Lovely hotel, lovely position, clean, quiet location, good base for touring the mountains looking for birds of prey. Bed very hard-personal preference is for softer bed-please remember that this is not the only hotel in the world with a hard bed !
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Very clean. Nice pool- kept very clean.
The staff were friendly & extremely helpful...& I have booked to return in 4 weeks time! Beautiful pool area & lovely ambience throughout. Also very well-priced. Decorated to fit in with its surroundings in this lovely town, one of the Pueblos Blancos. Highly recommended-a gem!
The hotel is in a good central location in Olvera...we had the most spectacular view of the Castle and Church from our room which was especially brilliant at sunset. The staff were friendly and helpful and the dinner waiter ( Paco ) excelled. The birds of prey in this area are a wondrous sight and on this trip we were privileged to see two Golden Eagles...the first I have ever seen...WOW..The other ornithological treat are the Griffin Vultures...there is a feeding station just outside Olvera where you can see these big beasties being fed,,,,another wow. One thing that I feel could be added to the rooms in this hotel are Tea/Coffee making facilities ( as with most of the hotels I have stayed at in this area ) .It is not a big deal for me as I always have my trusty travel kettle and a good brand of dried milk in my hand luggage.
Nice ambiance and better than a 4 star hotel we stayed in in Jerez.
We asked for a balcony or a view and got both! The staff were pleasant and efficient. The meal in the restaurant was very good We had agood sized bedroom.Parking nearby was easy. .
The breakfast is the most cheepest (and has a good quality) in the whole area. Rooms were clean and the swimming pool was ok The staf was not very helpfull and friendly.
When I am on business in this area I always stay at this hotel because it has free Wi Fi. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is very convenient for Olvera town and the surrounding villages are only a short drive away. The birds of Prey are still prevalent in the area an are a joy to behold. The food in the restaurant it not as good as it used to be...maybe they have changed their chef ! Parking is a bit tricky but you do expect that in any town hotel that does not have its own car park.
Very attentive and professional staff. We were very well looked after. The service and food in the bar and restaurant were excellent.
Very friendly staff, personal service, & although a simple Continental, breakfast was freshly made with the most fabulous, freshly squeezed orange juice & hot coffee....unlike a recent stay in a 5* hotel in Spain!
The views were fantastic and the hotel only 2 minutes walk from the village. The rooftop parking was an extra bonus in such a small village
The setting in the mountainous area of Andalucia and the view of the Jade-colored lake from the hotel.
Beautiful setting Breakfast was only average considering the excellent quality of evening meals
Hidden gem off the beaten path. Sits at the top of city on a hill, right below the castle. Great walks. Every room has a view. Rooms are nicely furnished. Nice simple breakfast included with our rate. Plan to return.
Amazing view over the lake. First class service from the duty manager when we could not drive up to the hotel because the road was closed for the local fiesta. He took me to the car park, checked there was space available and then showed me the back road up to the hotel. Nothing at all. It's not 4 star luxury but it's more than adequate with an idyllic location.
Situation is wonderfull just straight on a cliff with a superb view on a lake. The village of Zahara is also very nice and their people extremelly welcoming. Hotel staff is very very kind and we enjoyed a nice breakfast watching the nature around from through the window bays
Wonderful location for visiting the white villages & walking locations by car. Not good for walking directly from the hotel as the town is on top of a very high & long steep hill! Very friendly & helpful staff. Excellent choice of typical local cafes & bars for full meals or snacks. Our family thoroughly enjoyed a one week stay. Some nights we had the bedroom window open and barking dogs woke us regularly.
Stunning location; well presented; needs gradual updating of rooms and bathrooms - but for the price it was excellent. No
Fantastic location and excellent value for money.
The setting is beautiful and the whole hotel, pool area and dining room/bar has been well done. The food was good and at a fair price and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is a good base for Grazalema, Jerez and Sevilla should you wish to do some exploring.
