10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laurent and Helene were superb hosts very friendly and the breakfast, so much good food!! They offer, for an extra price, home cooked dinners for the guests. We ate there on our final night and was the best meal we had in Reims and the most reasonably priced. Helene is a great chef. The grounds a tranquil and welcoming and the pool was wonderful. The room was cozy, but the bathroom was large and modern with a rain shower head that my wife loved. We loved the respite from the busy city and it was only 10-15 from the center of Reims. Quick and easy to get to. We only speak English but had not problem and even chatted with the very friendly other guests who were first from Paris and next 2 couples from Belgium. Every one made us feel like family.
Cons: The only bad part was leaving.

Cons: We were very well take care of. Nothing needs to be changed.

Cons: very remote and only a small pizza restaurant was open. Owners do not speak English and room was very hot with just one small Velux window and it smelt of stale sweat. No soap for the bath.
6.3 Good
Pros: Splendid view amidst vineyards.
Cons: Very uncomfortable mattress + bedding smelled like rubber. People in the adjacent room could be clearly heard. Very poor internet connection. The owners were not awake before 8:30 which belated our preferred check out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: On half of the heights above Hermonville you'll find this former farm house from which you'll have a great view into the valley and over the vineyards. The house is maintained in a very tasteful style, the rooms are very large, pretty luxury and absolutely clean. The breakfast was brilliant with a full selection of cakes, breads, jams, fruits etc. We very much enjoyed the conversation with our hosts. In the evening it was great to sit outside on the terrace, having a "French" dinner with cheese, bread and wine (and Pizza for the kids) and enjoying the beautiful view and silence. From this accommodation it is not far to Reims or in the large area of Champagne around Epernar or even to make a short trip into the Picardie. Thank you very much for your hospitality

Cons: Bathroom needed a proper overhead shower
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is beautiful.
Cons: Accommodation was not clean enough and two of us who shared the double bed got even beaten by fleas! Staff didn't speak much English. The reception and dining area stunk. Breakfast was basic and we got charged for requesting still water instead of orange juice. And we didn't even get the orange juice. Never again!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was our second visit this year and did not disappoint. Rooms are delightful & immaculately clean. Staff are helpful, polite & charming. Dinner Menu is very limited but if you have dietary needs, I think advance warning would be well within their capabilities. Restaurant is a pleasure to visit, silver service well practiced & meals a delight to receive & consume! Breakfast is fresh, well served and completely enjoyable. Location is tranquil, amidst forest & fields. 100% will revisit the Chateau.
Cons: The only reason we rate the facilities a little lower is because there is no lift and I am an amputee, which makes navigating the beautifully restored stairs hard work. A one person/service lift for luggage would be useful for everyone but we understand the limitations of the restoration may make this impossible. Having said that, it's a beautiful place to stay or stop over, totally worth the effort.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely spacious room, nice restaurant with excellent food
Cons: Very expensive, tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been nice, especially as small bottle of water from mini bar in room was 3 euros, staff were pleasant but not particularly attentive

Tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated. Bath and shower with plenty of hot water. Quiet room - no noise from neighbours or outside. Easy secure parking. A great centre for walking the Via Francigena.
Cons: The restaurant was a disappointment. The starter was strangely very sweet, the steak tough, and dessert was very ordinary. The wine was ok but overpriced. As a result, we did not use the restaurant again over our stay.

Pros: It was great to stay in the yurt which was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good and the staff were very attentive. We would recommend the location which is very peaceful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stay in a Yurt, goats and deer in paddocks. Very nice staff. bear in mind - it's a yurt in a field, toilets and showrs in a separate block.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We’d never stayed in a yurt before, so didn’t have much to compare it to, but we really loved it! The furniture was beautiful and the beds comfortable. It was lovely and cosy. As the weather was so gloomy we could have done with another lamp, but that’s a small detail. It was such a shame it rained the whole time we were there, so we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the setting, though it was nice to leave the yurt door open and watch the goats and deer from the inside! Restaurant and breakfast were absolutely fine.
Cons: Maybe the rocks as steps to the yurt weren’t particularly safe in the pouring rain, or the path to the bathroo but that wouldn’t have bothered us in normal weather!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant on site, good breakfast. Peaceful.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Staff were great. Good breakfast. Location suited our purposes. Lovely setting.
Cons: Wildlife scratching around under the floor at night. On site restaurant was closed for the season (in mid September). Only local place to eat was very nice but rather expensive.

