9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warmth! May was rainy, chilly, and one can adjust heat in both bathroom and bedroom. Privacy. Wonderfully comfy bed! My 2kg Japanese Chin, Tartufo, was welcome. Kind and honest innkeepers. Gorgeous countryside. Easy access to Lascaux.
Cons: 1- Needs precise, online map to find b&b. 2- Worst dinner ever at Restaurant La Table du Terroir, DON'T go! I was sent by Jacques & Nadine (who of course thought it would be good on a Sunday evening, everything closed.) I was only person there. Crass, insincere owner. Frozen and/or canned food (escargots, seafood) drowning in bechamel sauce. Wine on verge of becoming vinegar; he charged me for it, even after he'd grimaced after sipping it...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very traditional.. spotless clean and well maintained. Very friendly hosts.
Cons: It was all beautiful.. no complaints
9.5 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: All was excellent. Very comfortable and warm and quiet. Very nice hosts. Charged less because I was alone.
Cons: An encroaching and growing modern building site.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet area with a small village 10 mins walk away. Nearest restaurant approx 7kms. Hosts are really nice people who make you feel welcome in their converted rustic cottage. Bedroom and bathroom really nice. Lovely and clean. Breakfast takes place in a communal setting which makes for interesting conversations and a chance to get to know other guests.
Cons: Perhaps a little more choice for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place, quiet, peaceful, rural from which to explore Perigord.

Pros: Rooms were super clean with plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was very filling and eaten in the communal kitchen where you can meet the other guests in the morning.
Cons: Can get hot in summer due to no air conditioning.

Pros: Wonderful place ..a must see .. real Historic Chateaux and beautifully kept.
Cons: But be ready to carry you luggage up a spiral stone staircase ....fabulous ..but a bit hard going for older bones !
6.8 Good
Pros: Second visit to the Chateau. Prior 3 years ago. New female owner lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast good although included in room cost on the previous visit. Room tidy and a good sleep.
Cons: Male owner not so welcoming, said hello but otherwise not wanting to engage in conversation. The opposite of his lovely wife. The once beautiful gardens are run down and in need of maintenance. The male owner needs to put some gardening clothes on and start trimming hedges. The chateau is beautiful but has lost the special feeling that brought us back for a second visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a wonderful experience from start to finish.Your hostess Cecile, whose family have occupied this wonderful house for generations, was gracious and friendly, and, she went the extra mile to sate the hunger of 4 travellers, whose night of arrival sadly coincided with the closure of the restaurant over the road. We two couples shared the Rose suite which was beautifully furnished with large and comfortable beds. What a splendid sleep we all had. Our tasty and creatively prepared breakfast was served on a marvellous terrace by a lovely member of staff who added to the ambiance of a memorable all too brief one night stay. By the way if you don't enjoy the views across the lake from the garden then I guess there is no pleasing you.
Cons: Now this is a tough one!! We have thought long and hard and the only thing we can think of is maybe availability of some sort of tee/coffee making facility in the bedroom might be nice, but maybe your hosts would not want to take the risk of the room furniture being stained or damaged so in all honesty were happy to go without!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cecile (owner) and Elodie could not have been nicer and more welcoming. It is still a family home although vast and we were welcomed like family. Very tastefully modernised and not spoiled.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Conveniently located near to Brive set in tranquil location overlooking a lake. Beautiful garden area to relax. Delightful hosts who were very obliging.
Cons: 85 steps of a steep spiral staircase to get to our bedroom ‘Orchidee’. You need to be fit and active as it is a long climb and difficult with luggage. This needs to be made clear as some less able people would really struggle. Weather was hot and room quite stuffy but a fan was provided which made it more bearable. Servicing of the room was not automatically carried out, in fact after two days without a service, we had to ask to get clean towels and bins empty etc. This was done on day 3 but only one lot of toiletries provided for the 4 day stay so make sure to bring your own shampoo and soap. Paying in cash only is an inconvenience and potentially a security issue as the room does not have a secure box or safe. Whilst a unique experience to stay in such an old castle, from our perspective it was not what we were expecting for the price and based on the reviews made of the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Beautiful castle. Beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast. Clean rooms. Modern day bathroom. Impossible to be The Ritz because it’s a castle. Great value.
Cons: Bed not comfortable.
9.5 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old château with all the mod cons. Plenty of room with lovely decor. Massive kitchen, dining and salon. Terrasse outside with beautiful views of the lake. Lovely hosts. Got to see wild boars!
Cons: Nothing really
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing chateau; beautifully furnished and in a delightful area close to the lake. Made very welcome and breakfasts on the terrace were very memorable. The latitude and longitude on booking.com is not accurate - but if you get to village you can't miss the chateau opposite the restaurant. Lovely and cool inside in hot weather.
Cons: You have to climb a minimum of 50 steps to get to your room. It's well worth it - but bear it in mind!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is close to absolutely perfect. There's very little not to like. The location is gorgeous; one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in; staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable; the restaurant in the hotel is amongst the best in the region and there's some pretty good places close by. My 4 and 2 year olds loved the place and already miss the dogs and bunnies living in the property.
Cons: There's really very little to dislike.

Pros: The location and the surroundings are beautiful. The meal was very good.
Cons: Although the meal was booked it was late by the time we ate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect combination of countryside, comfort and elegance.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Just one small complaint. The bed that was supposed to be a single one (queen or whatever) turned out to be two single beds put together. The sleep was not perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay friendly and welcoming staff
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a gorgeous setting, with a stream which for centuries had fed the mill, gently meandering through the grounds. It was lovely to have an aperitif before dinner on the sunlit terrace. The service from the owner, Marie Jo, to the waiters, could not be faulted and our dogs were welcomed.
Cons: Whilst the food was delicious and much of it locally sourced or homemade (butter, yoghurt, jams, and much more), both food and drink were fairly pricey particularly our aperitifs before dinner. As there were no prices we had wondered if a drink before dinner was complimentary, which would have been a lovely touch, as everyone was seated by the ruined mill for an aperitif before being led to a table on the terrace, but it wasn’t and the champagne especially was expensive. Still, it was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to return one day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly service, fabulous location, great rooms and excellent food

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff and beautiful swimming pool. Dinner was simple but very good
Cons: Noise from the road in the early morning. Quiet in the evening though
6.8 Good
Pros: Facilities
Cons: Food was really basic and breakfast was very poor...
5.0 Okay
Pros: Availability of a Boules/Petanque space
Cons: A price on the menu we were shown for an evening meal suggested it was 12 euro. In fact we were charged 23 euro. The food was appalling for a French Hotel. A choice of only two dishes. The maigret du canard and salmon were poor quality. The french fries were poor english standard oven chips. No tea and coffee facility in the room and no television or radio in the room. Very poor for the price compared with a Camponile.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, old good style hotel, staff very kind and service oriented
Cons: Not sure about the service during the breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was good
Cons: Breakfast was very basic and rooms uncomfortable. Also smelly drains.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great swimming pool, friendly staff, good food. Lovely grounds and great shaded parking area, very handy in the summer. Nice menu, great wine, friendly staff in the restaurant. For walking tours, cycling and canoeing the staff know their stuff.
Cons: Rooms a bit rustic - especially bathroom fittings, carpet. No air conditioning, just an old fan. The hotel has a lot of charm, but the rooms would be better if fully renovated with shower that can be hung at different heights properly and nicer fittings in general. It was clean though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location of the Place is magical, hidden away in calm nature. The rooms have a more recent antiquity, but this is just adding to the charm. The property is big and has lots of opportunities to entertain oneself. The staff was really great, friendly and helpful making our stay perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing not to like
