The unbelived view , very nice stuff . No internet available in the room , a lot of noise from upstaire .
Staff were helpful and the rooms were just what we wanted, basic but inexpensive No
We enjoyed a ground floor room just as we had requested at time of booking Unswept under the beds
As we arrived on a public holiday and many cafes etc shut ,handy that it was surrounded by a supermarket, very good Leon restaurant directly infront.
Not much at all. It was relatively inexpensive I suppose. Getting to it off the main road and finding it in the middle of what seemed like an industrial estate was difficult. Although it was inexpensive it was still only 20 Euros cheaper than a four star luxury hotel we stayed in at Genoa. There were no staff, it's all automated. The room is a stopover really, little stacked porta-cabins with one small window. The shower would not accommodate someone disabled like myself. The breakfast was ok, but it was clear that staff regard this as just a cheap, rough and ready stop over. Everything was plastic.
Good value. Room was small but adequate - you get what you pay for. Not a bad place to overnight but 1 night was enough.
The wireless connection for free in the room is simply great! Plenty of shops and restaurants very close to the hotel. Not difficult to find if you come from the motorway.
the hotel was ideal for a quick one night stop on route up through France. place to eat next door and just off the main road One of the rooms had a connecting door to another room that was not locked so we requested another room. THe bed cover in one room was also very dirty.
although small en-suite facilities were important. beds were comfortable. no room facilities eg kettle to make a cup of tea especially as the hot drinks machine was out of order.
I am a non smoker and the room was infected with the smell of cigarette which affected my sleep.
Did not like the noise!! The walls are too thin - I don't like hearing men going to the toilet, or chattering all night. I would have liked a mirror in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.
Friendly staff! Good breakfast for the money!
It was very conveniently situated to explore Orleans. The room was rather small and the towels were rather rough. The parking was tricky as it was in a very full public car park.
Quiet, comfortable room. Cheery, helpful staff. I found it difficult to find when walking from the station on the first night. Local people didn't know the address either! Once I found the route it was easy, just off the main street!
Good Location in the middle of town, everything within walking distance. Located on a busy and noisy street, hard to sleep through. Walls between rooms are also thin and definately not soundproof
the location so close to the centre of Orleans was superb. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff who were very understanding about my terrible french. Bathroom a bit poky. Room very basic and absolutely no extras.
Easy to find and very central. Very helpful staff and good advice on where to park, eat etc. Basically badly decorated, dirty, smelly and in urgent need of refrubishment.
Room in need of refurbishment. Overcharged on room and breakfast, a total of €8.00 Please refund. When queried, their knowledge of english disappeared.
the rooms needed some tlc
Very helpful and obilging staff. Real French style hotel, basic but very clean. Breakfast good and location very close to centre of Oleans. Parking can be a problem if using a roofbox. I booked private parking which was arranged but this copes with vehicles 1.9 metres or less. Ensuite bathroom seperated by wonky concertina door. Towels on hard side. Good television.
We stayed only there as a night stop during our trip to our holiday-address. We just want to sleep and have breakfast and the hotel forfill our expectations.
it's actually called Bonsai Hotel and this meant we spent 15 minutes trying to find it
close to a few good restaurants. recommend the Hippo. rooms well fitted. only 2 bath towels for 5 to share.
My son, Mike Puplett, stayed in a room adjacent to the hotel manager and was kept awake most of the night by the constant telephone calls he received. My comments above are based on my experience. As above
Price. The noise from the other rooms.
Rooms layout giving families a degree of privacy and security
Hard bed, noisy room, poor T.V. quality,
location excellent.. staff very friendly, courteous... so called family rooms far too small and almost no storage..have stayed in accomodation as small in Paris for similar money but proper storage and use of kettle made hotel much more attractive.
Low price good for only 1 overnight stay. Good parking outside. Terrible size of room. We booked a triple but think they merely added an extra bed into an already smallsized double room. Can you imagine an airplane lavatory ? That's what size the bathroom is. Limited breakfast for € 5 a person.
value for money both room need shower curtain
clean, central, and were excellent about a forgotten coat
Good central location in old part of town. The hotel is unfussy and unpretentious and the staff polite and helpful. Rooms at the front are affected by noisy scooters at night.
The staff was courteous and helpful. Our room, though small, was neat and tidy. Everything worked and the breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone interested in staying in downtown Orleans and enjoying a good night's sleep at a reasonable and fair price.
Everything was at the appropriate level.
Good location, very friendly staff Breakfast a little disappointing
the rooms were lovely
The location was perfect for my purposes. Hôtel Marguerite is very close to the tramway, making it easy to get around Orleans and to/from the station. It is also walking distance from most restaurants and bars. I thought it was a little overpriced, considering breakfast is not complimentary and Canal+ is advertised but not available.