Pros: Beautiful old building. Food excellent portions rather large
Cons: Flies
5.8 Okay
Pros: The style and layout of the gardens and Chateau were lovely in a rural location.
Cons: The food was nice but expensive, as were the drinks, €7.5 for a bottle of Evian water! There was no hot water on one of the days and when mentioned to reception they came to check, and said they will sort something out and let us know within 5 mins. 30mins later nothing and when we arrived at reception for dinner and said there was still no hot water and nobody had contacted us there was no apology just a ‘ we will try and get it working for tomorrow’. There were numerous flies in the bedrooms, common areas and the dining room. At the breakfast buffet there were flies all over the food that was on display with no attempt to cover the food by the staff. It was commented upon by all the guests and when mentioned to the staff there was just a shrug, as if to say what do you expect me to do about it. I appreciate that there will be flies in a rural area but I do not expect to see 50 to 100 or swarming over food that you about to eat with no control what so ever. It’s a shame as the place has a lot going for it. it just needs the management to tighten up on training and pest control.
5.5 Okay

Pros: We were so blessed to find this comfortable home so near to the World War 1 territory we wanted to explore. The setting was perfect, a small French village. The home was well equipped, bed most comfortable and surroundings charming. Our host was very helpful and gave us a great deal of helpful information for our WW1 quest.
Cons: nothing

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully restored rooms in an old building, but discretely set back from the street and so difficult to find. Good location, short walk from the town's real splendour, the cathedral.
Cons: Parking on the public site nearby is limited to 2 hours max, as everywhere in the old town. There is unrestricted parking lower down only a short walk from the hotel, but I was very lucky to find a free space there. As in many old building there is no lift and my knees are not what they were, though the staff helped when I arrived and would undoubtedly have helped when I left if I had asked.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owner. Beautiful staircase, beams and historic features. Great location
Cons: Weird 70s shopfront entrance and other 70s elements
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good central location for walking around the town. Lovely old building full of character. Our room was up in the attic with beams and brick infills. Comfortable room and bed. Fantastic views from nearby over the surrounding countryside. Friendly staff.
Cons: Winding staircase would be difficult for older guests. Have to be lucky to get free car parking overnight in nearby square. Don’t know where you would park if all full.
7.5 Good
Cons: Reception is sometimes closed in the afternoon. It would be good to have been told this more clearly in advance. Otherwise a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mathieu and Pierre do a marvelous job restoring this charming hotel. Everything was great! If you're travels ever bring you to lovely Laon, make sure you give Les Chevaliers a chance.
Cons: all was great
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is a great idea minimise but it just needs some money on finishing and redecorating
Cons: Not very clean poor decorations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Historic building and good break fast.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Laon is a medieval town on a hill, and les Chevaliers is definitely medieval - if slightly modernised here and there. The manager/receptionist could teach the Grand Hyatt Union Square a thing or two on hospitality. When he suggests a restautant, dont quibble.
Cons: Room was a bit grubby here and there. Refurb so recent the room numbers are on bits of post-it note, but the bed & shower are clean and comfy. Electric radiators are, though, absolutely minging. Didnt bother me one bit.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very hospitable, we were offered a choice of room. Room comfortable and clean. Location superb, centre of medieval hill town of Laon, 2 mins walk from wonderful cathedral. Would recommend hotel and would stay here again.
Cons: Shower pressure poor.
