Set in the heart of Ponferrada's historic centre, Albergue Guiana is just 2 minutes' walk from the Templars Castle, Encina Basilica and the Museum of Bierzo y de la Radio. Free WiFi and air conditioning are offered throughout. The property offers 2 types of accommodation. There are 2 floors of dormitory rooms for 6 or 7 people, each with lockers and shared bathroom facilities. There is also a third floor with private rooms and 2 studios. Private rooms have a private bathroom with a bath or shower and free shower gel. They also feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Studios have a small kitchen area for private use. Albergue Guiana offers a communal TV lounge and a dining area with vending machines for drinks and snacks. There is also a games room and a laundry room. Cyclists can take advantage of free parking in the garage for bicycles. There is also an area with tools, which is dedicated to cleaning and maintenance of bicycles.
Pros: Too many snoring men...recommend designating some rooms for women only.
Pros: I stayed here in a private room on the top floor during my Camino de Santiago walk. The staff was great and my private room was outstanding: huge, modern, and well-furnished. Awesome bathroom and shower. The entire albergue seemed very well planned and run. Dorm bunk rooms each had a small number of bunks and separate boot racks. The laundry room in the basement has dehumidifiers beneath the clotheslines and there was also a comprehensive bike cleaning/repair/storage area for pilgrims on bikes. Someone who knows the Camino planned the place.
Cons: This is the only place I stayed on the Camino that I got bed bug bites.
Cons: Exceeded all my expectations
Pros: Best room we stayed in. Very classy.

Pros: Highly recommend staying at Casa San Nicolas. Molinaseca is a beautiful village and our stay at Casa San Nicolas exceeded our expectations. Very comfy room and bed and our host was very knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was amazing!!!!
Pros: This is a facility run by a Brazilian family and they are very attentive innkeepers. There is a nice upstairs porch where you can dry close or just sit and watch the comings and goings are the church across the street. The room was comfortable and the shared bath worked out well. I recommend getting the breakfast. It was ample and a good way to start another Camino day.
Pros: Jose was great, very helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was great - scrambled eggs, cereal Tea/coffee.
Cons: There was no light in the shower and it was dark. Disappointed that breakfast orange juice was concentrated- when Spain has fabulous oranges.
Pros: Friendly staff, laundry done for us, great breakfast.
Cons: We had an unfortunate leak in the ceiling above and had to move to a less pleasant room. But this was not the owners fault and they were quick to help move us.
Pros: The owner José is super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms with shared bathrooms. The breakfast is the best we’ve had on the Camino so far. Highly recommended.
Pros: The hosts cooked a different sort of meal for guests who wanted it, Brazilian cooking, which was very tasty, and made for a friendly atmosphere. They also prepared scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Pros: The hosts are amazing. The Casa and food were outstanding! Thank you
Pros: Friendly staff, great location, ideal for the Camino, comfortable rooms. Great breakfast including Twinings English Breakfast Tea!

With a stay at Hotel Rural Pajarapinta in Molinaseca, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Basilica de la Encina and Museo de la Radio. Featured amenities include a business center, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean. Quaint. Good location.
Pros: The host was very helpful. He gave us extra hangars to hang our rain-soaked clothes, suggestions for surrounding area.
Cons: We stayed a Saturday night, and the street/surrounding noise was loud, even with the windows closed. Fortunately we had earplugs. We didn’t see the host after we checked in and got settled. Wished he had been available for later questions.
Cons: OMG.... Place wasn't open, had to call to get in. Location - locals bar directly accross the street. Did not quiet down until 12:50AM. Horrible when trying to get sleep for TH he Camino.....
Pros: Nice, clean and quiet. Jesus was helpful.
Cons: Breakfast is late for pilgrims.
Pros: The town is lovely. There are restaurants right on the river and this hotel is very close to a lot of them. The hotel itself is quaint and clean. There is a lounge/library on the second floor that is a nice place to relax at the end of the day before going to your room. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful - pastry, eggs, bread and jam, fruit, orange juice, and of course, coffee.
Cons: I would have given the host a much higher score because he as very pleasant and friendly. The low rating was because when we arrive at the hotel no one was there and the door was locked. We had to phone him (with the help of a very nice man from the corner grocery store) to tell him we were there. It took him over 1/2 hour to get there to let us in. Then, in the morning, breakfast was supposed to begin at 7:30. He didn't arrive until 8:00 and then needed to START making breakfast for everyone. It would not have been such an issue had we not been walking the Camino De Santiago and wanted to get an earlier start.
Pros: It was a good place to stay while doing the Camino!!
Pros: Central, nice ambiance and the young host was delightful
Pros: Room was clean, nice, shower and hair dryer in bathroom. Sitting area on 2nd level was very nice. Enjoyed breakfast/ juice, fruit, muffin, warm toast, and coffee for breakfast. Great location. Nice owner!! Like that windows could be open in bedroom and bath room.
Pros: The owner paid attention to detail and was extremely friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable and right on he Camino. We were served a lovely breakfast as well.