Welcoming, friendly atmosphere. A desire to make the stay a happy one.
It's location is perfect for the centre attractions and very close to the river and its walks. No tea/coffee facilities in the room, but otherwise very good
Service from reception No tea/coffee facilities in room
The hotel staff were very generous in fixing the booking problem with our room (see comments below).
Nice and quiet room, superb beds
Everything was lovely - just what you need after 500 miles of driving. we had no complaints whatsoever
Clean & conveniant
Very difficult to find. The directions did not help. Ended up aking people on the side of the road. The hotel was a typical campanile. The room was fine but a little small and there was no bath plug so it had to be a shower. Breakfast was okay. the croissants fresh The evening meal was fine and very convenient being able to eat on site after a long journey. We stayed overnight on our way south. This was the most expensive of our stopover hotels and while it was fine and no complaints it was the worst of our hotels just because of where it was and what it offered.
We were able to take our dog along. They provided a water bowl as we'd forgotten ours. It was a convenient stopping point on our way south. The room was quite small even without a dog and a child! The breakfast selection was limited and not that plentiful.
Location to Orleans, several restuarants close by as well as in the hotel. Shower attachment was broken.
convenient stop enroute south
This hotel room was quite roomy even with a fold out bed in it for our child. Reception staff were friendly but indifferent (language differnces may have contributed to this). Everything was very clean and the free wifi was very fast. Not all that easy to find.
Ease of finding. Instructions clear, not always the case. Dining room very hot, perhaps air condtioning not working. This spoilt what could have been an excellent meal.
Easy settlement Lack of hot water
Funny place (in a football stadium), quiet neighbourhood. Good for transit although spending 15 euro extra for a proper hotel room with more luxury is worth considering dirty shower, dirty & missing bedlinnen, noisy
Good value for money, the rooms are quite modern. The hostel is very far out of town, although it is near a tram stop.
Staff very helpful, breakfast fine, all the basics one needed for price. It was very basic , sinks were not clean and toilets smelt. More of a hostel than a B and B and no soap, towels etc provided. Beds very uncomfortable and no lights on bottom bunks. A bit far out of Orleans and difficult to find initially.
these are the rooms in the stadion tribunes :O) good price if you need just to sleep.
The wireless conection and position . The very tick walls .
location and cost noisy. no staff after 1900hrs to supervise/mange. people playing ping pong/ table football laughing, talking loudly shouting until approx 0200.Then loud music, or so it seemed from about 0615. As this was a stopover approx 4 hrs sleep not brilliant when you have a day driving ahead of you and children.
the extreme kindness at the reception Is inside a football stadium!
Affordable, simple, good for overnight stop over. Close to somewhere to eat and drink, parking available. Excellent tram link to Orlean central. Quiet. Interesting staying in a football stadium ! More information on facilities accessible to use eg. tennis, swimming etc
Just the fact that it was cheap and easy to access from the motorway The receptionist was rude and uninformative which really did not make for a pleasant arrival after 10 hours on the road - I really formed the impression that she did not want to be there. The breakfast was a real disappointment compared to other Mr Beds I have stayed in before. The condition of the rooms was also 'tired' - definitely needs updating!
The beds were just terrrible!
Hotel and breakfast basic, but good value for money Didn't like using the automatic entry machine and wanted to pay by cash not card, but couldn'T.
check -in no towels
Prijs / Kwaliteit verhouding en tevens voor een goede prijs nog een ontbijt ook. Bed een beetje kort voor een lange man, maar dit is geen onoverkomelijk probleem.
1.) The price. 2.) The internet access 1.) Only on the third try I was given a room that was prepared. 2.) No shower in the room and only two hand towels are provided.
i only stayed 1 night mold everywhere!!!.....no shower.......very damp room
effective clean no
Only stayed on a stop-over but fine for that, similar to Formule 1 with showers in the hall.
It had a toilet The generator in the factory next door was noisy and ran on and off all night. No bedside tables.
The breakfast choice was exceleant. There was no Restaurant, or if there was we were not made aware of it. We had presumed that as a Restauranr was included in the information we would be able to have an evening meal there.
THERE WAS A SECURE CAR PARK AS WE WERE TRAVELLING THOUGH TO SOUTHERN FRANCE. THE EVENING MEAL WAS DISAPPOINTING.
Approach roads were busy during shopping hours but that is a small problem
impossible to find.
located on an industrial estate we found no evidence on signs which would have helped greatly in locating the hotel which several local people were not aware of and could not direct us to !
That we arrived late and left early and did not have to stay too long in this dump. The very small bedroom and bathroom, being in an industrial estate, it was only worth about half the amount you charged us.
Basic but excellent value and very friendly owner.