The staff were very friendly at reception offering advice on places to eat in the surrounding area and calling taxis for us. We were very lucky that even though at the height of summer, it wasn't overcrowded and we had the feeling of being the only ones there. The log cabin we stayed in was very cute and had a balcony facing west which was perfect for sunset drinks! Pets are welcome and it really was a perfect atmosphere for that 'get away from everything' feeling. I feel it could do with having a bar by the pool instead of having the guests traipse back to the main building to get drinks or snacks. There were enough sunbeds and umbrellas for the time we were there, but during busier times it might do better with having more.
Lovely setting , close to many places to visit and great countryside walks, good restaurant. Cabins are not very comfortable , lumpy beds , hard sofa , better furniture would be an improvement
excellent location for a relax weekend break and the food was lovely the cabin didn't have a fireplace
Would highly recommend this chalet as a very relaxing place to stay for two. You have everything that you need - it is in a great location with stunning views and has been well thought about. The road to get to the apartments is not particularly great as it is 2k outside the village and there were quite a lot of pot holes - but still worth it. We arrived on a bank holiday so the local village shops were not open to buy food, so it would have been nice if there was a few bits at the chalet to start us of as we had to drive quite a long way in the evening to get something to eat - just a pack of pasta and sauce and a few tea bags would have made the whole experience perfect! Or perhaps we could have been pre-warned that shops would be closed.
Great views over the mountains and vultures, friendly owner and his family, great terrace, sunbeds and pool. Comfortable outdoor experience.
friendly hotel, good atmosphere, value for money the hotel was closed thursdayevening because weekly leave of personnel, this was only communicated in Spanish by a message on the frontdoor which we did not understand, so we were very surprised we could not have our dinner in the hotel but had to search for for food in the late night in the village (pueblo !)
The kind attention of the Owner/Manager who explained the rural countryside and the history of the area. Beware that the excellent Restaurant is closed ton Wednesday and Sunday evenings!
Location ; edge of town i.e no parking problem. Nil.
A good base for touring the mountains
We stayed in the country villa. Nice surroundings and probably a fantastic place for a family to stay in the summertime. The villa is well equiped if you like to cook yourself. Ronda and Arcos are very close and worth a visit. Very friendly and English speaking hotel owner. The food in the restaurant was rather average in quality.
location, view, service, all excellent, pity it was such a short stay.
Quiet, with panoramic view.Central location for touring "Pueblos Blancos". Front of hotel would benefit if cleared of debris etc and flowers placed around the parkimg area.
Like to be at home (I´m Spanish-Finnish)
Very good hotel to visit Sierra de Grazalemma and Frontera Regions. Nice large swimming pool. Helpful staff. Balcony rooms on the backside (pool) of the hotel are much preferable in the summer heath. rooms lack fridge and adequate aico
Ccn if possible or like international channel
For us the location was perfect, and the staff were excellent
Incredibly friendly staff, who quickly made you feel like a member of the family.
The staff I met were very nice and friendly. I stayed there in November. The bar is very big and was extremely cold. The bedroom was also very cold - I left the heating on all night.
Hospitality, although English not spoken efforts were made to make us welcome Hotel was closed one night at 10.30pm after we had been out for a meal after trying all doors had to knock window to find someone to open the main doors
Warm friendly greeting by helpfull staff. A modicum of English spoken. Food and service very good in a rustic country style. All in all quite a comfortable stay. Only one criticism, our room anly loked onto an internal closed atrium so no views of the magnificent countryside.
The staff was very welcoming despite our lack of Spanish and their lack of English The room next door was a bit noisy
Nice people ok accomodation Bit far out of town
The staff (Rafael and Elena) was wonderfully helpful. We enjoyed learning more Spanish customs and language from them. It's not in the center of town, but on the outskirts. But it was a beautiful place.
it is a limited place.
the hotel was an old fashioned spanish hotel and we liked that was looking a bit tired and pool and area around it not open