Pros: Great hospitality!
Pros: Owners were very nice and hospitable
Pros: Very clean. Excellent host. Laundry service.
Cons: The church bells rang all night long every 1/2 hour. Did not get much sleep. This is not the fault of the property just the reality of the location.
Pros: The service from the host, very helpful.
Cons: The strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room and bedding. Clearly other guests do not respect the signs saying no smoking in the rooms.
Pros: My host was exceptional, very helpful and friendly!! My room was clean and comfortable; I’d definitely stay again!!
Pros: Haha. This man knows how to make scrambled eggs! He has perfected the coffee albeit super strong. Very friendly husband and wife team. Had a great stay!

Pros: Simple, clean and right on the Camino.
Pros: The bed was comfortable. The shower was good.

Cons: No negatives.

Cons: The room smells like cigarette. Something needs to be done ! The reception was empty when we arrived and we had to call the hotel to get someone to check us in
Pros: The location was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable, so was a good rest spot for a single night. Checkin and finding the actual entry was a little tricky … after a long and hard day on the Camino.
Pros: Great property for a Camino traveler. Clean and close to the trail. Attached to a grocery store for some extra supplies. Self serve breakfast great idea
Cons: Check in counter was a little awkward. Breakfast was a little expensive for 5€ and quality of food

His Dad owned a restaurant next door and the food and wine were excellent. I would recommend this hotel in this quaint little town.

Pros: Right as you enter town. Great location. Very helpful staff. Turned on the heat to our room without asking. Lovely views. Great values at their restaurant.
Pros: One room was amazing. Large with air conditioning. The four of us stayed in that room, even moving one mattress to the floor. It was very comfortable, and well appointed. The staff was helpful, and we kept our bikes right near the front door. The hotel is in a super location right after the walking bridge into the city. The city is great.
Cons: 2nd room was very bad. No AC, very loud, and if we opened the windows it felt like the whole town was in the room. We did not stay in the room, but squeezed into the 1st room. We didn't bother to complain to management, as we didn't want to spend the time dealing with the issue. As pilgrims we were happy to stay together anyway, so it all worked out.

Pros: I asked for a quiet room, all night long the noise from downstairs could be heard, hardly a quiet room. The windows were soundproof and so no noise from the trucks but the door was not noise blocking enough for the noise from downstairs
Cons: Room and bathroom size, cleanliness, friendly staff
Pros: I stayed here because of the Tesla Supercharger. Rooms are OK, price was really good.

Cons: Good location and excellent clean rooms

Pros: Conveniently located on the Camino. About a 10 minute walk to the castle and city center. Room was clean with private bathroom. Nice staff.
Pros: The food was good and reasonably priced.
Cons: Seemed a little sterile and was out of the way of the old city. My fault, though, not theirs.
Pros: They allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel early, long before check-in. The bar/cafeteria was open both early and late. Plenty of restaurants around. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Pros: The facilities were
Cons: The receptionist was unfriendly. Also there's no option to state whether you want cleaning or not, which is kind of annoying. Doesn't help the environment to have more towels that you don't need and you certainly don't need the cleaning staff to have your bed made, just so that you untidy it (once again). Above all it's just stupid to lower the blinds every day when it's clear you will stay in the room, just for you to undo that an hour later... You could save yourself some work and give people a bit more privacy.
Located in Ponferrada, Hotel Rural Caminomedulas is within a 10-minute drive of Museo de la Radio and Basilica de la Encina. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.

Pros: Rated as 2 star, we found it to be very clean and comfortable with a nice en-suite and great towels. Dinner was offered for €11.50 and it was exceptional, a four course traditional Spanish dinner with a nice bottle of red wine and water. Breakfast was also provided and was more than suffice.

Cons: It was a little hard to find.

Pros: Parking was free and on the property.
Cons: The furniture and buildings look run down as if the place is past its prime. Beds and mattresses are old.

Cons: Nothing to dislike. Entrance could do with a bit of love and care, i think that if I had not pre- booked I would not have gone in on seeing gate. Glad I did though.
Pros: Excellent stay. The owner is fantastically welcoming, and we had the diner there in the garden and it was simple food but great moment. The park around is really nice for rest after a long day visiting the surroundings. Ponferrada is a lovely town with beautiful castle. Pros: We spent 1 night at the Ponferrada Plaza and it was clean, comfortable, easy to access by car and there was on street parking in front of the hotel. It was a standard, business hotel.