Friendly staff, we were running very late and they were very helpfulI would stay there again
Pleasant staff, agreable accomodation, uncomplicated process None
Excellent location near a large park, Walk to botanical gardens, Great for kids, Park outside room, Large rooms
The night staff were very friendly and helpful - supplying ice and olives while the bar and canteen were closed all weekend. We did not know the bar and canteen were going to be closed during our stay
resonable price, good choice for breakfast, staff very pleasant and helpful even when busy. room ok, facilities good. good value for money. bit difficult to find, even my sat nav struggled with it. needs better signage especially at night time.
Room quite small but everything necessary in place. A desk suitable for working and internet connection.
Nice tidy rooms with excellent beds. Personell were nice and helpful.
We were most impressed by the standard of cleanliness We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open on a Sunday evening.
I likes the fact that it was only 2 stories high There was no hot water for the first 4 hours after arrival. The room needed decorating, and was small. The restaurant was closed .The soundproffing between corridor & rooms was very poor.
Friendly professional hardworking staff. Mild residual smell of tobacco smoke in the room furnishings and pillows. Tiny wardrobe. Difficult to find entrance from main road.
Clean tidy hotel, quiet location near motorway. Reasonable price. There is no mention that the hotel retaurant is closed on friday, saturday and sunday, quite important I think. not enough pillows.
We were passing through enroute to the Pyrennees There were only 2 sachets of coffee in the room. When we asked the night man for 2 more we were told that they had none available. It was due to the attitude of this member of staff that I marked staff as fair. The check in and out staff were excellent.
The Staff, both the reception desk and breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was very nice, well presented, and very well cared for. The rooms were clean and neat, great towels. The lighting in our room was poor. Near the bed were only two small and very low height situated bedlights ... and there was only one other lamp in the room. raising the two lamps by the beds would improve the situation tremendously.
Friendliness of staff, proximity to city center, overall atmosphere of the hotel
The character of the hotel and its location made this a lovely change from the bland stereotypical offerings from the usual hotel chains. The breakfast was also first class. Be aware that unloading luggage at the front door can be a problem due to a combination of lack of space and the tram cars passing by. It is also tricky to locate depite being very central due to traffic restrictions and said tram cars. My suggestion would be to park first in one of the nearby public car parks and walk to the hotel and assess the best way to get your luggage to the front door. Once you done this everything falls into place.
The room was very nice, quite, airconditioned. Good location, breakfast, internet was free. The bathroom was very small.
No car parking.
Location, location. location. The staff is very nice. Rooms are very clean. It is located near Louvre and some metro stations. Breakfast is fine. Rooms are small and isn't enought light.
Hotel is located in a pedestrian area, so access to the hotel with a car is slightly confusing and hopefully not illegal :) It might be good to have this topic clarified in the hotel info...
Concierge after booking the money for the room were blocked twice (they said just to check the validity of the card)
Very good location, in the city center. Excellent breakfast. Small but confortable room. Professional staff. Good value for money.
It was a great stop over point for travelling through France, the xbox in the foyer was a a welcome surprise for the children after a long journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was excellent value and perfect for our overnight stop as we drove to spain
Very comfortable beds meant a good night's sleep was had by the whole family. Very clean and well kept room. Good buffet breakfast. No facility for an inexpensive evening snack. Food expensive. Receptionist not always at the desk. Room rather small for a family room. We were rushed at breakfast - staff started to clear away the buffet before we had finished eating.
I very comfortable, spacious, clean and a super resturant
Very Peaceful and very Clean
Location was convenient. Dinner in the restaurant was the first inedible meal after 2 weeks in Europe. No way to control the ventilation and air circulation in the room, making it a hot airless box in which it was impossible to sleep.
Food was good but expensive, good facilities fort the kids Room was adaquate for a family of 4 for 1 maybe 2 nights as a stop overbut would not recommend for longer to small.
As we were travelling across France from The Alsace to Honfleur it was very convenient as a stopover as very near to motorway. Easy to find thanks to SatNav! Not really a long term holiday hotel.
Very efficient and friendly staff. The room was spacious and well equiped. The whole hotel was very clean and well presented. The food was excellent.
ease of check in Food
Excellent hotel, perfect overnight stay, very clean and close to the city centre! Would definitely stay there again
The personal touch of the owners
Everyone was very helpful
very good, very friendly, would stay again
Pleasant reception on arrival. Room was reasonably comfortable. Hotel in bad need of revitalisation, updating to the 20th century. Breakfast was inadequate and certainly did not represent value for money and service was we felt reluctant. Didn't like to see the dirty last night dinner trays left in the lift by staff. Apart from being unsightly, it made it difficult for us to manage our luggage. TV did not have English speaking channels such as BBC World or CNN. We were pleased we only stayed one night.
The staff were extremely helpful, e.g. giving directions to the old town. Decor is good, rooms are clean and comfortable.
Cheap and cheerful, but clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Good location for city centre and nightlife.
