7 service.
The duplex rooms are fantastically spacious and good value for families
Very clean new hotel Did not read request for twin bedded room so only double available as full.
Very convenient location near Vannes Centre. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Had dinner there and food was excellent. No complimentary toiletries (information sheet says they are available at reception on request)
Very good position. Standard room:big bed but little space for luggage
new hotel,5mins walk from historic part of town, hotel has a underground car park, staff excellent,
Lots of towels available (makes a change in France) nad light airy room with both air con and fresh air. Breakfast - souless
Pleantly surprised at quality of room and bathroom considering the price. Very competitive. About 10 minutes stroll in to Vannes centre. Highly recommended.
Found the rooms comfortable, the only thing was the tv had no english spoken channels! Nice to see tea/coffee in room., Much appreciated although booked as double, towels, shampoo etc. only supplied for one person.
clean and very tidy , nice staff . good breakfast , peaceful location good parking facilities
Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Il est rare de disposer d'un peignoir de bain dans un hôtel 2**.
we stay just to sleep ,but the view was very nice and everithing was ok nothing
The hotel services are excellent .But mosty the sense of village.
Location was absolutely stunning, particularly with the view over the waterfront from our twin room. We were allocated what was obviously a smoking room which was unpleasant, but bearable. I honestly do not remember seeing a tick-box on the web-site for smoking/non-smoking and this might, therefore, be my fault for not stipulating non-smoking, or the web-site may need to make this choice more obviously visible.
The position of the hotel in Conleau, south of Vannes, is superb. The staff on Reception were very helpful and the Breakfast Buffet was extensive and appetising. The menu in both the restaurant and the 'Cafe' was not to our taste. It was very 'Fruits de Mers' orientated with very few meat options (some offal dishes, again not to our taste ).
The location is magical, right on the beach yet close to the beautiful city of Vannes. The room was quite small and stuffy.
The location was very peaceful and the views were idyllic. see comment on menu
Superb location, very quiet and not far from town center of vannes which is superb.
the location close to Vannes, while in a very attractive surrounding small bath, small toilet
Comfortable hotel, well situated
The reception staff were excellent and helped in every way they could to make our stay rewarding. Their knowledge of the area was very good, and they guided us to the best sights each day. The rooms were very clean.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the centrte of Vannes and the free car park is a big plus. Breakfast is very expensive but there are plenty of reasonable alternatives in the town.
Very convenient to all attractions and restaurants. Ample free parking once hotel located! We would like to recommend the Terroir restaurant (run by an ex sous chef of Heston Bloumemtal) five minutes walk from the hotel. The only problem was the road at the side was used by "boy racers" at night and we would recommend you ask for a room at the back as there was no air-con and we had to keep the window open.
The room was small and uncomfortable. We upgraded for our second night which was slightly better but I don't think this hotel represents value for money, at all.
Convenience for walking into Vannes The price for breakfast.
Very clean and comfortable room, nice personel, good price.
location, friendliness of staff, room, all together an excellent stay --
Helpful efficient staff, very clean, well maintained bedroom Distance from historic centre of Vannes. Lack of communal areas, eg dining room, proper lounge or bar, breakfast served in bedroom. Absence of interesting views or local character. Very inadequate storage for clothes and possessions even in a large room. Open shelves with no doors and tiny inconvenient wardrobe.
Lovely room, quiet and very comfortable. Friendly welcome and excellent location just a few minutes walk to the beautiful old city and plenty of choice with places to eat. Just a short walk from train station.
Ideally located for going on a boat trip to one of the Islands. 20 minute walk along the river to the old town, which is beautiful.
Quiet hotel close to the harbour and the sea I am a fitness freak and there is no workout facility.
Quiet and comfortable
The room was very comfortable it has a king size bed plus two beds for my children and a real working air condition. The bathroom in my room required an urgent renovation (all the other room facilities were in good condition and overcome this problem)
Business + Nature walk NO
the buffet breakfast!!
location, car parking and staff no elevator, not fancy, value for the money-poor
All the staff are excellent - very courteous and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and they also treat you like a human being not an abstract 'guest'. The hotel is beautifuly presented although the spa seems expensive. As a solo traveller I would appreciate having the easier option of an evening meal (in the winter) without feeling that I am 'asking a favour' even though the response has always been charming. I love the fish! If you have English speaking guests you could consider having an English newspaper?
