I liked the accessibility to the city and the regular train line. Staff was very helpful No
Its location was excellent for walking around town.
Staff very helpful and friendly especially given that it was an onvernight stay which helkped us make the most of it. None worth mentioning
Nothing Noisy, dirty, in disrepair (shower, bed, tv, heating)
Comfatable for a family whilst staying overnight during travel. Not English speaking at all but personally i think this is nice
It was very easy to get to from the train station.
Easy to find, nice quiet room (as requested)
Breakfast was fairly good according to french standards, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. No airco in our bedroom.
Availability of private car parking area Breakfast was somewhat chaotic
Friendly staff, one of which upgraded our room (at no extra charge) on account of our little one. Parking was a nightmare near the hotel so we took advantage of the hotel's secure parking (8 euros)
We reserved a non smoking room but were given a smoking one. We were moved to a non smoking room, but were downgraded so the room was not as nice. You could barely shut the bathroom door as it banged into the toilet. The air conditioning did not work so we could not sleep due to the heat. This is a shame as the hotel itself is really nice
very secure car park and excellent breakfast reception etc good the floors due to the age of the hotel were up and down and not ideal for my wife with a walking disability there was no baggage trolley for moving luggage to the room
hemquality of the breakfast and the friendly service at reception The cost of having to park a car on top of the accomodation costs
The lovely, deep bath!
Its location in the city and the parking The bed was too soft and the bathroom was not clean (champignons)
quiet rooms although in the heart of the city next to busy taffic roads, clean rooms, air conditioning in all rooms No variation at all in breakfast during 7 days stay / issues about car parking (moving of cars to allow other visitors to leave earlier, ...)
in the middle of the city no
nice hotel room, very clean, well decorated, very modern.Hotel cituated in the center of the city, well located, Parking available, but not suitable (procedure, available spaces, to narrow...) Breakfast room too small, no privacy since other people were placed at your table. Poor parking facility.
Secure parking, although a bit expensive Bathroom was spacious but not exactly clean
Secure parking. Good restaurant, well frequented.
The hotel is in quite a good location and the town is quite nice.
central location breakfast Found evening meal rather expensive compared to other hotels
Basic, comfortable and quiet room -- -a good hotel d'etape. Good resto beside the hotel. The room was a bit stuffy....and had a faintly disagreeable smell. It was An old smoking room. We were NOT asked if we want smoking or non-smoking room.
Location Nothing negative
great location right in the centre and very useful having a garage for the car
Excellent location right in the centre of town and quite superb onsite restaurant.
shower was poor
large room central location room not well equiped very noisey bed and floor very expansive breakfast and dinner
we booked private parking when booking, which was not available on arrival!
Convenient and nice hotel
expensive for what it was
Interesting decoration Quality of dinner Simple design for little bathroom No individual reading light on head of the bed
The design of the rooms was unique. Fabulous meal in gorgeous dining room. Very good service from staff. Bathroom small, only a hand shower. If bath had been fitted the other way round it would have been possible to have had a proper rain shower in the ceiling. This was a shame as only slight gripe about whole stay.
A very expensive hotel with cute but impractical design, and rhe Internet connection was rotally useless.
Food reasonable but not spectacular; room cheap; one member of staff very helpful Room very basic; one member of staff not very helpful
Free wifi Bathroom dirty Restaurant closed
We arrived at the hotel at 4.30p.m. on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. A note on the door said to enter our booking confirmation number. This was not acknowledged. We then had to ring an emergency number and 10 minutes later someone arrived but the hotel booking no. was not compatible with the booking com no. We paid for the room and breakfast via a machine and a key dropped down with a room number on it. Although the bed was clean the room was tired and toit was 38degrees we had to open the window and the room was filled with small flies because there were horses in the field to the rear. We discovered that the restaurant was closed and there was nowhere in the vicinity to get a meal because it was an industrial area. The above says it all. We went for breakfast the following morning and left without even seeing a receptionist. Needless to say we will not be returning.
It had beds to fall asleep on and a shower sort of, so we were just about able to get clean and have a sleep. The hotel was absolutely filthy, the room was inhabited by half the local spider population, which obviously didn't bother housekeeping in the slightest, the maid decided to come into the room one morning, she didn't even bother to knock first! Just opened the door and started coming in till she realised we was in there still. The shower only had a holder at bath level, really handy that, least it hooked in the towel holder.
The hotel was easy to find and included free parking. The staff were very friendly and tried there best to speak English. The location was quiet. You have to hold the shower because there was no where to clip it on the wall. The pillows were a bit small.
Hotel clean excellent selection of breakfast - tea and coffee facilities in rooms No bad points really
It was good to reach it after a long journey and it is pleasantly situated with open country view to the rear. The dining facilities are basic but acceptable. Not really. Maybe a wee bit impersonal appart from the reception.
enough parking places in front of the hotel; very friendly staff that speaks very good English; recommended only for passing. room and bathroom very small; much too small double bed; not a single German television channel; no toilet broom; the maintenance of the breakfast buffet were very sloppy, the price is too expensive.
it was noisy in the night, the food was a bit dry and cold
Room, service and breakfast excellent, as always. I have been wondering for years now why the food in all the Novotel restaurants (called Coté Jardin) is so bad and overpriced. Could the Novotel management please decide to turn all the Cotés Jardin into nice brasseries with good food at an affordable price? The faithful Novotel customers would thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
A convenient hotel, (stopover on journey to Provence). We like Novotel for it's consistent quality & comfort etc. The cuisine! Nothing changes really! Poor choice, expensive & could be better.