Room was big enough, the bathroom clean and XL, the beds were very comfartable
Friendly staff, nice location just north of city centre, clean rooms and a really nice breakfast room. If arriving by car you will need to park in the spot directly in front of hotel as the garage requires a key for reception. I was not aware of this before arriving.
Pleasant staff and room, and a car park.
The evening meal was good value.Good location for stop-over only. There was only a buffet breakfast. Not worth paying 9 Euros each for a family of four especially when children just over the 10 year age limit for a child's price.More motel than hotel.
It was convenient. inexpensive Yes. there was blood on a pillowcase and the toilet was not clean. the satff were singularly disinterested.we have stayed many times at campaniles and never been this dissatisfied. I really hope this will not happen again as we intend to stay again in october
The Evening meal and helpful staff
The friendliness of the staff; they were all so helpful
Location of hotel and layout. Privacy. Helpful and courteous staff
Very Clean, had no smoking rooms which was great.
Food mostly good, staff helpful Rooms and grounds a bit "tired" could do with sprucing up.
The staf were helpful, the rooms were basic but clean, the loocation was interesting. No
Breakfast is too expensive for the quality.
Having stayed at Issoire the week before the difference in standard was great. This hotel looks old. The restaurant service and quality of food was not as good as Issoire. We had booked two twin rooms but were given one twin and one double. This may have been because we asked for them next door to each other but it was not what we had booked.
The hotel is just a part of a much bigger building, so doesn't look at all promising from the outside (unless you're looking for a new exhaust and a set of tyres whilst you're there!). But the staff are friendly, and infinitely accommodating. Great location right in the city, and after an overnight stay, we could leave the car there all of the next day before we left Orleans. Room faultless- comfy beds, nice shower- all modern, clean and nicely laid-out. Breakfast was completely by buffet, but lots of choice, and pretty room. It's a good thing really, and the staff were brilliant about helping out, but the parking, being fairly secure, requires a staff member with a key to get into (via the world's smallest lift!), which made getting extra things from the car a bit of a faff. But, as I say, it's a securuty measure, so we were also happy to leave things we didn't need in the car (hidden, of course!).
The owner/staff were quite friendly and helpful and language was only a minor problem. The hotel is just a block from the train station, and just a few blocks from the statue of Joan of Arc. The hotel is one floor above the street with a tire repair shop on the ground floor and the elevators can hold only one person with luggage.
The staff was excellent and very helpful.
location and breakfast no availabilty of a cot bed
good central location, hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful rooms and decor could do with some updating
Staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful. Room was fine and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was fine but the shower was a basic attachment over the bath and could have been more modern but the water was hot. No.
For France the room was spacious, bright and airy. Close to SCNF and a nice walk to main attractions. 'Chuck' on reception was brilliant and seemed to work 24/7.
The hotel was very easy to find from the railway station. The receptionist was very friendly and very helpful, and although we cannot speak French she was able to understand us and we could understand her.The staff at breakfast were also very friendly and easy to speak to. The underground car park was extremely useful also. We cannot find any fault with the hotel at all. For a 2 star hotel, at a reasonable price, we were very pleasantly surprised. clean, comfortable, nice room, nice bathroom, very good buffet breakfast. We have had far worse rooms in 4 star hotels!!
friendly staff, warm welcome
Room clean and spacious and very affordable TV only had French Channels and rarely had staff on the desk in the evening
Good price, free WiFi access, clean and spacious rooms The shower cabinet is too small, and a refrigator (or minibar) would have been nice - but I admit that for some reason the latter generally can't be expected from a hotel of this category.
excellent value for money,many thanks
Helpful Staff; Good bed; Clean hotel; Good location. Rooms small compared with similar format hotels in uk and walls a bit thin!
Convenient for stop-over on the autoroute. The location is good for restaurants. The staff were friendly and polite. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom had good shower with plenty of hot water. Room was small and smelt of tobacco smoke although the hotel had a no smoking policy. Shower cubicle was tiny with hardly any room to move around.
Economico. Personale gentile - Echinomic. Good staff Zona non prossima al centro. La stanza puzzava di fumo ma mi è stata prontamente cambiata --- Not far to the center. My room smelt smoke but the staff changed me soon.
The readiness of the staff to assists in order to make our stay comfortable. the system for the credit card charging is only for the credit cards with chips. Old credit cards which will prevail for guests from Bulgaria are not acceptable. So credit cards can be used only in case the reception works.
Everything was great except the bed which even after 2 weeks camping was really uncomfortable!
the underground secure parking and the staff were good. very basic i expect more for this money
Excellent value fot the price. Simple but clean. The staff was welcoming and nice and the hotel restaurant is to be recommended! Quality and quantity for an extremely cheap fare. 14€ for a buffet type menu!