The hotel was peaceful and relaxing - the decor throughout was excellent as was the attention to detail. The propietor was very welcoming and helpful throughout. It was a little expensive, but on balance it was worth the extra.
Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room comfortable and hotel close to town facilities e.g. restaurants
Centrally located and convenient - generally good value for the room rate. Breakfast charge too high - we ate elsewhere. Car parking charges also quite high and we could not access the car park because our top box was too high to fit in the underground car park. It would help if the hotel advertised that there is a maximum hight limit as a secure car parking facility was one of our reasons for choosing this hotel.
Excellent location and staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was satisfactory. A refreshment tray in the room would have been good, as there are no refresment facilities provided within the hotel whatsoever.
We liked the location the room the car park and the support of the staff
Good location near old town, friendly staff, overall price to value ok building post modern from 70ies as the rooms, garage difficult to use for unexperienced drivers
Staff pleasant, central location Breakfast lacked variety for the cost but what there was was good. Garage parking very expensive
Very spacious room with large bathroom. Just 2 minutes walk from the old town and shops. Cheap available parking next to the hotel.
It is convenient for the historic old town of Vannes, as well as the shops and harbour front.
Our triple room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
The warm welcome and the excellent handling of our calls to the hotel plus car park, essential for security as we were returning to Ireland from France and did not wish to unpack the car. So that was most helpful. No
safe and secure under ground parking.excellent very helpful staff no
Leaving! We had booked a triple room as we were travelling with our daughter. Unfortunately we were given two rooms on different floors ! We showed our booking form which clearly stated a triple room but were informed that there wasn't one available. This impacted on our stay in such a fundamental way that we did not use any of the hotel's facilities - in particular we didn't eat in the restaurant, The staff member with which we dealt with was very dismissive of our complaint and could only just about manage a very inadequate apology.
Friendliness & helpfulness of staff. Dinner in the hotel restaurant - the Brasserie Bleu - was of very high quality. There was a varied menu and the cooking produced exquisite tastes such as one expects only in gourmet restaurants. Which says a lot for a 2* hotel. The room lacked a chest of drawers and lockers and instead had shelves which were less than satisfactory. There was a very faint hint of mustiness in the wardrobe but no visible evidence of dampness which might account for it. There was a very basic level of comfort in the room but then one shouldn't expect much more in a 2* hotel.
Good hotel and the room was large and very clean, if a little dark. Staff were very helpful. It is a fairly long walk into Vannes centre.
Comfortable and quiet Not enough windows in room and too much light outside
secure parking Info on web page should say that it takes 20 mins or more to walk into centre of Vannes
The size of the room was very good, not a shoe box as is often the case. Room was quite shabby but nothing that a coat of paint etc could not fix.
Greatly appreciated the competence and friendliness of the Reception staff and the comfort and equipment of the room (in the annexe) The quality of the food in the hotel brasserie was mediocre
A modern style hotel with good parking facilities. The room was clean, comfortably furnished with a well fitted bathroom - no bath but an excellent, walk-in shower. In the morning a very adequate buffet breakfast with a good selection was offered. We were very pleased with the overall standard and value for money.
very comfortable. No
Nice position on the edge of Vannes, excellent size room with all the amenities. Very good value for money.
The restaurant was accessible, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was enjoyable
Too far out of the town
The market in Vannes Saturday Morning Could be closer to the town as it is a car drive in and price wise we could have stayed in town. a walk from the restaurants around the lovely harbour.
The rooms had a musty smell off them
Hotel was ok, clean but room very small, adequate for price. Location was dreadful, miles from centre, no public transport and E20 taxi!! ea way. Resturant food was diabolical and expensive
Very friendly and helpful.