Very professional staff. Excellent restaurant
Well-equipped, helpful staff, easy to find, convenient. Room in good order. Nice breakfast. Why do you require a minimum number of words?
Very convenient for the trip to Italy. Just of the motorway but no road noise at all. The last time I stayed at this hotel was some 12 - 15 years ago. It still looks and feels the same as it did then with little or no updates. On my return to the uk we stayed at Reims Novotel. A much nicer and more modern hotel and room. Again I had stayed there before , however this hotel has moved with the times and has adjusted to the modern needs.
this was an average hotel but the location was good for us as it was right off the highway. the service at the restaurant was very slow and the food was not very good. The beds were not very comfortable.
Ease of access from Motorway. Poor quality of food, i.e. overcooked and cold. General service in restaurant I would consider poor.
coffee making facitilties; gated parking very poor and overpriced breakfast
Fantastic, friendly owners/staff
Excellent staff who were very helpful. Good location on the river and close to the city centre. Rooms well decorated, cleand and with a spacious bathroom.
Design of the rooms, location, personal note
We enjoyed a brief, but excellent stay. The owners could not have been more welcoming.
Lovely hotel in a nice situation. Superb rooms and facilities.
The reception clerk was particularly helpful and drew us a map of the restaurant we wished to go to.The situation of the hotel near the River Saone was excellent. The area was quiet at night and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. Macon is a clean city with beautiful flowers and a "romantic garden" walk near the river.
Quality/Price ok. Nice view from the rooms and breakfast area. very helpfull personal, on our departure, they recomand us to visit Cluny, which was a very good choice, to get the fealing of old time France. Thank you.
Secure car park and friendly staff
The receptionist was very welcoming; we liked the decor and the atmosphere and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was easy to find the hotel and the surroundings were very pleasant.
The location. The air conditioning system was completely insufficient and even setting the system at 15 degrees we were unable to cool the room down. This was very disappointing considering how much we paid to stay at the hotel
restuarant was closed - it would have been nice to know that in advance
It is very difficult to write 15 wards about things I liked about this hotel. I think it is possible, that is the worst value for money hotel that I have stayed in. Where do I start? Steep steps up to reception - very friendly. Room uncomfortably hot, bath-room grubby. Hot food at breakfast, finished at 9.45am, when breakfast finished at 10.30. Toilets for general use, by the reception, were disgusting at10.00am and when I reported it to the receptionest was told they were clean at 8.00am. I also noticed the disabled toilet is down a steep flight of stairs. I did ask to speak to the manager and was told - He was on holiday!!
Staff were very friendly, especially the restaurant waitress. Our room was very warm when we arrived. Outside temp was close to 30C, room not much different. Someone from reception came up to take a look at the air con, said to turn it right down (to 15C). This we did but no joy. Complained next day again, was promised an air con engineer would come up to room. No sign of said person. Another uncomfortable night, and when complained once more, was told that we could have been offered another room if we had complained at time of checking in! Were offered a 10% discount for one night only as compensation.
The staff were gracious and the room was spacious for a three-star hotel, recently renovated in contemporary shades of mud that I'm sure are an improvement on whatever was there before. Reasonably good soundproofing in the room at a crowded intersection. Charming garden. Hallways need some refreshing.
The rooms were large and there was secure parking just up the road from the hotel, fine for overnight stop on way back from Italy to UK The rooms nearest the attractive but old lift were quite noisy.
Location, staff, beautiful building. Room rather plain. No sitting chair.
City Centre 10 mins away on foot, room a haven of tranquility with view over a very large walled garden in the heart of the city. Character hotel with many original victorian period fittings and a working lift from the same period. Very calm, no restaurant but many are within walking distance
Beautiful decor, very comfortable bed and all very clean. We appreciated the offer not to have to pay for breakfast because of the problems we had had. Despite plenty of space, there was no armchair in the room, only one hard chair so that one of us had to sit on the bed, the tv was not working, the water pressure in the shower was low and there was nowhere to put soap, shampoo, etc. Breakfast service was friendly and charming, but chocolate was brought when tea had been ordered, it took ages to get a decaffinated coffee and when it came it had a piece of plastic in it which was unpleasant. The croissants were finished by 8 A.M., and it took so long to get more that my husband gave up having breakfast at all. Clothes cupboard in the room needs a handle! No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Lift needs modernization.
Absolutely stunnig "belle epoque" like hotel! worth a visit just for their lift and hall. Big (and newly refurbished) room with excellent bath, big prigvate garden for hotel guests, very nice staff. Really liked it.
Near the city. Nice room. Perfect parkingplace. Breakfast was poor. Ham, yoghurt, juice etc... were not in cold storage.
Rooms are very large.
Beautiful garden. Decor of hotel. The fantastic lift! No
They told us they were going to charge us more money because our card number we used to book it was wrong. But they did not email us to say that our card number was wrong because we had made a small error if we had known we would have immediately changed it.
restaurant very good car park free
We asked for a transfer to Reims which was sorted out immediately by a very helpful member of staff. Reims Mercure was excellent . We will stay at Mercure hotels whenever we are in France now as we were so impressed!
Excellent room. Very friendly staff. High quality restaurant with good choice of wines. Would recommend.
Service and simplicity of check in - check out operations. no
