10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top dollar property with loads of character and attention to detail. Amazing breakfast and host. Will be back and highly recommend.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very impressive manor house set in its own grounds, that has been renovated to a very high standard, both in design and quality of furnishings, fixtures and fittings. Beautiful spacious room with views over the grounds in three directions. Our host, David was absolutely charming - polite, helpful and informative, and keen to make our stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. Nothing was too much for him - from providing coffee and cakes upon our arrival, to preparing an amazing breakfast spread the following morning with more home-made tarts, cakes, breads, jams, fruit juices and coffee.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and setting. Exceptional customer service from the owner who personally greeted us and waved goodbye.
Cons: Self held shower head option in the free standing bath (may have been limitation due to the design though). We have a 4 month old baby so the lack of quick/ relaxed eveing food was a slight limitation. That's a compromise of staying in a remote countryside setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about this accommodation and the beautiful couple managing the place. The place was filled with thoughtfully selected arts and decoration and It was very noticeable that the place was made with love. Would absolutely love to go back. Also they arranged a lovely lunch on short notice, which was the best meal in France. Such a peaceful place! Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. This is a beautifully restored old home in a large and very pleasant garden. The restoration is simply stunning, and the house is elegantly furnished. The rooms are large, airy, very modern and comfortable. It is difficult to describe further without sounding over enthusiastic, it is so good. David is a wonderful host and could not have done more to make us feel valued. If you are in the area, or if you feel like a break in the country, do yourself a favour and stay a while.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike. I found the shower-in-the bath arrangement to be a little unusual, but in the context of such a fabulous property this was very minor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is an absolute gem! David is the most hospitable and welcoming of hosts...and his homemade apple cake was delicious! The rooms have all been restored extremely tastefully, with a mixture of antique and modern pieces. The bed was very comfortable and the large bathroom had plenty of hot water and toiletries. Breakfast was plentiful, with locally sourced products... more than enough to send us on our journey. This is an ideal stop if you are heading south or need to catch a ferry back to the UK, as Caen is less than an hour away. There is ample room to park within the grounds and, if you have time, just sit outside and enjoy the tranquility. We will most definitely return here.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Embedded in a splendid landscape of Normandie, you can find this lovely old manor. It has been carefully renovated and invites you to enjoy the country side with style. The courteous host serves a great breakfast and makes the whole stay memorable.

Pros: Our Host was superb! He gave us a very warm welcome, made us feel at home.Say no more!!
Cons: Slightly difficult to find. However, a phone call to the owner and problem solved. He came to.meet us!!!
7.9 Good
Pros: A lovely historical building in a rural location. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable bed. Nice coffee at breakfast and nice sweet items.
Cons: My husband is quite disabled and found the stairs very difficult. Our room was in the top of the house - two flights of stairs. The bathing arrangements were also not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. There was a small Victorian type bath set on a platform which was very attractive but not very practical. The breakfast provided nothing in the way of protein items i.e. no cheese, meats or eggs.

Pros: The breakfast was superb - fresh breads, croissants and pastries, homemade preserves and excellent coffee - a wonderful start to the day! La Maison des Buis is in the Guibray quarter of Falaise - a very pleasant ten minute walk to 'centre-ville'. By far the best B&B we have ever stayed in in France - and we've stayed in many! Thanks Gilles and Brigitte - you are stars!!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There are so many good things. The owners are delightful, friendly, helpful and respectful. The house is beautiful, on the edge of a quite charming town. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the fixtures, fittings and amenities are excellent. Then you wake up and breakfast is also excellent. It's one of the best places we've stayed.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location on route from the ferry at Caen. Our delightful hosts were very accommodating and nothing was too much for them.
Cons: One small item was the bed which was too firm for us. Though the size was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a privilege to be welcomed into such a nice home as if we were honoured guests
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous welcome, amazing breakfast (inc. home made rhubarb crumble), lovely room with ancient features. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts including booking is a lovely restaurant in the town. Very secure and safe and a beautiful garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent and quite roomy. The shower was good and there was space to sit on a couch in the bedroom. The hosts speak very good English and are very helpful with recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast was stylish and most welcome. There is a code for the front gates which you must obtain prior to arrival. Parking is 50 yards down the road but in a very quite area and better than directly outside on the pavement. It is a good central point for visits elsewhere. There is a large supermarket with fuel just down the road into Falaise. The main shopping area is a half mile further down the main road.
Cons: The stairs to the bedroom are to be taken with care bit there is nothing that can be done about that. Just be careful and it does NOT detract from the overall excellence.Very com
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Swimming pool and great bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay in Falaise. We had driven for 5 hours back en route to the UK and stayed here for the evening. We arrived later than planned, at 9pm, but the owners were really friendly and welcoming - even opening the swimming pool for us so we could take an evening swim after our long drive ! The rooms and overall facilities are new, very clean and very well kept. The continental breakfast was lovely. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish decor. Secure courtyard. Comfortable rooms. Selection of fresh breads etc breakfast. Enjoyable pool and relaxation area including sun deck. Efficient service from hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic place to stay. The owners have put a lot of thought and time into creating a modern, comfortable place to stay for their customers. It was all professionally managed and the owners, staff were always friendly and cheerful. The place was very clean and up to date. We liked the idea of having our own "stall" (Yes!) for breakfast and the croissants were gorgeous. Situated within a courtyard near the main house it was very quiet, yet it is located in the town of Falaise. Highly recommended.
Cons: There wasn't anything not to like. Perhaps more drawer space in the room for clothes that don't hang up! But that wasn't a great drawback at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a lovely surprise and exceeded our expectations. We were in a beautifully and tastefully converted stable block, that is fantastic value. We were only there for the night and the town looked worth exploring. Secure parking within the gates of the property. We would like to stay there again.
Cons: The wifi seemed to be problematic while we were there, though we did not investigate further.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best accommodation we had so far in France.

Pros: Indoor pool a great bonus after a long drive.

Pros: Breakfast was good, with lovely homemade jam and the coffee, despite being in a large vacumn flask (usually horrible) was good, too.
Cons: There was an excellent selection of hot and cold drinks available for free (or in the fridge if you paid into a tin) but it was in another room, which was a little awkward. The location was not very easy to find, but worth it in the end.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Located in the Norman countryside, just outside Falaise. Exquisite gardens, with hare and deer wandering across the lawn at sunrise and sunset. Buildings date from as early as 1774, but have been renovated and modernized. The owners went out of their way to be helpful, booking a (very good) restaurant for us downtown for dinner, and preparing breakfast for us earlier than the usual time to facilitate our schedule.
Cons: Two single mattresses on a double bed.

Pros: This was an unexpected jewel in a most beautiful area of France. This is real rural farm country with beautiful landscapes, but limited services. The couple who own the property do not speak English, but have a cell phone application which she uses to translates between languages. Worked very well as a means to communicate between languages. Breakfast was very filling and were a great start to the day.
Cons: Local restaurants were very limited a a bit of a drive in any direction. But that was part of the fun of exploring the area. WiFi was a bit weak in the bedroom, but worked much better in the common area upstairs

5.0 Okay
Pros: The food was excellent, amazing flavours and the service well timed and friendly.
Cons: The room was charged as a "superior" room, it was very small with a view over a building site and factory roofs. It was on the second floor and there is no lift. The bathroom was good, but it had a sliding door which was noisy and a challenge to close. Finally and most important, there was no hot water and when I pointed this out to the management, I was met with a shrug and told they had problems with the boiler. Really not good enough.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good value. Location is perfect and it was very quiet at night despite being on the main road.