Staff were helpful, room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was quite good - good selection, and there was an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Good car parking facility. The hotel - and therefore all public facilities - closed at 9.0 p.m - e.g. no bar open after that time. The room was a bit smaller than we had expected, but the bathroom was a reasonable size. It was a bit more of a walk to the restaurants than we had expected.
Our double room was comfortable and quiet and the bed had a good mattress, the staff was friendly; good breakfast buffet, calm environment, good location for trips by car to Côte Sauvage, Carnac, Vannes, etc.
lovely clean and friendly place parking for motorbikes 15 min walk along river to port and bars loved the place
Very helpful, pleasant staff. It was clean and comfortable Breakfast very poor value, with lack of choice, compared with others we have had for the same price in similar hotels in France.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice and clean rooms. Nice walk to st.Goustan (ca 12 min.) I really liked the place.
child friendliness of the hotel as we had two children under 3 years of age no
Our room at the back of the hotel looked out onto the grounds so it was quiet. There was plenty of space and it was very clean. It is away from the crowds but not too far from the beach and we liked Auray and especially the port.
Quiet location & easy access Time switch on corridor lights could have been more generous
Staff we felt were exceptional, very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Heaters weren't working. Would of appreciated tea making facilities
Exactly as described/advertised on the booking.com website and on the hotel's own website
Spacious room, very clean.
It's true you have no noise at all and you're still right in front of the train station (convenient when no car) and 10 minutes away from the town centre. The room was a bit small but it's ok to sleep and have a shower and it was the cheapest hotel i could find in Vannes.
Clean fairly spacious room with good toilet/shower facilities.
Practical location near railway station - I just wanted to be there in the morning There is some noise from the street in front of the hotel - ok with windows closed
It was very much a travellers hotel - reps, passing business men...not really for holiday travellers. No tea/coffee making facilities at all. Charming and friendly owner. Extremely noisy all night - I should have taken in that it was on the railway station and on a roundabout! Metal shutters helped keep out noise - but fan would have been helpful as then very hot! Breakfast very plain - tiny croisant each, corn flakes no choice cereal + bread. Beds comfortable, room adequate - good ensuite bathroom.
This is the perfect hotel and location to visit Vannes which is beautiful city, the lady at the front desk was wonderful and helpful and the room was very clean and pretty spacious, brilliant location for the train station and just 3 minutes walk to the centre:)
Staff were extremely helpful about locations of various points and services
very friendly , helpfull ,service excellent
The hotel is opposite the railway station but the double glazing and shutters keep it quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful.Comfortable beds and clean rooms.
We felt the residency was modern and clean and its proximity to the hotel was good for restaurant facilities if required We feel that an inclusive price of cleaning would be advantageous as a control on cleaning can more easily be maintained. Poor signage on arrival from main thorofare I missed it and had to do a detour to return.
The staff were very helpful, the apartment was clean and convenient.
very comfortable and well equiped suite.
Excellent facility for holidays. The terrace is very nice. There is a refrigarator in the "kitchen" to keep the champagne cold.
Very large apartment in a good location with all facilities available.
Balcony was advertised but we had great terrace - very quiet at back of the building. Good parking and good security. The Best Western is next door and has a good restaurant. Since it is a "residence" and not an actual hotel there was no soap so we had to buy some!
Excellent cuisine beautifully presented Public rooms tastefully designed and bedrooms clean and comfortable Breakfast a little expensive (9.5€) and being closed for dinner on a Sunday was a (minor) inconvenience
We like small quiet hotels and the Alicia is exactly that. The rooms whilst smallish are perfectly comfortable hotel kept very clean by unobtrusive staff. The food was excellent but it would be better if the menu for the evening was displayed together with the cost at reception in the morning. we certainly would have eaten there more often had we realised how reasonable theemeals were. The view from our balcony was stunning (rooom 5). There are complaints on the web about the alicia hotel but it is a good 2 star hotel with 4star food and 5 star location.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. I arrived late and they were waiting for me and got me right up to my room with ease. The room was very pretty and clean and breakfast was very good.
we found the hotel to be a very well appointed, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Our meal there was delicious.
A beautiful location, good food and welcoming proprietors. We booked for four nights and stayed for seven.
